Google
They have the freshest, tastiest Chinese food! Never skimpy with their servings either. I always have plenty left over for lunch the next day. Their Hot & Sour soup is one of the best I've had!

Google
The good: The kung po chicken was the best I've had in Lubbock The bad: The order was for Kung Po and egg rolls. The store missed the egg rolls. Happens right? However, what makes this egregious is they noticed that they screwed up. As you can see in the photo, instead of correcting it, they crossed out the total, hand wrote a total matching what they were paid by doordash and handed it to my dasher without the egg rolls. On a petty note they default to fried rice as a side for their stir-fries and it's honestly just flavorless oily rice. Not worth eating. The Kung Po Chicken *was* very good though. Food: 3 stars because the kung po was good and everything else was bad or missing. Service: 1 star (because it's the lowest... I'd go negative if i could) for noticing their mistake and not correcting it Atmosphere: N/A this was a delivery Overall: 1 star for the same reason as service.

Google
Amazing Chinese food! The food tastes authentic, even more so than some restaurants in major cities. The food tends to cost a bit more per person… but that because the portion sizes can feed 3-4 people apiece with extremely large portion sizes. Amazing restaurant I will continue to go back to

Google
I don't know what's up with the negative comments. Been coming to this place for years and they will forever be our favorite comfort food. Dinner/Lunch combo is awesome and great value! Guy is super chill and we've never had an issue with our food. Keep up the good work!

Google
Ordered through their website and picked up to go. They weren't that friendly in person or online. When I opened my chicken chow mein there were no noodles at all. I called and the woman on the phone says there are no noodles and I'm wrong not here. That I needed to order the lo main for noodles, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted chow mein like everywhere else. No where does the website say there is no noodles at all.

Google
First time trying it today and got the Mei Fun special with broccoli instead of shrimp and they charged a dollar for it. I don't mind but the chicken and beef taste like a sponge! Now I know to only get vegetables next time. The meat is not worth it. In the pics I added soy sauce to the noodles... Should have took a pic before eating

Google
Guys, I’m gonna be honest and straight with you. This place was donkey food. Honestly, I couldn’t even bring myself to eat the food I ordered… rice looked GREAT, until you realize it has no flavor. Chicken? Slimy and white. Tbh I didn’t even recognize it as chicken. Gonna shoot you guys a straight arrow here and tell you not to visit. Be prepared if you do.

Google
Had the lunch pepper steak with fried rice and an eggroll. Service was quick and friendly. The cashier doesn't speak very good English but if you are patient with him then it goes fine Steak was tender and flavorful. Nice sauce with it and the onions and peppers were really good. Wish there was more pepper and less onions but it honestly was not an issue. Fried rice had a very good flavor. Only wish was there were more "things" in it. Lol. Eggroll was the typical eggroll but it also had a very good flavor to it. Very good value for the dollar. Upper 20% of what is available for Chinese food in Lubbock.

Yelp
I still love the food here at China Wok, everything is delicious and the lunch portions are priced inexpensively. The employee at the counter has changed and now my order is almost never right - fried rice when I ordered steamed, hot and sour soup instead of egg drop. Fortunately, everything is delicious, it's just not what I ordered.

Candy P.

Yelp
I tried the pork egg rolls and hot & sour soup today. Both are delicious. Quick service. Small store obviously set up to mainly serve take out, but there are a few tables inside. I'll be back.

Yelp
Update, 2024 just started and a couple of days ago I visited China Wok to pick up an order. Everything in my original review still applies. This place has great food!

Edie S.

Yelp
It's so hard to find good Chinese food in Lubbock these days, so we were happy to try China Wok. I've noticed their sign for years and we are so glad we tried it! Great egg rolls and we loved the shrimp lo mien and General Tso's chicken. Give them a try! We're glad we did.

Matthew B.

Yelp
i'm not sure why people want to give this guy their money. Every time I've been in there he has treated customers like trash. The food is OK but the owner is just miserable. The last time I went there I watched him just abuse a young lady who just wanted to know what the sizes are for soups. He was so angry at her for asking and not reading his mind.

Yelp
Arrived on time and very warm. We ordered pot stickers, dumpling soup, moo shu pork, chicken chow mein, beef w/ Chinese vegetables. Wow. Two people ate on it 2.5 times. Delicious. Good quality. Excellent sauces.
google avatar

Gilbert P.

