This is a Buffet Chinese Style the owners I assume and Team speak SPANISH AND THEY ARE CHINESE!!! This PLACE IS AWESOME! You see the rainbow of nationalities here all wanting the same thing good food for a fair price. The food is what you would expect for a $11.99 Lunch Buffet and is well priced, they also have Takeaway service which is awesome. Atmosphere is authentic, not flashy put together as you would expect for a Chinese buffet. It is like any authentic Chinese restaurant or food court. It is not the Las Vegas Strip. It is self serve and the people are amazing. This is not a 5 Star Michelin Star establishment it is for people who want a full belly at a fair price the 3 star rating I assume is from people that expect a 5 star experience for $11.99 lunch. It is an Authentic Chinese Buffett price at $11.99 for lunch. I love this place cheaper and better than any Fast Food in the area also real food vegetables, meats, salads, rice, fruits, desert etc high turnover so it's fresh. For the price it's GREAT! Better than any Fast Food in the Area! I and my wife HAVE A FULL BELLY WITH REAL FOOD!

As an All-You-Can Eat restaurant, the China Star is great. I have eaten there on ma y occasions and have not been disappointed yet. They make fresh sushi and have a good selection of other options as well, including crab, shrimp, BBQ, pizza, fries, salads, rice, noodles, chicken, etc.

Excellent price for the buffet at only 15.95 per adult for the dinner and weekend which includes blue crabs and oysters. Things are really fresh because the low price attract a lot of customers there for the food gets eaten up and replaced.

Me and my family come here every 2 months or so and it's always so damn good. I'll admit some of the food is a bit greasy but damn does it hit the spot for a treat every once and a while. The staff has never been rude or anything to us and it's an overall pretty good place. I'm not sure why some say the atmosphere is off? Maybe it's just because I've been going there so long I don't notice it? But I think it's pretty nice I like the chandelier and the different colored lights with the pretty art up. Plus they have an ice cream machine 😋.

I’m going to start with the bad… The atmosphere was on the uncomfortable side, Not sure if it was the lighting or the decorating on the inside… Service was decent, food was decent , The best part was the pricing (15.99 plus tax)… So overall best bang for the buck at this place. I do recommend this place anytime you want to get full in Vegas 👍

We came here on the second day of a two-day trip to Las Vegas. It's too late to know about this place, but I have already saved it as my favorite place. Every meal is delicious, and there is a vast space. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it for a family group.

Our expectations were not only met but exceeded what we initially thought due to what it's currently reviewed. Food was fresh, plentiful and at a fiscally responsible price! Eat here with no regrets & enjoy a quality experience! Endless shrimps and sushi! 10/10 highly recommend!

The food was pretty good for the price! The black chicken pepper was pretty chewy and hard to break down though and the waitress forgot what I ordered to drink. Other than that, those were my only concerns. You can't go wrong with good Chinese food, and this place found the happy medium for price vs. quality. There were a lot of people and the food was very fresh. I would definitely recommend having lunch here!

I've always been a sucker for a good Chinese buffet, I mean, it's the best possible thing when you are starving and infective, right? I've lived super close to this China Star for a few years now and this was my second time coming in to fill my stomach with delicious buffet food. My wife and I came here around 6:30 last night and were seated quickly, given drinks, and what else can you really ask for from a buffet? Great service in my opinion. We got to filling our plates right away and went with a wide selection of various chicken dishes including chicken wings, some shrimp, sushi, fried rice, French fries, some sort of beef dish, and an array of other things. My second dish had a slice of buffet pizza because my curiosity will forever get the best of me (honestly, It was solid enough), and a mixture of what I wanted more of from the second plate. I'm not gonna break down every single thing because it's literally a Chinese buffet, we know what we sign up for when we go to a place like this. The quality of the food here is much better than similar places and I honestly enjoyed every single item that I tried. Obviously, it's not gonna match an actual sushi restaurant or a higher end Chinese joint, but the food is good, fairly priced, and what else could you possibly want? Overall, China Star is a wonderful buffet joint if you just want to recklessly stuff your face and deal with the repercussions of fullness after. The restaurant was clean, the staff was quick, and the food did everything I was hoping for.

