All of the new restaurants and bars opening in Chinatown 2021 that matter - Eater Vegas

Chinatown Plaza in Las Vegas is a decent spot to visit, but it's not the most impressive or vibrant Chinatown you'll find. It's more of a commercial center than a bustling cultural hub. The plaza has a good selection of restaurants and a few markets, with a variety of Asian cuisines. You can find everything from dim sum to pho to Korean BBQ. The food is generally pretty good, and it's a solid place to go if you're looking for a specific type of cuisine. However, the restaurants can be a bit hit-or-miss, so it's a good idea to check reviews before you pick a place. The plaza itself looks a bit dated and could use some updates. The parking lot is often chaotic and can be difficult to navigate, especially on a busy weekend. There aren't many shops besides the grocery stores, so it's not a place you'd go to just browse or hang out for a while. Overall, it's a convenient and reliable place to get some decent Asian food or groceries. It's a functional plaza that gets the job done, but it doesn't have the lively atmosphere or charm of a more traditional Chinatown.

We had a very uncomfortable experience here today. As soon as we walked through the door, we were ushered up the stairs and told that there was a bigger mall up there. We reluctantly went up and started looking around to be nice. One of the employees stared following us through the store almost immediately. She didn’t say anything but stood directly behind us the whole time, even when we stopped to look at something. We tried to circle around and get out of there, when the employee finally started talking to us, offering jewelry that was “on sale.” We politely declined her multiple offers before heading out the door and heading straight out to our car. We didn’t even bother looking at any of the other stores. The place is run down and dirty, and not worth visiting if the employees make you feel uncomfortable the whole time.

Google
Aging. But an amazing place for anything Asian. AYCE Korean BBQ and sushi places, shabu shabu— they’ve got it all. Swap meet feel in some buildings.

Google
Loved this place., staff were very nice and polite. They had a large selection to choose from as far as souvenirs and things to buy. Wish we could’ve eaten here too cuz it looked good.

Google
Is a great place to eat Asian foods. From Kbbq, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and more. Foods, bakery and other Asian stores. Not too far from the strips. Better food and better price

Google
A good selection of Chinese and other Asian restaurants and markets. T&T ginseng is an excellent resource for Chinese herbs and remedies and a large variety of teas, etc that rivals any other similar stores in other cities with a larger China town. Next door is Paris baguette which is an international chain of bakeries, originating in Korea, and serving creative French style pastries, must try. Capital seafood on second floor is a highly rated Chinese restaurant serving excellent seafood. Large Asian market with French seafood section. Too many other good restaurants to name. Always lively and busy, with good vibe.

This is not what I want in a Chinese place. Compare to Los Angeles, New York,San Francisco, ok all of them. All new buildings, nothing else to see. Bricks with fake decorative mortar. IIf you go around the businesses , restaurant, or other. You get the idea if you not Asian your treated with lower respect.

Google
I think chinatown is still slept on by most tourists and that's a shame because some of the best food is there and it's not far from the Strip. This plaza in particular is jam packed with great choices. My most recent visit was to try Suzuya and their newest creation, a "matcha mochi beignet" which was delicious of course. As was the hojicha latte and curry egg sando. The ladies working were all super friendly. Afterward I walked over to the 99 Ranch store to see about any snacks but only left with a bottle of honey tea. A few doors down there's a kind of indoor mall with some shops inside like a bakery, boba tea shop, and gift stores worth exploring.

Yelp
There are so many amazing food venues at amazing prices. Worth going and finding any of the restaurants to venture into.

Yelp
This Chinatown Mall and shopping center has some solid stores, bakeries, and restaurants. There is generally ample parking and, if you know what you're shopping for, chances are good that it is priced less there vs another somewhere else (especially the Las Vegas strip). Inside the Chinatown Mall, the restaurants and stores are a cross between stuff for tourists and locals. Whichever one you are, it's still fun to window shop or try a bite.
google avatar

Yelp
Located near the Las Vegas strip, there are several shops here for you to buy things. There is a parking lot if you have a rental car. You can also Uber or taxi here since it is not far from the strip.