Yelp
The wife and I just had Christmas dinner here. Our first time and probably last time. Beef teriyaki was tuff but flavorful. We both thought; dehydrate and turn into Jerky. The Pork Moo Shu kinda bland and lacked personality. House Egg Foo Young best dish when hot. I personally missed not getting brown gravy. Egg drop soup not best not worst. Fried rice dry and well just mediocre. This place was one of few restaurants open and was very busy. All in all, we will probably stay home and cook our own meal next Christmas. Moral of story: Not every "Christmas Story " Chinese dinner has a good eats ending.
google avatar

JJ J.

Yelp
Very authentic. We ordered the pork steamed dumplings and they didn't disappoint. Plump, moist, and the dipping sauce was a bit unexpected. It had a sweet kick to it, and we liked it. Hot and sour soup comes with crunchy won tons. We'll be back.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
The food is just on the decent side of mediocre, but the sheer level of hostility from the staff is off putting. I seem to be bothering them just for walking in. This place is convenient to my work but I think I'll give it a pass from now on.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
We love it, especially the fried dumplings. So bad for you, but so good! We've had several beef dishes and they were super tender. We've also had Orange Chicken which was on point. You can choose your level of spiciness too. I knock it down a star because it is pricier than I think it should be. $60 for 3 meals, 2 orders dumplings, 3 bottled water so you decide.

D C.

Yelp
The mu shu pork was excellent one of the better places i have had it at however the rice wrappers were very papery upgrade those and it would get top stars.
google avatar

Shirl W.

Yelp
I tried this place for the first time... it was very disappointing. The man that delivered my food was rude. I requested that my food be left at the door, he waited until I opened the door to ask me why I didn't add a tip on my payment. The food was bland and cold and lacked flavor. With so many places to choose from, I won't be ordering from them again.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Food is descent. The sesame chicken was good. The girl working behind the counter has all the personality of a rabid badger. She got angry at every customer that came in that just didn't grab an order and go. Any extra questions and you might as well poke a hornets nest.

Mistress K.

Yelp
Pros - Sweet and sour chicken is amazing. The dumplings are *chef's kiss* when they give you the right sauce. Cons - You don't know what's in any of the dishes. There is no description and no pictures. You're shooting blindfolded which is problematic if you have allergies. I can't order the dumplings anymore because 7/10 times they give you the wrong sauce, there are about 4 different ones they assign seemingly at random. Nothing I have tried to do via phone, website, or in person has made it where I know exactly how to describe the various sauces and explain to them which I prefer. Of course, if it said on the menu what sauce is supposed to come with them... TLDR: The food is generally incredibly good but you never know what you're going to get if you want to try something new. If you have allergies you can't find out what is in anything prior to receiving it.

Rene' B.

Yelp
Very very unfriendly. We ordered 2 different meals, neither one of them had any flavor. Even if they were unfriendly if the food was good I would probably visit again. Food was not good and not worth making another visit.

Yelp
Foods always good and hot when delivered. When I order hi see for delivery, I always use China Wok

Yelp
This was the mu shoo I have been looking for! I have been trying to find the mu shoo from my childhood for the last 30 years and I found it here! Everything we had was hot and delicious. I will make a trip to Lubbock just for this food! A definite try...

Yelp
Small restaurant off the south Frankford and Spur 327 area of Lubbock. Greeted quickly and order received by awaiting staff. Only four tables with four chairs each. This place is mostly a take-out restaurant. Very clean and food is cooked to order. No fancy food here. Traditional Chinese-American food orders. Online ordering available. Delivery to local addresses available.

Natalie G.

Yelp
China Wok has been my go go Chinese restaurant for some months now! I moved to Lubbock from Austin about 3 years ago and for years I refused to eat any Chinese food here in town after some of the experiences I had at other places. I tried this place out once since it was on the way to my boyfriends job and I have been going about twice a week ever since! The food has great flavor, the prices are fair, the portions are great, the menu has lots of options, and they are quick and efficient. This Chinese restaurant has everything I look for when on the hunt for good Chinese restaurants! Stop by and have an order of Singapore Mei-Fun noodles, my fav!

S H.

