The Best Chinese Food in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"China Mama serves enviable bowls from Cantonese, Szechuan, and Dongbei cuisine under the guidance of executive chef Bing Chou. With 30 years of experience in Asian cuisine, chef Chou serves mouth-watering dishes of crispy beef, crispy pork with Mama’s special sauce, sliced fish fillet with pickled mustard, dry pepper chicken, and mapo tofu. Other standouts include spring salted egg yolk prawn, pork joint stewed with rock sugar, braised pork belly with small abalone, and the Chef’s Special Taro Duck. The newest location from China Mama, inside Palace Station, has a sleek new dining room for enjoying pot stickers, steamed juicy pork buns, and young coconut stewed bird’s nest." - Janna Karel

Where to find the best Asian food in Chinatown | Eater Vegas

"Soup dumplings and mapo tofu practically call your name at this lauded Chinese standby. The family-owned spot serves both Americanized Chinese items and more traditional Chinese dishes, but its signature dish is the juicy pork buns, steamed and stuffed with pork and broth. Top Chinese restaurants still open in Las Vegas right now for takeout and delivery | Eater Vegas

"Look for two different menus here. One carries more Americanized versions of Chinese fare. The other is dishes Chinese patrons may prefer. The restaurant’s signature dish, juicy pork buns, comes steamed and stuffed with pork and broth. China Mama also has dim sum. Open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily for takeout. Or visit Seamless, GrubHub, or Uber Eats for delivery." - Susan Stapleton

***THIS IS THE ONLY REVIEW YOU WILL NEED TO READ!*** DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! 4.6 STARS MUST BE AI generated.*** Food is not good. Rice is does not have authentic Chinese smoky flavor. Shrimp is mushy. Chow mein was absolutely disgusting. Salt and pepper wings were not crispy and the vegetables lacked flavor. Orange chicken is horrendous!!! Spring rolls are soft inside and absolutely disgusting!!!! December 26, 2025.

Google
I’ve been to the original China Mama and the experience and food was 10/10. Me and a friend happened to drive by China Mama Express while doing some work and decided to try it out. It says “Express” but the food is definitely gourmet and exactly what I remember from their full restaurant. We will be back for sure! 10/10 again!

Katrayl R.

Google
Ordered 4x Crab Rangoons, and Honey Walnut Shrimp. It came with a side of white rice. Containers were neat. ONLY received 2 sauces for my crab ragoons when I should have received 4. The sauce cups are the 1.5-2oz sauce cup and definitely wasn’t enough for a total of 16 crab ragoons. Next time I will ask for more. Picture on the menu looks different than what’s made/given. Looks like they JUST received an A rating and the flavors match with ambiance and hospitality!

Google
I had the pleasure of trying China Mama Express, and I’m so glad I did! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted high-quality, and everything was hot and well-prepared. From the first bite to the last, the food was comforting, satisfying, and full of authentic flavor. Care goes into both the cooking and presentation. I’ll absolutely be back—this has officially earned a spot in my go-to Vegas Chinese food rotation!

Google
We had the Mongolian Beef and Generals Chicken with a side of white rice and crab Rangoon. It was delicious, definitely hit the spot! Also, had great customer service.

1st time. Delicious. We did a to go and the portions are very good for 2 and the customer service was great as well! Recommended. Will go again!

Google
Ordering in the website worked fabulously. We came in for Christmas dinner takeout. There was a two hour wait for phone orders. There were about 50 people in the lobby waiting for orders. The app texted us when our food would be ready and then it texted us when the food actually was ready for pick up. I went right in and out. Perfection. I felt like the grinch stealing the roast beast. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. Favorites were stir fried beef with rice noodles, green onion pancakes, General Tso’s chicken and shrimp honey walnut. I was so impressed with the staff (front and back of the house) for holding it together on such a crazy busy shift.

