Ching's Hot Wings

I’ve been a fan of chings for a very long time during the highest highs and lowest lows. Me and my friends have literally eaten here for over a decade. When they used to have an amp to call out to go orders.With that being said, this was really upsetting experience. I understand mistakes happen but serving raw chicken as a restaurant is unacceptable. Even more so the hassle of getting a refund. I was told I’d have to bring the box back, to show a full picture, and that the chicken didn’t look like it came from their establishment so I’d have to bring it back (about 18 hours after I ordered it). Eventually I was given a refund, but the hassle and back and forth left a pretty bitter taste in my mouth. It wasn’t a customer preference or something that couldn’t be proved, it was a health issue, it wasn’t handled properly, and my brother got sick. Chings has great food, food so good that despite mediocre customer service, it’s managed to stay afloat and build a reputation as one of Memphis’ best nevertheless, this experience was the nail in the coffin

I have ordered from here every single weekend for the last few months. They are addicting! My food is always good, always hot, never have had anything messed up. They're truly the best wings in Memphis! And I'll be ordering again this weekend lol

First time trying an Very DISAPPOINTING! Wings bland no seasoning on the meat… Onion Rings burnt looking with all this damn seasoning i DIDNT ASK FOR.. I wish all businesses stop doing that it should be optional some people dont eat their food like that…ASK FOLKS SO THEY WANT SEASON ONION RINGS..I ATE 1 wing an 2 Onions rigs thats broke all up.. smh folks just dont care how they serve pple.. but food high as hell for no reason..

Good place for wings. But more than that the service was great and I enjoyed seeing people from all different backgrounds enjoying the food. That says a lot about a business here in Memphis.

I haven’t had Chings in a ding long not sure if things have changed but I ordered four tender meal and this is what I got. Just by looking at every one comments and pictures I know my fries was over cooked and sat out. When I saw the tenders I laughed because I didn’t know I was ordering a kids meal. ( maybe I should have just took with the wings) For $14 I feel my meal should have been satisfying but it was not and I picked over the whole meal, I had to go and spend more money just to get a hot decent meal. I don’t know if I caught them in a down day but the meal was not giving. I’m all about supporting Black on Business but if this is what I’m getting in return I don’t know.

Best wings in the city! It's very popular so sometimes it's busy and can take a little while but it's well worth the wait. Plus you never know when a celeb or hooper will show up. Update: Still to this day the best wing place I've ever been to!! Honey hot 5 piece whole wing combo is my go to. Gotta get the blue drank as well. There's nothing better

Great wings. 10/10 would recommend. This place tends to be busy with take out orders so you may wait awhile but it is worth it.

Oh MY! So I am from TN but live in Oregon now. I was recommended this place by a friend in Oregon. I was in the area so I came by. My friends recommendation did not disappoint. He told me to get the blue lemonade and wet wings. SO GOOD. I wish I had got more! The fries were good. I could've drank a gallon of the blue lemonade. The staff was really friendly and you could tell everyone there was enjoying their food. GO! You will not regret it!

How in the world have I missed this Memphis gem until now? I've driven by here at least six thousand times. I am not even sure what to say about this gross oversight as a Memphian. This place felt so at home to me, like a page from my adolescent and teenage years. My family had a house around the corner on Kimball back in the day. I went to Evan's, Sherwood, and Sheffield before I graduated from Wooddale. I loved every single thing about this place. It may not feel the same to some, but this place is beyond beautiful. All of it... screams Memphis! The people who work here and/or own it are wonderful. That isn't lip service in any way. I have not had anyone that was that concerned about my comfort, potential needs, quality of food, follow up for later needs, and just over the top service, ever, in my entire life outside of $$$$ fine dining. The wings were killer. Perfectly crispy, sized right, cooked well, and the sauce was thick, rich, and deep. You can tell that this no bullshit bottled sauces. The crinkle cut fries were cooked to perfection and seasoned with peace, love, and goodness. My goodness. All of the food was served too hot to even pick it up. Perfect. Love it. Love it. Love it. I ordered extra for later (always a pro move) and Mr. Williams darted across the room to get the door, then take may take out bag all the way across the parking lot to my car out of sheer kindness. I am currently disabled, you see.... He insisted that he was there to help even after I told him I had it under control. He told me "you didn't have to come here, man, I got you". We had a great conversation in the parking lot. He is a very nice man. I can't wait to spend all my money here, probably at least weekly until I die. You should do the exact same. '24 - 63-100

Best hot wings in the town. No competition order them dry though with honey gold on the side. If you try them I know you'll be back for more they are just that good and reasonable priced too. On God. Seasoned fries are delicious as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Service is very organized and you're in and out the door. So next time you're thinking about wings try Chings!

