Take a good look at my image. I'll wait. If you haven't figured out what that is yet... It's a beer with ice and a straw. (Sapporo)That's probably all you need to know about this place. I'm sure take out is better but dining in is definitely something you won't forget. The kid who works the front is very attentive and nice. Unfortunately the woman that served our food just throw it on the table with things flying everywhere. If you want to experience this place go ahead. However I don't be surprised if you get the same experience as me.

My family and I were really looking forward to our meal and spent over $40. Unfortunately, one of the items we paid for was missing. Then, when we went to make our plates, we found a large bug in the food. Everyone immediately threw their meals away. We were so disappointed—still hungry and feeling like we completely wasted our money. This was an upsetting experience, and we won’t be ordering from this business again.

It’s been a while since I ordered from Chinatown Brockton. It used to be the best around but my order today was terrible! I ordered a combination plate with bbq ribs, fried shrimp and chicken wings. I substituted the pork rice for shrimp fried rice. The ribs were dry and over done and the rice was the worst I’ve had. There was no fresh onions or bean sprouts as I remember and it had no flavor it was just fried rice and some shrimp! Totally disappointed in the quality! Cost me $40+ on Grubhub! Will not be ordering again!

Google
The place was clean but I was surprised to see only three pieces of Sashimi on the $12 order. Same state for the Sushi. Only 6 pieces for Dragon Avocado order of $16. When we asked about the quality and prices, the customer service was very poor and we received a rude response that this is how Japanese’s food are served across America! We all laughed and thought he is joking but he was very serious! I will not go to this restaurant anymore.

I used to love this place.. I do not know what happened to this place simple orders should be hot and ready for pickup... And should be the correct order but today upon my order not only did they get my order wrong but was everything cold and out of place in in proportionate I hope they do better in the future because if they keep sending me cold food and wrong plates I'm going to have to go to Chinatown in Boston Show said the BigBear13 Brockton ma.... I kind of want refund but that will never happen$103 order later

Google
Just ordered a $16.00 dish of General Gau's Tofu. The food came quickly, but here's why ... my food was raw & stuck together. Seems as if it was reheated. In addition, I asked for extra hot mustard and was told that I'd be charged. (He did give me 3 extra ones for free) Bottom line. They're too expensive for this type of service. The 1 star was for the rapid delivery

Google
I think management changed because the food was never this bad. My salt and pepper shrimp taste nothing like salt and pepper . This is the second time I ordered and both times sucked. Literally just taste like fried chicken fingers but it's shrimp. Save your money go to John good time or something .

Google
This place is not good because the service is absolutely terrible and food is the worst part about it. The flavour has changed and possibly use cheaper ingredients in their food.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant for Chinese food. I have been coming here for take-out for over 20 years. New-year's eve party food, special family occasions, we have gotten it all from Chinatown and never had a problem. The staff has always been courteous; the order is always correct. I feel for the price it's a good value. It's located in a strip of stores with easy access and plenty of parking. The kitchen is open with a large window; you can watch them prepare the food.

Yelp
Very basic food and mediocre service. Fine in a pinch but not worth going out of your way for it, as there and many more in the area that are much better. You get a full plate and the price is decent, but the food is very bland and one note. And the chicken comes right out of the batter with the chicken fingers, a huge disappointment. Meh.

Shannon H.

Yelp
So I got the Szechuan chicken and it had meal warm larvae in it. I knew what it was right away because I used to have chickens and that's what we gave them but to be 100 percent sure I used the identify anything app and sure enough yes. So gross. I should have known because the restaurant was not very clean and they allow customers to go behind the counter and touch whatever they want to grab for their table. Needless to say I will never eat Chinese food from them again

Naomi R.

Yelp
I used to always get food here and never a problem but I was eating a plate and found a cockroach on my food.

Luci Y.

Yelp
Very disappointing! I was looking forward to the roast duck but it was overcooked. The fried rice tasted burnt.