Google
Absolutely delicious. Large portions and fresh food. I had the Mongolian beef. Definitely a must try

Yelp
If you know, you know. And if you don't, let this be your introduction to China Mama Express--an absolute gem serving some of the most consistently excellent Chinese food in the Valley. The crispy beef is our go-to favorite: always hot, crunchy, never greasy, and packed with flavor. It rivals--and honestly exceeds--versions we've had at upscale restaurants. The wontons in Szechuan chili sauce are a must: tender, perfectly seasoned, and swimming in a rich, spicy broth that hits all the right notes. The stir-fried pork with dried tofu is subtle but deeply satisfying, and the salt & pepper shrimp? Easily some of the best we've ever had--light, crispy, and bursting with garlic and chili flavor. We always get two orders of the house special fried rice because one just isn't enough. Every dish feels thoughtfully made, not rushed or reheated, and the quality shines through. No frills, no fluff--just top-tier cooking, generous portions, and bold flavors that keep us coming back. A hidden standout in Vegas Chinese cuisine. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This was my first time trying China Mama and I was really excited. I regret going to the express location. Maybe the restaurant locations on Spring Mountain or Palace Station would have been better. I see a lot of videos on social media. It looked delicious. However, the food was awful. Biggest disappointment was the rice. How do you mess up the white rice? It was old, dark yellow, and hard. Ruined my appetite for the whole meal. The noodles were dry, tasteless, and bad. Crispy beef was hard as a rock. Was really disappointed. Crispy duck was tasteless. We could not finish the food and threw it away. Waste of money. I'm still considering trying the restaurant locations.

Yelp
I definitely recommend this place, if you are in a hurry for Chinese Food. Maybe not as good as the original China Mama, but is still better than other Chinese Restaurants. One item I did not like, are the eggplant (one of my favorite Chinese dishes). The sauce is sweet and boring.
google avatar

Anahalee Y.

Yelp
I'm a regular at this location, but today was a huge letdown. I always order the Crispy Beef, but today's serving was stale, rock-hard, and completely lacked the usual sauce. It felt like leftovers from the day before. I called the restaurant to express my grievance, but they weren't able to offer a solution. It's disappointing to spend $30 on an inedible meal from a place that is usually delicious. I hope they can improve their quality control and customer service response.

Yelp
If you're from L.A. you know what outstanding chinese food taste like. Not just at the cuisine level chinese food but even buffet standard down to take-out standards -- L.A. is unmatched. That being said, this place lacked not only quality but at the very least it lacked flavor. The meats all tasted questionable like mystery meat marinated in a lot of star anise brine doused in sugary soy & citrus to mask the foreign meat taste. The fried rice had no flavor and was mushy. Even the green beans. Rule of thumb in L.A. if a chinese restaurant lacks attention to detail in their most simplest dishes (fried rice / veggies) what makes you think they'll care about any others? Spent $300+ catering for an event here based on a few local reviews...never again. Still on the hunt for L.A. quality chinese food in Vegas so far everyone's disappointing.
google avatar

Charunan C.

Yelp
The service was fast! The food looks good! Just picking up! Still gotta try it! Faster than regular China Mama for sure!
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
Despite being called express there's actually a couple of tables for you to eat in. Order from the counter or online, it's quick and easy. Taste is exactly the same as the other two China Mama locations without the delay or hassle of trying to find a parking spot. Must try menu items here: mapo tofu, twice cooked pork, pepper boiled fish, pepper boiled beef, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour fish fillet, Mongolian beef, and any of their fried rice.

Yelp
As always late night take out of wontons. Mmm the spicy sauce is so good and it pairs well with their wood ear mushroom salad. No time for photos, it was take out but this is one of my favorite places to stop by and get something on my way home. Service is always polite and the storefront is well maintained and kept organized and clean.

Yelp
The quantity is large, and taste is pretty good. I ate salt & Pepper Pork Chop. I miss its taste.

Yelp
Tried something new other than one by the house .Delivery service was fast. Being 5 miles away and getting the order out and delivered before yelp eta. Food is alright for a quick bite. But nothing to crave for. Orange chicken batter was falling apart so it felt like un cook for some. The sauce was good with the added chillies slices. The shrimp was awesome I like the garnish green onions with that fish sauce taste. I would order that again.

Yelp
Delicious and convenient! Just like other China mama store. Great option you crave for China mama but wanna dine at home!

Yelp
Best Chinese food in Vegas! Doesn't matter which location, the food and service are always

Yelp
We came here for lunch and ordered the sweet and sour chicken, stir fried noodle, crab Rangoon, and beef roll Amazing taste on all the entrees and fed us all perfectly. The staff was so kind and clean we will definitely come again. Amazing food and deal!
google avatar

Tehmina Z.

