I've been here twice. The first time, both the soup and chicken-on-a-stick had no flavor and the chicken was so dry I couldn't even eat it. I decided to try it again. This time I ordered bourbon chicken with white rice. I'm not sure what this is but it's not bourbon chicken. And again, there is almost no flavor. It just tastes like bell pepper. I had to add teriyaki sauce at home just to give it something. I won't be going back.

Paid $15 for this minus a little meats my daughter already ate? China wok USED to be my favorite Chinese restaurant close to home. Since the beginning of 2020, the food quality has gone dramatically downhill: from being my favorite to being one of my most despised. I usually don't post until I have had a few bad meals. At first, early 2020, the chicken was beginning to be "stringy." By mid 2020, It Seems as if they are like all the Chinese restaurants in my tiny Podunk town growing up in the 90s; they would use old, proorly maintain ingredients to save a buck rather than giving their customer the best, within reasonable limits. I could be too hard during these times, but we all know good food is important and we all want the best. After saying the above, you can only hate something in this way after once you loved it. I hope the owners redeem themselves. I hope to find myself journeying there every week once again to get my favorite. NO ONE made it like they did for YEARS!

Stopped in here one evening to get some dinner on the go. The staff was very friendly courteous and helpful. We had the sesame chicken with lo mein and it was excellent. I am sure it will be back. Thank you for the great service and kind words.

Great food, super fresh and hot, delicious. People are very nice and cordial. It's basically takeout, so limited seating.

Be wary when dining here! I have been using this establishment for many years. However tonight I ordered large beef Lo mein got down to last bite and bit into a piece of metal scoring pad I'm assuming they use to wash their dishes. I really hope they don't stage the meat in the sink. Really disgusted and will not be spending another dime with china wok on New Salem hwy99!!

Please follow the instructions on the Notes when people place their order on Uber eats. I asked for my general Toso chicken to be fried extra crispy with light sauce got my order to my room. It was the complete opposite. The sauce was filled to the very top. the chicken was not fried extra crispy. It was very soggy. I took a couple bites taste and it taste so weird. Never had that flavor of general Tso before and right out there eating the chicken a couple bites I begin to throw up the food was very disappointing. If people request their food to be paired a certain way, please follow the descriptions

Small quiet place but the people were super friendly and the food was amazing

If i could give this negative stars, I would. This is singlehandedly the WORST food we've EVER had in our entire life. Forget the fact that they couldn't understand me, and I couldn't understand them, the food was disgusting. I'm not even sure what it was! The flavor was missing, the 'chicken' had a weird texture, but it was bland and tasted like rubber. I had 2-3 bites and threw mine away. My husband couldn't even stomach his food, and threw it away after trying longer than I did. I've had bad food before, but this was GROSS "food". I seriously cannot tell you enough how bad this was....it wasn't a preference thing, it was disgusting, without flavor. Trust me on this one.

I was very disappointed with my order from China Wok. I was craving Bourbon Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken today so I ordered from here. The Bourbon Chicken was breaded? What's up with that? And the Kung Pao had NO HEAT and tasted funky, but not like any Kung Pao I've ever had. The boneless spare ribs were great and so were the dumplings, but, I won't be going back.

Idk how this place has any good reviews. The food was flavorless. My husband and I threw it away after one bite.

After moving from Nashville, this place as the closest Chinese food store to my house. I've ordered several times and overall it's been good. What I like: -The amount of meat in the dishes. Compared to where we used to order from, I feel like there is at least 2x the meat in the dishes. I'm not sure if this is China wok giving more or the old place being extremely stingy. -Spice levels. In the online menu, the options for spice and extra spice are good. Both give a nice bump in heat that is not too much. -Online ordering is convienient. What I don't like: -Breaded chicken in dishes. Kung pao specifically. Just say no. It's weird. -The amount of salt in the food. There is an option in the online menu to ask for less salt, which they do follow. Without specifying that, the food is way too salty. This is an always option for me when ordering now. Being it is about 2 minutes from my house and tasty, I'll continue to order from China Wok.

Good food good prices quick and fresh Service was fast and prompt. Most of Murfreesbo Chinese food is the same average at best. This one was a bit better.

