My husband and I will come here whenever we crave for dim sum. Servers are always friendly although they only speak couple of English words. Some aunties will come and offer foods from their carts. They have steamed, baked and fried items. In my opinion, prices are affordable enough.

Google
One of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in the area. We no longer going to Chinatown due to bad traffic and parking conditions. This place has a huge parking lot, next to a Asian grocery store. It’s perfect for going for Dimsum and also do your groceries after. We tried a few dishes with the host/chef recommendations, it was FANTASTIC! Strongly recommended!

China Pearl is a special place. It’s a cut above the rest for any dim sum restaurant I’ve encountered in the Boston area. If you’re visiting on the weekend, they have cart service dim sum until about 2:00pm. Sometimes there’s a line, but it tends to move fairly quick. I’ve never waited more than 15-20 minutes even when they were very busy. The earlier you arrive, the better. The people working here are incredibly sweet and hard working. It’s a big restaurant that’s pumping out a lot of food and it’s always crowded on the weekend. The food is always fresh and absolutely top notch. The owners are very hands on and you can see them helping out in so many places in the front of house. They treat everyone there like family and it’s a heartwarming experience every time. They’ve even accommodated me for certain items that sell out early by suggesting I call to have them hold a few of my favorites to the side and have come through for me every time. They also accommodate our special requests for kitchen items that aren’t on the carts. I can’t say enough great things about the kind of experience you’ll have at China Pearl. This is a must and absolutely the highest quality dim sum you can find near Boston. Some of my favorites include char siu bao, chicken feet, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, egg custard pineapple buns, sweet tofu pudding, beef chow fun with gravy, sesame balls, rice roll with fried dough, salted egg steam bun, salty dumpling “football”, and siumai. There are frequently items that roll up on the carts that aren’t on the menu and that I’ve never seen before which is always a nice surprise and adds to the excitement of coming here.

Google
My go-to for dim sum. I love that it’s still served on the push carts! Very nostalgic! Service is friendly and fast. If you come before noon for early dim sum on weekends, it much less busy. If you do not see something in particular on the push carts, you can place a special order for it.

Google
The fastest restaurant we will eat in and out of! It truly was the worst dimsum I have had in Boston area. The beef rice roll had a strange flavour The shrimp roasted rice roll was horrible The seafood smells really bad and the meat is very poor quality

Google
My family and I had a great meal at China Pearl tonight. We were a group of 14 and had vegetarians and gluten free people in the group and they were so accommodating, Patty in particular. We were able to give them a list of dishes we wanted to order ahead of time and we didn’t have to wait long before the food arrived. I am gluten free and would definitely go back- the food was delicious and it’s hard sometimes to get gluten free Chinese food. Highly recommend for large groups and for those with allergies! They took great care of us.

Google
China pearl in Chinatown Boston is being Renovated. So they are now doing business at a China pearl in Quincy. The place was very large very clean is lean amazingly fresh food and friendly staff. We were very pleased with our food. I suggest dim sum in the morning bemorning between 9 and 2 I believe. Chinese breakfast. 11 o'clock is a good time to go they bring the food around on little carts and then there is a steam table that opens up with some of the more expensive items in smaller portions. If you order from the menu the larger portions are more expensive. Great place best place for dim sum

Google
The dim sum here is Decent. The wait isn't to crazy long. Service is a hit or miss depending on how busy they are . They have good authentic Chinese food at night. Price is typical of any restaurant. Worth a shot

Yelp
We were invited to a wedding banquet! 10 courses Chinese banquet! Very traditional with crispy fried chicken with fresh crispy shrimp chips! Lobster and Sirloin steak! House Fried rice & Garlic stir fried noodles (for long life)! Service is very good and heard the restaurant was renovated! Nice venue for wedding!

Chris L.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years, the food is good The egg tarts are the best. I ate them before we could take a picture. Usually I order more but we went next door to the market and ordered a chicken and Bbq spareribs. It has a huge parking lot but even that gets full. Chicken feet are great and the Chow foon noodle was tasty and good portions.