Yelp
Great tasting Chinese carryout. Order from here often, always am very satisfied. Egg foo young is fantastic!
google avatar

Seth L.

Yelp
I'm really disappointed. I really wanted to like this place. Buddy and I got some to go. He got the General Tso's Chicken. His comment was, "Well they lied when they said it was spicy." I tried 2 of those pieces and was bland as can be. I got the Bourbon Chicken, it was under the chef specialties. Chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy on the inside, crisp on the outside, but there was just no flavor in the sauce except salt. Just watery salt taste. Won't go back.

Yelp
Awesome place for fast food Chinese. Very affordable and you get large portions. Would recommend to anyone in a hurry and wanting some Chinese.

Marisol U.

Yelp
Food was delicious, we ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, pork lo mein and wonton soup. So tasty and big portions! Great price also, will be back

Chase O.

Yelp
Pretty good, have now eaten there twice. Very large portions. Would recommend to anyone wanting Chinese takeout

Yelp
Love this place, fast friendly and delicious, This is my absolute goto place and delivery right to your door under the estimated time!!!!
google avatar

Claire W.

Yelp
Always hot. Always fresh. Super quick pick up or delivery. Thanks for another great meal!

Yelp
What a mistake to order from this place. Fried rice was burned and the bourbon chicken was the worst I ever tasted before. Will never order from here again.

Nadia P.

Yelp
I have had better friend rice. It didn't have that good of flavor. I didn't love the orange chicken. I have had better orange chicken from other places. It might be due to what I am used to and like. For instance, I like Panda Express' orange chicken, but not their lo mein. I don't like the actual flavor of orange that is in this places orange chicken. Despite this, it was really crispy which I liked. The lo mein wasn't the worst, but I like other places flavor more.

Taygon C.

Yelp
Got the house special fried rice and the lo mein, both were very flavorless and all the protein tasted very weird. The beef was chewy and there were not a lot of shrimp in the fried rice. The lo mein was flavorless and the pork was soggy and tasted off. The only saving grace was the steamed dumpling, do not get the friend dumplings.

Jeremy B.

Yelp
I cannot stress to you enough, how you should never order from this place. Literally the worst chinese food I've had in my entire life. I get it, it's lubbock, there's not a whole lot to choose from when it comes to Chinese food. You're better off eating McDonald's. Trust me. It's horrible, and to make it worse... expensive! They didn't even give me soy sauce packets with my 35 dollar order...
google avatar

Harold J.

Yelp
Have ordered from here many times and it's been great every time. Delivery was fast and food is always hot and fresh. Sure wish they were closer to our new house, we'd order often. Give them a try, you'll be back.

Sara T.

Yelp
I never leave poor reviews, so this is a first. We bought several dishes and almost all of them were gross. The combination fried rice had meat that was slimy and way too soft. The rice itself was so soft it was almost mush. The mei fun smells like Sheetrock and Tastes as bad as it smells. The beef noodles were again slimy and way too soft. Egg rolls were flavorless. Crab wontons tasted old/ soured. Kids ate the sweet and sour chicken so there is there is their 1 star. Asian Cuisine is our go-to for take out and this is by far the worst place we have ever experienced. I don't see is ever giving this place a shot again.
google avatar

Kyle F.

Yelp
The food is okay. The experience was awkward at the restaurant. As I sat waiting for my food a kitchen guy and the guy at the register started arguing in what I assume was Chinese. It got a bit harsh and uncomfortable.
google avatar

Anthony R.

Yelp
Was not a good experience. The guy working the front ignored me while i stood there then helped me with a sour attitude, almost as if i was inconveniencing him. What i ate was not fried rice but some sort of bland burnt rice. Chicken was subpar at best. I do not recommend.
google avatar

Rayanne B.

Yelp
So far one of my more favorite chinese restaurants in Lubbock. They give you a big portion of food so it's worth the money! I'd consider myself a picky eater but their lo mien and honey chicken are amazing! The only complaint I have was my food was a little too greasy, but still good.

Haylee B.

Yelp
this food honestly is not worth the money. meat is slimy, rice is flavorless. service is also rude. do not recommend
google avatar

Charles W.

Yelp
great Chinese Food. Always made fresh and quick so its still hot when I get home. Friendly service too. Nice people.
google avatar

Cindy D.

