At the Allison Inn & Spa, Siletz Chef Jack Strong Explores Native Food | Eater Portland

"At Chinook Winds, the casino and hotel owned by his tribe, I learned that Strong spent seven years managing a large-scale property where he reconnected with his culture—brushing up on the Siletz Dee-ni language, hosting powwows and feeling community pride that one of their own served as executive chef." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

I stayed here for a few days during a conference and was not disappointed. The junior suite room was spacious and clean, with a fabulous view of the ocean and coast from the balcony. Easy beach access and hotel restaurant is right next door. | Free shuttle to/from the Casino upon request if you don't want to walk. Everything in the room worked properly, including the mini-fridge. Two televisions - one facing the couch over the gas fireplace and one facing the bed. The Wi-Fi was super speedy. My room was on the 3rd floor, and was easily accessible by elevator. The only issue was the housekeeping - activating the signal light for service was ignored & a call to the front desk was required to obtain housekeeping services. A friend had a smaller room in the other building and reported it was not the same quality. I recommend you spend a few dollars more to get a Junior Suite if staying here, it is worth the money.

Very disappointed. I was shocked when we pulled up. The hotel is so run down and looks trashy. I was hoping the inside of the room would look better. It’s not. I paid for a delux room and there is nothing delux about it. The window (with a view) is very small… and you can’t see through it. My jaw dropped upon walking in. I am a native Oregonian and I have never rented a hotel with with an ocean view that you can’t see out of abs that is tiny. I went rob the front desk to see if there was another room that the window is at least visible through. They tried telling me it’s always like this on the coast. I said no… I’m an Oregonian and this has never happened. When they couldn’t trick me, she got a manager who started the same thing. They says they are sending a cleaner in a couple of hours to wash the windows. I’m sure that will help… for about 5 minutes. The windows are old and not made for coastal weather. Cheap. I’m disgusted. I spent a lot of money to come here and enjoy my vacation. Now I’m just annoyed and frustrated. Will never stay here again.

In my 31 years of gambling in multiple states and cities to include Las Vegas this casino has the tightest slots I've ever played. Don't expect to play $100 at the minimum bet for more than 30 minutes. My spouse and I don't expect to win but would at least like to play for a little bit before losing. We consider gambling to be expensive entertainment and know the odds aren't in our favor. Be careful at the craps table as well because you may not get paid what you are owed. Unfortunately this will be the last time we will ever play at this casino. The pit bosses and most of the dealers are some of the best in the industry. But when you bet and don't get paid correctly it doesn't matter. We also ate at the Seafood Grill and Lounge for our 27th anniversary and were disappointed. We ordered the lobster tails and they were under cooked. The ribeye was over cooked, had no flavor, and wasn't tender at all. The manager took care of us which was appreciated but we were disappointed on our anniversary. If you are wanting to at least get a little bit of entertainment for your money I don't suggest this casino.

Great place to see a live show , and gamble all while enjoying a cool view of the Pacific. The sound of the ocean you can hear in the hotel at night is so amazing. When the tide is out the rocks right out front have the most amazing Star fish and mussels attached to them.

Loved our stay here! The rooms are spacious, clean & comfortable! Plenty of towels and soap! Free coffee every morning. We had an ocean view and it was absolutely gorgeous!! Cons: -Rooms are Not in the casino itself (but view of the ocean makes up for it & shuttle on property) -pool is in another building -registration is in different building

Did not care for the parking lot at all. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. I didn't realize I booked a micro room. It was so smelly, smelt like a locker room. It was so small and all we heard all night long was the neighbors TV. It had to have been on the conjoined wall. The bed was hard, only 1 chair in the room. A coffee pot but no coffee to go with it. The bathroom was not what I call clean at all. The room was so hot and muggy but we couldn't have the widow open because people were on the walkway smoking every 20 min. This was not a fun way to spend our 20 year anniversary. We did not complain because when we checked in and was informed it was a micro room, she looked for a another room and said they did not have anything available.

My husband & I stayed two nights in the Junior Suites. The ADA 3rd floor room was spacious, comfortable, & welcoming. Everything worked, so no issues with TV, fireplace, etc. There’s a serious lack of handicap parking spaces, a significant concern. Shuttle isn’t accessible for walkers or canes. ||The casino is thankfully smoke-free, with the exception of an enclosed slots area for puffers. Slots weren’t generous & my Players Club card wouldn’t work most of the time, so my points rarely accumulated. ||It’s surprising there is no sundries shop, a place to grab snacks, toiletries, a newspaper, aspirin, etc. ||The overall experience was fine, though.

I give the Chinook Winds hotel and casino a 10 out of 10. The nicest, accommodating staff. Everyone smiles says hello even the painters while working stopped to say pleasentries, ask how we were doing. Room was awesome great views, clean everything worked. The restaurant again so nice attentive. Casino lost my rear but again all staff were so very helpful and kind. Going back for sure. Thank you, Bobbie
