All-You-Can-Eat Buffets Are Back at Detroit Casinos, Asian Restaurants | Eater Detroit

"A Pan-Asian, Cantonese- and Japanese-focused buffet that has trimmed communal-service elements: dim sum is now ordered from a menu instead of taken from carts, the soft-serve machine has been replaced by a freezer of individual ice-cream cups, and hibachi service has been eliminated. The restaurant remains open most days with adjusted operations." - Monica Williams

The outside of the restaurant looked ordinary but once you enter the restaurant, the stone carving meeting you was awesome. Reminds of a Suzhou garden. It gave me good vibes for a Chinese restaurant (especially in Ypsilanti, Michigan - a city that I did not know existed until I went there for dinner on a one night stay in Ann Harbor.) to have something like that carving. It gave you a sense that it makes it "authentic" Chinese food. No one would spend that kind of money to purchase that carving unless they have a good knowledge of Chinese history and culture. The little figures on the carving depicts ancient village life. Once I entered the restaurant, it was full of chatter with customers eating pile high plates of crawfish and other shelled seafood items. Service was excellent and polite. Tables were cleared with finished dishes and tea refilled without asking. Food was temperature hot and fresh. Buffet food trays were constantly being replenished. The Sushi bar had a great variety of sushi - at least ten varieties. The area the chefs worked in was clean; all wore gloves; ingredients were either fresh or fresh frozen (you can see the chefs take items out of the refrigerator when needed so no sushi would sit that long on a plate) and will custom a sushi for you (I don't eat onions nor seafood but like the other ingredients in it). The variety of sushi was unbelievable for a buffet. I never seen anything like that. In SF, it would be a restaurant of its own. There were so many choices of what to eat. I did not know where to start. I started with a few pieces of dim sum. That was good - just like any good restaurant in SF or in Hong Kong - well stuffed with ingredients and right amount of seasoning. Then I figured the other entrees must be good. I walked around the entire buffet and the selections looked tempting, each with its own aroma. Each entrée I tried was flavorful, well balanced with seasoning, temperature hot and delicious. Also, there was a huge dessert bar that would delight anyone - from American to Chinese desserts Unfortunately, I could not take food pictures because it was so crowed. I definitely suggest that "this" is restaurant to go for delicious Chinese food. Also, it was the largest buffet I ever went to - even for Chinese food. I don't think any other buffets can top this one - each dish with its own aroma and looked appealing, especially one that will not break your bank.

Google
I come for the authentic Chinese Hot Pot. So, good. All the OG waitress know me. Once they see on the ticket that I ordered a few side of eggs? They know it's me.

Google
Very good Chinese food. They have hot pot, Dim sum and the buffet option. I really enjoyed their food selections (during my weekend visit). Overall rating should be above 4 stars. I would come back if I am in the area.

Google
Better variety than most Chinese buffets I have been to, so freshness is lost. I was there on Christmas Day, very busy, you would think things would be turned over quickly and fresh. Shrimp poorly cleaned. I don,t want to clean poop myself.

Google
This place came highly recommended by an old employee I worked with. So I came in during happy hour. Now for 16.99 plus tax would be this great bargain. The chicken was chewy it felt like rubber. I can always go for pork dumplings. So I go for some on my second plate. I didn't get pork dumplings. I got pork dumplings with hair. Extremely let down and what made matters worse they tried still charging me something. First 50% off then just the drink. No Sir, you lucky I don't call dept of health. Then they said they would comp my meal. So never coming back to this place again

Worst service. Have been to the restaurant multiple times and tried all dim sum, buffet, and hotpot. I last visited on Wed. The restaurant closes at 9:00 PM. The servers rushed us by bringing the check to the table and asking whether we were done multiple times starting at 8:30 PM because we were the only table left. If you don't want to stay open, you don’t have to. Food was not actually too bad for the price. There was barely decent sushi at the buffet. Servers were unhappy to be requested multiple meat refills for all-you-can-eat hotpot. Dim sum was fine especially with the price and the large portion. It’s worth ruining my mood with the service. Will never go back again.

