Near campus and beloved for northern Chinese comfort—handmade noodles, dumplings, buns, and tea eggs. Highlighted by Tucson Foodie for top dumplings and admired by local critics for value and authenticity.

These are without exaggeration the best pork steamed buns I have ever had, and they were so cheap for the amount of food I got! They are so remarkably good I could not wait to finish them before posting this review. It did take about 15-20 minutes for them to make the order, but the results speak for themselves; You cannot rush quality, and even the most inexpensive meals can be extraordinary if prepared well. My favorite part is how well balanced the flavors are, how juicy they are, and how the vegetables are properly and fully cooked into the dish (unlike Panda Express or most other fast food replicas where the vegetables are just raw, warm, and soggy). I'm excited to try more of their menu in the future. Basically if I want to eat out and China Pasta House is open, all other restaurants might as well be closed to me; I'm going to China Pasta House instead.

Google
So So So Delicious! I love their Mapo Tofu Rice!!! A tofu lovers dream. The food was ready very quick and the workers were kind. I will be back!

Google
I had the beef tripe noodles soup. It was deeleecious! The owner was so nice to recommend that soup, and we also had a nice chat. Price was great too!

Google
What an amazing find!! The food selections are delicious & authentic, and the price is unbelievably affordable with huge portions. For anyone looking for authentic Chinese food options, this is a must-visit.

The food is great! Family owned! Looks like husband and wife business! Please don’t get discouraged by the looks in the outside! Definitely going back!!

Google
This place seems like it’s past its prime. The restaurant itself looks fairly run down. The staff were nice but didn’t seem to care. I ordered online and the food was ready when I got there. They have a good variety on the menu and prices were fair. The food was very mediocre. The noodle dish I got was good but not great. The flavor just wasn’t there. The bun was bad. It was hard, dry, and lacked much filling. I think this restaurant is resting on its laurels from years ago when it used to be good. They need to clean up their act a bit if they want to continue succeeding.

Google
Spicy hot noodles, cucumber chicken noodles, and steamed shrimp dumplings were all very good. Spicy hot noodles had a really flavorful broth. Cucumber chicken noodles were really refreshing on a hot day. Steamed shrimp dumplings had the perfect dipping sauce. Amazing prices for how much food you get too. Would definitely return.

Google
China Pasta House has a good selection of food and great prices on dumplings. I tried the pork & leek dumplings and they were fantastic and filling for the price. I also tried the pork bun appetizer, but it wasn't as good. There are plenty of sauces on the table (sriracha, soy sauce, black vinegar, chili oil). The exterior doesn't look like much, but the interior is nice. I'd definitely go again if I lived in the area!

Yelp
I really was looking forward to eating here again. I had previously visited this restaurant about 10 years ago and from what I can remember, it was amazing. Fast forward to 3 days ago.......This place is filthy. I had to use the restroom and nearly threw up. There were bugs everywhere. The toilet had been taken over by some kind mite infestation. The restroom is outside the restaurant in the rear with a clear view of the kitchen. It was not clean. I had already ordered food before seeing outdoor restroom. I could not eat. The waitress/ owner was really nice, I did not complain....maybe I should have. I am definitely not going to return.

Yelp
Food here never failed us. My 8 yo son can eat a lot whenever come here. The dumplings and the sauce are awesome. The tea eggs also super. Soft and yummy homemade noodles. Very nice lady owner. And the price is very affordable.

