"China Tang, the new Chinese restaurant at the MGM Grand, takes diners back to the glory of the Tang Dynasty, that golden age of cosmopolitan culture and cuisine. Part of that experience comes with the cocktail menu that finds inspiration in the Pre-Opium War Era China and Colonial Era China. Cocktails at this glamorous spot mix American and Asian flavors, such as hoisin and yuzu. For example, the Stanley Punch comes in an iced hot pot with udon noodles as garnishes. Cocktails from the Pre-Opium War Era feature fewer outside cultural influences since the opium wars that took place in the mid-19th century were rooted in Anglo-Chinese disputes over British trade and China’s sovereignty. The Qing pairs Plymouth Gin with Yellow Chartreuse, bitters, Tio Pepe Fino Sherry, and Frey Absinthe, while the Mr. Tang, mixes Remy Martin X.O. with Cointreau Noi, Luxardo Maraschino, and Frey Absinthe. Colonial Era China showcases those outside influences intermingled with Chinese tradition. The drinks on this section of China Tang’s menu include the Kowloon Old Fashioned that uses applewood chips to smoke a concoction of Patron Roca Resposado Tequila, Organic Sea Salt Dark Cacao Liqueur, chocolate bitters, and hoisin-rhubarb. And that Stanley Punch cuts the fruity blend of Grey Goose L’Orange and house tropical puree with Fever Tree Ginger Beer and Hell’s Bitters by Scrappy’s." - Susan Stapleton

This was a great find while we were in Vegas! Delicious food - all around authentic and flavorful, and the service was truly top notch. We felt welcomed and well taken care of during our meal. We tried Dim Sum for the first time at the recommendation of our server and we were not disappointed! We also had some fried rice and the Angus Filet that had really lovely flavors. I highly recommend making this place one of your stops while in las Vegas!

Taste was OK, quite pricy per plate. Portion is huge so we didn't have had ordered one dish per person (at all) We simply ordered too much. Asked our waiter to tell us if they were too much. But he just tried to put more and more on us. Left a lot of food there. Couldn't take with us.. Pity..

The service was good, the decor was nice, the food was acceptable, and the price was horrible. The xiao long bao was ok, tastes good, but the dumpling was tough like it was sitting steaming for too long. The beef with noodles was alright, most of the beef was fatty or gristle. We also got the beef short ribs, which were tasty, they were just really salty. I saw ads with hand made noodles which I did not see on the menu and while the food wasn't that bad, it also wasn't good enough to justify the price.

Decent food... somewhat fusion but mostly chinese, a but overpriced, beautiful lobby staff. The chef know the details of making chinese food chinese, but the dishes are western. Oddly the restaurant was not open on the following wed and thurs.