Google
We came in at 11 when they opened, and the food tasted old. It seemed like they reused food from the previous day and just recooked it. You can tell they haven't changed their oil for food consumption in a while. We also got dim sum, but it tasted like it came out of a frozen bag—definitely not good at all. The server was very rude when bringing us our food, and they served lukewarm water with no ice. This place used to be good, but now it’s very terrible.

Google
Yikes. The quality has gone downhill drastically over the years. The food does not taste fresh at all, nor flavorful. The floors were sticky. The egg drop soup tasted goopy, like the texture of snot. Honestly, looking around as I’m writing this, we‘re the only Asian patrons in the whole room and that’s how you know it ain’t good anymore unfortunately… Go to the buffet in Livonia, or take the trek to Madison Heights to the Japanese buffet next to 168 if you really want a good Chinese buffet

Yelp
They are still going strong and really haven't changed. Many of the staff has been there since before EBS died and they always remember me. While they don't have the carts of dim sum going around, you order from the dim sum menu. They still have the buffet and entrees, but traditional and American. They even added hot pot entrees now. Back open on holidays since they are 7 days a week, you can enjoy the other traditional Christmas dinner of Chinese food. I am looking forward to dim sum that day. Why change if you have a wonderful ingredients of a successful restaurant.

Yelp
I love an all you can eat buffet and this is one of the places that gives you the most bang for your buck. It's $20 and no time limit, so you can just eat to your hearts content. They have sushi and seafood boil, and they have the Chinese buffet basics as well. They also have dimsum which is pretty good for the location and price. The service is efficient and the team gets you seated and you're off to go. They have plenty of tables and the restaurant is peaceful. Definitely recommend this place especially if you're balling on a budget.

Yelp
We came to China Palace (formerly Asia City) for a family meal as this restaurant offered a variety of dining styles... a la carte, all you can eat buffet, and dim sum. It's a very large facility to be able to manage that and to seat so many customers. The middle area contained the self-serve buffet stations while two separate dining rooms flanked it. The decor felt a bit outdated as if one was stuck in the late 20th century. Our group opted to order from the dinner menu which had mainly Cantonese cuisine dishes. A dish of complimentary salted peanuts was provided while we decided on our selections. The first choice was the Beef Short Ribs with Black Pepper Sauce. This was my least favorite as it took the longest to come out of the kitchen. The meat was very chewy too which made it difficult to extract from the rib bones. We should have went with a stir-fried beef dish since both of them were served on a hot sizzling platter. The other items we picked were casseroles served in a clay pot. One was a Grouper Fish with Black Bean Sauce, and the other was the House Special Hot Pot. The latter contained sea cucumber, scallops, shrimp, fish, and Chinese mushrooms. The seafood components did come with a higher price tag, however an additional $8 seemed excessive. The grouper was the best offering of the evening as the sauce was mild and flavorful. I can't comment on the buffet spread because none of us tried it. The service we received from the staff was acceptable. For our visit, I gave China Palace a 2.5 star rating because the quality and quantity of food was mediocre for the cost we paid.

Yelp
What a lovely surprise I had this morning. A family group invited me to join them for Dim Sum in Ann Arbor. Now normally I'll drive over to Canada for a Dim Sum extravaganza. All that motoring around the bridge & customs is done. This is my newest go to spot for those delicious plump piping hot sumptuous morsels - aka Dim Sum. The service was excellent perfectly timed as new dishes arrived every 5-7 minutes. Only thing missing from their table service was the flaming hot chili sauce they serve in Windsor. I have a plan to smuggle in my own firey accoutrement next visit!

Yelp
First time here and so far definitely a 5star. I'll start this by Chinese buffets have been a family thing in my life since I was around 10. The selection of different Chinese foods is good. Hot and sour soup is actually a touch hot and sour. The seafood selection is pretty vast.... Like they have all the usuals but even things like mussels and squid. And a sushi bar too! It's a big/vast place. And thought it was 5pm ish when I got here they got me seated right away and took care of my table as expected. Everything was really good till I got the bill. Not bad but not what I had planned from what I had read.