Very disappointed. Stopped by after work and got the General Tso Chicken for my mom and Bourbon Chicken for me. Let's just say I have no idea what they gave me but it definitely wasn't bourbon chicken. Don't think I'll be back. What a waste of money

The prices on the web site considerably lower than actual price, when I pointed it out, she just dismissed me and said that was old prices.

Owner is very rude! The place is nasty dirty. They also charge "extra fees" to your order. Don't waste your money

Solid choice for Americanized Chinese food. We've never had a bad experience. It's the perfect comfort food for when you just need SOME CHINESE food, you feel me? Very friendly staff, fast service. Best we've found in the Boro. Give it a try!

First time here and we ordered family feast A to go. Two young girls took our orders. Cute, but I am pretty sure they were too young to legally be working there. I suspect they were the owner's daughters. Food was just so so. Not terrible but not great either. I really wanted it to be great since it is close to where I live but I have a feeling I may not be back. Simply not good enough and not flavorful enough. I will search for better Boro Chinese food.

Food: The quality of the food is rather middle of the road. Neither great nor unpleasant. Lots of salt, lots of corn starch, and lots of sauce. Each meal is rather reminiscent of a meal made in a college dorm. Very ambitious but ultimately falls short. Price: Given the quality of the meal I would expect to pay about $3-$4 less. This place has great Chinese food that is always fresh, and they always fill up every container to the very top. Plus they are some of the nicest people! Great place!!!

Nice little take out place. Food was piping hot and portions were a great size for lunch and you even had left overs! Quality of ingredients was fantastic and flavors were spot on. Would definitely go here again. Thank You China Wok... I finally found some great Chinese food in Murfreesboro.

We were nearby and in a rush for takeout, so we gave this place a shot. We were disappointed. They got our order wrong and of course we did not find out until we got home. In short, they gave use sweet and sour pork instead of shrimp. The sweet and sour chicken was overly greasy to the point our kids would not eat it. However, my wife liked the pork lo mein. Portion sizes are larger than I am used to.

Yuck! The first time that i tried this place, the chicken and broccoli was not the best and I was disappointed. Maybe they just had a bad day I thought. I gave them a second chance. It was even worse and I had to throw it in the garbage. The chicken did not look or taste like real chicken. Steer clear of this place!

Very pleased with the portion size and quality. I found the price to be in line with what we've spent at other similar restaurants. Sweet and sour chicken was very good! Plain lo mein was a tad bland, but added soy sauce and it was perfect! Super fast and food was very hot and fresh. Will definitely go back!

Food is better than the store appearances would have you believe. The lunch special is a great value, and the food was made fresh and quickly. Taste was good. Haven't been here for anything other than lunch special, but would definitely come back.

I love this little place. Their food is great and you get a large portion. They have the best Hot and Sour Soup of any I have tasted anywhere. I have yet to order anything that I did not like. This is a family oriented business, and they could not be nicer. I drive 38 miles to get their take out. YUMMMM!

Definitely a fan of China Wok! I've tried a couple of other Chinese places around town. This one is my favorite. The best thing about China Wok is that you an call ahead your order and pick it up when you're ready. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful when you're an indecisive customer (*cough..me..). My favorites on the list are the Bourbon Chicken, Crab Rangoon, General Tso, and the Steamed Dumplings. MMmmm!

The food is pretty much standard Chinese take-out. The service was very fast and food was hot when I got home. They make the best shrimp toast around. Portions were enough for two or three meals which makes lunch for tomorrow a slam dunk.

Tennessee cannot do Chinese food. This was the last straw!! No flavor. The same, exactly the same, brown bland sauce on EVERY DISH!!!!! SAME nasty flavor. Horribly cooked. We'll NEVER get our $40 back. What a waste of time. Anyone giving a good review hasn't had good Chinese food and has NO taste buds. Absolutely horrible!!!! After eating the few disgusting bites that we could swallow, we're all feeling sick. Thanks! It looked better in our trash than it did on the plate.