Yelp
The arch is a great landmark to welcome visitors that they are entering Chinatown. There are variety of restaurants available not just Chinese. There's Thailand, Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese bakery and some shopping as well. I'm used to NYC Chinatown so, this is quite small area. All restaurants are lined up by guests to eat. One perk also is free parking.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a very nice area. Many food choices and an Asian grocery store. Worth a look around for sure

Yelp
Great mall and shopping plaza for FOOD! All types of Asian cuisine you will find it here or near by. But for finding souvenirs or small gifts it is definitely not worth it. The sellers are all up on you trying to sell everything you look at and every is EXTREMELY over priced. I saw the same bracelet I wanted at a different souvenir shop for $10 and here was sold for $25! That's more than double the increase in price. Cool tourist Asian mall to visit and to eat. Just beware of the prices.

Yelp
What a fun little place this is. Stopped in today to go to the grocery store and also to the Korean restaurant. Oh yeah we also went to the foot massage place. You can do all that in one little strip mall what a bonus. Parking is chaotic for sure. Many Asian restaurants in here and all look good. Also a boba tea place. Yum. It's a fun place to visit and the grocery is great!

Yelp
The last time I was in Las Vegas was 5 years ago, OMG the Little Saigon has morphed into not just Chinatown, that was a misnomer, it's now the most amazing Asian town, so many Japanese sushi restaurants, conveyor belt buffet n Korean bbq, shops, boutiques, cafes even bars! We're so exhausted sightseeing, I'd like to come back here but w only 3 nights, we can't see everything. It really sucked, I spoke to a taxi driver he had nothing to do n cussed out the demo fascists shutting down everything. That Japanese buffet I had the same in Tokyo was shut down indefinitely, it's not worth it for me to be served n have to ask for more. It's infuriating but still Asian town is alive n really crowded but heck, it's not more crowded than Walmart, if you didn't die shopping at Walmart n Home Depot, you won't die here, the wuflu doesn't bother anybody here.

Yelp
I'll have to second all former reviewers on this. After trying out the one Taiwanese restaurant (in the pics), I'll have to order a different dish than 'Stinky Tofu' which was wayyyy overpriced @ $7.99/10 little pieces of no tofu!!!! Seriously?! So I took off one star for that over-pricing on 1 of my favorite appetizer dishes. Yes the sauce was great & so was the spicy sauce but not for $7.99. I suppose I wanted an exotic dining experience out here while in Vegas?! I've definitely had more reasonable stinky tofu experience than this one specially in ChinaTown, Las Vegas. Now that I've tried that dish, I'll pass. But other than that, I will still return here for other dining choices as compared to all the time eating inside the hotel you're staying in. It's always best to venture out of the comfort zone; I couldn't have felt better about venturing out here to This specific ChinaTown though. Will return again to dine elsewhere. Nevertheless, the beef noodle soup that my mom ordered was excellent. Just pass on the 'Stinky Tofu' should do it. Aside from the Taiwanese deli I got to experiment, i observed while driving that there exists 3 huge blocks of ChinaTown Plazas all along Spring Mountain Rd where you get off from the I-15 North fwy.

Yelp
Mood - shopping Upon entering this strip mall there is so much to see, eat, and entertain as you stroll thru each corridor of the outside plaza or in the mall itself. There is truly something for everyone of all ages here. Each restaurant, tea place, bakery, retail store, realty, authentic grocery and travel agency has its own piece of history here. Ive been lucky enough to chat up several owners and employees over the years to learn more of the history from a personal perspective. As you stroll the walkways, there are several framed signs of history, art, & entertainment that adorn the walls. In the center of this plaza is a statue named " Journey To The West" in which the theme is based on. The Plaza was first opened 1995. In 1996 Clark County stated the Plaza to be an Asian Pacific American Cultural Center. The governor at the time Mr.Guinn actually designated the area as Chinatown in 1999. Would def recommend- With the plethora of growing shops in this plaza it is def one that must be entertained at least once. Location is Spring Mountain/ Wynn - ample parking, however it does get congested.

Yelp
I have been here probably 3 or 4x when in Vegas. I have been here inside this building with many small shops with my fam and with my folks. This is probably the BEST large complex for Chinese restaurants. Small and large and YUMMY! Boba shops too! We used to come in here to browse after eating at an eatery in this big strip mall in LV Chinatown on Spring Mtn Rd. There are shops with Chinese goods, travel to Asia agencies, etc. Very clean. This is a wonderful place to pick up items if you are looking for Chinese goods and services. The lot is full often but it doesn't take too long to cop a spot as someone is always leaving.

