China One

My wife and I had dinner at China One and were truly impressed. We ordered Orange Chicken with noodles (instead of rice, for an additional $2) and two crab rangoons, as well as Lo Mein Chicken with fried rice and one egg roll. The portions were incredibly generous—so much so that we couldn’t even finish half the meals! The taste was excellent, with well-balanced flavors, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Overall, we had a great experience. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be eating here again! (Attached: Photos of our leftovers to show the portion sizes.)

My husband and I are here for my Mayo appt. and had this Doordashed to our hotel. Can I say amazing, everyone should eat here there is enough food for him tomorrow to eat after my procedure. When we have to come back we will eat at the restaurant, so we can tell you personally thank you 😊 keep up with the amazing food. 👏

Just came into town for 4 days and staying at a motel downtown. Looked up some reviews and they weren’t wrong. Probably the best Chinese food Ive ever had. Super fresh , loaded with flavors, hot, and a friendly staff. Both the Hunan Chicken and KungPow chicken was absolutely delicious. I certainly never thought Id be back in 4 days but it was so good I have to try another different dish of this goodness.before we leave. If it wasn't so so far Id be a regular for sure.

I travel a lot for work and get really upset when I spend money on food and it turns out to be terrible. This is place is not one of them. The food and service was great. The prices are fair and the portions will last you at least two days. I recommend the General Tso Chicken with Chicken fried rice!

Always fast and always solid food. I like their lunch specials. More-mixed vegetables is brown sauce and Chinese vegetables has white/clear sauce. Sometimes I forget and then which I would have ordered the other ones. Crab Rangoon are too oily for my liking. I like the wonton soup. The woman who takes orders is always really nice when I call.

Fast. Friendly staff. Large portions :) China1 is my go to Chinese food restaurant. They have great lunch & dinner specials too. Some of my favorites are the wonton soup, fried egg rolls, bourbon chicken, beef & broccoli, and pork/shrimp fried rice.

The American staple Orange Chicken was very good. White meat and large pieces. The friend rice didn't seem very fried and dry and way too much onion and large pieces in it. Overall this place seems solid.

We tried China1 takeout for the first time last night and were quite happy with our find. The food was fresh and delicious albeit a bit bland, but we didn't request any specific levels of spiciness. The portions were generous and we really appreciated that. The pot stickers and accompanying sauce were some of the best we've ever had, and we eat a lot of Chinese and Asian food! I would go back just for these! The interior isn't the nicest for sit down so I suggest take out, it's just that kind of place.

This place is always amazing!!! The food is so good and ready quick, they are more of a delivery or take out place but they are reopen for dine in as well. Our favorite place for this cuisine.

We ordered from the individual menu. We had the Moo Soo Shrimp and Broccoli in Garlic Sauce. They were very good and generous portions. The facility was very clean. The staff were friendly.

We are here from out of town and picked up takeout from here tonight. I have never had ingredients that were so fresh. The portions are large and the value is great. We had the moo goo gai pan, fried rice, crab Rangoon, egg and spring rolls everything tasted amazing and was ready on time during dinner rush. We'll be back next time!

Wonderful small family owned restaurant. OUTSTANDING FOOD EVERY TIME we have ordered from here. In excess of 30 times over the past two years when we are here for medical treatment & appointments at Mayo. NEVER DISAPPOINTED. Savory, fresh and DELICIOUS food. Always HOT when picked up. Seasoned precisely as we request, spicy vs not-so-spicy. FANTASTIC Hot & Sour Soup.

I like their food usually, but quality may be going downhill. The last two times I've been here in the past 2 months, the chicken in our sesame chicken order had many pieces in which the meat was a stringy, weird texture, like chicken jerky. Freezer burn? Overcooked?

This place is what Chinese restaurants are all about. Looks to be family run, great prices, food and amazing value. I had the Bourbon chicken and she had the garlic chicken. They have dinner specials that come with ran-goons and or egg roll. Everything was just super tasty. We are in town for a short period while getting treatment. Now the hardest thing is planning to see how many times we can stop in before leaving without eating there everyday. At a glance it looks a little run down but don't let this scare you away. Unless you like paying twice the price and getting half the portion.

The only Chinese food I like in Rochester. I order the same thing all the time so can't say how other menu items are. My favorite are the egg rolls, egg drop soup, chicken and broccoli, and sesame chicken.

General Tsao. Lightly better than Panda Express but not by much. This is when you are wanting quantity over quality as you get a lot of food at a reasonable price

We order from here about once a week. It's the best I have found in Rochester. Their set up for social distancing during the pandemic is very innovative and keeps their staff and customers safe. The Black Pepper Chicken is our favorite - hands down! The sauce on that dish is slightly sweet and the black pepper is not overpowering. It comes with white onion and sliced green bell pepper. We always get at least two egg rolls we like them better than the spring rolls. We have tried the Mongolian Beef, the Szechuan Beef, and the Hunan Beef. None of them really stood out. But tonight we also tried the Kung Pao Chicken and the Beef with Garlic sauce and we're pleased with both. We like trying at least one new dish every week so I am certain we will find another favorite at some point!