It's hard to say a lot about Chinese take-aways. It's been my experience that there are only two kinds: good and bad. This is a good one. I had the kung pao chicken and crab rangoons. It was fresh, fast, and reasonably priced. The place is new, so it has a clean appearance about it. It's also located next to a Publix, so you can run in there and grab whatever else you might need while they're getting your food ready. Like any good Chinese place, they have some signs up in mangled English like "We do party tray," and "No check accept." Sometimes I think they do this on purpose because they're under the impression that if they have flawless spelling and syntax, people will think they're fake. Anyway, this is one of the good ones, and I will go a little bit out of my way to go there rather than a couple of others that are closer to me.

This small Chinese food place is tucked in close to Publix. It is our go-to place for take-out or eat-in. It is a small shop, maybe four tables. The food is excellent, though, always hot and freshly made. The beef and broccoli has a wonderful, savory sauce to it, and the house lo mien is full of shrimp and other meats. I love their crab rangoons. They do have an extensive menu, we just tend to order what we know. We're never disappointed.

Tried for the first time today. Got the lunch special. Portion size made it a great value, better than fast food. Less then ten minutes from when I phoned in my order to pickup. As I was leaving a group of firefighters came it for their order. Always a good sign when the local First responders are there as they know the local food. Looking forward to my next visit.

Really good authentic Chinese food. The kung pao chicken, pork fried rice, curry chicken, singapore mei fun, and mushu pork are excellent. Egg rolls, egg drop wonton soup and hot and sour soup are good too.

This is by far the best take out Chinese in town. They give you good size portions for your money. The food is consistently fresh and delicious.

I live relatively close to this place. I usually call ahead and the food is ready within 10 minutes. Overall, the food is very good, and a reasonable price. The steamed dumplings are by far my favorite thing here. Highly recommend.

Consistently fantastic Asian food. This is a quality restaurant. My family comes here quite often: most of the time at least once a month. And absolutely every time, the food is really really good. I literally cannot put into words how consistent this place is. I've never had a bad meal here. It's actually become my favorite Asian food in Murfreesboro. Not only that, it is also extremely well priced. My family of five can eat on $21, which doesn't happen anywhere else. Yeah, it's pretty good. My family and I recommend it strongly.

We love this place!! My husband always calls as I am on my way home from work and it's always hot and ready when I get there to pick it up! The sweet lady always greets me with a smile and says "hey! Your husband always call!" Lol the food is amazing for take-out and the prices are very reasonable!! I recommend this place to everyone who asks about a good place to eat Chinese since Mr. Chen's closed down! We're fans!

We order take out from here at least twice a month. The food is delicious and the portions are large. The lunch specials are a great deal. We always get the sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice, vegetable lo mein and spicy Singapore mei fun. The portions are large enough we always have left overs and it tastes good warmed up too.

We found a hair in our food and all we got was a new plate without the hair in it. Also having a kid take your order is unprofessional and sometimes she doesn't understand what you say. $40 for two people and that's with plastic forks and canned soda. Food wasn't good at all.

Tried this place for the first time. Not a fan. On the high side for prices. My pork was served in a plate full of some kind of a beef broth sauce that gave it a very harsh flavor. Wish we would have driven in town a little further and got a better quality.

This was my first time eating here and I loved it! We usually go to Fu Sings but China Wok's menus have just replaced Fu Sings at my house. Everything was good. They were fast despite how busy they were and very friendly. I recommend this place.

We have tried several times to get food from this place delivered. Each time they call at least once to tell us that something is not available. Today it was the fried won tons. Then we are told that we can pick it up in about 20 minutes but to have delivered it will be an hour. Tonight after an hour and fifteen minutes I called back to find out when it would arrive. After the person answering the phone YELLED to someone else in the store to check. This person then came to the phone and questioned whether it was delivered. Duh! If it was I wouldn't be calling to find out when it would arrive. This person then asked me to hold while they called the driver, not put on hold, just placed the phone down and called! I was then told that it should arrive any time soon and that they could not reach the driver. After waiting 1 hour and 25 minutes it arrived, cold, especially the fried dumplings that we substituted when told the fried won tons were unavailable. If this happened once I would overlook it but this has happened repeatedly! No manager or anyone offered a discount for the delay or availability problems. Bad customer service indeed.

Best Chinese in Murfreesboro. Everyone needs a clutch take-out place and this is the best hands down. I have tried almost every take out Chinese there is in this town and I have always been satisfied with THIS China Wok. Quick, good price and tasty. Everything I've had is delicious. We will continue to be regulars here.