Yelp
I have not had dimsum in very long time. I was told that China Pearl serves a very good dimsum by my cousins. So here goes. I ordered siumai, har gaw (shrimp dumpling), rice noodle with beef, sesame balls with lotus paste, and steamed tripe with ginger. They were all delicious, rice noodle is a bit chewy but tastes good regardless. Servers usually come around with cart, but most of them only speaks either Cantonese and/or Chinese Mandarin. Be sure to ask for their menu and point out what you want if language is an issue. The restaurant is huge and family friendly. It is almost a size of wedding venue. Despite its large venue, the ambiance is also intimate for small party (1-4 persons).

Yelp
This our go-to place for dimsum lunch on a weekend before heading to the asian grocery. Our kids love the shrimp dumplings and shrimp noodles. We haven't tried all the dimsum varieties, but so far, everything's great. The only downside here is that you'll need to queue up quite a bit. It gets bus

Justin H.

Yelp
One of my favorite Dim Sum restaurants in the area! The restaurant is extremely spacious and well decorated. Plenty of parking available so never an issue when compared to the Boston options for Dim Sum. The line is usually long for dim sum, but it moves quick. There is a wide variety of selections on the carts and it's always fresh from the kitchen! Whenever we are craving dim sum we always go to China Pearl! Bonus: there is an Asian supermarket next door and you can do your grocery shopping after! The only thing I wish they provided as a standard on every table is soy sauce, chili oil, and hot mustard. You have to ask them for the sauces, and when you do, they provide you with a very small to-go container, even if you have a party of over 6 people. A little stingy in my opinion. Overall though it's a great place to have dim sum. The food is incredible and the carts come around really fast!

Jimmy N.

Yelp
Last weekend, my friends and I had some time to kill before a wedding ceremony. We were already there at China Pearl so we decided to give their dim sum a try. Shu Mai - it was actually pretty decent. The flavor was good but it did taste like it was over cooked a bit. The yellow outer layer (wonton skin) was a little too soft. Shrimp noodle - definitely over cooked lol it breaks when you try to pick it up. Chicken feet - flavorful and soft. I would get it again. Overall, I probably wouldn't come here for dim sum. But you should come and try yourself!

John Y.

Yelp
Our family had a baby party here (100 days old) for a set of twins. The food was really good in terms of tastes, presentation and portion. The lobster must've been at least 7lbs and huge. Its sliced up lobster meat over a bed of fruit salad, topped with mayo (served cold). All the other traditional plates were good as well. Keep China Pearl in mind not just for dim sum, but also for their dinner! The restaurant also has been renovated a bit and looked clean-ish. Plenty of parking in the huge lot.

Cin L.

Yelp
Dim sum feels like home. Always packed!! Gal at the cashier is super nice and fast. The staff is so quick. Don't forget the corner where they have extra section of food.

Daniel Y.

Yelp
Hands down the freshest dim sum to be found. I really can't find anything to complain about. Other than the other customers. And that they're cutting the portions on the dishes you get from the hot self service. All the dim sum is high quality and it's a night and day comparison with any of the dim sum joints in lil rhody. There are so many reasons for me not wanting to drive up towards Boston but every time I go I always feel rewarded to a great meal and the washes all my unwanted reasons for not wanting to drive all this way and burn 2hours of my day driving and not to mention the gas used for the trip. But I always get so upset during and after a meal locally. When my dishes hit the table and seeing what I'm getting and what it tastes like makes me wish I've had gotten up earier that morning TJ allow myself enough time for the journey north to Quincy. I'm finishing up some left overs from yesterday's feast. And I've to tell you all that I've always order extra food so I came bring home for later meals and even 5 day old takeout is better than the dim sum you get that sitting at places around here. The steam meatballs here is insane with all the cilantro and tangerine peels "delicious" and it stays the same size not like the local joints where after 5 mins the meatballs shrinks down to half it size. It gets deflated. Do try their fresh mango mochi, it's killa! But save some for me. So there's a reason for the long lines and mass crowds dining at the Pearl!