Yelp
If your in Brockton up by Westgate this is a good solid choice for basic Chinese food. I say basic as its like any one of many "old school" American style Chinese places before everyone started adding sushi and Pho. I go to the Cannapi dispensary and this restaraunt is in the strip plaza behind it. You can enter from Pearl St or from Oak St. The interior while clean is really quite dated. I get it, whos spending money on renovations during these Covid times. Yesterday at 1 I was the only diner seated a few people picked up take out in the hour I was there. I'm glad you can sit here as many restaraunts like Chinatown in Stoughton are still doing take out only. I am truly hopefully done eating in my car! The server was a bit indifferent and engaged in conversation with the delivery guy in Chinese the whole time. They were both eating too. I dont care about that everyone has to eat. And I can only imagine how bored they must be. Was a bit taken aback when asked if I wanted water. Of course I do I replied. Isn't that standard. The menu is now just the take out paper trifold but OK. My selection was from the dinner plates not the lunch specials and as such was a bit more. I got chicken with cashews and it comes with brown rice and a nice fat eggroll but no soup with this selection. I asked for spicy garlic sauce and it was prepared just how I love it. The cashews were fresh and plentiful. The veggys and chicken were also plentiful and tasty. The plate was really large and I only ate half and brought the other half back for another meal. Somebody in the house raided it and ate the rest and nobody is fessing up. In summary I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and the portion. Not gourmet its really a "JAR" just another restaraunt. But thats fine with me. So 1/2 point off for little things like the blase server, the price was 14 bucks a bit high but getting 2 meals. Wish it came with soup. When done I was handed a standard take out box and had to scoop it in myself. If you want a real 5 star experience this probably isn't the place but I will tell you the dish I had was delish.

Yelp
Alright. I already deleted my most recent review , only because I think the manager ( the owner's son ) is a loose canon. After some more thought I've decided to repeat my most recent review. 1) the food is not as good as it used to be. 2) it's a lot more expensive than it used to be. 3) the portions are smaller 4) we've been going there, mostly takeout since they opened. It doesn't happen often but when they make a mistake with a takeout order, they don't, or actually won't, correct it. 5) the last time I was there, the manager was yelling at a customer when I walked in. Apparently, the order was wrong and the manager was yelling at the customer that his stupid wife doesn't know how to order. Stupid wife?? I cannot imagine how he learned his customer skills. It was the worst performance I've ever seen by a manager in a restaurant. His mother (or family) should sell the business before he completely destroys it. We now go to a Chinese restaurant around the corner from them. They are polite and the food is better..

Yelp
I love this place! I live in Washington, DC and every time I visit home, I order Chinese food (because Chinese food in DC kinda stinks) from Chinatown in Brockton. Today I ordered Chinatown Rice Noodles with no meat or seafood or egg and added tofu because I'm now vegan. Also ordered a vegetable spring roll which I confirmed did not have eggs. My sister ordered chicken fried rice and chicken wings and was happy with everything, too.

Betcy A.

Yelp
This has by far been the worse Chinese food I have ever had. It was absolutely disgusting. I ordered rice noodles with shrimp and vegetables and what I got was what looked like over cooked ramen noodles. I also ordered pork fried rice with shrimp and vegetable, the rice was so dry unseasoned. Not to mention they gave me a total of 2 shrimps. I will never order from this place again. P.sthey delivered in an hour from the time I placed my order.

Vincent S.

Yelp
This is one of the worst restaurants around. They have no customer skills and don't deserve to be in business. It was my go to place for years but I will never go back

Liat F.

Yelp
We have ordered twice from this restaurant most recently on NYE. Excellent as always. We don't always order Chinese but when we do, it's Chinatown for sure. Highly recommend

Yelp
Really tasty dishes and yummy cocktails. Sunny the owner takes good care of his customers and clients. Try the lobster!

Alice B.

Yelp
Ordered food on line for pickup at 330 the next day. Went to pick up. Waited half an hour. Asked several times where my order was. Said they were working on it. After half an hour and getting increasingly aggravated finally got my order. It had been sitting there the whole time. Got it home. It was cold. Also missing one item. Very poor customer service
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
I love Chinatown! Sunny and Louisa at the best! Cheap angry customers are not welcome! At Chinatown we only have the best energy! Scallions pancakes and chicken teriyaki are A1! In addition to great food, Sunny has become great mentor to me and he is the real Mr. Miyagi! Wax on, wax off. Eat here, or don't! More chicken teriyaki for me if you do not !!!!!

Luke M.