Yelp
Chinatown is great for the variety of little businesses however parking at night is a nightmare and there's not a lot of quality. If you look you might find some gems but it is mostly mediocre spots for not the cheapest you can find in the area.

Yelp
This review is so, very, extra overdue. I visit this plaza every time I visit Las Vegas but I have never written a review. So here we go. Las Vegas Chinatown Plaza is probably the most popular area to eat and shop in Chinatown. Perhaps it's because of the convenient location and spacious parking. We come here for Noodle Pot (my favorite), Diamond Bakery, Volcano Tea, and Great Wall Book Store. Some of the stores are inside so it's convenient during cold winter to browse and relax. There's also 99 Ranch Market attached to this plaza. This place can get crowded during holiday season so use caution.

Yelp
It was definitely a good experience visiting Vegas Chinatown. I had no clue Vegas even had one until a few weeks before my trip, and it turned out my hotel was within walking distance, so I gave it a go. You won't necessarily experience the authenticity like you would in Manhattan or San Francisco's Chinatown; the Vegas version is comprised mostly of strip mall type buildings. Still worth the trip either way.

Yelp
I liked it. Maybe I should've gone into more stores. I finally got a Buddha necklace which I've been wanting and a pair of earrings . The people inside were very friendly. I'm going back tomorrow. I loved the whole strip mall. I wish the restaurant inside was open tho.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice little strip mall. A variety of different stores and restaurants. Definitely not the largest "Chinatown" I have been to, but nice nonetheless. The stores are fair in price depending on what you are looking for. Some stores are a little on the high side and you won't find a bunch of bargains. I haven't eaten in Chinatown yet, but heard the food is very good. I am definitely looking forward to trying it. There is a large parking lot with ample parking. So that is not an issue.
google avatar

Steffie P.

Yelp
I found this place on yelp and thought it would be cool to stop by and see what was inside. There are a few restaurants and some stores selling a variety of jewelry and small toys. There's a small bakery as well. There weren't as many shops as I thought there would be. Most of them had similar items up for purchase. We bought a few items from the bakery. The coconut cake was my fav. Overall it wasn't the best place but it also wasn't the worst. It was nice to see a different side of Vegas as opposed to the normal strip shopping and food.

Yelp
Hold up I see all the Toyota's, Honda's, Nissans's and Hyundai's in the parking lot. Yup, I'm definitely in the Chinatown Plaza. This is the original plaza that spark the boom in the Chinatown District along Spring Mountain Rd. Most visitors expect to find only Chinese business here. Collectively this plaza contains various Asian restaurants from Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese Cuisine. They have a few Boba Tea shops and your typical made in China souvenir shops. Interestingly, this plaza contains the only Chinese Bookstore in the state of Nevada located inside the Chinatown Mall. There is the popular Ranch 99 market that needs a remodel and statues reflecting Chinese culture. Another cool thing is the large framed posters scattered throughout the plaza that contains information on Chinese culture and history. On the plus side, the parking lot is large with a lot of open spaces and it can get very busy during the weekends and the Lunar New Year season. It's worth checking out for any visitor. Do keep in mind, that Las Vegas is growing and Chinatown will continue to grow and evolve. FYI: The Asian population in Las Vegas is one of the fastest growing in the United States according to the recent census. 2017 Yelp Review #88

Yelp
Oh Wow this strip mall is Horrible!!! What a dirty, sad, and pathetic dump on Spring Mountain. At least half the businesses are not Chinese, that's ok. But is it FILTHY!!! I went looking for Dim Sum to go but found nothing! 3rd world construction and cleaning standards. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
4*Stars overall for having a bit of everything to conveniently accommodate all of us Asian Americans or Tourists - Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Japanese, etc. considering do not expect even any Asian plaza at all out here and particularly just 5 minutes away from Vegas Strip! Not a typical Chinatown as one might expect but if in need of something Asian for a change from the Vegas Strip, then this is the place to go to - 99 Ranch Supermarket, SF Supermarket, Paris Baguette, bunch of Vietnamese (pho) restaurants, few Thai, Korean, and Japanese restaurants, along with massage and karaoke places, etc. Pretty much 1-2 miles stretch on west Spring Mountain Rd running perpendicular to the the North end of Vegas Strip has all these bits & pieces of Asian shops, including Chinatown itself. Also there's a Chevron Gas Station in same plaza as SF Supermarket if looking for Chevron gas with way cheaper price than CA's Chevron. I filled my car up with Regular Unleaded for just $2.99/gallon compared to CA's current $3.49/gallon.
google avatar

Denise W.