Yelp
This is the worst food I've ever eaten in a restaurant. The same for my friend. I realize that China is huge so there are many variations of food from China. But the quantity that is served cannot make up for the lack of quality. We asked for water. It came without ice so we asked for ice. The server took our styrofoam cups to the back and added huge chunks of ice. There is an ice machine in the dining area that I looked inside of and it was apparently not working as there was no ice in it. We ordered steamed dumplings; they were ok. The Spinach egg soup (served in styrofoam quart cup) was hot water with one torn up piece of spinach and 1/2 of an egg. The soup was hot water slightly flavored with cilantro. We each had one spoonful and set it aside. We had the specials - spicy beef and spicy chicken, served in styrofoam containers. There was no spice in either dish. The beef was small pieces of beef attached to tripe or intestines. One piece of beef, the size of an extra large egg, had two large arteries/veins sticking out of it. I gave it to the really nice server (who barely spoke English), and tried to explain that this was "no good". She took it back to the kitchen and the cook started yelling. The tomatoes were unripe and hard. The chicken had vegetables that we were unable to tell what they were. The chicken was cut into pieces that were the size of a blueberry. After finding the questionable piece of beef, I was wondering where the pieces of chicken came from. Lots of cut up potatoes and cilantro in both the chicken and beef dishes. Everything was served in styrofoam. There were no plates; we had to tear a to-go container in half to use as plates. We were each given a plastic spoon and had to ask for a plastic fork to try and eat the food. The sticky rice was okay. Friend kept saying it was awful and I agreed. We finally gave up and left 2/3 of the food. The server came over to bag up the food and we told her not to bother. We will definitely not be going back. This was my friend's birthday lunch. It was a $38 waste of money.

Yelp
Found this place by accident, lol. I'm addicted! The dumplings are so good! Service was fantastic. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Yelp
It's a hole in the wall place but I came for the dumplings. They have a nice variety on the menu I don't usually find up north. I usually take it to go. This is my second time here.

Yelp
What a chance find near the University. My experience with most Chinese places near a university is that they cater to students with Americanized Chinese food, but this little restaurant actually has some really tasty, authentic Chinese dishes. Everything is made fresh and the dish I ordered reminded me of my mother's cooking. It's a very unassuming dish (stewed beef with tomatoes over rice). The beef was flavorful and the tomatoes were not too sweet and not too tangy. It really hit the spot since it's a comfort food for me and it's hard to find in Chinese restaurants. They make their own dumplings and buns and I also got them to go as snacks. So good and flavorful. I will probably be back tomorrow for lunch since it is right across the street from where my conference is being held. Delicious!

Yelp
Decent Chinese food with a much different scope than most places. There's aren't really a lot of American faves. Nothing fried and nothing sugary on the menu, but rather a lot of traditional noodles and an extensive selection of soup dumplings. The restaurant felt very bare bones in terms of atmosphere. Like neither the inside nor outside has had significant aesthetic changes since the 20th century. I find that to be an encouraging sign! Here's what I had: Kung Pao Chicken--Good flavor, and I liked how the chicken and celery were finely diced. Very generous portion--I only finished half. It just didn't really taste fresh. Like they had chicken prepped from earlier in the day and just reheated it. Pork Belly--seems to be the most popular dish on the menu, and I see why! Quite savory, and made even better with a tiny splash of chili oil. I would get this again for sure. And again, portion was definitely enough for two. Everything's served in a styrofoam box, and the kind old folks running this place sure can cook really fast. I would come back to try the dumplings and other items you don't see every day.

Yelp
Location: Next to the University, Parking lot next to the restaurant Food: The restaurant does have your Americanized Chinese foods. But the real key is their dumplings and other authentic dishes from Northeast China (Manchuria region). If you know, you know. I dare to say one of the most real and delicious Chinese foods in Tucson. The prices are very reasonable and the family run restaurant makes all food fresh to order. Fantastic experience.

Yelp
Triangle Brown Sugar Bun - Okay. Definitely more go a desert item but wayyy too intensely sugary for me. Maybe would've been better if I'd eaten it fresh instead of as take out Kung Pao Chicken Rice - Fab. I wish they had a smaller serving option for less money but good for leftovers. $11 for that much food is a pretty killah deal Fried Scallion Cake - Super yummy! Maybe a little too oily and for that reason I probably wouldn't order again but very flavorful. Tea-stewed Egg - I'll definitely be ordering that again. It's so flavorful that I would only want one per serving. .80¢ well spent imo