Yelp
This place has the best General GAO chicken that I've ever had in my life. You can tell in the picture how fresh the chicken is. Totally worth the trip from Quincy.

Yelp
I'll give it two stars because of the service I received, which wasn't great but it wasn't bad. My problem here is they have a lunch special supposedly for $12.99 and I wanted to substitute the chicken with shrimp - the waiter said $3 more and I was ok with that. The issue is when my food came out I literally had 4 pieces of shrimp on my plate and instead of the usual sesame sauce there was this disgusting white sauce - congealed in certain places. The crab Rangoon was just cream cheese with not even a whiff of crab. Just like the pork fried rice had no pork in it. To top it all off my bill came out to $22. First and last time in this place. I do not recommend this - not even for a quick lunch - much less as a dining experience.

Yelp
A.O.K. Americanized Chinese food, which was quite honestly a huge treat for this displaced East Coaster. Living in San Francisco, I have access to the most authentic Chinese cuisine this side of the Yangtze, but some days I long for the salty Polynesian masterpieces of my New Jersey youth: flaming pu pu platters, spare ribs the color of candy apples, and the holy grail of 70s Cantonese--shrimp with lobster sauce. Oh, that porky, eggy, scallion-laden ambrosia, loaded with plump, firm, colossal prawns. Order this in San Francisco, and you will be served a watery mess of pathetic little pink things with carrots, peas, and black beans bobbing around in it. It will break your heart. Mind you, Chinatown's version was completely foreign to me, too. Instead of a thick, eggy white sauce, the huge shrimp came in a substantial brown sauce. Still, it was quite tasty.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! I was working here with the film crew and these guys were so hospitable. Had pad Thai, egg rolls and wonton soup for lunch and it was all delicious. Then they stayed open to serve everyone (100 plus people) after midnight. Trays of crab Rangoon, chicken fingers, orange chicken, veggie delight and more. It's not easy catering to that many people and satisfying everyone's needs. They were able to accommodate gluten free, vegetarians, and several allergy's within the party. Plus the food was great! Thank you again for your hospitality!

Dcash80 ..

Yelp
Food was not good. Overly expensive. And they charged 18% gratuity for a party of three. We had chicken broccoli, Kung Pao chicken, and orange chicken dishes. None of us liked our food. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Yelp
My wife and I, heard about this Chinatown in Brockton in 2015, and decided to try it. We usually orderd food from the restaurant in Stoughton. The food was nicely cooked, perfect, at that time, and we would tip $10 because the service and food was so good. Knowing they just take it without asking. Since the skinny guy have been taking the orders at the register the food has changed, and this skinny guy has a nasty and angry attitude about it when you tell him and/or that is the attitude he gave me today, that the food does not smell right, or the wings or noodles are burnt etc. Maybe this is just his way of controling who comes to his restaurant or maybe he just did not like me, he said, "I was a nice guy, see you last time, don't come here no more find another chinese restaurant". When dining in, be careful with your receipt, read it because they add their own tip and still leave the tip line blank, so if you are not careful you will be tipping twice. I once was chased down by one of their servers who told me I did not tip enough, really? The food has definately changed for the worst and the service is not friendly. Be careful of the skinny guy behind the counter, he is volitile and provocative. Stay clear!!

Yelp
I ordered the lunch special scallops and vegetables. The scallops were dry and tasted like dried out chicken rounds ( maybe they were chicken ). I asked for my appetizer to be spareribs on the bone. The spareribs had meat only half way up the bone and also seemed like they were old. When I called them to explain the situation the lady that I spoke to was very quick with me ( nasty ) and never offered a solution to me. She seemed annoyed. Won't be going back anytime soon.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Ordered online and order was lost, arrived and waited 90 minutes for an order that should have taken 15 mins. Staff did not admit they lost order or made a mistake, no apology was given. In the end I didn't get exactly what I ordered and I will not go back there. Clearly this restaurant does not value their customers.

Tray O.

Yelp
Amazing food, great service and the best Chinese food around - I have been going to this restaurant since I was a child and now I bring my children here. With all the creepy things you see on the news about other Chinese restaurants I never worry about it coming here. The food is always fresh, great quality and AMAZING portions
google avatar

Sylvie F.