Yelp
Got to try a whole lot from their menu because it is family style dinning and came with 5 other people. Each of us got something different off the menu and shared. The rice and fish soup, Crispy beef, and eggplant were my favorite dishes from the night, I give those a 5. My friends like those and also liked the tofu dish. The sweet shrimp appetizer is delicious too. I could have done without the crispy duck, it was kind of on the dry side to me and the sauce wasn't enhancing its taste. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice on the inside, dim lighting. The parking is tough though because the lot gets very packed at dinner time. The service was wonderful, all the food came out quick, and the waitress was helpful and attentive.

Yelp
Best Chinese food! Crispy beef is what I come here for and green beans. Everything here is worth trying

Yelp
Bar b q pork fried rice had no pork in it.kung pao chicken no vegetables and Mongolian beef so very oily and unimpressive. I spent $100.00. Big waste!! And we got a sick stomach all night!!
google avatar

Tammy W.

Yelp
The orange chicken was delicious. Crab Rangoon was great! The pork fried rice I never seen it like that before but it was still good. Service was quick! They don't offer delivery must go thru a third party app.

Yelp
Where to start? In Vegas with some buddies and we try this place based on a recommendation from our Uber Driver on a previous trip. Located in Shanghai Plaza away from the strip this place could double its size and easily keep the tables full. In fact, if you have a group larger than 6 you will end up being shoehorned into a table. But the food and service easily make up for that. We had a group of 7 so our seating arrangement was a tad tight but they made it work. Sapporo beer and Sake helped wash down some of THE best Chinese food we've enjoyed anywhere. Seriously. We had several appetizers and 7-8 dishes and they were all fabulous. From Mama's Famous Pork Buns (you gotta try them) to the Twice Cooked Pork (spicy), the Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, Lo Mein, Mama's Special Fried Rice etc, the meal was spot on. Mama has another place opened in the Palace Station Casino which I can only assume is bigger. So next time in town we'll have to go there. China Mama is the real deal.

Alisa G.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Have been here a few times always recommend the crispy beef it's sweet and crunchy. Think thick honey glazed. Fast and easy worth the visit.

Bianca D.

Yelp
Great service and food! Same quality as the restaurant. Def a must try if you're in the area!

Yelp
Congrats to China Mama for being glossed as the eighth best Chinese restaurant in all of America by Yelp. Holy Pot Stickers, there are about 50,000 Chinese restaurants in the U.S. so that's quite the honor! (though I don't necessarily agree) Of the four entrees tasted: Mongolian beef - generous portion of nice tasting steak pieces with most of the fat and gristle trimmed off. Crispy beef - a mound of beef slivers that are battered, fried, then coated with sweet and sticky spices. Comes with rice and tastes almost dessert-like. Beef roll - looks like a wrap rolled up with paper-thin slices of spiced beef and then fried. Nice taste (hoisin flavor, as in Mu Shu dishes?) but could have used some dipping sauce like their website photo shows. Chicken fried rice - drab tasting with pre-frozen peas, carrot cubes, and under-spiced chicken pieces...the dish is prepared with little or no soy and a packet or two of imitation soy sauce added after the fact does not rescue it. Pass on such a weak attempt at this 'non-gourmet' version of fried rice. But aside from the traditional, there's also a nice option to order lesser known dishes which is always tempting to do. I was all set to try the 'Husband and Wife Lung Slices' for $15.99, but collapsed under pressure because a visual of Hannibal Lector saying, "Bon appetit!" appeared inside my head and wouldn't go away. In the end, I like most of the food at China Mama Express although they could class things up a bit. It's in a tight space and upon entering, there was one customer waiting for a takeout order while a staff member chowed down on a mini-feast in front of us at one of only three tables. After I ordered she disappeared into the kitchen, presumably to help cook it, while her half eaten meal sat there. She emerged a couple times, went back in, never wore gloves, her late lunch sitting there interrupted. An employee stuffing her face is never a good look for the diner to see when entering any small restaurant. C'mon, do better! But despite the weird vibe, the food mostly does taste good. Maybe they can improve on a few things to make it more worthy of the high ranking.

Michael M.