ALMOST everything was great here.... Except for the crab, it was mushy, smelled weird, and tasted rancid. I told several servers, and also the cashier.. they all just ignored me. No one attempted to check, or remove the crab. All the other foods were fine. However, their lack of concern makes me wonder how their BOH handles, and prepare food. Typically, I would give places another try.. somewhere down the road. But not this time! Rancid seafood can make you gravely I'll, or kill you. This I cannot take a chance on!! We will see if this establishment acknowledges my post.. If they don't it would be quite alarming!! This may indicate they are used to bad reviews.

I last went to this restaurant maybe about three years ago and was very disappointed by the food options. I watched a recent YouTube video on this restaurant and it looked like a different place. Last Saturday I tried china star and was very happy. Sushi, fried crab, along with many other options. They didn't keep up with the sushi. Not many options. The did keep up with everything else including the crab. Our waitress was nice and friendly. The place was bright, clean, with Chinese accents. $15.99 plus tax and a drink. Hot tea not included. Great place great price.

First time We stumbled upon the restaurant by accident and decided to give it a try! Firstly, we were greeted and sat immediately, so that was a plus. We got there shortly after they opened, so all of the food was nice and fresh! Now, I did have some concerns. My biggest one being with pretty much all of the food items at the buffet being labeled incorrectly. As someone who has some food allergies, I see this as a big red flag. Of course, the obvious things like the lo mein being labeled as fried rice are easy to spot, but this mislabeling can be potentially dangerous for people with more severe allergies to things that are more difficult to differentiate between. While the food I had from the hot buffet area was decent and very fresh, the sushi display was a bit less than appealing. That's definitely not what people are coming for. However, the price was right ($11.99 for adults for lunch on weekdays), the service was quick and kind, and the food, although mislabeled, tasted pretty good! If we ever just wanted a well priced Chinese buffet to go with friends to stuff our faces, we would return.

Food is good. Most of it at least. Personally not a fan of their sushi, i prefer fresh sushi. Not too bad for a chinese buffet and the prices are great for buffet!! Really comes in hand when youre low on money but need a decent meal!

The food was not good at all nothing I ate was good expect for the fruit than we decided not to tip and the lady helping us threw the receipt I don't know what's worst the food or the service. 1 out of 10 don't recommend. I only give a two stars because the guy at the door was nice.

My friend's birthday is today and this is one of his favorite restaurants. Quality/Quantity - Overall, there was a good enough selection, especially for the price of $11.99 + $1.79 for a soda. I normally don't even get a soda, but we were celebrating his BDay, so what the heck. :) The food was made fresh and was replenished as needed. But I did not come here for the food, I came here for my friend and he really, really likes this place. He comes here with his family on Sundays and says there is a line out the door! Normally I overeat at buffets; I am so proud of myself for NOT doing that today! Sushi = Rice forward, minimum flavor, even with soy sauce... Fried Chicken Wings - My favorite of all the meats. Mongolian Beef - Was good as well, but almost no beef. I think it got all picked out. Shrimp with Veggies - Another one of my favorites. Everything else was just okay. Atmosphere - Good size buffet. Clean. Actually, it looks larger than it is, well at least for me. Maybe I am just too picky...? And I knew I was going to Spago tonight and didn't want to overeat here. Yes, my daughter picked tonight's restaurant also. :) Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 9:30pm; hours on Yelp are wrong as we came here for a late lunch. Also, I am told they stop cooking at 8pm, so come early. Service - They have a 90 minutes time limit, but not a lot of customers today, so I did not see them enforcing it. Basic service; seated us, refilled our sodas, I declined the refill, and then when they saw me eating the ice cream, they brought us the check. Price - $30 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success. Maybe I will see you next year for my friend's B-Day again.

I haven't found a great Chinese buffet in Las Vegas yet, and China Star is no exception. Don't get me wrong, everything was very passable. Service was good, space was clean and light, and there were a lot of options. However, sushi was all pretty subpar, the chow mein was also pretty sub par, and the shrimp options were somewhat rubbery. The soup was good though, as were the crab rangoons, and of course for $14.99, I really can't complain at all. Overall, I can't say I'd be back, but if you're looking for a decent cheap Chinese buffet, I'd say this place is as good as any other!

Ok place to grab quick lunch. It's sad to say that a real good Chinese buffet is yet to be found in Vegas, so keep your expectations low.

Went there for dinner and got good poisoning and was in bed for 2 days while on vacation.