Yelp
The egg rolls were limp and barely warm. The sushi was ok. The hot sour soup was good. The soup crackers were not available. The employees were less than inviting. The restaurant was pretty busy, so perhaps they were stressed. This was our first visit and probably our last. The cost was $67 for 3 people prior to the gratuity.

Yelp
For anyone who has grown up in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area since the 1990s, will know the area has had several Chinese buffet restaurants over the years. Sadly, they seem to come, last a few years, and then fade away like a passing comet in the night sky. China Palace definitely has staying power, and is not your typical buffet style restaurant that has two unique features. First off, they offer a complete dim sum menu that has been sorely missed over the years in this area. Many of us older patrons of Chinese cuisine will clearly remember the nearby "Great Lakes Chinese Seafood" and "Lai-Lai" restaurants. Both of these establishments offered an extensive selection of dim sum entrées that were fantastic. Secondly, China Palace offers a large hot pot section that will easily seat two, or large group of people together. If you have never enjoyed hot pot, I highly recommend it. There are so many options and you cook the food right on your table. Thirdly, they do offer a Chinese menu, which gives you a chance to enjoy more authentic food offerings. One of these days, I am going to have to try some of the menu selections. Finally, the service here is truly friendly and prompt. Also, when come in the front entrance, you can enjoy the Japanese Koi and toss coins into the fountain and pond for good luck.

Yelp
I have visited this restaurant usually 2 - 3 times for many years. The quality of the food has been declining, but I still would occasionally visit. This week i visited again and the food was terrible! They didn't put our fresh food. The food was cold and was stuck in the serving trays. I will not be visiting the restaurant again. I gave it 1 star because the sushi was good,

J. Sachiko N.

Yelp
I am sad, for years China Palace was our go to Chinese buffet. We were in Ypsi, hungry, husband suggested the buffet. I have come to realize that restaurants have a life cycle. The physical plant has great atmosphere, the staff are so polite, it's clean. The buffet had sparse offerings. Only half the sushi area was served, noticeably two hot carts were pushed to the wall with only one side filled. There were several 'filler' dishes - garlic toast, a pan of boiled cabbage, unidentified fried fish to name a few. There were some tasty dishes, then there were some real flops. Unfortunately, cost cutting ingredients , recipes, and flavor helped us reach a decision. We say goodby, with fond memories of what was.

Yelp
Food was great! There's dimsum all day long and I 100% recommend the shui mai. I still think about it. It's so big and flavorful. Very good place to go for a celebration and their food is huge! Love that it's made to order. They also offer a separate buffet and a single person hot pot. Definitely want to come back
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
My friends and I were supposed to go to another restaurant. Unfortunately, our first choice was totally booked and we ended up here. I had vowed never to come back but reluctantly agreed. Ok. It's two years later, perhaps, they turned their game around. Nope. They are still schlepping the same American-Chinese Sub-quality food that is poorly cooked. Among numerous offerings, the only thing that I ate was Salmon, green beans, and a broccoli chicken stir fry. The rest of the buffet was a disaster. There was too much of a dependency on previously frozen, heavy-breaded items. We spent $48 for the three of us. I left full but not content. Will I be going back ? No.

Marc M.

Yelp
Best hotpot on this side of Xian ! Very good selection of fresh ingredients. I love hot pot !!
google avatar

Justin T.

Yelp
The food is horrible. I got a plate with 6 - 7 things on it and didn't even finish my plate. Which is rare fir me bc I dont like to waste the restaurants money.
google avatar

Alexa T.

Yelp
I would only come here if you're craving dim sum and are desperate for dim sum. The food is fine, but service is terrible. The hostess who seated my family and I was just rude. There aren't many people working, so service was also slow. I had to go up to the host stand to give her my dim sum order and ask for tea. Again, I would only come here if I was really craving dim sum. Otherwise, I would pass on this place.
google avatar

Jason C.