Yelp
Be careful with this place. They are running a credit card scam. I came in on 12/30 an hour or so before closing. I get an email instantly when using my cards. 12/31 at 930pm I get another charge. Larger amount. They aren't even open this late. Especially on NYE.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food and Great customer service! Ordered the chow mein and kung pao chicken which met our expectations! Fast and quick service, was able to get us in and out.b

Yelp
We ordered the crab fried rice via uber eats. We were very disappointed upon discovering that its IMITATION crab used in it. Not worth the money. Very disappointed. I just wish they had specified that it wasn't real crab.
google avatar

Onelu V.

Yelp
All the food we got was good. We will be coming back soon. Friendly and wonderful staff.

Jack S.

Yelp
I just ordered today from china mama express and found a toothpick in my beef and broccoli. Completely disappointed and dissatisfied with the fact that a toothpick could make it into a dish. I almost bit into the toothpick which could've caused me injury... Makes me question the food safety and procedures going on in the back of the kitchen. I called for a refund and the cashier was unable to provide one since I ordered online. I eat from china mama 2 regularly and have never had an experience like this. Heartbreaking.
google avatar

Maria R.

Yelp
Love being able to grab a quick meal to-go. The crispy beef, orange chicken and green beans never disappoint. My order was ready at the exact time stated and the staff is very friendly.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
I heard so much about this place and they live up to the expectations. It's a small version of the other restaurants however, the food is absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
Well... there is a first time... and a last. This is it for me. Today. Some 40 dollars later and realize that the tip I left (~ 8-9 bux) might've been more reasonable for the quality of the food today. Scallion pancakes barely cooked. No sauce. Chicken wings, scant. Hot and sour soup (while plenty) tasted burnt to a crisp. Hate to throw away "food"... but. Oh well. 40 dollars later lesson. No good east coast style Chinese food round here.
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Great food fast. Expanded menu so that is a plus. Crab Rangoon for an appetizer. So excited!
google avatar

Leticia L.

Yelp
I rarely leave reviews, but the kindness and quality I experienced from China Mama Express deserve to be shared! I ordered through Uber Eats, but unfortunately, my driver delivered the wrong order. I called the restaurant, and Anne--who I believe is a manager or staff member--was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. She not only apologized (even though it wasn't their fault) but went above and beyond to personally deliver the correct order to my home. That kind of service is rare these days! And let me tell you--the food was exceptional. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and piping hot. From now on, I'm ordering directly from them whenever I can. Not only is the food top-tier, but the customer service is unmatched. Thank you, Anne and the team at China Mama Express--you've got a loyal customer in me!

Yelp
They have the Best Mongolian beef! And it's a Super convenient satellite location away from chinatown!

Yelp
First time I came in tried the crispy beef and it did not disappoint. Tasted just like the location on spring mountain. See they started a family dinner offering in September, will have to try that next time

Yelp
My wife and I run a home business, so sometimes we need a quick lunch or dinner. We've gone to China Mama Express quite a few times. I order when I get there, and the food is ready in about 10 minutes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Axa L.

Yelp
The worst wait time for customers. I've been waiting 1 hour right now & my customer's order is still not ready. Absolutely RIDICULOUS! Do not order from here if you're a Door dasher or UberEats delivery driver!

Yelp
My son loved China Mama when it was on Jones and Spring Mt. I stopped by here the other day while my car was being worked on. It was around lunch time and I asked if they had a lunch special and they said no , but online it shows a Mama Special Lunch Box. So , I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken which came with White Rice and I got a Soda. It came to $18.87. It took maybe 15 minutes and I ate about half of it there and took the rest home. The chicken was nothing special more like a lesser Panda version. I was a little disappointed. It did have Pineapple Chunks in it as well as pieces of Bell Peppers. I usually get the General Tso's at other Asian restaurants and not all of them put in the Pineapple Chunks. I wanted my son to try it since he liked it so much at the old location , but they were going out to eat that night and the next day he went to work and never ate the leftovers. I personally wouldn't come back here. I've had much better food for the price at other Asian restaurants. Also the guy at the register was wearing a mask which is fine if you are still afraid of Covid or whatever , but I could barely understand him when I asked him a question and made my order. The dining area is small , but clean. It's just too bad the food was almost like frozen grocery store food.

Yelp
Food is delicious, service is great, price is very reasonable. Will definitely come back in the future