When I visit three times. Cashier(Chinese women)said to me. You eat too long time. You have to eat until three times in a hour. You have to eat in a hour. If you don't want.go out please. This Chinese women cashier is very rude and brutally. This cashier is over 47years old. this is not buffet. I don't go to this restaurant no more.

Ahhhh, I really enjoyed myself at dinner this past Saturday. The restaurant was full enough to maintain the rotation of food going, and that's the best part for me The food was better than ever! Will be eating out more, glad to say very soon starting mid December! Can't wait to try out some new places on my bucket list! Good Chinese is always on my Top 10 list? And this place was sooo good this time, I didn't even need seconds? That says alot at an All You Can Eat Buffet! I still can't even believe how good everything was! China Star is improving more & more and the quality is also. The atmosphere is relaxing, clean and a gracious service too as always..who can ask for more? They even added Sushi, (which I don't particularly like?) But they do offer it. It was a great way to start the month off in December! I posted a picture of my 2 plates with my favorites. Their Chow mein noodles were extra yummy this time & not as thick, I noticed. Keep it up, China Star. See you again... soon

This is the worst Chinese buffet I've been to, hands down. The sushi was disgusting, not fresh, ick. I was afraid to try the shrimp, the honey walnut chicken was tasty but chewy. The only good thing was the won ton soup. Sad. The bathroom smelled like a sewer and they're was no cover on the back of the toilet. Water all over the floor. The other China Star was pretty good, this one? Never. Again.

The food was alright but the ice cream was spoiled and the soda was not good at all my stomach started hurting

Ok, but some stuff is way overcooked. Service can be spotty. We went on a Saturday night and they had real sashimi, oysters, sushi rolls and blue crab. A nice spread on the weekends! Nice decorations inside. Usually better than most similar type restaurants.

This was one of the most foul establishments I have ever had the displeasure of dining at. Somehow the low price was still overpriced because the food was so nasty. After a single plate I had horrific nausea and acid reflux, hitting me like a train. They do not have a bathroom accessible so I had to speed home and puke. The food is so greasy it could solve the oil crisis. The person I was dining with also got sick, and they had horrific cramps and had to take medication to stop the pain. Vegan options here are hogwash, only fruits. Everything else available is week old seafood taken off the bottom of the lake mead. The cream cheese Rangoons were 90% sugar and 10% Rangoon. The fried chicken was electric yellow, like big bird. The egg drop had pools of grease, it seemed like a homeless migrant stuck their foot in the pot. I saw patrons picking up the oyster next to the puddings and deserts and inbreeding the liquids that came off of both. The custard was one of the worst things I have ever tried. I spit it out immediately. If you wanted to eat egg a puffy, wet, sweetened egg salad you are in luck. The food here is truly one of a kind that being it's one of the worst things I've ever tried oily greasy, bland, wet, and suspiciously sweet. The employees will sit and glower you like they're anticipating you're going to steal one of their old antique plastic mass produced plates from the Dollar general. Not only that they are clearly expecting a tip, which is absolutely absurd. They stare at you until you put your precious earned money on the tables that are not clean by any stretch of the imagination. The air here was thick as sin so if you require oxygen, do not go here. It'll be a miracle if I'm not in the emergency room by tonight I sent a message to my loved ones expressing that I might die from the "cuisine" here. Do better China Star.

A friend who lives in Vegas brought me here for lunch. We went just as the doors were opening. Food was fresh. Selection had a good variety. Very affordable!!! I hope tourist don't discover this place and they don't raise prices. Will definitely go there next time in Vegas. One hint to know if the Chinese food is good is to notice if a lot of the cliental is Chinese, speaking Chinese.

Look it's not my favorite Asian buffet but it's my grandsons fav so as a good grandpa that's where we go. The food is nothing special but I usually find enough that I like . I have to be honest the place is slightly run down. Now here's the thing - every single time I've been here -I have received very friendly service . So that's what brings me back . Reasonable pricing and fair selection of food . The place does get crowded so try to go early before the crowds come . So final review? It's better than McDonald's and people who work there are friendly to me . So me and my grandson will be coming back

Haven't been here in years, and I checked Yelp before going to see the times open and get an idea of the pricing if possible. It says they open at 4pm, which isn't true. They open at 11am. Walked over from Walmart where we were originally, so got there about 4:06pm - which switched over to dinner time. No biggie. It was really good, tons of options, lots of different dishes kept switching during the time we were there. Good amount of seafood dishes too. It was an awesome treat for my Mom and I after a stressful (but absolutely beautiful) day. Service was good, it's a laidback family like setting, just as I remember it. It was good to still see this place around.