Yelp
Since I ordered delivery, I cannot remark on service or ambiance within the restaurant. I hope to rectify that one day. For now, I can tell you about food and show you some, unfortunately, low quality images. The deciding factor for me as to if to order from China Pasta House was the dish of Shredded Potatoes and Rice which included a modicum of shredded pork and enough jalapeno to give it good flavor, without being overly spicy. Of course,I did not know there wouldn't be more pork or jalapeno, at the time, and that would have been okay. Be aware, there is very little of either. Much potato and rice. It is a very tasty dish and if you like the thinking of Dr. McDougall, this is a dish that would sit fairly well within his ideas. He said if everyone ate a traditional Chinese diet the whole world would be healthy except if injured, or something like that. I believe China Pasta House is the closest I have ever come to traditional Chinese food in my entire life, based on what he has said, the writings of Pearl S. Buck and the book Why The Chinese Do Not Count Calories. That it sounded likely is why, after reading that particular dish description, I jumped in with both feet. This is healthy food, not full of oil or sugary sauces. Now, when Isay this is close as I got, I am not trying to imply that this is only close but no cigar. I've never been to China, I've never had a Chinese person invite me over and give me food, then say "Now, this is what it should be like!" I can only guess, based on things I have read and heard. I am pretty sure this is it! I got a tea-cooked egg, which was very reasonably priced and delicious. Never had it before. It's a little weird looking, but I have seen tea-cooked other things before so I got past that pretty easy. The egg, once peeled, has a beautiful marbled effect, in shades of brown, of course. The porked steamed buns are delicious and also differently shaped than any form of bun or dumpling I had before. They seem to be kind of in-between. Lastly, I ordered some soup. The soup is mild and pleasant. I got no variety of cabbage or pork, though, as you will see in the photo. So, in this I am disappointed. Not disappointed enough to demand a refund or harangue anyone. But definitely disappointed I might not order the soup again. As I was preparing to upload photos, I drank some of the soup and realized that even though it had looked clear and I thought I saw all the way to the bottom of the container, there were wonderful things below. I definitely saw what appears to be a dumpling or won ton. Disregard my disappointment of earlier. Tasty soup! Has things worth buying!

Yelp
this place is sooooo goooddd! We come for the soup dumplings and if you haven't had any you gotta try!! Soo flavorful and the price is so cheap! Amazing bang for your buck! Yelp
Very good prices on all their item. Great mom and pop shop whom are very friendly and kind. The food tastes super fresh too

Yelp
The affordable price and high quality of these dumplings were jaw dropping. Another place in Tucson where I felt like I walked back into a small store in China where they handmade all the food and you can taste the difference. The owners are so friendly and made sure everything with our dinner was handled efficiently. The dumplings themselves were packed will juicy filling and flavor. This place could easily become your go to lunch spot for these tasty dumplings!

Yelp
Quality authentic Chinese food. No frills good food. RIGHT next to campus! Highly recommend.

Yelp
The smell of bao buns steaming fills the interior of China Pasta House's tiny seating area. The buns are filling, and a whole meal on their own, but we came for dumplings. For a quick, filling but not overwhelming lunch, we split 15 cabbage and pork dumplings and 10 soup dumplings ("pork steamed buns" on menu). They come with a rice vinegar and soy sauce dipping sauce, and condiments like Sriracha and house made chili crisp are on the table. I also tried one of their many unique sodas from the refrigerator. I can't explain how amazing soup dumplings are. Per the internet, soup dumplings "have delicate skins that encase a pork-based filling and a gelatinized meat broth. During steaming, the broth liquefies, poaching the pork in a rich, savory soup." Basically, it's a very intense little umami bomb. How many people are at the restaurant will determine how fast the dumplings come out. It was just us and another table today so they came out quick. If it's jam packed during the school year, it can be a 10-15 min wait. Total was $26, which is good for two people in this economy. I love China Pasta House

D R.