Yelp
I used to love coming here, but after recent visit, I'll be seeking out other Chinese buffets. I miss the days when Ann Arbor/Ypsi area used to have three Chinese buffets and we are left with China Palace and their mediocre food selections. They reduced the buffet tables - down to 4. I avoid the sushi area due to many food safety violations they get. Trying to find decent "Chinese" food was difficult, the turnover on many of the dishes seemed very low. I only found two items that were decent on this visit - chowmain and the clams. Looks like "Chinese" speaking customers came for the dim sum, which you can order a la carte off the menu. I wish I could give zero, but 1 star will do. They can blame covid for all the changes, but frankly speaking that's poor excuse to downgrade their food and selection.
google avatar

Nicole Y.

Yelp
We came here for their Lunar New Year combo which consists of a soup, six dishes, and a dessert for a total of $138. The price is pretty nice for the amount of food you are getting (for six people) but the food was pretty average. None of the dishes stood out as they were either bland or salty. They also do dim sum, buffet, hotpot, and a la carte orders. The interior design seems a bit outdated and the carpet looks old and not well kept. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a date night but would recommend coming here as a big group or a simple night out.
google avatar

Dia D.

Yelp
I've never had anything other than their dim sum here and it is good and definitely scratches the dim sum itch. Recently, we ordered dim sum for carryout and our large group was happy. It was ready quickly considering it was the weekend. We ordered a huge number of dishes and all were tasty. The shu mai and the broccoli were two of my favorites. I would definitely order dim sum from them again when I have the craving.
google avatar

Darlene K.

Yelp
Service is usually pretty good. Ambiance is very good. Ornate areas as this is supposed to be a two areas for weddings. Food for buffet is acceptable but is varying quality. Hot pot is the best thing here. It went from $30 to $20 back to $30 last time we went. With K-Pot opening soon nearby going back up to $30 is in my opinion a big mistake. $25 would make more sense. Overall the weekend buffet is better but cost more, and I cautiously recommend it.
google avatar

Isabella C.

Yelp
Food is ok- dim sum are very hot and very traditional Service are really good, ladies are nice and friendly Environment is very Chinesey
google avatar

Shelly P.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday early afternoon, it's not a cart dimsum service, but will fix your dimsum fix. We read mixed reviews about poor service but we don't typically expect 5 star service at dim sum but everyone was pleasant and kept coming around to check in on us and ensure everything was great. It's very spacious with decor that you don't typically see in the area which was nice and appreciated. Our favourite was the custard bun! Overall we felt the dough (egg tart pastry, Chung fun rice wrap, bun doughs) were very thick.
google avatar

Yelp
Hot Pot ( or Shabu shabu ) is back, BUT no longer can 2 people get 1 hot pot with the other getting the buffet. My wife and I both discovered hot pot here ( Asia City then ) on her birthday March 27, 2017. We loved it and returned on my birthday day in April 10 days later. We were disappointed that it ended on March 31st. Subsequently we went to get it Fuji in Madison Heights and even found a great restaurant in Cleveland, " Kintaro's All you can eat Hot Pot and Sushi " as we visited my daughter & son in law's and on to see our son in Kentucky. Kintaro expanded into 3 restaurants in the Cleveland area and the wife orders sushi and I the hot pot. There you are allowed to share if you each get different. But not so any more at China Palace. We were forced to get hot pot or the buffet, but not both! The wife wanted buffet and I love hot pot so she conceded to get hot pot. To get both is $5 more. The price dropped from $30 to $20 so this is great and we will likely do both most of the time. The buffet on the weekends now has duck, a different steak, and a great seafood boil with shrimp, mussels, corn on the cob, and red skin potatoes.
google avatar

Lila F.

