Local favorite for Szechuan-leaning Chinese, family-style plates, and dim sum staples like soup dumplings. Reliable hours and strong word-of-mouth keep the dining room humming.

They even cooked the crab that we brought from 99 ranch. Sorry about the pictures, I was hungry. Hunan cai, but they'll make it less la (spicy) if asked Rating could well go up after another visit. I don't max out first time.

Google
Absolutely Delicious!!! Omg this is the place for great authentic Chinese food. Staff was incredible, the place was clean and the portions was good. Prices is not too bad. We will definitely come again

Google
My friends and I dined at China Pepper at Baseline and Archibald on January 4th. We were looking for something new, and I remembered the place being mentioned in a local Facebook group. Everything was excellent. I think the hot and spicy beef was my favorite dish. What you see here is hot and spicy beef, garlic chicken, family style pork, fried rice, and an onion pancake appetizer.

Google
Soooo good. The food is flavorful and comes out hot and quick. Service is friendly and fast. I got the fried pork dumplings and it had the best dough I've had on a dumpling- thick and soft but still crispy on the bottom. The meat was juicy and delicious. Also got the fried beef noodles and the bean sprouts were so fresh and crunchy and the beef was so tender. It's also so well priced and in a shopping center with a 99Ranch and a boba shop.

This place replaced the old dumpling place that we used to frequent. We stayed away for a while before realizing that the new place served our old favorites. The interior looks almost identical --- typical for Chinese restaurants with big round tables with lazy Susans. Service wasn't as prompt the last time we dined here, but was much improved by our second visit. They do a lot of food delivery orders these days which affects service for dine-in customers, especially when there's only one wait staff member doing everything! The food is what has us coming back! Killer beef noodle soup and beef rolls! They also serve juicy pork dumplings, and delicious pan fried dumplings with the crusty bottoms. These are our go-to food items to order, but the menu offers so much more for us to try on our next visit. There's a crispy whole fish dish we want to try another time. By the way, they have a promo, order food worth $40 and you can get an onion pancake, sesame balls or juicy pork dumplings for free!

Location: Okay, Parking:Okay, Service:Okay, Price for food received: low on meat, Overall: First time try and with so many similar restaurants in the area. It does not really rise above. The combination Noodle dish I chose was so lacking in the meats that I almost thought I ordered a vegetarian meal. The place had one other table full and another after we were leaving. If you want to fill your tables, add that meat. Have a few dishes that are different from the norm with a flavor and taste that will wow your customers. Until that happens, I will have to pass on this eatery...2.5 stars...

Google
The food was delicious! We got the beef chow mein, Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Shrimp. The beef was tender and the Shrimp had good flavor. The service was also great. The server was friendly and accommodating.

Google
I never write reviews but this one is a must, best Chinese food hands down! The beef is so tender and delicious. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
China Pepper is our go to for Chinese takeout! We haven't had a bad meal here yet (although we definitely stick to ordering the same things each time we frequent here). The orange peel chicken is amazing! I also love the beef and broccoli. If you order over a certain amount, you also get a free appetizer. We usually stick with the egg rolls. I would definitely recommend china pepper the next time you're craving Chinese!

Yelp
8/22/25 Cozy little Chinese food restaurant in the plaza where 99 Ranch is located, quick, easy, friendly service, Ordered the shrimp pad see ewe, Mongolian beef & eggplant with chili garlic oil & it was ready in no time. When your total is $40 or more, you have the option for complimentary item, I opted for dessert-sesame balls. My eggplant & pad see ewe were pretty good, not better than most but still tasty. Hubby's Mongolian Beef, on the other hand, was not up to par. The beef was a bit tough to chew. Plus, the menu said it comes with vegetables and all there was-- lotsa onions (it should've just mentioned that, not "vegetables" as if there were 2-3 more kinds cooked with it). Portions were average for the price/value. Would we return? Perhaps, but not for the Mongolian beef.

Yelp
Came to check out this place after all the reviews but did not hit the spot. The dumplings were bland and lacked flavor even though they were juicy pork. The fried cheese wonton were delicious and cheesy. The beef in the stir fry was chewy and not cooked to perfection. Service was great but the place lacked in taste.