Thanh L.

Yelp
The food has always been decent. The service is good. The dim sum is yummy. They did a great job doing our wedding. Everything went so smooth. The food tasted good.

Yelp
Three-star is very accurate: good dim sum but the ordering/cart system could be improved. Very similar experience like the location in Chinatown in Boston. Bumping it to 4 stars for two reasons: weekend dim sum start at 9 am (not 10 am like most places) and ample parking. The inside of the restaurant is spacious. It's a transitional push cart dim sum style, where you wait and pick what you want. I went right at opening, and waited until about 9:15 am when the first cart came out. And other carts followed after, but it wasn't until at least 10:30 am that more carts were going around the restaurant. Similarly to the location in Chinatown, it's not exactly easy to flag down wait staff members. If you get to talk to them once, make sure to put in your requests all at once (e.g., more water, an order of something that's not in the cart yet, check, etc). The food is good, but I've had better dim sum. It gets the job done and satisfies your dim sum craving. It's family friendly, and you will see tons of groups here. That said, dim sum is getting SO expensive now! The inflation is real! Also for air quality, it's in the 1000 range for CO2 read at around 10:30 am. Despite the high ceiling, it's just simply too many people. Parking is directly outside and it's free. So it's a huge plus eating here compared to Chinatown (parking).

Yelp
Our regular place for dim sum in the Boston area for the past 10 years. We love eating here and then shopping at the Asian grocery store next door. Stopped here on way back from event in Boston. Ordered a variety of dim sum, beef chow fun with gravy and a plate of Chinese veg with garlic. Brought them home and had them for late lunch. All was good, and reasonably priced. They have remodeled, making the restaurant smaller and updating the decor with new lighting and wallpaper, etc.

James L.

Yelp
Went for dim sum on a Saturday at noon. No wait for a party of seven was a bad sign. Selection was limited and food was just okay. Used to be our favorite place outside of Boston Chinatown but has really gone downhill. We won't be back.

Charlie V.

Yelp
It's been a while since I have been here. I love dim sum but it's hard to find a decent place that's consistent. This isn't that place that usually consistent. However the last three times I went the service was on point. The place looks a lot cleaner and better than it use too. They actually push carts around for dim sum. The food itself is on point. I only gauge dimsum on 3 bars. Bad, great which is very rare for me, and very good which is most dim sum places for me, because a lot of it taste the same for me. This place has improved , so I would go again when I get my craving.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Overpriced dim sum with inattentive staff. Space inside is oddly dark. Food itself is very mediocre; I've definitely had better dim sum. I'd say skip this place if you're looking for dim sum around the area.

Kelvin L.

Yelp
This is one of the worst items on their menu. The chicken tastes really bad. They must have just recooked(reheated) the leftover chicken from their kitchen. Seriously, would you pay $22 for this leftover chicken?

PackUpNGoNow L.

Yelp
Very Good Dim Sum We had a weekday dim sum brunch at China Pearl located in a strip mall that also includes a large Asian market and grocery store. Our friends said that they come here when they don't want to go to Boston Chinatown. The best dim sum was the large shu mai (4), large shrimp har gow (4), stuffed eggplant (3), Chinese broccoli, turnip cake (3) and chow fun. Not so good was the lotus leaf sticky rice that was bland with very little meat filling. On weekdays, dim sum like egg tarts, baked roast pork buns, stuffed bean curd skin and fried sticky dumplings are not on the menu. There are no carts on weekdays.

Tim B.

