The Red Chamber

"Styled a lot hipper than other restaurants of its kind, this aptly named “chamber” is furnished in the requisite colour inside out. The menu is mostly Northern Chinese, with occasional Sichuanese or Cantonese offerings, all very reasonably priced. Dishes are meticulously executed with spot-on flavours. You can see the chefs roasting ducks in the wood-fired oven. Besides consumed on the spot, these bronzed beauties come in a well-designed package to go." - Michelin Inspector

5 things you can't miss on a trip to Beijing, China - SilverKris

"A sky-high bar on the 80th level of the China World Summit Wing that offers panoramic views of the imperial palace complex and, on clear days, distant mountains; entry is free but drinks are expensive (over 300 cocktails available) and the venue holds only about 130 people, so arriving early is recommended." - SilverKris

We were truly amazed by our stay at this hotel. The staff impressed us from the very beginning — they went above and beyond to fulfill our special requests and treated us with exceptional care and attention. We felt genuinely looked after every moment. The view from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking. The sunrises are magical, peaceful, and unforgettable. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the overall atmosphere felt perfect in every detail. We were especially touched by the beautiful decorations and thoughtful gifts prepared for my husband’s birthday. We received fresh fruits, a cake, cookies, and many other pleasant surprises. The room was lovingly arranged with roses and special touches that made our stay truly magical. This hotel exceeded all our expectations, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.Thank you so much for making our experience so unforgettable.

One of the most magnificent hotels we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. Here for the last 4 nights of our time in China and enjoying the hotel and hospitality thoroughly. Rooms are outfitted beautifully, restaurants and bars are designed with style and have lots of food options. Be sure to enjoy some downtime at the lounge on the 64th floor. Great service by Nicole and Rita making sure we had everything we needed.

We wanted a safe place but in a great location for our first stay in Beijing. This was definitely the place. We have stayed at many different nice hotels and this ranks right up there with it. Went during end of November with my wife and daughter. Price point was not bad for this type of hotel and included daily breakfast buffet as well as 500cny credit per stay. |Location: in the heart of CBD. There is a large mall (maybe made up of multiple malls) attached to this hotel. You can easily walk around and find food.|Hotel/Rooms: Fairly new (in feeling) located 64-80 floors of the 2nd tallest building in Beijing. The only downside is that you will have to get on 2 different elevators to get to your hotel room. We upgraded to a corner room with an awesome view of the CCTV building. The room was spacious and easily fit a roll away. The bathroom was very big and included a tub with an awesome view. There were ample storage space for your luggage and clothes and included a large safe. Wifi wasn't the greatest. Water pressure was fantastic. Lots of bathroom amenities included. There were multiple plugs and usb ports next to bed. All in all a fantastic room.|Service: Amazing. Checkin was a breeze. Everyone was pleasant. Some spoke a bit of english. Turn down service was nice.|Hotel amenities: We went to the "happy hour" each night in the lounge. that was great for a small bite and drinks. There were very liberal with their pours. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. I don't know how people could complain. Lots of different items offered and a few of them changed daily. YOu can also order off a small menu. Highlights for me included the congee, pastry bar (egg tart was amazing), and different milk and yogurt offered. ||I would definitely return and stay at this hotel

China World Summit Wing is a beautiful hotel, located at the top of the second tallest building in Beijing. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the food is wonderful, and the service is impeccable. We enjoyed a couples neck and back massage by Sissi and Susan, which was lovely, especially after several days of touring. They had just the right touch to soothe our achy back and shoulders. Linda at the spa desk even pulled out a box of "readers" when I left my glasses in my room. Everything about this hotel is top-notch. Cannot wait to return!

The hotel felt modern and well-maintained. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff were polite. My room had a nice view and plenty of natural light. Good value for the price.

I might be the first Thai guest to stay here! The hotel is absolutely amazing it has a large gym, a hot pool, a regular swimming pool, and a sauna, all free to use all day. On the 64th floor, you can enjoy coffee and desserts while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding skyscrapers. On the 80th floor is the legendary Atmosphere Bar, which offers a daily happy hour from 6 PM to 8 PM for in-house guests. The location is very convenient, with a direct walkway from the hotel through a luxury mall to the subway station. The staff provide excellent service and speak good English. I’ll definitely stay here again next time!

Style. Building designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill ( SOM ) Setting. World Trade Center. Tallest hotel in Beijing Explore. Was here for work but Beijing has something for everyone and I have fond memories of my leisure trips here Rooms. Was in room 7309. Hotel room is old and aside from the view, was not impressive. This hotel is 15 years old and looks it. I came into the room and the TV was crooked. Yes it is because it is a TV you can pull out but I still expect a Shangri-La managed hotel to not have it in a crooked position (as a first impression) @ the hotel. Quick unfussy check in on the 64th floor Free afternoon tea and happy hour. Infinity pool and spa Food & drinks. Didn’t eat here Prices. US$190 using corporate rates Rating. 4/5

I am writing to formally express my outrage regarding a highly intrusive policy I experienced during my recent stay at your property. While I understand the desire to reward high-performing employees, the current system of soliciting reviews has crossed the line from "proactive service" to harassment and a breach of privacy.||During our stay, for which we paid $1900, we were subjected to the following:||• In-Room Disturbance: Staff members entered our room specifically to request positive reviews mentioning their names. This is an egregious violation of guest privacy.||• Targeting Vulnerable Guests: An elderly family member was detained for 30 minutes and pressured to create an email account and download the TripAdvisor app. Most concerningly, this caused them to leave a three-year-old child unattended in the room to comply with the staff's persistent requests.||• Disruption of Guest Experience: I was personally interrupted during a long-awaited reunion with a friend I hadn’t seen in a year. The pushy nature of the request completely derailed our time together.||The irony of this policy is that in an attempt to identify "best staff," you have created an environment where staff are incentivized to ignore basic hospitality boundaries. Forcing guests to spend their vacation time doing administrative work for your HR department is not the experience one expects at this price point. ||I expect a formal response regarding how you intend to rectify this situation and ensure that future guests are not subjected to this level of intrusion.