Yelp
Ordered the spicy hot noodle and it was not what I was expecting. It's chili oil broth with lo mien noodles on the side. Was not a fan of the tofu puffs or what little pork pieces there were.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
delicious dumplings! Got the chive/leek pork dumplings, soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and cabbage pork dumplings. They had the chewy homemade feel that I love. The only tip I have is that the cabbage pork dumplings are definitely not homemade, most likely store bought, and you can tell by the total difference in texture and wrapper thickness between them and the leek dumplings! I wouldn't get those again. All in all delicious! The soup dumplings are a steal.

Yelp
Decided to come today & very very delicious. We had Spicy Hot Noodle, Cabbage and Egg soup, Pork steamed buns, and scallion pie. Everything was incredible. Came out steaming out and fresh with great kind service. Had sauce options including an awesome chili crisp. Will be back!

Yelp
My food had a hair baked into it. I called the restaurant to let them know (already got a refund through Grubhub) and the lady who answered didn't understand English and basically yelled at me for five minutes while I tried to explain and ask to talk to someone else and then she hung up on me because she got frustrated. It's a bummer cuz the food is tasty.

Ez S.

Yelp
Not good and strange, I am also pretty sure I got some sort of food poisoning or parasite (I had the spicy noodles) which was basically a soup with noodles on the side.
google avatar

Tim G.

Yelp
We tried this place for the first and last time today. The lady working there was nice but the food was not edible. I ordered noodles with vegetables and what I got was cold noodles, watered down "peanut sauce" with withered veggies thrown on top. The steamed pork buns were, meh.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
The menu here is authentic mix if various chinese food. My son and I ordered the mushroom/spinach bun which came out as a huge large steaming bun that was both soft and delicious. I had the chicken/shrimp/scallop noodle soup. I was extremely surprised in a pleasant way at just how good the broth tasted. it hit me with a wallop. It was perfectly balanced in terms of seasoning and water to chicken fat ratio. really really good. the noodles are served separately and you add as much or as little at a time as you want. My son has the spicy beef soup. He loved it. It was Sichuan style with the tongue numbing pepper that he loved. The soups above were served in gigantic portions! We also ordered the veggie dumplings. You get 15 for $7.50!! We were too full and took them back to our hotel room. Great snack if your hotel room has a fridge. here too the dough was on the thicker side but done right. Dumpling mostly cabbage but super delicious. What i didn't like about this place is that it's ok to be a divey chinese restaurant, been to plenty back home, but in Tucson you should have ample AC. It was hot inside and not pleasant. Also they serve their dishes in styrofoam take out containers even when you eat in. Not a great eating experience. I assume this is a 99.9% take out place. Over all the food was great. If you don't know about this place, it's a gem in the rough (literally :))

Taylor B.

Yelp
Love it the lady who runs it is so nice good portions to go nice n spicy. We'll definitely put this in our guest book at our Airbnb's
google avatar

Vin B.

Yelp
Service was great... The serving size was great... tastes... meh! We ordered a pork bun. The pork bun was good. The braised pork over rice and the noodles, not so much, it tasted... funky.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
Food was nothing special, though the Bao are good though. Shrimp dumplings were very fishy, 10 piece pork bun isnt buns but is dumplings, probably won't be going back.
google avatar

Carlene F.

Yelp
This is some of the most delicious and affordable Chinese food we have eaten here in Tucson. When visiting our son, this is where the kids always take us because it's so good. We had the Spicy fried rice cake with shrimp. It was delicious. The service was friendly and fast too. Definitely one of our favorite local spots.

