This local Asian supermarket has assorted fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood plus the usual Asian dry goods. Prices are great and some are lowest in the LES. Staff are friendly and efficient. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

The female employee Changle in the fruit department of this supermarket has a very bad attitude. She forces customers to buy things and if they refuse to buy, she starts swearing at them. She also keeps gossiping behind their backs and keeps saying, "Go and complain, I'm not afraid." The employees think that the boss will not punish her, so she becomes more and more excessive and swears very harshly. I hope the boss can educate the employees seriously and warn them to be careful with their words and not to affect others' mood for shopping.

Google
One of your typical local Chinese market. Downstairs is produce and meats/ seafood as well as frozen goods while upstairs has your spices, sauces, instant products, and snacks. Prices are reasonable but some of the produce you can get cheaper from street vendors. Overall it's a place for locals not tourists.

I've only been here a few times usually after eating at the Golden Unicorn. I've been to better markets that are closer to the subway. That said. It's not the worst places I've been to. The service and cleanliness wasn't enough to make me go out of my way to shop here.

They have so many different types of Foods, Sea foods, Snacks, Toys, and more. They will help you with some of the things that you can't find anywhere else.

This was the first Chinese supermarket that I've shopped at in the city. The aisles are clearly marked and the store was overall pretty clean, but the selection wasn't as extensive as I had envisioned. The cashier also wasn't very friendly and just tossed my purchased items down the counter after scanning them. I'm pretty sure she didn't look at me once. But it's fine, I got what I needed and I got them at a pretty good price.

Google
I would repeat numerous times: “DO NOT EVER SHOP AT THIS STORE!” I have bought countless expired products at this store that were on a discounted price. They put expired products on sale to motivate people to buy. Who knows if someone will suffer from food poisoning? Additionally, they do not offer refunds for expired food even if you show them the evidence and call the manager. So for your safety and health, STAY AWAY!

Yelp
Japanese Snacks are cheap but Icecream/frozen products aren't. I got a Japanese Ice cream pack and excited to share with my friends.....but taste so old.... :( I've checked the date was still ok. It was Mochi Icecream...taste really bad. So, Don't buy frozen items! It looks like it's all melted and put into the freezer again many times...too bad. If you're 1st time you might spend a lot of $ but I've noticed nothing special....Udon noddles aren't cheap. I'd prefer to go to East Broadway one! (Across from the post office) It's very cozy and friendly. I can find what I need plus cheaper!

Yelp
This supermarket used to be a Hong Kong Supermarket. The grocery store has two levels, where the ground level sells snacks while the basement sells groceries. There are cash registers on both levels. After realizing the drinks were downstairs, I head downstairs and chose ones that were $1.99 each. I then head back upstairs and check out there.

Yelp
The location of this place is convenient for me. I go there probably once a week or every other week. The place has a lot of categories of merchandise. I usually do not buy meat or seafood there so I can't comment on those although I think they can make the seafood area neater. I buy dry goods and items in the refrigerator/freezer sections, and produce. The selection is adequate but I wouldn't mind if they expand the variety of merchandise. At times, and I don't know exactly why, they move the location of sections and that makes it confusing and harder to find the items I was looking for. There's an item that I've been waiting for a long time. A worker told me that the item sells slow so they don't have it that often. I think it'll be great if they can refresh the place.

Lien L.

Yelp
Rude as hell even for a place in ctown. Refused to sell ice cream pops saying that the freezer is bad and the ice cream is old but proceeded to put back the ice cream pops in same freezer. Plus that particular brand was not there the week prior so it was recent shipment. I understand Cantonese as well but they acted like I was stupid for asking why I couldn't buy it when there was no sign and no one else was stopped from buying items from the same "bad" freezer. If it's a bad freezer why are you still putting product into it? So beware of their refrigerated/ frozen products

Yelp
An excellent Chinese/Asian supermarket that will cover all your Asian grocery needs. I shop here at least once a week and am never disappointed. Not as big as the ones you'll find in Brooklyn or Queens but this 2 story gem is one of the biggest on Manhattan. 2nd floor carries all sorts of dried noodles, spices, sauces, herbs, teas, cookies, candies, and little knick knacks for Asian inspired cooking. The lower level has a full butchers counter, assorted live and frozen seafood, vegetables, and a refrigerated and frozen section carrying dumplings, noodles, tofu, and drinks. The only thing lacking is their limited fruit selection but otherwise they will fulfill all you grocery needs.