The food here is nothing short of amazing! The service is great, the woman at the counter was extremely friendly! The ambiance is nice and quiet, sports games playing and I've personally met the owner, such a nice guy. The wings I had gotten were the honey hot and MAN, they were amazing!! Ching's is THE PLACE for really and I mean really good wings!!

We had a large order that was needed fast. They delivered and were upmost professional about it. The owners daughter delivered it to us at the Liberty Stadium with no complaints about having to find where we were located. The wings were delicious. I had some tenders and they were perfect. Will definitely be ordering again

The wings are amazing, and sauce is everywhere. The fries are covered with cheese, and the rolls are fresh. The drink is strong, and the condiments were as requested. The staff was friendly and professional. There was a nice crowd. The ambiance was lively and exciting. My overall experience was great. Great food and service every time I visit.

This place hits different! In Memphis for one day. Already had lunch, but heard about the wings here, so ordered 5 Honey Hot Party Wings. Jenny A said, "first time? I'm gonna do you right!" She gave us a whole meal, plus drinks! Quite possibly the best wings I've ever had! Fries were incredible too. Great food. Great service. Will DEFINITELY be back!

Chings was okay for delivery. Honestly with more sauce and slightly larger wings, I could really recommend this place. The flavor was there.. they were just dry. That could have been because of delivery tho. Can't speak on ambiance as I ordered through doordash.

I can't come to Memphis without stopping at Chings! They do it right every time and I really appreciate that! I also love the rich history behind the family running this gem. I hope they feel all the love from visitors and the people from Memphis for providing great food and service for so many years.

Absolutely incredible as always. Being from Memphis, I make it a point to go to Ching's Every. Single. Time. I go back home. The food is always outstanding and the people who run it and work there are incredibly cool. Like most places, inflation and supply chain issues have caused prices to go up, but the product has stayed consistent and awesome. Best wings in the state...maybe best wings in the south.

Wings are good but $15 for 5 party wings with fries??? And you have to get a drink? And the lady at the front ALWAYSSSS GOT THE NASTIEST ATTITUDE!!! Disgust me so bad

So I always loved chings but haven't had them in a few years I decided to pay them a visit. Completed an online order and had a friend to pick it up for me. When I got my food it looked really good however the taste and overall quality was not how I remember it I did place my order during lunch so they might've been overloaded with orders. Not sure but I ordered 10pc part wing combo lemon pepper paid for extra lemon pepper seasoning and hot drizzle with cheese fries and a lemonade. The fries were good and of course so was my drink however I could tell that my wings had little to no seasoning. I ate some and I couldn't taste or see any lemon pepper I did see a little hot sauce drizzle but not much. I think maybe next time I will have to actually go in and order myself.

I've heard so much about this place. Any Memphian will tell you that this is the best wings, period. Last time I called it was an hour and a half wait. Today I called as soon as they opened. Customer service was friendly. Took my big order and got everything correct. Ordered 50 wings, 40 regular hot and 10 honey gold. The regular hot isn't that spicy. Has a kick but it's enjoyable. The honey gold is very sweet. Good sized wings. Great flavors. Wish they had more sauce, but still good. The French fries have great seasoning! Wow! Crunchy and hot. Overall the hype is real. Try this place out!

So I went here thinking this was a Chinese owned place. It's not. Googling the history, apparently the owner's mother, who instilled their passion of cooking, was nicknamed "Ching" in high school for her Asian-like features. I guess we have something in common, since my nickname in high school as an Asian growing up in America in the 80's was "Ching-Chong". The staff was very nice. Lots of memorabilia on the walls along with TVs. They had plenty of sanitizer and the tables were clean. We came around 1:45 pm on a weekday. It wasn't packed but there a constant flow of customers coming in throughout our stay. Most had preordered which I think is a must here, unless you're just hanging out, because it took about 45 minutes to get our food even when it wasn't crowded and really busy. They had several hiring signs so maybe they need help. Indicative of the times. So just gotta be patient. We tried the honey gold wings and my kid had the tenders. She told me "daddy, it was worth the wait". Well if the kiddo likes it, I like it. And actually I did like it. The cashier had said the honey gold sauce was not spicy but it actually has a little kick. So I'm glad I just got plain tenders for my kid. The prices aren't cheap but I think wings in general have skyrocketed lately. I don't understand why but it is what it is. The parking can be tight even when we went. Would hate to see it when they're busy. I love the name of the road - getwell. Lol. Maybe apt for those having the suicide sauce.