Yelp
My 4th time here but first review. I've never been impressed with their service. They tend to be very slow and understaffed. Today they were fast and the waitress was very good. The food is not the best and it's not the worst. It's pretty decent. The portions are good. The beef roll was my favorite. The crispy wrap was the best. I enjoyed the fish dumpling. The cabbage was spicy but not too spicy. Overall it was a solid dinner.

Yelp
Love this place! The dishes are great and prices are amazing for all the food you get. It's a small restaurant with a few tables for big parties. They are pretty quick with taking orders and bringing out the food so it's a good place to come with family and share the dishes. They also give you a free appetizer if you spend a certain amount so that's awesome for them for this! My favorite dish is the xiao long bao, and it's a must every time I go. I also love the cucumber salad and orange chicken.

Kasandra F.

Yelp
love love love this place! They have great hot and sour soup. I come here all the time.

Yelp
Food is amazing. Worth every penny. We will be coming back. Generous portions, delicious food what else can you ask for.

Yelp
we ordered this place to go, the fried rice & chow mein were delicious! But the orange chicken and beef & broccoli lacked taste.

Yelp
Had the Pork Belly with Tofu Skin and Green Onions for lunch. Nothing tasted fresh. Hardly any flavor at all. Could not eat the pork - kept chewing and chewing until I gave up and started to avoid it altogether. Hopefully I can rescue the leftovers. The only good thing was the service - the kind friendy waitress - always smiling.

Steve L.

Yelp
King Pao and Orange Peel Chicken. Kung Pao was just chopped up thigh meat with a few peanuts. No flavor. Orange Peel was dry, not what I expected. Won't be going back.

Yelp
Food 4/5 I ordered the juicy pork dumplings and they were flavorful and I would return to the restaurant for them! I like having a local option for good soup dumplings. I also ordered the vegetable and pork wonton in spicy sauce, they were decent in flavor. My favorite was the cucumber with garlic sauce, they were very flavorful !! Customer Service 5/5 Super friendly staff !! Ambience 4/5 I appreciated that it was not overcrowded , and comfortable. Cleanliness 3/5 Silverware and condiments had food residue and stickiness. Wait Time 4/5 Service was not fast-moving, but the wait was not too long . Cost Affordable ! $$$

Yelp
Take out is always on point. We love the walnut shrimp, string bean chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. Our go to for ordering in!

Yelp
I took my daughters for a weekday lunch on a Thursday, and there were about 4-5 parties in the dining room, as well as pick up orders being filled and the service was still so fast! This was with the one lady working in the front, she was so attentive and we didn't wait long for our food at all. The food was delicious, made fresh, and the service is excellent. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Unfortunately, I found the food to be super bland. I got mongolian beef - while the beef was tender, the overall food and sauce was pretty tasteless. Even lacked salt. Fried rice - again, standard and boring. Not much of a different taste than white rice, tbh. The XLB dumplings are pretty tasty - small (they are free if you spend over $40) but good. The shredded pork/tofu was probably the best out of the dishes we got, but not enough to have me return. Service was very friendly!

Yelp
This dim sum restaurant was sooo bomb! We ordered the cucumber salad, soups dumplings & the beef noodles & WOW. 10/10 we stumbled upon this place unexpectedly and it seriously exceeded my expectations! Can't wait to try more from the menu! On top of it being pretty affordable, definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Yelp
very good authentic chinese food, I always like to calll ahead to place my order. they normally are very busy especially on weekends

Yelp
I went today for a takeout order and spent $136 to give this place a shot. Oh how DISAPPOINTED I am with their overall service and food. We placed the order at 6pm IN store and was told it was going to be a 30 min wait. It was an hour....fine, I understand restaurant can get very busy on Sundays and was okay with it (sorta..) but then I saw a customer come back and return an item that they mistakenly gave them. They then placed the item into MY order bag. As a business I think you should never accept food items back once you send it out and especially give it to another customer !! Just make a new one next time please.. if I'm spending $136 i don't want none of these concerns. The food was of course cold and us not trusting the sanitary of the food when we got home with it. Bye bye China Pepper I really hope you learn to not take food back once it is out of the restaurant.

