Quietly one of the city’s most consistent Cantonese menus—locals note tomato beef, beef chow fun, and clay‑pot dishes. Recent Yelp activity confirms it’s operating with takeout and dine‑in hours.

Great Chinese food. This is a good “hole in the wall” place. Usually people do takeout so we were the only ones in the restaurant that seats maybe 25 people. At first I messed up and accidentally got the fried noodle that’s really crispy instead of gettting what I thought was gonna be boiled and then PAN fried noodle but I was still happy with my order it was actually better than I thought and I ate all of it like a big boy. Lol. I will come back and try something new again.

Yum!!! The Deep fried Pot Stickers were crunchy and tasty. Choice of the Vinegar sauce or Sweet and Sour sauce. Hot and Sour soup with Pork was too Spicy for my wife but perfect for me. You can always ask for mild spicy. Salt and Pepper Fish was wonderful. The House Chow Mein Hong Kong Style with the crunchy noodles and gravy was delicious. Can’t wait to try the other items in their menu. Service was excellent by Jenny.

Google
Food was very good, service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice and quiet for a relaxing and unwinding dinner after a long day.

Google
The employee was really friendly and the food was prepared fast. The location was clean and the restrooms were clean. Really good prices for the amount of food.

Google
Was an amazing experience ! They were extremely friendly and hospitable staff. You can recognize the history that this restaurant has with the customers and the boss and servers. Everyone gets along and everything is so peaceful and Chillax when you come here I feel like everything is good except for the salsa dip with the potstickers besides that everything I ate for my orange chicken, chow mein, hot and sour soup was all good

Keyanna Ramirez

Google
The food was very bland no flavor. And portions were small! I’ll stick to Shanghai Chinese on walnut &’ Akers ! It wasn’t worth the $35 I paid.

Google
Got almond chicken, there was one little piece of chicken, sweet n sour pork half was breaded half wasn't the half the wasn't was super hard, the wontons were stale. Bad food never going back. On the way out I saw a roach crawling on the wall.

Yelp
My son and I went in for lunch. Not sure of how this place was, we decided to try it out. Although there was no customers seated, my son and I enjoyed a very good meal. The chicken Broccoli was delicious and cooked perfectly. Mrs Kit was very sweet and talkative.

Yelp
On a recent trip to Visalia, we got the craving for Chinese food and after searching Yelp we discovered Chinese Kitchen was one of our best local options. The target customer demographic in this area isn't generally Asian, so we tempered our expectations before dining here. We were impressed by the extensive menu offerings and after some deliberation, we settled on the Dinner for Two which started with a Won Ton Soup and fried shrimp and pot stickers as appetizers. The entree included sizzling rice wor bar, Peking pork and pork fried rice (we substituted for pork chow mein). The restaurant was very traditional in closing the meal out with fortune cookies. Our favorite due to its flavor was the Peking pork, and we also enjoyed the fried shrimp, pot stickers and sizzling rice wor bar. The only misses were the Won Ton Soup (we felt the flavor of the broth was not quite right) and the pork chow mein (it arrived lukewarm and lacking in flavor but it was an improvement after dousing it in chili sauce). Chinese Kitchen doesn't appear to be located in the best neighborhood, but it is easy to tell that this establishment has been around for quite some time. The best part of our dining experience was the service. Our greeter and server welcomed us, took our order and checked in on us multiple times. We also had the opportunity to chat with the owner and she is very welcoming and helpful. If you're in Visalia and have a craving for Chinese cuisine, Chinese Kitchen is as good an option as any!