Yelp
First time in Quincy, after many years of going to a Chinatown. Food was good, but the variety of what was on the carts was very lacking. My all-time favorite, eggplant stuffed with shrimp, is no longer on the menu. No kind of service tables like the one in Chinatown. Service was generally poor, rude and inattentive. Since so many of the servers do not speak clear English (compounded by mask wearing), it is nearly impossible at times to know what they are serving. It would help to give them a card with the English names of the dishes on the cart that they could show people. The ambiance is ok, a huge, wide open, not fancy room with strangely fancy chandeliers. Bathrooms were fairly unclean and poor smelling.

Grace M.

Yelp
Service good Food fantastic Dim sum Pork buns yummy chicken feet tried not for me Tripe not for me

Angel P.

Yelp
I've been to China pearl for dim sum a few times but prices really have gone up. For 3 people, it was about $100. We came on a Sunday morning and it was busy. They do push carts, however there weren't many carts going around so I saw a few people getting up to go to the carts themselves to get food. The "other yummies" food stand near the back has eggplant, clams, shrimp, etc, but was more than half empty most of the time. Food quality is ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to this location. They updated their interior in the last several years and it looks nicer than before.

Robert S.

Yelp
Went there on a Monday for lunch and it was easy to get a table right away. Not many customers around 11:30am. Got a few dim sum items (Shiu Mai, steamed BBQ buns, Glutenous rice tamale) and a pan fried noodle dish with chicken. The carts roll with dozens of choices so you can easily find something to delight your heart. Everything was delicious. The staff was polite and friendly. This place can get really packed during peak hours and days, so be ready to wait in line if you do visit during those times.

N H.

Yelp
They have a big parking lot, which is a huge plus. The food was good and the new ceiling is pretty

Eve K.

Yelp
My first time at China Pearl Quincy. I am always hesitant to try a new dim sum spot, and if it were not for the horrible, horrible service, I would return. The dim sum was good. I came on a Saturday afternoon so there was cart service. Pro: dim sum was good. Con: my table of 5 adults, 2 youth kids, 2 kids under 5 and 1 infant did not receive any, I mean, any reasonable service. We had to ask for everything. I've grown up eating at Dim Sum establishments and I understand that it's not your traditional restaurant service, but c'mon, give me water? Some condiments like your ramekin of hot mustard/sambal, extra napkins? Had to ask for everything... BUT you'll charge me for this dim sum cover charge of $10.00, which I had to ask about. It's for tea for 10ppl. So let's go back to my party; I'm okay with you not asking us first about the tea, and still charging me for the 5 adults and 2 youth kids, but really? My 2 littles and a baby drank tea? You got me on that one. Needless to say, I was already very upset with the lack of ANY service and now the bogus tea charge, I did not do my normal tipping. And yes, I understand how to tip, I've bussed/served for 8 years, and will tip well even off a not so good service, but when I get no service at all and have to go get water, napkins, sauces etc for my table, and I get accosted by a waiter to tip more because I didn't tip them off the guideline, I'm allll set. Come for the food if you want, it's good dim sum. But don't expect much than that.

Steven W.

Yelp
My go to Dim Sum Restaurant since it is not in Boston and they have plenty of parking so that is a positive. The restaurant went thru a renovation and looks more mature and modern. They do the cart style dim sum. Food is still good and good in portions. Prices might have gone up slightly, but service is great, open floor plan with high ceilings. I always love the siu mai, beef noodle, congee, and spare ribs.

Stephen B.

Yelp
I've only gone here for Dim Sum and perfect place if you live south of Boston without driving into the city. Suggest going in there after 11am on a Saturday or Sunday. That's when it starts getting going with a lot of carts wheeling around with food. Plus it's a huge place and after 11am it fills up making the atmosphere fun. Not to mention the food is fantastic! Get some dim sum but also ask for some things off the menu like salt and pepper calamari.

Mimi C.

Yelp
I've been here for dim sum and a couple of private parties. Despite a huge parking lot, it's still difficult to find a spot but it speaks to the popularity of the plaza. The food at China Pearl was above average, it tasted better than the Chinatown location. During dim sum the service was mediocre but during the private event, they were great. 1 star taken out for inconsistency with the service. Other than that, this place is quite solid. The ambiance was quite pleasant.