Yelp
One of my go to supermarkets in Chinatown. It is large but not overly large. The store has a good (not great) selection. Most products seem fresh but like most Chinese stores not the best quality compared to American stores. Pricing is average although I have seen better pricing on certain items elsewhere. The setup for the store is solid. Upstairs is dry goods (ramen, spices, sauces, cookies, snacks). Downstairs is where the action is with more traffic, selling fruit, veggies, seafood, meat, noodles and other frozen products. Note it is difficult to find a staff members who speaks English. There are discounts on certain items but check their freshness and expiration dates (they try to get rid at a cheaper price of stuff getting to go bad). One of the funnier things about the store is that they post photos all over of people who have previously shoplifted at the store. All and all a good one stop shop for Chinese products especially if you are taking the F train at East Broadway after (1 block away).

Yelp
The short Chinese guy who is working at the fish section needs to be fired. This isn't the first time I have rude service from him. I don't know why he spent time arguing with my request instead of doing what I as the paying customer asked. It wasn't a hard task. Last time, he refused to catch the fish in the tank I want so I didn't get it. I'm speaking to him in Chinese so there isn't a language issue. More times than not I don't get what I need from him and have to ask someone else for help. Is he a relative of the owner or something and that's why he is so rude to customers? I mean I'm not the only one who has walked away not getting the fish out of sheer frustration with this guy, right? Today, I asked him to slice my salmon steak into half. This has been numerous times when I ordered it. The woman before me had hers sliced into chunks. He proceeded to argue with me about how it isn't right to cut it and he won't do it. Then he walks away. I asked the other Latino guy to cut it and he sliced it, just like he cut up the salmon steak for the woman ahead of me. Took this guy less time to cut up the salmon steak than the time the short Chinese guy arguing with me.

Yelp
Two levels of Chinese grocery to stock your pantry and refrigerator. Above this supermarket is a budget Marriott hotel where this building is fairly new built in late 2000s. This space was former home to Hong Kong Supermarket that was destroyed by a massive fire which leveled the entire building (both HK Supermarket and private residential) in 2009. http://www.boweryboogie.com/2013/11/large-chinese-supermarket-opening-corner-pike-east-broadway The upper level contains all the dry goods for a large selection Ramen noodles, cookies, snacks, candy, my all-time favorite Pocky, etc.) Price is reasonable as they carry all the major Asian brand names for snacks, noodles, cookies of dry goodies.

Yelp
Located in the heart of Chinatown, this supermarket addresses all my cravings. It is a two story supermarket with dry food upstairs and fresh produce downstairs. My family would come here to purchase seafood or meat because most of the time it is fresh. I on the other hand love shopping upstairs. There is a whole aisle dedicated to ramen! (Don't go and tell me how to live my life because ramen is life). I barely see any place that sells sapporo ichiban ramen, unless I have not been out much... There is an aisle dedicated to munching goodies. Though there is a very limited selection of American snacks such as chips and what not, they have a wide variety of snacks from Asia, hence it is a Chinese supermarket. The staff here are generally friendly, though sometimes you get the occasional rude ones but who is here to pay attention to them when you've got so many goodies?! As long as they don't charge you wrong! My go-to supermarket I am almost here at least 3 days of the week when I feel like going out. ******Make sure to always check your receipt and when they scan your items, sometimes they double scan or enter the wrong prices.

Suzune K.