Yelp
There is really nothing to get at this Chinatown. I don't think its even right for them to call themself Chinatown. I mean there are not a lot of Asian stores and especially when you compare it to the Chinatown in San Francisco. How can this be Chinatown? Ok maybe its because they have 99 Ranch Market. Well that's about it. Parking lot is bigger than the available square feet of all the stores added together. You won't have problem finding a parking. There are plenty or should I say too many. Chinese food in this mall doesn't even look appealing.

Anh L.

Yelp
this place is really run down, definitely need some sprucing up, we went across to Shanghai Plaza for more food options
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
Serves for a quick stroll. There is an upstairs, but not too much going on besides a higher view of the 'Journey to the West' statue. Watched it often as a kid, so I enjoyed that bit.
google avatar

Stacy W.

Yelp
The Chinatown Plaza is filled with restaurants and dessert places to choose from. Unfortunately, many are hit or miss but there some great places to grab a bite. The area is not that nice so I come down here only to go to this cute little novelty shop inside the mall and for Sweets Raku besides that I have no other reason to visit. It is fun to walk around and see the different restaurants the plaza has to offer though! Just be careful going during the night.
google avatar

Yelp
Really fun place to visit in Las Vegas. Fun souvenirs and good prices. Bring cash and shop around before committing. The bakery there is great.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
I like walking around Chinatown and looking in all the shops and reading the restaurant menus. They gave a big Chinese grocery store that's a one stop shop for all your needs. It's hard to pick a restaurant because there all good I like the bakery shop inside the main mall. It's always clean and safe most of the restaurants are open till early morning.
google avatar

Jake S.

Yelp
I just needed a place to waste some time ran into Chinatown plaza in Vegas. It was okay when I went into the mall area it was kind of expensive I didn't think the prices were good for the quality of the products but it was cool it was fun the food smell great all-around I did not try any of the restaurants this time but I plan on going back to try a couple restaurants in the plaza. If you're looking for some food and some kind of Asian culture fun this would be the place to go.
google avatar

MaryAnn H.

Yelp
It's more of a strip mall than a Chinatown. It's tiny and there's a bunch of shops which is nice. Overall it's quaint and small. There's a huge parking lot so that's not an issue. You can find everything here despite the size so overall it's good.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been to the Plaza many times but this year was the first time I went for the New Year festivities on Sunday. It was $3 to get into the vendors and the entertainment. It was fun, but I didn't stay around the entertainment too long because it was a warm day and it meant a lot of standing in place which is never fun. I did a walk around the vendors, got a free shirt and grocery bag from caesars Entertainment, won a paper umbrella by rolling some dice, found the Yelp table and bowed several time, and I looked at the assorted food vendors. While it was a fun time, it's not something that would be on my radar as a yearly event. I had a better time, as I have in the past, of just walking around the mall and looking at the menus of the various Asian restaurants and checking their ratings on Yelp do decide on future places to try when I'm in the area. Since I often go to Las Vegas Little Theatre which is in Chinatown, I can do two things in the evening and enjoy some good food before dinner. I did make a purchase. I stopped in the Diamond Bakery, a place I've been to several times before. I do like the Las Vegas Chinatown Plaza. Although small with many good places spread out to the west along Spring Mountain Road, this is still a fun place to walk around and soak up the sights.

Yelp
2.5 stars. Just a little less than "A-ok" There is a variety of shops and restaurants at Las Vegas Chinatown Plaza. We've been to a few of the restaurants. None of the restaurants have impressed us though. The only place here that we consider a destination is No. 1 Boba Tea. You cannot spot this place from the outside. You have to enter the mall, and there you will find it hidden away. All the other places inside Chinatown Plaza are just mediocre. There are much better restaurants and bakeries to be found elsewhere on Spring Mountain Rd. in Las Vegas.

