16JAN.2025 My first visit here and my 2nd purchase from the franchise(ordered online through Postmates from the Rockerfeller location NYC). The Bethesda location is in a good spot. Not far from the grocery store and restaurants; all a short distance away. The lady who’s name(starts with a Y) was so friendly and super helpful. Thank you for matching my energy and being super patient with me. I went in for the cannoli cookie 🍪 (that flavor is for Friday/tomorrow)that wasn’t available. Thank goodness I had backup flavors. The prices were suitable for the amount and size of the cookies. The space inside is so nice and welcoming. I purchased cookies 🍪 to go. If I was going to stay it would’ve been a nice visit. Nice addition to Bethesda Row.

Had the S’more ice cream and s’more cookie. Came to about $10. It was a little warm to sit and indulge but it was the really perfect amount of ice cream to cookie ratio. But I recommend sharing one of you get it! I really didn’t need to eat all of it 😅

Laura was so enthusiastic in showing me all of the new cookie flavors that I ended up buying a dozen!! She was so friendly and help and really set a great tone for the experience. Explained and signed me up for points can’t wait to come back!

Warm, thick, and soft cookies that satisfied late night sweet craving. Not a lot of selections left in the late evening, but i am still satisfy with the warm cookies. I got the S'more, white chocolate macadamia, and milk chocolate chip.

I happened to be walking by and wondered if this shop had vegan cookies. I was not planning to get one, just wanted to know for the future. But nope! The gentleman working there was such a good salesman and the cookies smelled so good...I had to get one. I got the vegan Brookie and it is super good. I've tried this type of cookie at another local bakery and didn't care for it. This was delicious. Yum!

This is the BEST cookie place I’ve been too. The cookies are amazing and the service is so good. Would highly reccomend.

Such a cute brand that they made! Warm yummy cookies and a cute shop! Of course not cheap for cookies but a good place for dating and grabbing a snack :)

1.17.25 I purchased three cookies, including the cookie and cream, chocolate chip, and triple chocolate. My favorite was the chocolate chip and my least favorite was a cookie cream. My husband said his favorite was a triple chocolate. They were a little bit harder than we would've liked. We did put them in the microwave for 12 seconds and that softened them. If you purchase two cookies, you get a third one for $2 off. If you buy 5, you get one free. Aside from cookies, they also sell beverages and merchandise. Additionally, you can also add a scoop of ice cream.

The food was great, but the people there were a bit odd. Right when I walked in I immediately saw the weird dude that wears that hat.....I think hes following me. I was annoyed at first and just thought he was odd until I found out he works there. What? He then jumped over the counter and chased me out of the store. Good food tho!

Weighty cookies, flatter than Levain cookies and less sugary than Crumbl cookies. There are weekly specials with a new line-up of a few flavors while there are the standard, classic flavors always available (Chocolate Chip, Cookies and Cream, Confetti, Triple Chocolate). The cookies get sold out quick and some of the flavors were gone by 2pm on Sunday. The display case of flavors isn't organized the best way and a bit confusing between the new and the standard flavors. It's hard to tell the difference. The S'mores cookie was a bit disappointing, it was a good chocolate chip cookie just not S'mores. While the cookie was gooey and full of chocolate chips (true to the restaurant's name!) and crispy on the outside, it was topped with a little bit of marshmallow and didn't taste like S'mores. I expect a stronger marshmallow topping and a bolder graham cracker tastes (maybe a special crust?). The staff was a bit stand-offish and aloof, and less than enthusiastic to take my order and answer any questions. This was a bit surprising as the new kid on the block especially while Levain is more bustling. While I feel like the cookies have potential, I'm curious and might come back to try some of the new flavors.

Thank you, Andrew for your review of Chip City. When you and your Community Manager have a sweet tooth that just won't quit, you take those recommendations seriously. My first impression was how cute this store is and then, I inhaled, and it was all over! I was magically propelled over to the cookie counter. The smell of freshly baked cookies is my favorite aroma. Boy, did it smell enticing. There was an amazing variety of hot, sweet, chewy, and delicious cookies. I ordered the s'mores flavor and it was delicious. The service was excellent and I learned they are opening more stores in our area. I also learned that cookie flavors are changed each Friday. There were cookies n cream, butterscotch toffee, funfetti, and triple chocolate cookies and many more. Now about this cookie being 4 servings, that might be for elves, but I don't think I would make it into 2 servings, and that is with a lot of will power. But, most of the cookie stores serving our area are all about the same cost. So, I wasn't shocked. So cute design, fabulous service, and excellent taste. I will definitely be back.

I really wanted to like Chip City as I had been excited to try. However I will not be returning again. I love their flavor options but the cookie lacks in flavor. The texture is great, crunchy on the outside and gooey in the inside but they have got to work on the flavor delivery. I wouldn't recommend, I would go for Crumbl instead!

Cookie or Bakery Row might be a better name for Bethesda Row I must admit, we have a lot of bakeries, and we got another, Chip City. I love their Cookie Butter Cookie, which rotates on and off the menu as a dairy-free option. Every week there's a new dairy-free cookie flavor for the lactose intolerant. All the other flavors are routinely updated, I believe the chocolate chip cookies are one of the regular ones on the menu. The cookies are tasty and good, I've enjoyed all the ones I've purchased. With my favorite so far being the Cookie Butter. The staff are fantastic, friendly and with good customer skills. They have a rewards program, so you can earn points towards future cookies. Here in Maryland the cookies cost $4.75 on average for each cookie, with some specialty ones costing $6.50. The calorie count 170 per serving and 4 serving per cookie. So with the cost and calories, these are definitely special occasion treats, for celebrations, parties or all the other fun occasions of life. You should try them out, if you haven't already. They are a real sweet treats.