I came in with my mom she is 91. She got sick when she came home. Food was ok. But terrible service. The lady at register obviously does not know nothing about customer service. She was extremely rude and snapped at me when I asked her if they take veterans discount. She said no. Loud and rude. I will not be coming back. I have been in customer service for 45 years. And this is the worst. Also Buffet Asia on Sahara and Rainbow. So disappointing and upset first and last time

An all you can eat Chinese buffet with nothing special to rave about. I stopped here out of curiosity. It was cheap. $14.95. You get what you pay for. It's average American domesticated Chinese offerings. It even has pizza and fried chicken. There's a sushi roll section, too. It's a below grade Chinese cafeteria style food. Sure you can tolerate and eat it. The question is, would you want to. I ate it because I was hungry after shopping at Walmart.

Great hot and fresh food and good prices. Sushi was good too and a nice verity. Only thing I recommend is ice cream.

Utterly disgusting crappy service. Yes, the stench of this place goes far beyond the restroom laced with the putrid smell of fresh sewage. They fail to make reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities. First of all, my mom is elderly, disabled, and hardly has any teeth. She is going to take longer to eat! That didn't matter even though the restaurant was near empty. After going over their so called time limit, they refuse to serve her again except for to go, which at a buffet is always a rip off. What part of the Americans With Disabilities Act do they not understand? She is doing the best she can with many teeth missing. Again, most of the tables were empty. Why would you do that to a disabled person? Don't worry, I'll never come here again!! I don't know which stinks more: their staff, or their restrooms. Unless the stench of fresh raw sewage in the restroom gets your mouth watering, don't come here. I mean, holy crap, plug your nose!! All and all, zero out of five stars.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch while our adult son was nearby at an appointment. Upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly young lady who seated us and asked us what we wanted to drink. I chose iced tea and my husband asked for ice water. We looked over all the food offerings on their buffet tables and found it to be more than adequate. They have salads, soups, fried foods, steamed fish, peel and eat fish to veggies, chicken and desserts. We selected a variety of foods to try and delved into yummy goodness. We were hungry so we brought our appetites. The food was filling and delicious. If you come here, get ready to enjoy hot, tasty food. The staff are friendly and courteous. Our table was bussed often and we were checked on by our wonderful server. We will return in the future.

Sushi was very nasty, snow fox store bought sushi tastes 10 x better. Food was cold. They didn't refill anything. Everything tasted like it has been sitting for hours!

Dont come here for the sushi. The Nigiri I had here had been sitting at room temperature for a while and had definitely gone bad. I almost threw up.

Sitting here at China Star and the food is GREAT!! Seated immediately and everything else s hot and full. Great place to come for soft shell crab!!

These people discriminated against me and made me pay for my meal before I even sat down to eat.I looked around to see maybe everyone else had paid already but they didn't receive their receipts until they left,so I asked the pay why she charged me but she acted as if she couldn't understand me.This is why it's important to charge after a meal because I was charged for a beverage I didn't even want or receive.The owner had no care in the world for how his staff treated me,so if you're looking for somewhere to eat then do t step foot in this place.The food is mid and the fish taste like it's from lake mead.

They have horrible service, no food, dirty very nasty will not recommend will never go their again paied 38.54 for a nasty and no food bad service!!

out of all the chinese places to go in las vegas, this is not one of them. it's not terrible but very disappointing. photos showed great big and yummy food, but most food was cold, half of it was always out, and not a huge selection. the sushi was just not edible. i found a small hair in my food and that's when i couldn't eat no more. something was wrong with the plumbing which made the bathrooms smell horrendous.

This place was pretty good. All the dishes were good. Don't recall any dish I didn't like. Service could be better, but probably cause it was pretty busy at the time.