Yelp
Not that good anymore. Grew up going here, had been shut down due to health violations multiple times and always came back with a different name. Per usual after covid the buffet size got literally cut in half. Not a good selection anymore, mainly old/stale looking food. Small buffet seating area that usually isn't busy.
google avatar

Bigmf G.

Yelp
Waitress was quick with the refills and to grab dirty plates. The food is ok. Most food was refilled quickly. The place is large inside so don't be afraid to bring a large group. Really wish they had a grill.

Helene G.

Yelp
Seeing a cockroach crawling around the soup bowls was NOT a good experience. The other stations were fine and the food was tasty.
google avatar

Ray K.

Yelp
Buffet place with all kinds of Chinese dishes. We came for the dim sum with shu mai and my favorite is pan fried noodles and garlic veggies

Lynn L.

Yelp
I ordered my food to go, and unfortunately, after I ate most of it, I found a shard of metal in it. Wasn't happy.

Tom L.

Yelp
Subpar food. Friendly staff but the dim sum is bad. Taste like frozen dim sum you'd get from the grocery.
google avatar

Yelp
[ A couple years ago I wrote a review that focused on hotpot; updating the review now to focus on their dim sum. ] China Palace is the premier dim sum spot in Ann Arbor. One or two other restaurants offer it as a limited afterthought, but for variety and authenticity, this is the right place. (There's another respectable dim sum spot in Troy, but that's a bit of a drive.) If you haven't been here, it's a large restaurant with ample seating. Prior to COVID, getting dim sum here was a great experience, with multiple carts in motion all around, a pleasant buzz, and enticing food wheeling by every few minutes. Well, like many other things, COVID ruined the fun. Now you have to order and wait for your dim sum to be prepared in the kitchen. Some time later the cart will show up with your food. Same excellent taste and quality -- just a lot less fun. (Blame our new friend the virus for that. I suspect they changed protocol for safety reasons.) Overall, still a pretty good experience and absolutely worth a visit. Pricing is very reasonable. I subtracted a single star because service is consistently slow. Build that delay into your breakfast/brunch schedule and you'll be fine.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
It's ok that's all I can say. I'm a sucka for Chinese buffet or most buffet hoping they will be full of delicious tasty food. I like sampling different items. This place has a lot to try, but it's not the highest of quality. I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here if I'm In the area and feel like mediocre to bad I stop and hope. Every time I leave I say I'll never be back but I keep coming.

Yelp
My son and I had dinner here last night. I had high hopes they were quickly dashed. I thought the food was absolutely disgusting. It was old and greasy. I was shocked that my 13-year-old son Jill the same way. that guy eats most anything especially Chinese food. All the pans of anything that was popular were wiped out and not replaced. I could see that no one was in the kitchen actually cooking any replacements. When I asked the staff why this was I was told the kitchen staff had gone to dinner. 45 minutes before they closed ..... the kitchen staff had gone to dinner. Uh... right My son ate a few green beans and a cup of ice cream. I have a plate of rice that was not fully cooked. It was crunchy. For this we paid $35. That makes me pretty mad to be honest.
google avatar

Yohana I.

Yelp
We had a lunch buffet. It tasted good. A lot of varieties served. There is something for everyone from sushi, meat, seafood, soup, dessert and fruits. The server was very attentive to make sure to fill up the drinks.