Yelp
I came here for the first time with my family. We were excited to come at first since we saw such pretty pictures. It was definitely disappointing......once you enter into the little mall you see how dirty and run down it is. It was just sad....it has so much potential. The saddest thing is that the people who work there seem like they hate it there and they treat customers like dirt. We went upstairs to look at a store they had with a bunch of little nick nacks. Next to the foot spa or whatever it is. When we went in the lady of the store kept following us around like we were gonna steal her cheap stuff. My aunt was with us and she can be in those stores for hours, so my husband and I let her look around while we explored the rest of the mall. The other stores were fine, just nick nacks, nothing really organized just all thrown in boxes. I did have a pretty good boba tea and we took a look at Diamond Bakery. The bakery does look pretty beat up but their bread looked yummy. Well back to the upstairs nick nack store. I go back in to see if my aunt was still in there. The lady of the store yelled at me!.........she fucking yelled at me and said "OUTSIDE, OUTSIDE!" And pointed her finger directing me to get out. She didn't say anything else...I'm pretty sure it was because I had a boba tea but it wasn't even opened and never did it say anywhere that I couldn't have a drink with me. It took everything inside of me not to walk up to her and throw my drink in her face.

Yelp
I've been here two times now, and this area is fairly large and busy. There won't be any outside marketplace where you can barter for fruits and veggies and souvenir items like China Towns in New York, but there will be restaurants, dessert places, and indoor shops for browsing. There's even a Ranch 99 super market here if you're needing some groceries. Parking can be a tad frustrating, but it is available depending on the time and place you're heading to.
google avatar

Russ C.

Yelp
4 stars for Convienence and central to Las Vegas off Spring Mountain by The 15 Frwy. Parking may suck sometimes but you learn to deal with it, 99 Ranch Supermarket and a bunch of other restaurants to choose from. Planning a party or a get together near the strip. This might be an option for Asian related foods. You pretty much know what to expect at this strip mall/shopping center. Or if you want Chinese food but don't know where to go, try here as an option. Tons of restaurants on this street.

Joan N.

Yelp
A bit run down but nice shops. I'll be glad when Covid is over and more people can enjoy it. The grocery store has a good selection of authentic foods that aren't found in most other grocery stores.
google avatar

M-Lin G.

Yelp
Las Vegas' Chinatown is one of the most cleanest and easiest to find compared to other Chinatowns in other major cities. It pretty much extends all along Spring Mountain Rd and it's not too far from Korea Town. It's also really close to The Strip! There are so many different authentic Chinese restaurants to choose from as well as many popular dessert places. Volcano Cafe (originally Volcano Tea) is one of the most well-known boba places in Vegas. It's been around for years and is in the heart of the plaza. Another one would be No. 1 Boba Tea inside of the Chinatown Mall. Parking is never a problem here. Plus it's free! Many people think Chinatown would just have Chinese-based restaurants, but the one here in Vegas has grown to house so many different Asian restaurants. Filipino, Thai, and Korean are just a few to name. Many of the businesses are either open really late or 24 hours! If you're in town, please don't forget to make a visit to the Chinatown Plaza. If you're not sure what to try, here are a few recommendations and some of my faves: -Noodle Pot -Volcano Cafe -Sunville Bakery -Diamond Bakery -Thai Noodle House -Lee's Sandwiches (Open 24 Hours) -Korean Garden BBQ (Located next to the main Chinatown plaza on the second floor. Can't miss it!)
google avatar

Stefany V.

Yelp
As far as specific plazas and Vegas go, this one isn't particularly noteworthy- the giant arch and some statues in the parking lot let you know you're in Chinatown. But the fact that only a handful of the businesses and restaurants here are actually Chinese is ironic. To the left, there is Yuyu and to the right, a dim-sum place, with a grocery store anchoring one end and the mall in the middle and No. 1 Boba inside- Volcano Boba (also in the plaza) is a better pick though. There's better Chinese food found elsewhere than this plaza specifically, and the parking/driving is a little on the dangerous side if you get my drift.
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
Las Vegas Chinatown is unique. Driving is a better option than walking because the plazas are not too close to each other compared to other Chinatowns in the US. There are several plazas there: - Chinatown Plaza: the most popular and probably the OG. It has 99 Ranch supermarket, ginseng store, reflexology, travel center and restaurants. - Pacific Asian Plaza: Shun Fat supermarket is the anchor of this plaza. - Great China Plaza. - The Center at Spring Mountain. - Tokyo Plaza: Raku and Monta are here since they are Japanese =P I go to Las Vegas Chinatown when I get tired of eating buffets. You can get Chinese, Malaysian, Filipino, Vietnamese and even Japanese foods @ Chinatown. Craving boba? Chinatown has Volcano Tea and #1 Boba Tea. Too bad they don't have slot machines here. It would be cool to eat dim sum while playing slot =P
google avatar