Cat A.

Yelp
Came in to place an order and was told 15 minutes, so I left to bring my kids shopping to give them some time. Came back 30 minutes later and they told me it wasn't ready. I had ordered custard buns and they said they just put them in the oven. Waited an additional 30 minutes. Pretty ridiculous service.

Eduardo N.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday for their dim sum, at a friend's invitation---it's one of her favorite places apparently. Well, color me unimpressed. The best two dishes I had here were actually NOT from the dim sum cart but from the wait-in-line table in the back: a pork congee that was rich and flavorful and full of interesting bits and pieces (offal probably) of dead pig in it, and a bunch of tiny lightly battered baby squid tentacles. The usual dim sum dumplings were pretty good, just nothing really out of the ordinary. If you want anything green you have to order from the menu, so we got an order of sauteed Chinese broccoli leaves, which were ok but again nothing remarkable---I was just relieved to get a respite from the onslaught of carbs carbs and proteins, lol. One thing NOT to get: the "fried taro" which two of the employees were loudly and ardently advocating for---turned out to be absolutely flavorless mystery goo encased in some pretty and crispy dough (the dough wasn't bad). The complimentary tea was good though. Since our friend invited us, I didn't see the damage but I got the impression it wasn't cheap. Maybe it's to pay for the gaudy chandeliers hanging from the high high ceiling, lol. Not sure we'll bother to return, unless our friend pays for it because while it was not terrible, not worth driving all the way out to Quincy for...have had better elsewhere.

Daryl P.

Yelp
Haven't been here since before Covid started and glad to see it still up and running. Carts were back on the floor which I imagine they had changed while Covid was more intense. Less carts than usual and the hot bar where you'll find turnip cakes, clams and other assortment of freshly grilled foods but I know they will be back! You'll still find you Dim Sum favorites like Shui Mai, chicken feet and short ribs along with a fried selection of egg rolls, crab claw puff and fried shrimp. Dessert of course has to be the sweet silken tofu to finish the meal off. Glad to see this local business continue best they can to serve great food and provide excellent service.

Sarapaan B.

Yelp
I have been dinning in this restaurant once a month for the past at lease 10 year , reasonable price and large portion but since Covid the large and Xtra large size dim sum use to be $4.25-$4.95 now is at $6.95 and $7.95 double in price. Service ? Have to ask and call for the service for everything. They will walk past you and will never ask if you need anything. My party is 7 adult and 12 years old and 4 years old so when the bill come it show $8 charge for dims house fee so I ask and they said it is for hot tea which only 4 of us drink that, the other order soda. The server will leave the check on table so I usually go to the counter to pay She process my credit card and hand me the receipt to pay and I was going to check on 15% tip recommendation but then I notice the price so I ask her that I though was $179 how is it go up to $214 and still ask for the tip on that receipt .... she just look at me so I ask is that already include tip ? and she just nodded , I ask how much tip? she pointed on the receipt and said 20% automatic for party of 6 or more. ( I calculated , they charge 20% from total bill which suppose to be just from the total before tax ) so I paid $35 for the service that I have to ask for everything!!!!!!! plus $8 for bonus charge ?? If I did not notice the price I, would have add another 15% tip on top of that and I'm sure they got that quite often with the large party!! I do like coming here because of the easy parking and usually will go shop for asian food next to them but I won't be going back there for a long while. Chinatown Boston have many good dims place so if I rater pay for parking than feeling like being cheated/rob!!!!

Elaineee G.