I used to frequent Ching's when I was in school at UofM. I stopped going after I graduated and let a few years pass. I went back again the other day for the first time in a while and noticed that quite a bit has changed. They've expanded and updated some things. They've also updated their menu. The prices have gone up from what I remember and they've added a few new items. It was still just as busy as it used to be when I'd go years ago, so I'm glad I thought to call in my order. Nice to know they're still getting good business. The food overall is pretty good. This last time I got the 9 piece combo and added a side of onion rings. The seasoning they use on the fries and onion rings is SO GOOD! Just like I remember. I got honey hot and extra hot wings(half/half) sprinkled with lemon pepper. Nice and flavorful! I'd recommend Ching's to anyone. I even have an "I love Ching's" T-shirt. The family that runs the place is very nice and it's always a nice atmosphere whenever I visit. I'm already thinking about my next visit!

Was in the area recently and tried it due to its recommendations in a local publication. I tried the suicide, extra crispy. While they were fried to my liking, and the heat was delightful, the flavor was disappointing. It is a chili powder-based sauce, not mixed well - you could feel the grit. Chili powder isn't my preferred taste and in my experience isn't high on the list for other wing lovers. There are plenty of other locations with more inventive and delicious sauces. I suspect the high ratings are due to its close proximity to a college. If you're looking for some more, um - sophisticated - taste, try another place. The service was pleasant and as fast as could be expected.

The fries go crazy. Very nostalgic. I remember them boosting their prices but it seems they might've went down. TVs everywhere.

I absolutely love some honey gold wings and I was craving them one night and stopped here.. I've eaten here before so I already knew the drill.. 5 pc. Wing combo honey hot w the blue drink! I loved every bit of my wings spicy but not too spicy to where it overpowers the sweet honey. Omg The only disappointment would be the fries.. and I Love the seasoning! However, they were no longer crispy since they had been put in the box with my steaming hot wings..Smh. Why not wait till I arrive to box everything up so I may still enjoy my hot n crispy fries along with everything else? And I was on time picking up my order with the 20min wait time I was given for a call in order.. Oh, almost forgot. Y'all I love eating the carrots and celery whenever I order wings at any place. How do you think I felt when I saw only 1 carrot and 1 piece of celery in my box...

One of the best places to go for wings and attention to detail. I have never had a wrong order, something not fresh, something of inferior quality. Mama Chings standards for her products are to be respected.

Oh, my beloved Ching's...I had so many great meals at this gem of a Memphis restaurant in college -- it's one of the many Memphis spots that I miss the most. My go-to has always been the honey hot tender combo. I'm not exactly sure what the sauce is comprised of, but I know it's delicious. And at the end of the day, that's all that matters. The breading is crispy and just crunchy enough...even when doused in sauce. The Hawaiian roll and ranch dressing served on the side both offer some cooking relief from the spicy sauce. The seasoned fries will leave some residue on your fingers, but the payoff is well worth it -- they're some of my favorite fries. I always recommend anyone visiting Memphis to try Ching's. It's authentically Memphis and very, very tasty.

Great service... Food is really good... The signature drinks are amazing and sweet... Customer service is really good, and friendly.. The owner Lafayette is really cool.. Definitely is a must place to visit when In Memphis.. The hype is real!

Ordered here 2/10/24 for a 3 tender combo, and it took 42 minutes to receive my order. People ordered AFTER me and received their food BEFORE I got mine. The food was cold and service was terrible. Today I tried to go back to order again. Took 36 minutes not to receive my order, but simply just to PLACE an order, but before I could continue, the person who takes the orders was CONSTANTLY putting me on hold to answer phone calls and was not tentative and didn't really seem to care about me or my patronage at all.

UM, THE MEMPHIS CLASSIC! Ching's has THE best wings in MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE baby!! After being a vegetarian for 4.5 years, I decided to try some wings here last winter and thank god I ditched that lifestyle!!!! I always order the 5 whole wings party combo (honey HOT!) and am always impressed! The blue lemonade is also to die for! The wait can be long sometimes, but it is quite understandable! This place has gone downhill. I just paid $50 for 2 whole wing combos. This place is suppose to be like the top tier wing place. My fries had no seasoning, there was no veggies. I ordered honey hot. No honey in them. I complain about these things because this is what I'm used to seeing from this place in the past. But the last 2 times the prices have just been ridiculous and the food lacking. If I knew this is what I'm going to get I would have gone to the place down the street for like $30 less. NEVER AGAIN.

so we're in the south and i love BBQ and Chicken Wings. Heard so much hype from friends and co workers about Chings off Getwell Rd. Its a tiny place with maybe 10 booths, very sports bar like with memorabilias all over the place. Love the southern hospitality and heartwarming staff. I ordered a combo that included whole wings with half Hot and half Lemon Pepper flavor along with some fries. I liked both but probably leaning towards the Lemon Pepper since it was craving a dry seasoning that day. The Chicken was crispy and tender while the Fries were crisp even with my ride 15-20 mins back to the office. I was afraid all the steam would build up and the fries would get soggy but i was amazed on how it still held its crisp as if it just came out of the kitchen! I'd visit back soon and try their other flavors and items on the menu soon.