Yelp
This is probably one of the worst Chinese food I've ever had and it was very expensive too. Trust me do not waste your money on the stale rice and dry meat I want to cry I spent nearly $30 and it taste so bad smh.

Brent U.

Yelp
I ordered Singapore Rice Noodles. The noodles were plentiful and nicely seasoned, but there were only 4 tiny, tiny pieces of pork and not a single piece of shrimp. I'll never return.

Alexis O.

Yelp
Worst food in all of Brockton. Staff rude and will mess up your order. Don't waste your time or money coming here.
google avatar

Erica G.

Yelp
Very disappointed. I always go to the Stoughton one and decided to go the Brockton one today. The sesame chicken was overcooked, not crunchy, and tasted like it was left over from the day before. London had no taste and was dry. Crab Rangoon was all cream cheese. Chicken fingers were oily. And even the fortune cookies were stale!!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Shamus C.

Yelp
We went for some scorpion bowls and fried rice and had a blast! They turned the lights down, lit the 151 on fire that they added free of charge, and took pictures for us!!! ******** UPDATE ******** They just gave us Crab Rangoon, no charge

Sylvia Perdomo P.

Yelp
The food was terrible small portion very expensive not enough vegetables in the rice rice was plain no flavor $30 for just a small order would never recommend t

Yelp
This continues to be my go to place for local Chinese food. The Lo Mein & Crab Rangoon are my son's favorite, and I enjoy their Chow Mein and boneless spareribs. I tend to get their lunch special which is plentiful & delicious. Highly recommend this place .

Yelp
General Gau Lunch "Special": $11.95 Sprite 20oz: unspecified Delivery Charge: $2.00 Total: $18.19 + tip Ordering was painful. the woman on the line needed to have everything spelled out in the address. Delivery speed was slow, considering I was only 0.9 miles from the restaurant. Chicken left an odd texture/aftertaste. Sauce was adequately spicy, but lacked pleasant flavor. Pork fried rice was fatty chunks in tasteles rice. Overall, the price, speed of delivery, and quality of food made for one of the worst experiences I've had with chinese food.
google avatar

Isabella B.

Yelp
Have gone here for over 25 years. Usually do take out. They are very generous with their portions. Tonight I got the hot and sour wonton soup which was very tasty and had 6 huge wontons in it. Spicy string beans with white rice super yummy! Chicken wings were perfect and excellent crab Rangoon! Great for takeout!
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
I love this place. I've been coming here for DECADES. My go-to is the szechuan noodles with pork, but literally everything on the menu is awesome. The pu pu platter is the best anywhere. I've been to China a few times and I gotta say this place has a lot of authentic dishes and the flavor and quality is great. I don't live nearby, but when I'm in the area, I go the extra mile and forgo eating at other places just so I can come here.
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
The food was just ok. We called in our order for pick up. We ordered the general gau chicken combo and paid $14, that's for one order! There was nothing special about the order, just plain white rice, the chicken, and a couple pieces of broccoli. What a jip! Alternatively, the staff was friendly but we absolutely over paid for what we received. Disappointed.

Yelp
Horrible food horrible service and Managemnt that doesn't care how bad it is. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Pual M.

Yelp
My friends and I ordered from here at a party the other night. It was sum of the best Chinese food we've ever had as far little shops. Everything we got tasted amazing and wasn't like other places where it's all just super greasy food. The chicken fingers weren't just little strip of chicken which heavy batter, the where big thick strip with less batter then chicken! The waybits supposed to be. The beef and broccoli was so tender and packed with flavor I think it was my favorite thing we got. The poopoo platter is well worth the money and everything in that was great we got shrimp fried rice and shrimp lomain and both of those were amazing as well! Can't wait to go back here! I highly recommend them!
google avatar

Isabella G.

Yelp
The food? Well... it's great. The owner and employees are DOUCHES! I will NEVER order from here again. Rudest interaction I've EVER had and you can look at my other reviews to know I don't complain over nothing.

Daryl V.

Yelp
The owner is really nasty and the food has gone way downhill since he bought the place from the woman who owns Chinatown in Stoughton - Cobbs corner. It is also way overpriced!
google avatar

Terry Y.