Yelp
Taste of Cantonese cooking, "authentic like the old days" as my Chinese father would say. This review is solely on the dim sum aspect of the restaurant. Dinner time dining is different and though I have had their dinner time menu, it was not recent so we will save that for another day. Atmosphere: on weekends they have the classic dim sum carts pushing around small plates of food and you get an ordering paper to get stamped. You'll have to wait a bit for the carts to get to your table as there's only a few carts but they have a "yummies" station that you can walk up to with you ordering sheet to get hot food. It is busy on weekends. The wait for a table will take some time. But it's worth is. On weekdays you get an ordering sheet and pencil. Mark down what you want and wait for them to bring it out from the kitchen. This allows for fresher food but doesn't get the classic dim sum feel. Much less busy on weekdays. The atmosphere here is very Classical Chinese dim sum restaurant. Love the dim sum carts. Only thing missing is the classic yelling "ha gow, sui mai, yee chi gao" Attire: wear whatever you want. Just wear something. No one is here to judge. We just want to enjoy our dim sum with good company. Food: taste is very authentic to Chinese dim sum. Portions are actually pretty substantial for the small basket sizes. Food is not too salt. Flavorful and fresh. I can tell from the rice rolls. Location: easy to drive to. There's a bus stop nearby in walking distance. Price: it's more expensive than what I remmeber dim sum used to cost, but what isn't more expensive these days. For the portion they give you it is well worth it! Food pricing is based on the size of the dish or so their depiction of the dish size. Parking: huge parking lot. Free. Overall: Bring your friends and family. The more the merrier. The more people, the more you can order and share and get a taste of every dish. These are definitely for sharing. Great taste and great portions. Just be patient.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and don't come here. Food is horrible--seriously. Two stars because the service is ok. Theres a bunch of other places nearby, theres no reason for this place to still be in business. You will come in hungry and leaving feeling robbed. The tea is alright.

Phill M.

Yelp
Prior to the pandemic, they had quite a large DimSum menu. Since reopening in 2022, They've recently just started to increase their menu. Good quality food. Their DimSum is equal to anything offered in Chinatown. Large spacious dining area with good parking. Both not available in chinatown.

Ian T.

Yelp
This noted Dim Sum restaurant "temporarily" has moved to Quincy from its downtown Boston location. The location has changed, but nothing much else has changed. The food is great. Very solid. It is impossible for service to be any worse. One pot of tea for 8 people. The servers bringing the carts around don't speak English and cant tell you anything about what the food is. I had to ask if they had an additional dish (Sticky rice) because they weren't offering it. It is unclear who to ask for anything at the table. If you want anything good luck. They are very happy to ignore you. I asked for soy sauce and I got a little plastic cup with a little bit of soy sauce in it. Water in plastic cups. Give me a break!!! I am still going again. Love the place. But why treat customers so badly. No DIM SUM FOR YOU!!

Eveline C.

Yelp
Still great for food and service. Like everywhere else food price has gone up after COVID but it's still great value.

Alison K.

Yelp
This is still one of my family's favorite places to get dim sum! Currently, they have dining in and you can order takeout, and are offering all day dim sum. My family likes to order dim sum dishes for takeout as well as some of their noodle dishes. They are also offering frozen packs of the dim sum dishes so you can have dim sum easily at home. Some of our favorite dishes to order are fried rice, salt-baked chicken, beef chow fun, salt and pepper pork chops, shrimp dumplings, siu mai, steamed buns, chicken feet, and glutinous fried sticky rice dumplings.

Mark B.

Yelp
Good dim sum for a brunch. Friendly staff. Its a simple affair bit thats fine with me. Good for kids too. Tip :- don't hesitate to request the dishes as they go past on the trolleys. I wish they had a few more vegetable options on the trolleys vs mostly fried/steamed dim sum. Very good value tho. 3.5 stars. Regular spot.

Amirtham D.