Yelp
This place has some pretty good food! My SO and I ordered fried noodles (comes with pork and veggies), beef stew noodle soup, shrimp dumplings, stirfry rice cakes, and xiao long bao (soup dumplings). The fried noodles dish consists of thin noodles stir-fried with pork and beansprouts and a ton of soy sauce. That's what makes this dish so great! All the soy sauce adds flavor and it was definitely cooked in a high heat wok which intensified the soy sauce flavor in the noodles. The beef stew noodle soup consisted of beef pieces, bokchoy, and noodles in a clear broth. It was a solid dish-tasty and great portions. This dish is a delight if/when you're craving broth and some noodles. I found it to be especially yummy when you add chili oil to it! The shrimp dumplings are a good size with a tasty filling, but I thought the wrappers were a bit too thick. The filling consisted of shrimp and maybe something else that I can't quite pinpoint. FYI-the menus here lack description. If you have any food allergies, you should probably ask and let them know when you're ordering dishes. The xiao long bao, aka soup dumplings, were decent here. There wasn't enough "soup" inside the dumpling. The "soup" is gelatinous pork/pork fat that's been refrigerated into clumps. It's cut up and put inside every dumpling along with the pork filling. Definitely hard to master the folding of these tiny soup dumplings, but delicious if you do it right! I digress, but the soup dumpling at China Pasta House aren't bad! I didn't find the xiao long bao on the menu and just asked the lady taking my order about it. I have no idea what the price is for this so I can't tell you whether it was worth the price or not. Last and also least, the stir-fry rice cakes came with shrimp and mushrooms. This dish is priced at $12.00, which makes it the most expensive dish out of all my dishes. I'm not a huge fan of rice cakes and this was made with soy sauce and a smaller portion than I expected with little shrimp. When I come back to China Pasta House, I probably won't get this and try some other things. Also, I like the drink (non-alcoholic) selection here. My SO got a green tea from the fridge and I got my mango drink. Delicious and refreshing mango drink! In terms of parking, there's parking behind/next to the place. Also, the restaurant is small and kinda dingy but the food is good!

Yelp
I love my House Fried Rice! I've been coming here since I was at the UA and every time it gets better and better.

Yelp
I'm not sure you can beat their price of dumplings anywhere else in Tucson. We ordered the shrimp dumplings and the pork and cabbage dumplings, plus two pork steamed buns. A lot of food for just two people. All of our food came out fresh, piping hot and delicious! The Pork and Cabbage Dumplings are tender with perfect filling. The homemade noodles in the fried noodle dish are also wonderful. The noodles taste so fresh, melt in your mouth. The jalapeño in the dish infuses the noodles for a great low heat that builds the more you eat. This spot is the definition of a hole in the wall, which makes me love it even more. If slightly dingy hole in wall places aren't your jam, then steer clear. Service wasn't incredible, but it wasn't bad either, it was just.... steady. Great food. Took me way too long to get here and try it. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
If you want a lowkey place that does Chinese pastas correctly, this is the spot for you. This place had the most authentic menu for soup dumplings, potstickers, scallion pies, bean paste buns, and eggs. It is also the kind of place that you have to look for, even though it is plain sight, right by the UofA campus. The building is very simple and the restaurant does a brisk carry-out business, but they do have some tables and drinks available. From order time to when you receive the food, there's not a ton of wait, and the prices are perfect for college students on a budget. Give this a place a chance and you won't be disappointed (as long as you come before their closing time of 9!).

Yelp

Yelp
Neat little spot. I came here on a scorching summer afternoon. Grab a tea egg, they're delicious. The Chinese sauerkraut with pork on rice was something I'd never tried and fantastic. Their XLB could have been filled with more broth, and the skin was a bit thick, but it didn't keep me from eating them all.
google avatar

Yelp
I fell in love with soup dumplings on my trip to New York a couple years ago. Now whenever I'm in a new area, I look for a place that might have something to satisfy that craving. Here at China pasta house. I have found a pork soup dumpling that will do that for me. Every time I've been here I've had a good experience and enjoyed the food. The place does not look like much, but don't let that fool you going to give it a try and I definitely recommend those pork dumplings.
google avatar

Erick D.

