"About 15 years ago, after serving as a chef for the Chinese Embassy, Peter Chang began his restaurant career cooking under an assumed name at China Star, an early stop in the path that evolved him into a noted chef." - Gabe Hiatt

It would be nice if they let people know ahead of time that you CAN'T dine in. I guess paying staff to allow that would be a lot to ask. I'm not going to eat chinese food in my car. Shame on you for keeping ypur diningroom closed years after COVID. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, which I found through a Google search. I had never been there or heard of it before, but I’ve been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since the three I used to frequent have gone downhill. Placing my order over the phone was smooth and easy. When I arrived to pick up my food, I noticed that both the exterior and interior could use some upkeep. The inside felt a bit dingy, and the kitchen area looked like it could benefit from a deep cleaning, especially under the stove. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the food was actually pretty decent, a bit more flavorful than what I’ve had at my previous go-to spots. Overall, it’s an okay place, but it would really shine with a little extra cleaning and care.

The food was mediocore and a bit dry, but edible. Such big portions to last for a few days, which I appreciate, but I did find a piece of a blue rubberband in my fried rice 😬 the wait was around 40 minutes. other than that, the staff were friendly! That said, im not getting anything from there again.

We had a great meal. Homemade dumplings were delicious. Will be our go to for dumpings from now on. Orange chicken was good. Not too sweet. Beef and broccoli was good too. Nice flavor and veggies were good.

The greatness of this place and the people working here go hand in hand. I am not one to rate takeout style chinese places as any special over the other ones but this one was really good..prices were great for the weekend where everything else is 15 to 20 dollars especially going by buffet cost at least. I had Shrimp and Lobster sauce and the container came full. There was so much it was overflowing and they placed extra plastic in it to control it. I watched the guy cook and he puts on a show. The wife was nice as well and I saw her talking to customers about their lives more than I have in many takeout spots. There was one other restaurant I seen it where the food was kind of close to this. They make Lobster Sauce here great, will have to come back real soon for the Egg foo young and I hear the Chow mein is awesome. And kudos to the fortunes I just happened to get lucky to receive.

AMAZING food. Fresh, massive portions. Please note : it is rare to get your phone call answered when theyre busy. Best bet is either order ahead or go in and order. Its worth the wait. A sweet couple, running their own restaurant. Everything is made right there, not prepackaged. Their egg rolls are hands down the freshest and best egg rolls. It is not a dine in restaurant.. you can go in and order and wait inside or in your car. Theres a few chairs for those who are waiting.

The food is the best downriver however good luck getting them to answer the phone. If you plan on this for dinner always have a back up. Had to drive 40 minutes because my husband wanted this for his birthday and found out they are on vacation. No answering machine.

The food was amazing! The portions are gigantic, especially for the price. It's carry out only, so the atmosphere doesn't even matter. I arrived early for my food, so I was actually able to watch them prepare and cook most of it because you can see the open kitchen! I will absolutely return! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