Yelp
Went for the dim sum around 1:30 on a Saturday, first time there. Was seated immediately, asked if we wanted tea. I'm assuming that's the $2.00 charge on the bill for both of us. Nothing was explained how things worked. The next thing we know, the lady with the cart was at our table with steamer baskets and she was opening them to show us. I'm glad I had read some of the reviews on this site because otherwise I would've no idea what some of the items were. I had to get up and ask for ice water. We were not asked if we wanted any. Also by getting up and walking around, I saw the woman in the back of the restaurant with the cart that you could go up and get dishes before they came around to the table. She also had some that were not coming around to the tables. I noticed there was a menu with pictures which would have been nice to have gotten at the beginning of a meal since we were the first to time is. If you have been there before that, you know what to do if you are a new patron it can be quite confusing. Overall, the food was OK. Medium portions were $6.25, large we're about $6.85 but we were not told if they were small, medium or large sizes, they look the same to me.

Kiki W.

Yelp
We haven't been back to China Pearl in a couple of years and we were so impressed with the ambiance and decor. Also, food is delicious as always although menu is not as expensive. But each dish was cooked so well. We enjoyed our family dinner and will be back! Thank you.

David R.

Yelp
This is a great place for Chinese food that the local Asian population eat at. I ordered the beef chow doom. It was yummy with lots of beef and noodles.

Connie O.

Yelp
Went for lunch on Thursday. (Only because our fave spot is closed on Thursdays now.) There was no wait for a table. We arrived before noon. Only the front left side of the restaurant was opened for dining. Walking in and it wasn't welcoming, just very dark (ceilings painted black and dim. Kinda dreary dungeon-esque. We ordered a few of our faves and tried a new rice roll. The first item was Chicken and Mushroom Rice Roll ($5.25). It was so bland, like they forgot to season the filling. Not only bland but cold. How is this possible when rice rolls are usually made to order?! The temperature was like it was sitting on the counter for a good 20 mins after steaming. The watery sweet soy drizzle gave it some flavor. This was a new dish for us 2nd item: Fried Taro Dumplings with pork filling ($6.95). This came lukewarm. So much flour was mixed into the mashed taro that you could barely taste the taro. There was about a tsp of filling. Definitely not worth the price. 3rd dim sum: Chiu Chow Fun Gor ($5.25) This arrived room temp also but the wrapper was already splitting near the bottom. It was ok except not being hot & the wrapper breaking apart when you pick it up 4th dish: Chicken Feet ($5.95) was warm but not piping hot. It was bland & a bit tough making it hard to eat. We've had much better elsewhere. 5th item: Steamed Char Siu Bao ($5.25). What a disappointment. The bao was so dense (like a doorstop), like they used too much flour so it didn't rise or they didn't give it enough resting time for yeast to work it's magic. Filling was ok. 6th dish: Shiu Mai ($5.95) were lukewarm also. We did not like their version. It was all pork and bland. There were no traditional shitake mushrooms or shrimp inside the filling. 7th dim sum: Chicken Sticky Rice ($6.95). This arrived warm with barely any filling on the inside: tiny nub of Chinese sausage and about a tsp of minced pork filling. Very underwhelming. They are smaller than other spots. The last dish: You think waiting over 35 mins for it, it will be worth it. Nope! Our Rice Roll Wrapped around a Chinese fried dough sticks ($5.95 )not only took so long to arrive, it was room temp . I don't understand how this is possible. The rice roll was made so uneven that it didn't cover parts of the fried dough which was soggy/chewy and not crispy so give you the contrast of soft and crispy mouth feel. Definitely a let down. We will Not return. The 1 star is for the hot tea. Service was almost non-existent. Was asked what kind of tea we wanted when we were escorted to our table. Tea never arrived, 10 mins later. Chose our items on the order sheet but no one was around to take the order. I had to stand up & wave the order sheet to catch one of the servers attention. Then asked for tea again. We had such a hard time catching a server attention that we just ate the dishes as is since we were starving. If you go on a weekday, the dim sum items most likely be frozen (they sell bulk dim sum that you can cook at home) and reheated; this would explain why all the steamed items were cold. They need to add more steam time for frozen items. 2 days later we had to go to Windsor where everything was piping hot and fresh. It help erase this horrible experience. PS. Keep your eye on the food runner, one delivered 1 dish but checked off 2. We had to catch her when she walked by & let her know we didn't get the 2nd dish she marked.