Yelp
Chinese buffet isn't really my style. Maybe I'll go once every several years just as a reminder about why I stay away. Or perhaps I'll find myself in a position where I need to eat my feelings, although in those cases, I'll still tend to favor Indian buffet. But dim sum is my jam, especially when there is cart service. What I really need to do is return to China Palace with a posse, because my daughter an I were able to take down precious few dishes before we simply couldn't eat any more. And there was a lot that looked delicious. The highlights were the custard filled pineapple buns and the shumai. There isn't chili oil on the table, but it was quickly brought over once I asked. Actually, the service was much better than I'm accustomed to at dim sum parlors. The two of us were slow rolling our dim sum brunch, being careful to take just one plate at a time, and it felt as if the staff might be concerned we weren't happy with the offerings. Quite the opposite. There were so many tempting options on each cart, it made it hard to choose which one was going to be the plate that sparked joy. Baked pork buns and fried shrimp dumplings were okay, but each could have been warmer. However, I blame that on my rookie mistake. Every dim sum parlor does things a little differently. After observing the flow of carts around the room, I realized that instead the carts refreshing their wares in the kitchen, kitchen carts come out to the dining room and replenish the servers. Keep an eye out for those deliveries! As we were eating our less than warm pork buns, a fresh batch came out to the cart, and I was filled with regret. Sometimes that's the way dim sum goes. I'm looking forward to returning as many times--with as many people--as I can to try and work my way through more of those delicious delights. Bonus: Not only is parking super easy, but there is an Asian grocery store next door. So if you're inspired by your meal, or simply want to try and walk off a few of those dumplings, you don't even have to get back into your car.
google avatar

Yelp
I am updating my review since the dinner menu has changed. Currently, it is only one page instead of a book-like menu. More importantly, I was underwhelmed by the evening fare and service. Half the dishes were not the best except for the eggplant. Dim sum is still good for now.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Love going here for dumsim on Sundays. I think it's only available on Sunday. They have a pretty extensive menu with some of my favorites being the shrimp and chive dumplings, chicken feet, and salt and pepper squid.
google avatar

N C.

Yelp
We went here for lunch today. We had the Dim Sum with our friends. One couple spoke Chinese, so they were ordering all our food. It was all so delicious. In the photo I've posted you see half of what we ordered. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Amelia B.

Yelp
Review for Buffet only- It was hard to order because our family was ignored for the most part. We went because it said Dim Sum and we were close by. I need some good Dim Sum in my life without going to Golden Harvest. The outside is sooooo cool. Inside is too, until you get to the dining area and it smells, the carpet is dirty, and the table was greasy. No one offered us a Dim Sum menu and they didnt come back to take our order either. So.... theres that. We were left with the buffet options. I made due with seafood salad, some fried things and a lot of the rice. We wont be back for buffet, but we will come back to try the Dim Sum.

Jeri L.

Yelp
Health department needs to visit badly. Hot bar was cool and cold bar was not. Burnt dried out and not good at all.
google avatar

Bo D.

Yelp
What a sad decline for what used to be a good buffet (when it was Asia City). Very limited selection, and what was there both looked and tasted very off. Worst of all, service was very lacking. I was in a hurry to leave with my two young kids and staff showed zero awareness and I had to repeatedly try to get their attention for 30 minutes just to pay so we could leave. I felt their service was very poor so I didn't leave a tip, and they angrily swore at me in Chinese over the lack of tip. I will definitely NOT be returning again.
google avatar

Zhao C.

Yelp
This 4 star rating is going towards the restaurant's dim sum component! It's very traditional (with the carts wheeling around the room with a wide variety of dishes) and the room itself is VERY spacious. Although the taste may not compete with traditional other dim sum places I've had in states like CA and NY, it definitely does the job for being so close to Ann Arbor! I'm really grateful for this place and would recommend getting your group to try the dim sum here. Think of it as a warm up if you've never experienced it so that you'll be more prepared for dim sum places in other locations. They also have a Chinese buffet component (which I've also tried) but I would give that portion a 3 star tops because even though the variety of options was great, the taste just did not meet my expectations.
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
Been craving dim sum with the new year! Came back here after not having been in a few years. It's better than before. Hectic and busy as always. There was a short 10-15 minute wait for our table because the place was packed. The servers pushing the carts were decently friendly and we got our table filled up with foods pretty quickly.

Yelp
This was my favorite buffet, nay, favorite Chinese Restaurant in town, at least since Great Lakes closed. The buffet was huge, it was always packed, the sushi and hibachi was good... ...The new owners have made it steadily worse. The buffet is half the size it was. There's a broken window that's not been fixed in two and a half years, the chicken is dry and the sauces lack any flavor. They had breakfast sausages on the buffet. They only have paper plates now. And they somehow managed to ruin egg rolls. I'm gonna give them one last shot in 6-8 months to see if they've improved, before I wrote them off completely.