Yelp
We waited over an hour for our food while families who arrived after us got served first -- even with the same dishes we ordered. No one updated us or warned about a long wait. When we asked the waitress why other tables had already received their food, she gave an excuse, saying their dishes were "quicker to make," even though we ordered some of the same things as the other customers. After telling us it'd be another 25 minutes with no apology, we decided to leave. They still tried to charge us for the one drink we ordered. When I politely asked if they could waive it because of the long wait, the waitress got upset, threw her hands up in frustration, and just walked away. Absolutely terrible experience. Avoid this place.

Yelp
The good: friendly service, affordable. Clean and pleasant dining room with booths. Clean bathroom. The rest: some of the worst Taiwanese-style Chinese food I've ever had. * The meat in the beef noodle soup wasn't properly cooked (and perhaps not butchered well). It was tough and the tendon, which should be silky smooth, was rough and rubbery. Yuck. Additionally, the noodles were thin spaghetti style--that's the wrong noodle for this dish. It should be a wider flat pasta similar to fettuccine. * We ordered 2 types of dumpling: shao mai and xiao long bao (aka soup dumpling). They tasted exactly the same, and not the level of umami one expects in these now-well-known dishes. The ground meat was chunky and not pleasant. * The beef roll featured a too-thick fried bread, and like the meat in the soup it was tough and unpleasant. I hate to give a small business a crap review like this, but in a city full of good Taiwanese cuisine every chef better be able to rise to the occasion and serve a quality product, even at a reasonable price point. China Pepper was a massive fail on food quality and taste.

Yelp
I love this place. Pretty much every on the menu is delicious and large portions. Will not disappoint. Be sure to spend $40 and u get a free app. 4 selections. However do not expect top tier service. It's just ran by like 2/3 people. So be nice and give them time. Very nice owners. Lots go Togo orders and friday evening is crazy traffic. My goto is the salt and pepper pork ribs and the orange peel chicken. Both crispy and savory. Recently tried the beef rolls + dumplings + pan fried pork buns. Very delicious. Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
I don't know why I never come here where i passed by here at least twice a month if not more. That night was quite busy and we ordered Walnut shrimp which I like its crunchy in the outside and nice size shrimp in side. Also crispy noodle at the bottom instead of cabbage. The shrimp fried rice is good eventhough I ordered with pineapple but I don't find them.. understandable its busy night. The steamed fish is tasty I like it and MSG free to be that good. Now the good part is they have Free stuff if you order $40 pre tax, so we asked for XLB. Wow the juice inside... just Yummy. Ambiance is cozy, clean and family friendly. Parking is easy there is 99Ranch market in the same complex. I will for sure be back to try different stuff. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Food is always great at the spot, and we get our typical string beans, lamb, and dumplings. The price is reasonable and portions generous. This is our spot to visit before walking the food off at 99 ranch (next door) whenever we go there to grocery shop
google avatar

Yelp
AMAZING food!! i love china pepper! the prices are very affordable and a good size. the food here is served family style so the whole table shares it. the service at times can be a little slow but that's because they usually have two people doing the serving. however, they are extremely friendly and never forget anything i ask them for (ie. napkins, water, etc.). the restaurant itself is always clean and well decorated. they have round tables that are good for large families, at these table there is a turn-table in the middle which is very convenient for sharing food. overall great restaurant! we cater from china pepper for our parties and it's always a huge hit!
google avatar

Drew E.

Yelp
The food was great and the staff are friendly. Definitely coming back. Nice and clean environment.