Yelp
Nice place to buy Chinese food. They have some Japanese snacks and Japanese condiments such as Ponzu, wasabi or so. Some staff does not speak English, so make sure you have a pic what you want so you can show them. Since 7/1, they do not provide plastic shopping bag so bring your own or pay 20¢ or so. My fav and recommend is sweetened soy milk. It's always reminds me my childhood in Taiwan.

Jenny W.

Yelp
I don't get the poor reviews. This supermarket is by far the cleanest in Chinatown, and also has the best / freshest produce. Prices are therefore slightly higher, but I'm willing to pay the premium for quality. The last time I spent significant time in Chinatown was back in 2013, before this supermarket opened. Back then, Hong Kong Supermarket was the winner in terms of cleanliness / spaciousness, and became my go to grocery store in Chinatown. However, Chinatown Supermarket rivals HK Supermarket in terms of size, and definitely wins in terms of cleanliness. I can't believe I've been missing out on this supermarket for so long. My new go to for groceries in Chinatown.

Dewan A.

Yelp
I like this place. Though, their customer service is not great, due to none of the employees know English or even acknowledge their customer. However, they take credit cards and have all the Chinese/Asian groceries and drinks you want. I will come back.

Chen Z.

Yelp
This is a 2 story market with dry goods upstairs and produce downstairs. These guys will try to hustle you down at the fish asle. It's a typical asian market with the the attitude from the employees and bad stocking jobs. Looking beyond that it's a decent market.

Riki T.

Yelp
The quality of the vegetables there is very disappointing. The price is also slightly more expensive than the others. Over all can't compete with Hong Kong supermarket or the other big ones. Don't recommend this place at all!

Jane K.

Yelp
The only place I shop at for fresh produce, meats, sauces and ramen (unless I feel fancy and want something organic from Whole Foods). Probably one of the only grocery stores in Manhattan where you can get all of your groceries for the next week or so for under $75. However, it is a little stinky and slippery in there. Plus, vicious grandmas will push you with their carts, so be aware. When checking out with credit / debit they may ask to see your ID! Perhaps lots of counterfeiting and credit card fraud, so just be prepared for that.

S L.

Yelp
We don't need the patronage of laowais with their slacktivist compassion LOL. Anyway, this spot is affordable, has great range, and I can prepare five dishes for under forty bucks.

Wah K.

Yelp
I m trying give no starter but I had to give one to post. So there is one star and I took it back. Very bad for elderly person to go shop there. My mom is a senior citizen and walking with a cane. I asked the man from supermarket to excuse us to use the elevator as he was blocking the way to there. He said someone is using it. It made me think it's like a restroom I was asking. We didn't buy anything and left. Very rude and unconsiderate people.

R H.

Yelp
Hours have changed to 9:30am to 5pm due to the Coronavirus. They require everyone to use PPE to ensure the safety of all staff and customers. They have everything you need and are constantly restocking shelves.

Winnie W.

Yelp
You have to be smart when you patronize those supermarkets in Chinatown. Never buy meat and sea food in Chinatown, it would be safer and healthier to buy those in some decent local supermarket. Yet, I have to credit Chinatown supermarket of manhattan with cheap price. I recommend you buying broccoli in the supermarket, because those broccolis' root have been cut. Beverage, yogurt and intact frozen food( like dumplings, but be wary do not but frozen sea food sort of things), condiment are a way to go. This time I only went to the basement, I can not find the way upstairs, as there are not clear indications to upstairs.

Tam N.

Yelp
A new C-town supermarket addition, this market can be found conveniently under a Fairfield's Marriott on the corner of East Broadway and Allen. Being two stories, you'll find your dry goods and a small selection of American brand foods on the top floor. Down below, you'll find all the produce, meat and seafood. Price wise, its on par with the other markets in the area but it does carry a wider selection for hard to find things. I would compare it to Hong Kong Supermarket. The produce you can definitely find cheaper selections outside. The butcher and seafood is one of the cleanest, I've seen and he price is definitely competitive. Great new market if you're in the area. **Oh and did I tell you they take CREDIT CARD...yes we're still in Chinatown

David Z.