Scott, Todd, and I were looking for Chinese last night and were reading the reviews. China 1 is apparently one of the best Chinese restaurants in Rochester! Is that like saying that Godfather's is the best Pizza? We were the only customers in place yesterday, during the early stages of Sunday evening. You order at the counter and then they dish you up based on the overhead menu and deliver it to the table. Before that, you need to grab your own utensils, napkins, and fortune cookies. No alcohol is available, so we all went for water. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered my usual - Kung Pao Chicken with white rice, with the fried version also available. My impression was that I got a lot of decent but average Chinese food for the money. That's not a bad thing as I was hungry and I enjoyed the meal with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. And if I happen to be in town again, I would come back here as a comfort food option (and at home with an adult beverage), but not as an "Oh Wow" dining experience.

My dad just got out of the hospital so we were on a mission to find hotel takeout. China 1 worked great! We ordered the food online as we walked out the door. Staff was friendly, the portions were huge, and the timing was perfect. They were actually packing it up as we walked inside. Nothing stood out as being extra special but it wasn't subpar either. The 4th star really comes down to the value. There was a HUGE amount of food for the taste & price with the location being walking distance from the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Not to mention, it was still surprisingly good reheated. Pro-Tip: If you have a long stay, order early in the trip. I'm normally not one for an excessive amount of leftovers. However, it was super handy to have fridge options available when you're spending a week in the hotel post-surgery with family that doesn't feel well & isn't overly mobile.

Ordered takeout online, both D23 and H6 were delicious, great service. Would recommend to everyone who likes Chinese dishes.

This is THEE most nastiest dirtiest Chinese food I have had in my life. I'm from Florida so I guess this is the "good stuff" up here if you go by the reviews. The shrimp in my rice was so unclean it had my whole Large house rice contaminated. The chicken wings were fried in old oil and was not clean before fried. The egg rolls were small and tasted like the conjunction in it was dirty. Ew ew ew!! CLEAN YOUR MEAT CHINA 1, with vinager and clean your seafood with lime!! Y'all know better than that!!! Absolutely disgusting. And to think I order 2 large house fried rice, sorry not sorry!! Clean your food before you cook it!! And change that oil!!

Ordered the the lunch special Mongolian beef (L22) with fried rice, 2 crab Rangoons & wonton soup (all of this is included in lunch special for $8.25!) You could also choose a different soup or white rice or also soda as well! Plus multi menu items on there lunch specials! They also accommodated me on the no spicy , since I can't handle much heat!!! This was the best Chinese I have had in years. I'm from out of town and only here for my Mayo visits, but now I know where I'm going to be stopping when I'm looking for a great Chinese meal, outstanding portions, and great prices! The wonton soup was some of the best I've ever had as well. Huge wontons!! Flavorful broth. Definitely coming back to try other dishes!!!!

China one has become my go-to for Chinese food, its a further trip for me than a few other options & worth the extra drive. It seems they always have a smile on their face, the food tastes a little better and simple things like accepting a credit card get you a long way's in comparison to some of their competitors. The crab rangoons have become some of my families favorites, so don't forget to add them to the order. - Grab a menu & look for the coupons on the back for a chance to save yourself a few bucks next time on the big orders!

Been here twice now and consistently good. Came for lunch and dinner and Covid practices are followed. Best to call in order and the pick up but I have done walk up and only waited 10 minutes. I have had the shrimp with veggies and beef with veggies and the veggies were a nice selection of broccoli, corn water chestnuts, pea pods, carrots. I was happy prices are good and a decent amount of food for the small portion.

Well run operation for Covid social distancing. Moo shoo pork was very good. Flavor full. Quickly prepared. Definitely will return to try more items.

Nice service with a smile, very friendly. Large portions! I didn't like the rice. Plain Jane, even though I added shrimp. My general tsao was on the soggy side, not crispy like I like it. Food was edible but I can't give it anything higher than a 3.

This place is nasty. I had the King Pao chicken and it smelled like 3 day old shrimp. I hope I make it through the. If by. The egg rolls were bland and tasted like old meat. I don't think anything in here is fresh.

I had high hopes for this placed based on the reviews. Maybe it was because of the volumes of orders they are receiving right now- but I was very underwhelmed with the quality. I ordered chicken broccoli and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons were undercooked leaving the cream cream mixture lumpy and extra runny. I could barely eat one when normally I'd eat the entire order immediately first. I moved onto the chicken broccoli and the order was overwhelmed by broccoli which isn't out of the ordinary for some places. However the carrots and broccoli were undercooked as well and were stiff like they were still mostly raw and unsteamed. The sauce was gooey and tasteless leaving the chicken in a pool of its own oil. The white rice was clumpy and chewy- clearly overcooked.

I would like to say that I'm a big fan of Chinese food. And I wouldn't taste a difference between the fresh Food and frozen. In China one, I had a great experience it was very delicious and fresh made. The inside of the restaurant looks pretty big and very clean. The restrooms are also very clean. I ordered Pepper chicken with some onions. The food was very delicious I've very enjoyed it it really tasted like it was prepared freshly. The tables stand pretty close to each other, however you can bring your friends and that you will still have enough space for everyone. There are many many parking spaces outside. We actually came there on a semi truck but without a trailer so we even had a space to park there.I would highly suggest you to come there and try their food they have many varieties of different kind of Chinese food. Thank you China won for a great experience and the food was amazing.