Yelp
Very well seasoned! Very large portion sizes. Tasty and fresh. Got the orange peel chicken, green beans, and house special egg tofu. Delicious

Yelp
Located at the same plaza as Ranch 99 Supermarket, we chose this place for dinner after our weekly grocery shopping. The lady who welcomed us was really nice. The place is really have thick Chinese ambiance through its decoration. We were actually not that hungry but the food varieties made us order more than we can eat, LoL Beef Roll: 5 out of 5 Salt & Pepper Pork Rib: 5 out of 5 Shrimp Walnut: 4 out of 5 (the pic represents less sauce and due to the fact I do not eat anything sweet). AND since our order exceeded $40 value, we were entitled for one menu of appetizer and we picked the steam juicy dumpling (consist of 8, very generous!) Steam rice cost $1 and it was big portion and chinese tea for $1.5. None of the food we ordered tasteless, and I can say confidently that the rest of menus are not disappointed either!
google avatar

Esther T.

Yelp
Food is good. Service is friendly. The wait for food is very, very long. Lots of takeout or door dash orders. The flavor is good, probably a little too oily and salty but that's average for most Chinese restaurants. We probably won't be back because it takes too long.
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
This is without a doubt the best Chinese food the IE has to offer. The Wontons, pork Dumplings, orange chicken, pan fried noodles, beef soup and fried rice were amazing.
google avatar

Stormy G.

Yelp
This place is 1.2 miles from my home and I would jog there for their food if I had to! I always order to go and every time the place is packed! So delicious EVERYTIME TIME!
google avatar

Yelp
Chicken n brócoli, fried rice shredded pork, pork bun bbq (Honestly made fresh and sweat). Last time we tried the veggie fried rice and it was great.

Yelp
I love this place (pretty sure it's family owned) and the lady at the phone/counter is always very nice and welcoming. I've been a few times now and the food is flavorful and I haven't picked anything I haven't enjoyed yet! Definitely a must try if you're nearby!

Yelp
Just want I needed feeling a bit under the weather The food was delicious. The service was good but short staffed so be patience
google avatar

Yelp
The fried rice was delicious and the shrimp were amazing. The noodles were kind of unflavored. I'm not quite sure if they did not season them, but they were still delicious.

Yelp
If you like spicy Chinese food and large portions, this is the place for you. The majority of the food on the menu are spicy items. There are also a few non-spicy items, but this place is for those of us who love spicy food. I was there on a Friday early evening. Not many people there at first, but after about an hour, the place was packed and they were busy with take out orders also. You get large plate portions. The things that I ordered, you could easily feed 3 to 4 people off of each dish. 1. Hot tea 2. Water 3. 1 soda 4. 4 egg rolls 5. Cashew chicken (not spicy) 6. Szechuan Pepper Chicken (very spicy) 7. Chicken fried rice When they get busy, service to the dining area slows down. Be prepared to relax, just take it easy with some good hot tea and enjoy the food when it comes out.
google avatar

Jessi R.

Yelp
Consistently good food and kind people. My family has been getting takeout from here for at least a few years and I can't recall them ever getting our order wrong. The kids especially love the juicy pork dumplings and the BBQ pork buns, but everything else we've had has been good too.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday night around 7. We ended up here because PFChangs had an hour and a half wait. The place is pretty small. There were plenty of open tables. They have a pretty big menu. Lots of authentic Chinese dishes to choose from. We had the trotter soup, ma po tofu, orange chicken, and veggie fried rice. The soup came out first and it was BIG bowl of soup. Definitely for sharing. My mom said the broth was kind of bland but the trotters were good and I think they give you like 6 or so trotters. They were good. A while later the orange chicken came out. It was fresh fried and looked delicious. The chicken wasn't dry. Then a while later after that, the fried rice came out. It was good and I liked that it actually had veggies in it and not the usual peas and carrots. Then the eggplant came out. Big pieces of eggplant in tasty brown sauce cooked till a little mushy but delicious nonetheless. Then after a while more, the ma po tofu finally came out. This was a good portion. It was very flavorful, I haven't had ma po tofu this good since I was in LA. It was just tofu with the sauce, no meat. You have to pay separately for steamed rice if u want it. If you spend over 40$ u also get a free appetizer. The food was all good but... it was cold in there. They had the doors wide open on a cold night and there were a couple of gnats flying around the dining room. Our food took a while to come out and like I said, everything came out separately and took a while between dishes. Plus the waitress never came back to check on us, we had to ask for the check. So the service is lousy but the food is soo good I would totally go back.