Yelp
Chinese Kitchen serves quality Cantonese food which I am accustomed to. I never get bored dining here. Service is prompt and friendly. We had friends visiting from Daly City , so today they're in for a treat We ordered Tomato Beef ,Beef Chow Fun along with Salt and Pepper Shrimp. The most exciting dish was the Salt and Pepper Shrimp. Lightly breaded not battered and seasoned perfectly . The size of the Shrimp were good sized and not tiny. Tomato Beef and the Chow Fun were yummy as well. Daly City is far from Visalia. My friends are looking forward to their next visit to Visalia and dining with us at Chinese kitchen *** May is API Heritage month. Support Asian owned businesses. Stop #1 of 13 . May 3 , 2023 ***

Yelp
It's good. Don't be presumptuous based off the location or the way the outside looks. It's straight up 1990 inside decor, I don't think much has changed since I was a kid. I haven't been here in probably 10 years. The pot stickers were very good but the dipping sauce had too much vinegar in it, could be done better. The fried shrimp appetizer was standard fare. My wife and kids really enjoyed the sweet and sour pork and the beef chow fun. We took a flier on trying something new so we got the sizzling chicken clay pot. It was surprisingly really good, kind of reminded me of Panda Express mushroom chicken with WAY more veggies. I'd totally come back. I do wish they improved the ventilation inside the kitchen though. The restaurant smelled quite heavily of oil and it stuck to our clothes. I'd rate the food as top 5 Chinese in Visalia, which isn't really giving accolades; but it's what we got. Prices seemed a little high, but hey...hasn't everything gone that way?

Yelp

Yelp
This is our first time here and we will definitely be back. The place is clean and they give large portions. Oh and the food taste great!

Susan W.

Yelp
Ask for no MSG. Very fresh, crisp veggies Also kind quick service. Nice clean place. Good for Take Out!

Rosalyn C.

Yelp
Love their food for years. Truly old school great Chinese food. Never disappointed!

Teresa S.

Yelp
I have tried a few other Chinese restaurants in the area that aren't at all bad but Chinese Kitchen is by far my favorite! Their food is consistently good and the staff I've dealt with have very been very nice and friendly. It doesn't look like much from the outside but when I did eat inside, service was good and it was a comfortable atmosphere. I mostly do take out and the lady who usually works the front has been very welcoming.

Yelp
This was our go to place for Chinese food but they apparently have a different person cooking or something. There were only 2 people in the restaurant at 6 pm. This was my first clue that things were not the same. Their prices have gone up significantly as well. When I picked up the order I had a bit of sticker shock. $75 for vegetable egg foo young, potstickers, chow mein, Mongolian Beef, and lemon chicken. When I got it home and we started to dig in it became instantly apparent why nobody was eating there during what should be peak time at 6 pm. Everything was off and lacked flavor. The lemon chicken was especially bad. It was horribly overcooked and tasted like slightly sweet corn starch. The egg foo young and potstickers were ok but the Mongolian beef was mushy and lacked flavor. I actually feel somewhat insulted that they are charging more for really crappy food now.

Madeline W.

Yelp
Orange Chicken and the bbq pork are great! Don't forget to get a jelly donut- the best in town. Quick friendly service and consistently good food.
google avatar

Kunal S.

Yelp
Long wait. Told us 20 mins, once we got there, we were told almost done. Waited 40 minutes and then were told that they ran out of noodles. They had sent somebody out to go get more and we finally got our food in one hour and 15 minutes. To be fair, food was really good. But, we will never go there again. They should just be honest about how long it will take.

Cole H.

Yelp
Been coming here for years! Classic family style Chinese food! Don't forget the egg foo yung! Or should I say egg foo yum!
google avatar

Cathie P.

Yelp
My sister and I came here after a great movie. We place our order...shrimp fried rice and orange chicken It was slow service but was well worth the wait. I m from Houston and I honestly have to say this is better than what I have had there

Ange C.

Yelp
The young white girl at the register was super nice. The food however, put it this way, overpriced for mediocre food. Over $11 for a lunch special with 2 items. I ordered orange chicken and pork fried rice which was mushy and not fresh. I ordered a side of egg rolls $9 for 4 tiny egg rolls. I don't think I'll go back again.

Julie R.

Yelp
From the exterior you might wonder. But it's hands down the best food in town. We moved but drive back anytime we're in the mood for Chinese food.

Monica B.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. Food was hot and tasty. Atmosphere is kind of plane and quiet but that's how we like it so that was just fine.

Caroline G.

Yelp
We use to go there quiet often Tonight the food was over salted the pork was tough and everything else was just plain strange

Sarah R.