Henry S.

Yelp
Dont waste your time coming here. Its not really a true "Chinatown". We went to the "Chinatown Mall" and its just a bunch of cheap "made in china" type of shops and it was actually pretty dirty. Skip it.
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
Back in the days when the Chinatown Plaza was just so clean and brand new. Now, it's the opposite. I come here once in a while to celebrate the Chinese New Year festival they have every year. Seems every year, this plaza is getting runned down. They really need to repair some of the buildings and need new freshly new paint in order to attract people. Even I am a local but I wouldn't come here because of old teared down buildings. The only place I go to in this shopping center is my favorite drinking place Volcano Tea in this shopping center. Even if I visit once in a while, I keep seeing these people begging for money in this plaza. Seriously, where's the security crew in this plaza? As for the parking, it's small spaces and always full. Save yourself time and go somewhere else, this is a tourist attraction.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
So this little shopping plaza is a hidden gem in the heart of Las Vegas. I am a total fan. I have never seen such fresh fish and meat before my entire life and they have the most random but awesome fruit selection you have ever seen. You'll find just about every ethnic appropriate food possible plus all the main staples of many other ethnicities. Prices are very similar to what you will find it an Albertson's or whole foods etc. If you're in the area make sure you go, the staff are always very attentive and will answer any and all questions you have :-)
google avatar

Kelie E.

Yelp
Maybe it's because I've never been to another city's Chinatown, but I really enjoyed coming here while in Vegas for EDC. We ate dinner down the road at Mr. Tofu (incredibly delicious btw!) and headed to the plaza to do a little shopping. Yes, the plaza is a little dirty, bu8t that's Vegas for you. We saw at least 4 places for boba drinks (yum!), an expansive traditional Chinese bakery, and lots of little shops for cheap souvenirs and trinkets. We also visited the Ranch 99 for some soy milk and chocolate panda bears. I'd love to visit again and try some of the other food places around here. Lots and lots of Korean bbq, pho, banh mi and other Asian deliciousness to be found.

H K.

Yelp
Came here for food and tried two restruant in two days. the supermarket was very clean with good selections, but, few of the restruant were averaged to below average. The Taiwanese restruant downstairs opens at 7:00 am, we came here for breakfast, prices were reasonable and food is above average, came back the next day for breakfast. Parking is plenty; but, forget trying to find shade.

Back P.

Yelp
Nice shops & lots of restaurants to chose from. We just did some shopping. Stopped at the bakery but they didn't have anything appealing (however, it was late afternoon). We'd go back.

Yelp
I was here on my birthday 26 of March, had some food, it's got really quicky but in a restaurant the don't have any desserts!!

Yelp
Las Vegas' Chinatown is definitely one of the cleanest major city Chinatowns I've ever seen. Seriously, this place makes San Francisco's Chinatown look like Afghanistan. The food is great, but definitely hit and miss. There are amazing gems to find, however, especially the further West you go. Noteworthy stops are Raku, Sweets Raku, Kabuto, Nakamura-Ya, Snowflake Shavery, Monta, Swish, and Tea Station. They also have a variety of massage places, again hit and miss as is the case with most Chinatowns. The Foot Spa by Raku is the best one. Overall, definitely worth getting off the Strip to check out and one of my favorite cultural places to explore with friends.
google avatar

Sherri B.

Yelp
Outdated, half stores vacant....dirty and we walked out of the foot spa upstairs because the ladies were so rude.