Yelp
I really like their food and the fast and friendly service. This place is always clean and the music is pleasant at a level we can carry a conversation while enjoying our meal.

Cyndi H.

Yelp
We first went to China Wok right before the pandemic. We live on the other side of town but after tasting their food it was the best take out in town. I didn't mind taking a 10 minute drive to get good food. But, just ordered food today and first the lady over the phone was super rude. She has no people skills. When I got there she was just as rude. When I arrived home I couldn't wait to eat. But, it is NOT the same. I order from there periodically and it has never been this bad. I do not plan on going back any more until the level of service can rise up again.
google avatar

Willy L.

Yelp
one problem I have is the portion size in the pricing. two entrees and house rice close to $38 I think that's a little high.

Brandon F.

Yelp
Wasn't good to me or my family I'm not from Lubbock so I was figuring that this is the Chinese that the local residents were use too.But it's not great Chinese was a bit salty for my liking.

Caitie S.

Yelp
I'm not a huge customer service person, but this was the most irritating visit I've ever had. The girl taking my order had food in her mouth while doing so. Then she asked "what do you want". The food was mid, and the fried rice was not fresh at all. Rushed me the whole order as well.
google avatar

Natalia D.

Yelp
As I walked in and ordered I said, "this is my first time eating here." I ordered the Kung Pow Chicken and fried rice. It wasn't bad but the guy at the front counter was super rude. I don't expect to be entertained but at least when I say, "thanks, goodbye it was good." I should get a response or a nod at least. He just looked at me like I was trash to him. That's why I'm giving this 1 star.
google avatar

Britney L.

Yelp
Super please with dinner not only was it super fast, but it tastes delicious and their website made it SUPER easy to order. We'll definitely be ordering again. Orange chicken, sesame chicken, pork wantons and rice are all great!!!
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
Finally a Chinese restaurant that I can order food from without getting sick! If you have a sensitive stomach and cannot handle grease or processed foods, this is a place you can safely add to your "safe" list! Their food is freshly made, has extremely crisp vegetables in it every time, and they have *never* messed up any of my delivery orders. 5/5 Cheese Wonton's 5/5 General Tso's Chicken (yes, it really is spicy!) 5/5 Honey Chicken 5/5 Orange Chicken (has a bit of a kick to it and comes with a lot of carrots and broccoli) 5/5 Chicken Fried Rice The fried rice that you have the option to get with your meal is just white rice with soy sauce on it. If you want the good stuff, you will have to order the chicken fried rice (it is totally worth it!!!!!). I have always received extremely courteous service, 11/12 of my delivery orders arrived 10 minutes ahead of the delivery time they provided, and their drivers are all super nice people! =)

John W.

Yelp
I went into the restaurant and placed an order to go. I ordered their menu selection called Happy family number one. The guy taking my order did not know what happy family number one was and placed the wrong order. Afterwards, I could tell I had not been charged enough money for my order so I brought it to the man's attention. I showed him on my phone where their menu has a selection called Happy family number one and that the price of that item was more than I had paid which indicated to me that he had placed the wrong order for me. The guy was rude, dismissive, and told me instead of ordering by the name of their menu selection, the next time I should show him my phone and show him my selection on their menu. Needless to say I told him to refund my money. I have heard there are certain people who work at the restaurant who treat customers rudely but this is the first time I have personally experienced it. I will not be back! No "Happy Family" in that place!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Everytime we eat China wok we end up happy. Meals are always fresh and hot. The customer service is about what you get at almost all Asian food restaurants. The cashier has that disdainful look representing a hidden thought about the evil "gweilos" He has to deal with but overall it's a great place for carry out or delivery. I've had about 5 different meals and some of the appetizers. I hope to try them all! I recommend the shrimp fried rice. Most places skimp on the seafood but not here. The portions are large and everyone loves leftover Chinese food!
google avatar

Shan L.

Yelp
Whoever said this is good Chinese food has obviously never ever had any type of authentic Asian food of any sort. The food tastes like it was frozen bagged food from Walmart... It is just not good in any way at all. There have to be way better places than this place out there.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Horrible. Chicken was hard as a rock, overcooked and flavorless. Fried rice was brown and vegetable free. Skip this dump.