Yelp
I went to get some dinner cause it was the closes place with a bathroom and they made me hold my pee to purchase before I used the restroom very rude. And their chowmien is like all bean sprouts where are the noodles? And forgot my soup but charged me for it .

Yelp
This is the only place we'll eat Chinese Food in Visalia! The nicest people with great personal service, and the best tasting menu! Always fresh, and prepared just right every time. We are regulars, and always will be.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place, we come here often. We never leave disappointed, food is fresh not greasy. This is a place that you come too if you like vegetable, I'm always disappointed when Asian food is missing veggies. Generous portions! Great customer service too!
google avatar

Roland S.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. Recommend the Beef Chow Fun with Black Bean sauce and seafood clay pot.
google avatar

Foxx C.

Yelp
This place was over priced an under flavored with small portions didn't matter cause I ended up tossing it anyway. I thought since it was 14$ for a combo plate in a place l wouldn't be comfortable sending my mother it was gonna be great. Unfortunately it was a disappointment the left me hungry

Yelp
We both had the number #2 for lunch, and although it was very good, we remembered For so many years that it was delicious, this was good... Somethings just have to change. The service was excellent, fast and speedy service, super polite people.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese food in Visalia. They are e nicest people and will make your food fresh to order.

Randall F.

Yelp
This place offers incredible service!!!!!!! If you haven't been, you need to! So grateful the experience we got to have considering the crazy times it has been. Family friendly restaurant, the kindest people, and my friends and I had a great/memorable experience! Thank you Chinese Kitchen!

Michelle B.

Yelp
While I usually have amazing food here, today it was a little off. Both the sweet and sour pork and the honey walnut chicken we ordered were over cooked and tough. They tasted good but hard to eat. The teriyaki chicken we ordered was not at all like we expected and was just thin pieces of chicken with very liquid sauce but it tasted okay. Overall, today was not as good as it normally is but hopefully next time will be better.

Yelp
I came here around 8pm. I ordered Broccoli and beef , Kung Pao Chicken , and House special fried rice. Beef and Broccoli: well the broccoli was not fresh and the meat looked weird. It was probably reheated. House special fried rice: it consisted of shrimp, chicken, scramble egg, pork , peas , carrots and obviously fried rice. For me it was pretty good. Even though the chicken was bland. Kung Pao chicken: it consisted of bell pepper, onion, celery, peanuts, and of course chicken. It need lots of flavor. Peanuts gave it flavor. Chicken was bland. The area: Honestly looked shady. The environment: it was lonely when I arrived. The restaurant was super old and family oriented. Customers service. Nice, but weird. They did check on us. On the side note , their goldfish fish tank was dirty. Also my girlfriend didn't get a fortune in the fortune cookie, I thought that was funny.^_^

Yelp
Very sad this place has changed hands hardly any shrimp in shrimp fried rice won tons and pot stickers are totally burnt 3times now. Tonight we ordered pan fry noodles and got chow mein which is more $ but when told the guy this is not pan fry noodles he held we were wrong that is pan fry noodles 3 times. We won't be back

Yelp
So I've been coming to this place for about 7months and they just got new owners and I have to say the previous owners good was good but the new owners food is a much for flavored and it's really good. I want to wish the new owners good luck. Welcome Kit Lok and your Husband..
google avatar

Nate S.

Yelp
I really wish the new owners would have kept the old orange chicken recipe because the new one is just sweet.. the combos are average but the service is phenomenal. The place looks very clean and they are accommodating when it comes to changing spice level/ sides. The woman in the front who doubles as a server is very nice and tries to make sure your drink is full and you have everything you need so don't forget to tip her! This place improves every time I go back.

Yelp
I love Chinese Kitchen, their food is always so delicious. The owner is very kind and courteous! Must try the spicy pork chops! They've kept me coming back for years!