Yelp
Good but a total hole in the wall. I arrived on a Sunday around noon and was the only customer in the place for about 30 minutes. There was a definitely a language barrier. I found this place looking for Dim Sum and this is not a Dim Sum joint. The lady looked at me like a spaceman when I asked about Dim Sum. I had a pork bun which was excellent and ran about $2 which is a great price for a snack. I then ordered the pork and leek dumplings for 15 pieces the price was $7.50 for a pretty generous portion. The pork belly dish was amazing. The flavors were excellent, but I added some chili oil to kick it up a notch. This place is a hole in the wall near campus. Next time I will order take out.
google avatar

Tony A.

Yelp
My go to place for dim sum items. Love their dumplings. A small family owned and ran restaurant. Good food.
google avatar

Mac D.

Yelp
I've been looking for a good dim sum place in Arizona for ages, as I just moved from SF. I almost lost hope but I came across this place. Saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. The fried pork dumplings were amazing! Super crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. I also got the seafood dumplings and shrimp steamed dumplings. They were SO GOOD. The dumpling wrap itself was a thicker chewy consistency that I LOVE. It tasted very home made. The vibe was like I was invited to eat at someone's home. The woman working the front was very friendly and welcoming. I will be back. Thank you so much!

Samy W.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The best place in Tucson for soup dumplings, hands down. The lady is so sweet too - she deserves all the business!! Go place an order and thank me later. This place is 30+ minutes from my house and I'll make that trip every single time.

Yelp
Gosh, I was disappointed.. been to many a Chinatown in and out of USA... liked that it was a locally owned small place... HOWEVER, I'd say the pics are deceiving.. not a plate to be seen.. only styrofoam, worlds smallest dumplings, my "soup" was boiling water poured over some veggies. NOT BROTH.. PLAIN CLEAR WATER!! My favorite places are ethnic.. BUT.. the language barrier was ‍ Couldn't get a glass of water.. pointed me to outside and around to a bathroom that was a door with a padlock after climbing over a mess of pipes and buckets to find it.. Honestly feel that they need to be inspected.. Roach spray on top of soda machine!!! The Veggie bun was ok/HUGE ‍ It saddens me but I speak the truth.. disappointed!

Yelp
Best soup dumplings I've had in Tucson thus far! FYI, their xiao long bao aren't found as "soup dumplings" but rather listed as "pork steamed buns." I'm not a connoisseur of Chinese food, but I do really like the steamed soup dumplings they sell here, especially for the affordable price! I also got their ma po tofu, which comes with a big helping of white rice. It was just the right amount of spice for me, with a good ratio of meat to tofu. It is a small location near the university. There is a dirt parking lot on the side, which is also small, so if they are busy, you might have to park a little bit further. Otherwise, it's a really simple restaurant, with basic tables, 5 or so. It's a typical simple "mom-and-pop" style restaurant, not much for the atmosphere and more for the food. I haven't tried anything else besides the ma po tofu and steamed soup dumplings, but what I had was delicious!

Yelp
China pasta house is a delight for take away. There's not a ton of vegetarian items, but I've enjoyed everything I've had there. There's a few noodle dishes where the menu says "could leave out pork" or something like that. There are no stray bits of meat, and the food is always clearly labeled as vegetarian. My only complaint is that it seems like the steamed buns are microwaved. They are not worth it: crusty, dry, and bleh. However, the dumplings are great, and so are the spicy noodles. My partner has gotten a few different things here. The dumplings have always been a hit. He's also loved the noodle dishes he's gotten, though has been a little surprised sometimes that they are cold rather than hot dishes. I don't know that I would go out of my way to get food here, and I definitely wouldn't eat here, but I love my little neighborhood China Pasta House! The ladies who work there are always kind, and I'm always excited to get some dumplings here :)

Yelp
This is a small family run restaurant by the UofA. They offer big portions of dumplings, good for hungry students. I had the gruel with pork and preserved egg. The rice was still chunky not smooth as it should be, it had very little pork and tiny pieces of egg. We ordered the 30 pieces of shrimp dumplings, 30 pieces of cabbage and pork dumplings and 10 pieces if pork steamed buns, which was soup dumplings not the white pork buns which they have for $1.99 and the scallion pie. The shrimp dumplings was heavy on the dough with little pieces of shrimp, didn't like it. The scallion pie was so greasy it was not appetizing. The best part of the meal was the pork steamed buns and the cabbage pork dumplings. Service was good and the owners were very nice.