Yelp
Decided to take a dimsum break from Christmas shopping and stopped at one of my "go.to" dimsum restaurants, China Pearl in Quincy. Freshly renovated. Staff friendly and all wore face coverings. Restaurant is clean and well lit. Ordered the staples, hat gow (shrimp dumplings, beef long noodles, congee with crullers, tofu with ginger sauce, fried pork dumplings, stuffed eggplants, char sui baos, pork bean curd rolls and turnip cakes. Prices reasonable. Never disappoint. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Honestly a really disappointing experience. I remembered this place more fondly in my childhood memories. To begin, the food was definitely frozen and nothing special in terms of quality especially with the premium they're charging you. However, the service was also terrible. The lady serving us put our calamari order in wrong and when we asked to change it she blatantly told another staff member to ignore our request in Cantonese thinking we couldn't understand. I'd probably rate this place lower if it weren't for nostalgia.

Yelp
So here is my honest review of this place. Before you order any seafood, please ask for the price. I realized the seafood is generally more expensive here than other places. $75 for twin lobster, can you believe it? Aside from the price point, which is high, the taste is good. This restaurant is very spacious as well. Potions are on par with its competitors. Service was great for the most part. You can have the same seafood elsewhere for less and it will taste just as great. Also please check your receipt, TIP might of already been included.

Yelp
I was underwhelmed with the food here. Although it was served hot and the waitresses with the carts spoke enough English to be helpful, the food just wasn't that good. My favorite Shui Mei, for instance, was an oversized glob of meat placed haphazardly in a wrapper. Some of the other offerings were quite tasty, however. What seemed to be missing was a little finesse in preparation. Compared to Ding's in Newton Centre, this restaurant doesn't compare.

Yelp
Dim sum restaurants are always busy on the weekends, so I called the restaurant before coming to ask for an estimated wait time - the person on the phone quickly told me it's not a long wait probably 10-15 minutes. She rushed and said okay see you there and hung up before I could ask anything else. When I arrived at the restaurant ten minutes later, there was at least 25-30 people waiting in the lobby and outside. I went up to the lady passing out numbers and she told me it will be 15-20 minutes. We waited around 45 minutes for our table. Once we got to our table, it was another 15 minutes for tea/water. After handing in our order card, the first dish came out 30 minutes later and it was black bean clams, not even a dim sum dish. Our food came out one item at a time and we basically were so hungry that we finished each item as they came out. Black bean clams were definitely more expensive than other dim sum restaurants. Fried dough rice roll was extremely salty to the point where we left half of it. The rice rolls were not tasty and everything else just seemed bland or overcooked. It took us so long to get their attention for the bill and to pay that we just took it up to the front to pay real quick and leave. After spending over 2 hours at the restaurant and leaving unsatisfied with the food, I can say that I will not be returning to this restaurant for dim sum. Do yourself a favor and head over to Winsor, at least that wait is worth it.

Yelp
Best Dim Sum in Quincy, Mass! We arrived and were quickly seated and offered tea. While we waited, servers rolled carts with delicious assorted dumplings, fried gyoza, and rolled shrimp rice noodles with oyster sauce. We ordered congee too. Afterwards, we ordered Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. Feeling satiated while finishing off our pot of tea.

Yelp
I came here this morning to satisfy a huge dim sum craving and it tasted just as good as it did pre-quarantine! I even bought a few items to take home with me! A few new things to note: temperature checks upon arrival, paper menu, plastic plates, disposable chopsticks, and all food comes out in one-use to-go boxes. If you still feel uneasy about going out to eat, this is probably one of safest restaurants to go to. The large location allows tables to be spread out very far apart, they have limited staff, and nothing is reused. Even the tablecloth is one-use only, and every seat is cleaned and wiped down after each party leaves. They are definitely worth stopping by if you ever crave dim sum during these times!