Yelp
This is your typical Chinatown supermarket. I almost bought some eggs here once, but then decided against it (after seeing some dude who works there sorting out eggs that had broken and then adding the rest of them to other egg containers (mixing cheep eggs and the free range eggs). I would not buy any fish, meat, or chicken there (G-d knows where it is from and nothing is labeled in English), but I do like their selection of bok choy and condiments. One time we were there, the basement smelled so bad my gf felt sick (no joke). I told her she has to tough up if she wants to hang with me in Chinatown.

Blair L.

Yelp
The jelly noodle bowl is full of molds (see pics), and see the expiration date on the packaging - it's the next year! Even expiration dates can't be trusted any more nowadays! Unbelievable! Always have a 2nd thought when you shop here!

Vince V.

Yelp
I like this place and it has become my new go to Chinese and Asian supermarket for most things. Has most of the Chinese and east Asian ingredients that I look for to stock my cupboards however, like most large Chinatown markets it is missing South and Southeast Asian ingredients. This is slightly smaller than the other big Chinatown markets so some of the traditional American items are limited as well like bread and dairy products. The seafood, meat, produce, and staff service sets this place apart from every other Chinese grocery in the city being better in most ways. The meat section is almost as good as dedicated butcher shops and the seafood section has more variety than most of those seafood stalls on the streets. Also everything seems cleaner here.

Rima F.

Yelp
I would like to be able to shop here since there is such an interesting variety of goods on the two floors of this store. The problem is that the smell is so off-putting to me compared with other Chinatown markets. It's not just the smell of the seafood and produce downstairs- it's something else. It's all the smells from the many products combined and perhaps they have a terrible ventilation system as well. The other day a girlfriend wanted me to accompany her while she bought fish. I tried, but I could only last in there for 2 minutes until I had to escape and breath the fresh air (LOL) outside.

Julie B.

Yelp
Terrific asian supermarket very close to the east broadway F train. Lots of chinese, japanese, thai and korean non-perishables (sauces, spices, dried goods) plus huge fresh and frozen sections. Fish, meat, veggies, fruit, tons and tons of fresh noodles, tofu, etc. A really great one stop shop that's incredibly convenient if you don't want to venture into the more touristy areas of Chinatown.

Kate S.

Yelp
I was disgusted by seeing the conditions of the overcrowded fish and turtle tanks, those poor animals are suffering before their slaughter. They have extremely overcrowded fish tanks and a spotted a lot of dying/already dead fish floating around. And it was so inhumane to watch a worker butcher a turtle and split open its shell on his block, I almost threw up watching him rip the turtle's shell off and cutting it into tiny pieces. They'll also charge you extra if you need additional plastic bags.

Thomas B.

Yelp
This is a great supermarket for cheap groceries. Since I moved into Chinatown, I can honestly say that is the cheapest supermarket that I have been to. However, it may not be the cleanest. They have so much fresh meat and fish out that it lays out in the open for hours and possibly even days! I usually stick to packaged/name brand foods here because it is convenient and super affordable. It does close early though! Be sure to shop there before 07:00PM!

Patricia Z.

Yelp
This is now my go-to supermarket in Chinatown. Produce, meats and seafood in the basement and everything else upstairs which is annoying but oh well. Good prices and selection, the service is typical for the area. The location is also convenient for me personally since the others are smaller.

C C.

Yelp
The newest and cleanest full-range grocery store I have seen in Chinatown. Everything is a bargain compared to elsewhere in Manhattan. I like that you can scoop your own dried beans, and that there was a wide selection of meat and seafood. The produce, especially the fruit, definitely wasn't as tasty or fresh as what I'm used to getting from Brooklyn Fare or even Trader Joe's, so I'll probably skip that next time.