Best hot wings I've ever had. Just amazingly cooked, sauced, and served. The staff was very friendly, welcoming , and helpful. This place is probably crazy on game days. I'm definitely eating here again the next time I'm in Memphis.

Yooooo I'm from the Midwest and they showed me out at chings!! THESE ARE THE BEST WINGS I HAVE EVER HAD !!! The honey hot, the regular hot, the fries, all understood the assignment and then did some extra credit. And even better, the staff made us feel super welcome and knew they were bout to blow our socks off. Can't say enough good things about this spot !!

First off the the "sauce" is good but it's not all that honey hot that is, but the wing size, the price, and the service sucks ass! 2 dollars a f@cking wing for a baby bird? At least if you going to charge that price make sure the bird is fully grown! Charging prices like it's in Beverly Hills it's f@cking orange mound. To each your own I want be back!

Swing by this place hearing all the raves it gets and it did not disappoint. Outstanding service, superb wings and flavor. The owner is a super nice fella and easy to talk to. When I'm back in Memphis I will hit this place up again, no doubt about that!!

For the past 10 years I've told everyone that I've known about how good this place was. It was my most favorite wing place of all time. Once they raised their prices after covid happened I was still team chings. But I went there last week and first off they didn't even get my order right. Second the chicken wings are half the size they used to be. Third the wings weren't even good. I don't know how Chings has declined so much but it saddens me. If you want good wings in Memphis now a day your best bet is Wing Guru or Mikes, I wouldn't waste time or money with Chings anymore.

The young lady I dealt with was very nice. She even suggested which flavors I should get and she was spot on. The honey gold hot and the seasoned. Both were good and fresh and hot. Fries were typical and the red punch was good. Will definitely stop by here next time I'm in Memphis. These wings are at the top of all wings I've tasted.

Terrible customer service . I was told my order would be 15 mins & ended up waiting 45 mins on my lunch break & had to get a refund processed. The refund would take 3-5 days.

I love Ching's! Be sure to call ahead and place your order if you're getting it to go! This place is always packed. My go to's are the honey gold or the mild hot wings. I'm a spice lover and even the mild had my mouth burning lol so be careful! Each combo order comes with fries and a roll. I always get their special "blue drink" not sure exactly what it is but it's delicious. Whenever I'm in this area and want some good wings, I hit up Ching's!

These were amazing. There is something about the sauce and seasoning that was addictive. I had the honey and the seasoned, could not stop eating them and have been wanting to go back ever since! They don't look that great, both in the pictures and in person, but there is a reason they have such a following. A must-try in Memphis, if you like wings.

I've been going to Ching's since 2009 and let's just say I haven't slowed down on going there. Best wings in the city. The fries are crazy good also.

Seeking: Piping hot, fresh, and saucy Look no further, because Ching's has that in spades. Generously slathered in sweet, richly flavorful honey gold sauce which reveals fresh, tender chicken meat beneath... make it a combo and you'll get fries, a sauce, 1 carrot stick,1 celery stick, a roll and a drink for about ten bucks. I chose the 5 whole wing combo in the honey hot sauce because I like 'em spicy. If you like buffalo wing-level hot I think you can go up a notch to a more hot flavor, but I was very satisfied. Sauce flavor was the highlight of the meal. It's probably one of the best wing flavors I've ever experienced in my life, sweet with a little kick and so generous with the helpings! The fries were seasoned well, however they are the crinkly kind with what seems like liquid potato in the middle which is not my particular favorite. The bleu cheese dressing on the side was average, and I wasn't a fan of the white dinner roll. Overall, if I could eat honey hot whole wings from Ching's paired with the fries and dressing from Wingstop, that would be my ideal 5 star wing combo. Special drinks include Orange Mound Punch, they were out when I was there but apparently people are a big fan of its sugary goodness. It's quite a luxury to be able to choose between drumettes and whole wings! Locals have described the dinner roll in the combo plate as a "vehicle for sopping up wing sauce," so that may something to try!

I am from Mississippi and I came here for a day and choose to try this place. It's very busy and the service is great, but I personally didn't care for the food because my fries were too crispy and over seasoned. My brother and friend both said the same. The honey gold wings and Kool Aid was good though. It's okay I might give it another chance.

These wings were amazing. I love me some buffalo wings and they were perfect taste of heat. I also was able to try their golden honey wings. Those are a sweet and tangy sauce on some crisp wings and it's a perfect flavor. Recommend.