Yelp
Chinese Kitchen, once a staple of Chinese American cuisine that was shared by many in Visalia. You will be missed..... RIP Chinese Kitchen..... My visit here was alright with the light cheery customer service I'm not accustomed to from the original owners but damn their food was good! The new owners have cleaned up the counter and got rid of the fish and the new decoré is light yet beautiful. The smells upon entering reassured me that the food was going to be the same. #ubersadface Now it's a sad, bland mix of new and old. My sticky "fried" rice was way different than the original fluffy and flavorful rice of old. The brandy wings, although not overly greasy, were hard and dry, not crunchy and juicy and meaty like they used to be. And I'm also disappointed that you can no longer get broccoli beef or even broccoli chicken with the dinner plates. Although i ordered a quart, sadly it too was lacking flavor. I'll always have my memories of overfilled plates and full tummy moments. Hopefully they bring back the old recipes, till then I will have to find another place to fill my need for brandy wings and fried rice.

Yelp
If you are looking for great chinese food on a budget, look no more! The staff is friendly and I love how my brother and I were accomodated, even if we were just getting takeout. The smiles alone are worth just walking in. Go try this place. They did not disappoint.
google avatar

Mari B.

Yelp
Some food is excellent while others are not so good. First the good, the egg drop soup is very good. The best item on the menu...chicken chow main with soft noodles. The rice is okay too, I just don't care for the onion scallops they put in the rice. Oh and I've tried the lemon chicken which is pretty excellent as well. The one thing that I absolutely hated was the beef broccoli it tasted like what dog food should taste like. It was horrible! The beef even looked weird but I tried it cause it was a lot of money just for that single dish and I was the only one who'd be eating it. I didn't say anything because my husband knows the owners son so I just politely ignored the dish. It was the next day that I finally told my husband to remind me to never order the beef broccoli. Luckily for me he didn't mind. The atmosphere is very dingy and old but I'm not the type of person that cares about exterior. If you just focus on your dinner date you'll get past it. ;) Overall yes, we will be back but only for the dishes we know and like very much!
google avatar

Yelp
I heard about this place by word of mouth and decided to phone in a order. I called and the lady who picked up was pretty friendly and suggested the popular item if i had never tried their food before. She said it was going to be about 15 mins which was pretty quick.. I was kinda scared by the look of the place but was wrong. I put in a order a la carte of pork fried rice pork chow mein and orange chicken. When i got home and opened it up I could smell how delishes it was .. The orange chicken was very flavorful .. The chow mein tasted just right and the rice was perfect..It was amazing and so far one of the best if not the best in visalia
google avatar

Brenda T.

Yelp
Waiter and staff were friendly which created a comfortable and pleasant experience; food was great too!
google avatar

Julian B.

Yelp
The food was good i had the orange chicken and it comes with rice which was good but the chicken was drowning in sauce and my co worker ordered the sweet and sour pork which was a small amount but it worked really good with the rice and chow main. The service kind of sucked the guy was nice at first but never ask us if we wanted something to drink then when he took our order he rushed away and didnt ask or let us say what we wanted to drink so we had to stop him and tell him Over all it was good and we would come back again... maybe not soon though
google avatar

Hardev G.

Yelp
Me & the Mrs were driving towards Fresno to get lunch when searching through Yelp found this little gem in Fowler with such great reviews. As being a lover of Chinese food we decided to check it out. Really glad we did, the restaurant is clean, the service was outstanding, the owner was hilarious with such a great friendly attitude and the food was quite simply devine. It was lunch time and the place is busy with locals and regulars as the owner welcomed them by name. When locals keep coming back you know your onto a winner. We will definitely be back and we will definitely tell all our family & friends about this place. This is now our GO TO restaurant.
google avatar

Lori L.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese food in the valley!!!! Great food, great service!!!!! Large portions, fair prices, great food!!!!
google avatar

Kirk K.

Yelp
Read one of the other reviews who said this was the closest thing to Bay Area Chinese food. That's pretty accurate. Not fancy, but clean and lots of variety on the menu. The food is very good. Service is great, and it won't break the bank either.
google avatar

Corey G R.

Yelp
Recently owner change in think. The good is actually slightly better and telephone service is greatly improved. It's my go to local chinese