Yelp
I strongly urge first and foremost to not dine in. The restaurant does not have Central A/C. Instead they utilize fans and possibly a swamp cooler? The dining space is very small and everything is sticky because it is sweltering hot inside and miserably humid. Its a shame because their food is delicious, fresh, served piping hot, and portioned perfectly. I had the stewed tea egg, steamed pork buns, and Braised Beef Noodle Soup. All of which i feel, are best served right out of the kitchen onto your plate immediately. On food alone i would rate this place 4.5 but the restaurant itself is only good for pickup/delivery.

Yelp
Hidden gem of Tucson! They have great dumplings and for a very reasonable price. I recommend bringing cash when you go!
google avatar

Alyssa D.

Yelp
Don't be deceived by the appearance of this restaurant, the food and prices are amazing. Their 1.99 steamed bums are huge and so full of flavor! Vegetarian options too. I also got their $.50 tea egg, a hard boiled egg cooked in black tea. Again don't be fooled by the strange look, it was such a diverse delicious flavor. I got the vegetarian noodle bowl for $5.99. The portion size is so huge it fed me three separate times. The peanut sauce was so good that I asked for more! My lunch mate got the beef curry. It again was a big enough portion for three meals. I will definitely be back here, even if it's just to pick up a bun and an egg on the go!

Yelp
Great value & generous portion sizes for each dish! The egg & onion rice might be a new favorite & the tea eggs-boiled in black tea is a must try! We'll be back soon!

Yelp
This hidden gem is cheap and delicious. Giant steamed buns for 1.99! Lost of vegetarian options, but double check as I've found a language barrier. They are friendly and helpful, just make sure you are on the same as to what you want. Do not miss the homey comfort food of rice with onions and scrambled eggs. The mixed vegetable noodles is a cold peanut noodle salad, and its delicious. One order will cover me for lunch at work for 3 days. China Pasta House is my new favorite.

Yelp
The good: Steamed pork buns for $2? Yes, please! What a great value. The bun was made well and the size was bigger than standard pork buns. We also had the shrimp dumplings and those were delicious. The bad: There was an odd smell when we walked in and that made us choose to take the food out. When we asked for 10 pork buns (yes, 10. We decided to take out more for family), the cashier looked very annoyed and asked "are you sure you want 10?". Yes, I was sure. And we ate every single one of them. The pork buns with cabbage didn't taste as good as the regular pork buns. Glad I found a place to get dumplings for a great price, but I do think I'm going to stick with take out.

Yelp
In my humble opinion, this is one of the few Asian restaurants in Tucson that I genuinely enjoy. China Pasta House is your typical hole- in- the- wall eatery, located near campus. I was first introduced to this place by chance one day on my way to class. It soon became one of my go-to spots. The price point is VERY student friendly, which is ideal because at times it feels like you can't stop eating their dumplings. This place focuses on quick, well made food. That being said, their service is lackluster. However, I genuinely don't mind. I respect the fact that they want to feed you, and see you leave full and happy. They don't feel the need to chit chat, and I like that. This continues to be one of my favorite places to dine prior to a UofA game.

Yelp
If you're looking for the place where international students go near campus for the best shit out there, this is that place. Crazy good prices, and some of the best dumplings I have ever had anywhere. And I've had a weird amount of dumplings in a weird number of places. The food is so good and so authentic that you'll leave thinking, "Wow, that was SO GOOD... and I would be genuinely surprised if I heard that it was not authentic!" I've never been to China, but if I had, I would probably come to this place and then post a yelp review going like, "I've actually been to China, and this is the real deal!" But I've never been to China, so all I can say instead is, "I've never been to China, and I don't know what the real deal tastes like, but it would be good news to learn that it tastes like this."