Yelp
Back in 1999, Kenny Guinn declared this part of Spring Mountain as "China Town" because apparently all Asians in Clark County are Chinese. Sure, you can argue that all Asian people did originate from the Chinese, but thats not the point. The Chinatown Plaza was the very first China themed mall in Chinatown. And today the Chinese community of Las Vegas is very honored that the most famous resident of Chinatown is Floyd Mayweather. This shopping center has a Filipino Restaurant, a couple of Pho places, a ton of Korean restaurants, and a huge shopping mall to buy Chinese gifts and Beckoning Cats. Like only 30% of this shopping center actually features Chinese businesses. Remember that Chinese food has a 5000 year history. So that's why so many of our favorite Japanese and Korean dishes look so similar. Every other Asian country stole their cuisine from China. A lot of you know that Ramen originated in China, but did you know that Sushi also originated in China as well? Most of us use this shopping center as a place to park because the shopping center with Ichiza, Yagyu Yakiniku, and Anime Ramen has no parking spaces. I've never been towed, but recently they hired this gigantic Native-American parking enforcer who looks f*cking scary! When I first moved to Las Vegas, I immediately noticed that all the different ethnic groups of Asian people hated each other. There was a gigantic and vicious inter-Asian rivalry going on. I didn't like this one bit because as a young child, I grew up in Arcadia, where one of the most brutal concentration camps for Japanese-Americans once existed. As a child I remember seeing Chinese-Americans get told to "go back to Japan". During the LA Riots, many African-Americans in the area used to say racial slurs to Chinese-Americans, telling them to go back to Korea. My point here is that we as Asian-Americans all had to suffer together because they just don't care what specific type of Asian we are. Vincent Chin made this argument a fact when he was murdered. The very first documented Asian-American was actually Filipino. But, the very first large migration of Asian-Americans were Chinese. They paved the way for all the rest of us. Since they first set foot in the United States, they were hated and vilified for no reason at all. In the 1850s, a legislative was passed that made Chinese men unable to testify in court, in 1862 California residents voted that all Chinese residents should be taxed for being Chinese, 1878 the United States Government revoked every Chinese immigrants citizenship as Americans even if they were born in the USA, they were also prohibited from getting married, and in California it was NOT illegal to assault a Chinese man, in 1882 all Chinese immigrants are banned from entering the USA. Most of these laws were not repealed until the 1940s!! Frequently, I walk around in Chinatown and see a "westerner"acting completely disrespectful and making racist jokes towards every little Chinese decoration in the plaza. The reason they do this is because the Chinese people are too polite to them and allow them to do this. These "westerners" should thank God everyday that they didn't do that in a Vietnamese district like Westminster California, because I guarantee that some Vietnamese guy would have beaten the living crap out of them, abducted them, and brought them to the backroom of a Pho restaurant and force them to play Russian Roulette. Yeah, it's called "Russian" Roulette, but the Vietnamese are the only people who are Man enough to play it. All I ask, is that you treat the Chinese with some respect when you come here. You don't see Chinese people come into stores like "EXTREME John Smith's HARDCORE Dirt bikes, Surfboards, and Skate Shop" and disrespect you guys.

Yelp
Anything can be found here. Especially, the new Paris Baguette just arrived. Also, no problem with parking.

Yelp
Inside the mall are a couple of shops that sell stuff that bring luck and good fortune to your home such as dragons, Buddha, lucky money cat, bamboo plants, etc. It's nice to look at the first time around, but there are about 3 other stores that sell the same stuff. There is one shop that sells Chinese magazines and DVDs. Towards the back of the store they carry Sanrio (mainly Hello Kitty) and anime figurines. This is my favorite place to check out at the Plaza. There's also boba places, Chinese food, and a bakery on the first floor. There is a foot reflexology place upstairs that costs 18 dollars/half hour.

Yelp
- I have to give them credit for being the first (or very early) complexes to establish Chinatown in Las Vegas. - Needs more parking since the place is so popular. I come here mainly to ride the Vegas Express Bus (Chinese bus) between Vegas Chinatown and L.A. for $25 one-way. - Compared to Cali any Chinese (or Vietnamese) business in Vegas is usually not as good whether it be 99 Ranch supermarket, Sam Woo's BBQ restaurant, dim sum, banh mi or pho. Still, I think the quality and definitely the prices for Asian products and food is good considering we're in the middle of a Nevada desert.