Yelp
This is my one of my favorite restaurant, I had Sze Chua flavor noodle with Pork it was even more authentic than the one I had in Boston Chinatown, ribs, eggplant and everything else I ordered here were delicious, highly recommend to try. Ask for Sunny he's the owner very nice guy, he sat down with us and we talked Chinese Kung Fu the whole night, great experience.
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
I brought my dad here for Father's Day dinner. The food here is great! The owner Sunny, staff and waiters were all very nice and friendly. Definitely a good local Chinese restaurant.

Yelp
Best vegetable pad Thai I've ever had and I've tried many.

Manoucheka A.

Yelp
The food is pretty good. However, they nickel and dime you for changes. What's worse, I was at dinner with 3 friends they overcharged us for our meal and they had the audacity to charge us gratuity. Standard for most restaurants is automatic gratuity for 6 or more. They assume that just because we are minorities we won't tip. They short changed themselves bc I always tip at minimum 20% and pay even more for great service.
google avatar

Thanh L.

Yelp
Chinatown Restaurant is pretty price. The food is not bad, but I won't eat it everyday. They have a good size dinning area for big groups.

Yelp
We came here one night for our aunt's 80th birthday party. First off, the restaurant can be a little difficult to find because there is a big difference between Oak Street and Oak Street Extension. Anyway, the restaurant is very clean and I noticed that from the beginning. We were a rather larger party (8 of us), but we actually had our own side room and plenty of space for gifts. Our server was totally awesome; he joked with us and was very efficient with keeping the drinks coming. Everyone raved about the food -- from General Gao's Chicken to Lo Mein and several other dishes I can't remember. Me? I had steamed chicken with mixed vegetables, the "Diet Special" as listed on the menu. But it wasn't until I was almost done that I realized it was served without the scallion sauce on the side. Oh well. It was rather filling anyway and certainly much "healthier" than other dishes on the table. I took about half of it home because it was a lot of food. I don't particularly care for Chinese food, but when the craving hits, I will keep this on my short list.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in the area! Had dinner there with my wife last night. Fresh ingredients prepared nicely. Egg roll was hot, spare ribs were cooked perfectly. The temperature in the restaurant was very comfortable. The pork fried rice was fluffy and moist cooked to perfection. Excellent lobster sauce and the chicken chow mein was delightful. Best crab rangoons around! Mai-Tai was perfect! The host couldn't have been more welcoming and the service we received was impeccable! The prices are very reasonable and the portions left us both with a full lunch for the next day. Do yourself a favor and disregard everything Mr. 1-star Marty S. has to say about anything. He is a rude, angry bully. Just read his other 1-star reviews and you will see exactly what I mean. His credibility rating is ZERO as far as I'm concerned. Why he continues to go out to eat is beyond me. I hate to see an A-hole like that try to ruin business for a great little establishment like this. The place is really good!!!
google avatar

Dom T.

Yelp
I've seen a couple of bad reviews about this place. I have to disagree. Every time I go in there, the staff are very friendly. They welcome me, talk to me, take my order and thank me for it and, if there's no one else on whom to wait, they converse with me while my food is prepared. Then, when they hand me the food, they thank me again for my business. Then, when I eat the food, it completes a great experience. Every time. I really like this place.

Emily W.

Yelp
This place gets a bad rap but I'm not sure why. The staff is friendly and attentive, portions are generous, and the food is cooked fresh and brought to your table very quickly. I love the crunchy noodles, wonton soup, and so many of their delicious dishes but my favorite is the sesame chicken. I'm addicted!!

Jarrod P.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. The presentation and portions exceed expectations. The food was super fresh and perfectly prepared. Service was outstanding. Drinks were spot on and very generous.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Ordered a few appetizers and a large chow mein with extra onions, which she double checked with me when she put the order in. Paid almost 4 dollars for a quart of duck sauce for our chow mein. got home and there was no chow mein in the bag. I called, and he said i didn't get charged for it so it should be no problem. i was pretty mad because that was literally our dinner and i live in fall river, so it's not like i was going to drive all the way back. i got left with a few appetizers. to 'make it right' he said he'd give me the extra onions for free next time I came in. Like... are you kidding? How generous considering how *you* messed up... I'm so happy I can get 30 cents worth of onions for free. What a horrible experience!