Yelp
I spent just shy of SIXTY DOLLARS on THREE ITEMS. Hot and sour soup was watery, bland and just not good. Black pepper beef was overrun with huge garlic cloves. I've never even seen that. The beef pieces were well cooked but the garlic had permeated the entire dish which had massive onion slices added. Oh, I did get one piece of broccoli. Picked through to the edible beef and tossed it out. Raccoons ran from my cans so that's a plus I guess. The sweet and sour pork ribs. Oh I needed a zoom meeting with a mental health professional. It was literally 4 small to medium ribs drowned in so much horrible sweet/sour sauce it was insulting and the best part, the rib I did try was so gamey I thought it was Sasquatch meat. The finale...That for ALL that money and no white rice! What?! I was infuriated. Maybe I could have checked into that but what you talkin bout Willis. HIDE YOUR WIVES. HIDE YOUR CHILDREN AND HIDE YOUR HUSBANDS BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKING EVERYBODY'S MONEY.

Yelp
The foods tastes are not good, but the portion were large for the price. Had three dishes for $60 and also earned a free small side dish. Not recommended if you are craving for good Chinese food.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm from the UK and been dying to find a place since I moved here that does Sweet & Sour Chicken with SEPARATE sauce & FINALLY I have LOVE IT SO MUCH never change it!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
If you want any service don't come here. I sat down and waited awhile, no one came. I had to get up and grab my menu and waited awhile longer until someone came to take my order. No water after I asked for some. Absolutely nothing. The food is good, but good luck getting any service. They need to hire 1-2 people to accommodate the customers. I will not be returning.

Justine C.

Yelp
The food was not fresh, lukewarm temp. We could barely eat what we served ourselves. I don't know why it is such high ratings. Go somewhere else. These are the pictures after 3 adults tried, that's how terrible it was.
google avatar

Aaditya S.

Yelp
This was Mins Dumpling House before. There are still some Mins out there. One in South Corona in Inland Empire and also one in Chino Hills CA. The menu is very much the same. The service is also still the same. There are always behind in their orders and rude when you ask them after 1 hour about your order. Mind you one hour in and we still didn't receive our order. They are always short staffed. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is cause if their food. Their food is decent. The price and the quantity is very much on par. The ambiance is same as mins dumpling house. It's a big space with less staff members. Again order family style and you won't be disappointed. Also they have good options for vegans and vegetarian folks.

Eric C.

Yelp
I spent $64 dollars at this place and it didn't even taste like chineese food. The chow mein was over cooked, the fried rice was horrible. It taste like a 9 year old kids cooking. Never go to this place...
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Waited 40 minutes to finally get drinks and have my order taken. Only reason why we didn't leave was because we had our 10 month old and didnt want to pack up all our stuff and go somewhere else. When we finally got our food, no one came back at all. A few people came after us and were served right away. Never coming back here. Terrible service.

Oscar V.

Yelp
Don't ever come here, no joke in the hour I was there waiting to be attended to and served, 3 tables left before I left. I didn't even get a chance to eat the food, with how long it took to get it even after 40 min of waiting they said we had to wait an extra 30 before it was ready. Finally had enough got up and left never ever coming here again.

Yelp
We ordered China Pepper delivery tonight. Food arrived piping hot and swiftly. We are new to the area so can't compare it to other Chinese restaurants but it was really great! My husband was very impressed with the pan fried pork buns. I was, too, but he is far more critical in his food reviews. They had a perfect crispy bottom and were not dried out at all! We also ordered the sweet & pungent spare ribs (7/10) and the chicken with garlic sauce (7/10). Both entrees were above average and met our expectations. Chinese food is always better in restaurant when served fresh! We can't comment on the ambiance of the restaurant, but our food order was packaged well (no spillage), delivered quickly and our order was correct!

Yelp
Certified Great Chinese food. Unique food choices. Salt and pepper chicken, chicken chili, green beans all of it so good. Affordable and delicious. Hope this place never closes. Servers are so awesome.

Yvette C.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing! So worth the drive. Will be telling all my friends and family about this place.