The food was decent but for some reason when me and my boyfriend (keep in mind my boyfriend is a black man) walked in I was charged before I sat down and ate. I didn't think much of it until I realized 1 there was nobody being charged first, everybody else walked in and they were led to their table (I got the closest table to the counter so I seen everything) and for 2 nobody in the entire restaurant looked like my boyfriend so I immediately put 2 and 2 together and mentioned something to the manager and his entire face turned as red as a cherry like he knew what he did wrong and immediately tried to say "no I ASKED you if you wanted to pay first" which did not happen at all, we walked in I said "can i get a buffet for 2" and he asked if we wanted drinks we ordered drinks and he said "ok it's $27". I just felt like my boyfriend was being discriminated against and I was not happy about the experience I had. Not to mention, nobody came and serviced our table, we were there for almost 30-45 minutes and nobody asked if we wanted refills, asked us how our meal was going or anything. to think they wanted a Tip before I sat down is also crazy.

Food was below par. Server was good though. Was disappointed. Don't think we'll go back. Too bad.

Typical Chinese buffet. Nothing special. Service was ok. Food was OK. They kept the food trays full. Would problem try another place.

Me and my mom visited this restaurant April 12 around 7:00pm. Chow Mein Noodles where cold and the rest was either extra hot and over cooked or cold and over cooked. place is clean but the food is over cooked a rubber texture and too sweet. It's the next day and I got food poisoning.

Terrible service and the food is not that great here. If you want better quality for the same price. Go to Krazy Buffet on Sahara and Cimarron.

For a restaurant business that depends on customers coming in ordering food and paying for that consumed food, the owner or manager and the waitresses don't seem to care for the people who eat at their restaurant. The staff are cold, don't smile at customers, in fact, it seems they don't like customers. Is this an Asian thing or is it just these set of employees who are a gripe against the owners and then take it out on customers? Someone, I believe only another Asia can get through to these people, have to tell them, even if they pretending/acting, to "make nice" to customers, smile at them, even maybe say "thank you for coming in to our restaurant." Maybe, just maybe, those customers might ever appreciate that. For me, just knowing I'll be entering this establishment, I get a cold chill feeling all over knowing that their cold stare might cause me to throw up! Kidding about that, but that staff are no where near taught or trained to create goodwill.

I really like this buffet, but when i came in last week on Valentine's day 2021 they were clearly NOT following covid-19 protocol.. The were over capacity, and it made me VERY uncomfortable being in there. Please fix this! This is not the time to be defying the pandemic. Other than this major problem, the food was fresh and pretty yummy. I won't be back if they aren't going to follow the rules though

This place needs a face lift. The food is better than any Chinese buffet in Las Vegas. The prices are from the 80's. You know the food is fresh because there is such a turn over of customers. Their chicken on a stick is the best !! The only problem is the decor. They look like it hasn't had any new tables or chairs since the 80's. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I recently returned to this place and it's COMPLETELY remodeled and clean. Possibly new owners? No roaches, clean and good tasting food. They have redeemed themselves.

Tonight was it for me. Out of all of the restaurants I have been here, this was the first time I have experienced racism from one of the employees. I'm not sure if she was a manager but usually when you go here you were able to walk in, find your table, and wait for a waitress to take your drink order. Even if there is someone in your party running late they are still treated with the upmost respect. Until tonight. I was meeting my friend and her daughter here and she was already sitting at the table with her drink and food. I did what I would normally do if I am running late...go to the table and place my things down and start getting my food. After I make it back to the table, I find a waitress and let her know that I was ready to order my drink. After the manager comes over and says," It's only 2 ppl on this ticket". I told her,"ok. I'm going to be the 3rd person to sit here". Then rudely she says 15.99 for water and 17.99 for fountain drinks. I've never had an issue paying for my food but it's the principle of how you treat customers. After I paid for my food I was noticing that other people were not forced to pay beforehand and my friend and I were. If you have a set rule be direct about it and apply it to ALL customers. Don't be picky and choosy about who will pay when first walking in the establishment or right before leaving. I actually liked coming here and for my experience to be ruined like this shows I won't be back.

This is the worst China Buffet, must be in the world!! Wait staff was the only reason it received one star! How can you make mooch out of Crab Legs. Not eatable!!!! First and Last Visit. Those who know me knows My love for Crab Legs!!

The food was fresh and delicious. We had the beef broccoli and some seafood, plus drinks. This was a great deal for buffet. Would come back and highly recommended.

If you're I'm Vegas on a budget definitely come try this place food was good and sushi was delicious as well