Yelp
Traveling across the country in search of dim sum restaurants, I decided to go back to a place I had been previously. Back when I first reviewed this place it used to be called Asia City Restaurant. They still have the standard all you can eat buffet, but the best part of the restaurant was, and still is the dim sum. Previously, they used to push carts, but during COVID times you now order off the dim sum menu and they bring out the items fresh. All of the dim sum dishes we ordered tasted excellent and authentic, similar to dim sum in any of the major chinatowns across the country. We ordered a couple dishes off the main non dim sum menu as well, which were also very good. Definitely a place to visit if you want to try an authentic dim sum experience in the area.

Yelp
Came here for dimsum at 11am on a weekend. Tables were spread wide apart to maintain social distancing. Now, they give you laminated sheets to mark down your orders on and they bring you the orders directly from the kitchen (instead of pushing the food around on little carts). The food was pretty good but the pastries were amazing!! The sesame balls were hot and crispy, the pineapple buns were warm and gooey, and the egg tarts were were crispy and delicious as well :)) overall, felt pretty safe covid wise since the restaurant is big and you can really spread out! There was sanitizer at the entrance as well!

Yelp
Been craving for Dim Sum and found this place and rushed to it for new year brunch. Actually been here before but dint try the dim sum. Immediately seated but the place filled so fast once we were seated. Ordered Green Tea and chose couple of dim sum like Pork buns, sticky rice , egg tarts, shu mai , shrimp dumpling , egg plant and pork congee from the carts that staff keep going around to each table. Everything was Fresh and hot. Egg tarts were amazing and shu mai stood out for me. Everything costed us $30 which is pretty decent. Pros: ------- Fresh Dim sum Quick Service Friendly Staff Spacious Inexpensive Free Parking Lot of Chinese places in the hood Chinese Store next door Lunch buffet($7.99) & New year Buffet $12.99 Cons: --------- None Will return sure for Dim Sum. Never a dim moment with Dim Sum.

Yelp
Came here for the buffet and it was not great. I did not have super high expectations anyway because their buffet is only ~$9-11 depending on if you go during the weekend or weekday. The food was really greasy and just didn't look or taste fresh. The fried rice/noodles, vegetables, and fried foods were okay, but everything else was either not flavorful or stale. The only upside was that the service was okay. Might come here to try dim sum next time; there were more people on the dim sum side compared to the buffet side which is telling.

Yelp
Dim sum is great. Steamed bbq pork buns and baked salty yolk bread are my go-to. Be prepared to be not so well cared at busy hours though.

Yelp
I originally went for the lunch buffet, but I took a look at the options and decided to switch to ordering dim sum instead. Because the buffet options are too little and the quality looks very mediocre. The dim sum options are very good, and some of the dishes are very authentic such as the beef tripe and the shu mai dumplings (must have!). The shrimp dumplings are usually my fav but the ones here are not that good. Their crystal dumping skins lack the chewy texture that I look for. But if you like the skin to melt in your mouth right away, then you may like all the dumplings with crystal skins here. The flavor is quite good! The service is really good and pretty quick. The chef is willing to accommodate your special needs. I found that really helpful. I'd give a 4.5 star for the dim sum overall; I give 4 because the buffet is not as good.

Yelp
I've been coming here for dim sum for years and each time it seems like there's a new owner and the restaurants name has changed. This is one of the only dim sum restaurants in the Ann Arbor/Ypsi area so it's always my family's go to place. The food is always good and I've never left disappointed. I give it 4 stars because it's good but really nothing special, just typical dim sum. I haven't had their buffet in a long time so I can't review that, but it seems like they have a large selection of food. Overall if you're in the area and want dim sum this place has always been good to me.