Many of the reviews I read said this was the best Chinese food in Rochester. That leaves lots of room. For someone to dominate here. We enjoyed our food and it was served hot except the hot and sour soup was on the cool side. The portions were generous and the wait staff was very friendly. I did not read about the styrofoam and plastic dinnerware or we might have tried elsewhere. The dinning area needs a good cleaning from top to bottom. Hopefully they spend the effort to clean the kitchen. The friendliness gets them that 3rd star along with the food.

I know that the inside of this place is nothing special but I can't stop coming here for so many reasons! 1) Their hand made crab rangoons are so good....I could eat a plate of them! 2) Try their wonton soup...best I've ever had! 3) Super easy online ordering. 4) Friendly employees 5) They accept credit cards. We've ordered take out a couple of times from here. Great prices and fast service, usually no more than a 10-15 minute wait for your meal. The dinner options come with an egg or crab Rangoon and you can get rice/fried rice. They have a lot of options for lunch/dinner. In fact my favorite is bourbon chicken which nowadays can be hard to come by. But they have bourbon chicken here and it's delicious! When you do take out you can grab your own utensils, soy sauce, duck sauce, fortune cookies, etc. to the left of the register. We're thinking about trying their catering-sized orders one time, where you can order a lunch/dinner and it comes in a large tray. It's a great option when trying to feed a lot of people as the price is a phenomenal value.

very fast delivery service with Waiter Express. great tasting eggrolls, Mongolian beef was very good, a bit spicy which we haven't had before but it was quite good. would definitely order again. cashew chicken was good also. no complaints with delivery service or food.

You get a really good amount of food for what you pay for. I usually order takeout and it only takes them 10 minutes to have ready. The staff are friendly and hard working.

I am very picky about my Chinese food. So this honestly says a lot. The flavors are amazing, the portions are great, the prices are more than manageable & they have tons of options! I don't eat meat anymore but I can still get several different things from here! & their shrimp egg rolls are TOP TIER

Every time we come to Rochester we look for good Chinese food and now we can stop searching. It is extremely difficult to find good black pepper chicken. Anywhere. Nobody offers it, and if they do they do a slapdash job. This place has the best black pepper chicken I've eaten: just crispy enough, perfectly seared sliced veggies, not too saucy, good peppery bite. I like thick noodles in my lo mein. They use the thick noodles. I like the pork tinged red at the edge. They've got the red tinge. Egg rolls are thicc! The potsticker sauce has layers of flavor and you can see that care was taken to make it well. On top of it all, this place has the cleverest and most thorough COVID-19 takeout setup I've seen anywhere, so I felt totally safe getting takeout. 15 minutes after ordering we picked up 4 eaters' worth of food, including appetizers, for under $50.

Was craving some Chinese food (was just asking for some simple chow mein and orange chicken- ya know like Panda Express)- China 1 hit the spot. Come in for dinner and get all fresh entrees! They make it on the spot upon order. Got the Orange Chicken Dinner Special: Comes with your choice of fried rice (chicken, pork, or shrimp ($2 extra), vegetable egg rolls or crab rangoons, and your entree of choice. The orange chicken was great! It was definitely made with real orange peels- the citrus taste was very apparent. The chicken was not too soft or hard. Got the Vegetable Lo Mein: If you want chow mein (panda express style- noodles), get the Lo Mein! Authentic Chinese Chow Mein is something else. Don't make that mistake- I warned you. :P The lo mein is great- comes with different vegetables and is not too oily. Service deserves five stars! They're very nice and warm. Staff members take the time to explain the dishes and any questions that you may have. Can't wait to come back for the lunch buffet for 7 bucks- what a steal!

The food here is excellent and reasonably priced. Also the service is great. I was very impressed with all the changes they made for social distancing. They closed off the sitting area and covered the cashier space with plexiglass. There is a section between you and the cashier where the ordered food is placed. The cashier has a door to that area and you have a separate door. The credit card machine is also behind the plexiglass with a slot for your cc. I walked out of there feeling germ free. The only things I had to touch were the door handles. I really hope this place survives the pandemic. They really put a lot of effort into keeping us safe.

Our whole order was wrong ordered two chicken and broccoli and one with shrimp. Both things were completely different. Not at all how they have it pictured.

Very not good. Food was bland, low quality ingredients, I'm completely baffled by this place having high average reviews on Yelp. It's almost like if an elementary school cafeteria made Chinese food.

They defiantly know how to do Covid right, great set up! The chicken was amazing, very big pieces, we had Lemon Chicken and Sweet and Sour chicken, super good. We also ordered the Orange Chicken and the Lo Mein, both we excellent. We will definitely be back in the future!

Only Chinese takeout I eat at and I live in Rochester. The taste of food here I like most out of all the other Chinese takeout or dine-in. Lots of flavor and texture(I like good texture in my food. Chicken wings here are awesome! Fast service and they know me there since I always order from them.