A cute little shop in downtown Bethesda! Super clean and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the cookies and different products they had! I was a bit disappointed with the cookie though. The s'mores cookie was burnt and I could tell it didn't taste good. The biscoff cookie wasn't really filled as much as it should have been and I didn't like the cookie to filling ratio and the whole thing felt off and the outer cookie was flavorless. I may try another flavor out here one time but was disappointed to say the least.

More Cookie Treats! Last week I visited to try the "Sweet Potato S'Mores" Cookie. Also got the "Brookie" & "Cookies/Cream." The shop smelled sweet of freshly baked cookies; as I walked in. Not a coincidence-the man behind the counter mentioned "Sweet Potato S'Mores Cookies" Almost ready to come out of the oven. The Sweet Potato Cookie is tasty w/fragrant warm spices of nutmeg/cloves in the filling topped with/toasted marshmallows. However the cookie exterior a bit heavy/dry. "Brookie" think sugar cookie blended w/brownie-sweet, creamy, tender cookie w/vanilla/deep chocolate flavors. Delicious! "Cookies/Cream" Always Good! Prompt Friendly Customer Service!

Stop by this storefront place for a cookie. Baked fresh and totally satisfying. Opened just blocks from Levian bakery, this place gives it a running for super cookies. The eat-in area has a cheap look and feel. Workers seemed like they were waiting for their shift to be over. Overall, go for the cookies.

Blueberry cheesecake cookie - great cookie to start off on, crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside Cookie butter with biscoff - even more crispy on the outside while maintaining a gooey inside. Broke apart beautifully. This was our favorite! French toast cookie - this was a miss for me. It had the texture of bread and nothing deeper going on Cookies n' cream cookie - not gooey inside but moist and crunchy. Very enjoyable Overall cookie rating: 7.5/10. None of the cookies were too sweet which I appreciated. However, all the flavors kind of tasted similar to each other. The people working there were kind and sweet. The interior was squeaky clean. Pardon my photo of some half eaten cookies, we were too excited!

#ThisFeedsMySoulStatusConferred S'mores Cookie Perfectly cooked. Soft gooey inside with a good melted chocolate pull. Slightly crisp outside. Melted marshmallows on top were perfectly charred. Chip to dough ratio was excellent. You could taste the richness of chocolate used, with the hint of cinnamon as a nice touch. Graham crackers presence was a nice compliment. One of the best cookies I have had!

Overall Experience, 2/5: We were so excited to try this place, but it was a big let down... Food/Drink, 1/5: The texture was overly dry, lacking any noteworthy taste. The red velvet with chocolate fudge filling failed to deliver a discernible flavor profile. The Cookies and Cream, unfortunately, registered as mere flour with no distinct notes. The Pecan variant, though acceptable, struggled to bring forth much flavor. The Chocolate Chip probably was the one that saved it, but even that... I've had way better. Pricing, 1/5: Taste was not worth the price Service, 4/5: Online ordering was pretty easy and by the time we got there the cookies were ready. Aesthetic/Atmosphere, 3/5: It has cute decor in the store, but in terms on location it is on a decently busy street.

The location was very cute, bright with color and very clean. I like that they had different products to purchase like mugs etc. I got a three pack and the cookie variation was delicious. The customer service was nice as well. Will definitely visit this location again.

I think this place probably has good potential. I love the size of the cookies, definitely a big treat so i only have half but all 3 of them were raw in the middle. The corn bread being mostly raw. Which is a bit unsafe for eating, also interesting there isn't a quality check before hand. The chocolate chip and cookie butter both have little moments of being raw on the inside but not as intense. The flavor is big and slaps you. Overall, good concept, bad execution. Maybe i got a bad batch.

The 'Crumbl' style, as I call it, is highly controversial amidst my circle, being super thick, chewy and sweet. With the sweet tooth I have, that's not an issue for me at Chip City, and who can resist the amazing smell when you step foot in there?? It's a cute shop with just a few seats and a lovely display of cookies. I can't remember about the others, but I LOVE the fact that they typically have one or two vegan flavors for the dairy-free consumers. I have sampled quite a few flavors... some highlights include the Teddifetti (Teddy Graham + Confetti), the hot chocolate dark cocoa, and sweet potato s'mores which was INSANE!!! The cookies are pricey (imo), but read the sign -- each cookie is 4 servings, so cut those things up! I appreciate the strong presence of nutrition facts, too. There's a lot of hyperlocal cookie competition, and I think Chip City fits right in. Give em a try!

It was an impeccable cookie! I loved the slight crunch on the outside and the softness inside. My top choice was definitely the confetti cookie.

The nicest people (and yummy cookies and ice cream!) after a long day I managed to drop our entire box of cookies on the floor. The sweet woman behind the counter filled another box for us on the house. So appreciate it and the cookies and ice cream made our toddler's day!!!

Good solid cookie and a nice alternative to the other popular NYC chain. Their chocolate chip cookie was served warm and gooey. The flavor was spot on. The only con is it's a bit pricey but it was to be expected

My friend and I had to stop here for a treat because we couldn't help but notice how cute the store was while passing by. The smell coming from the cookies was also impossible to ignore. My friend got a red velvet cookie with a scoop of chocolate ice cream, and I got a Nutella cookie with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. To be honest, the flavor wasn't anything extraordinary. It was still good, don't get me wrong! I'm not sure what brand of ice cream was used, but it wasn't very tasty. Nevertheless, the service was amazing. The man working there at the time walked us through the ordering process and told us a bit about the cookies and specials.

Delicious confetti cookie but as another reviewer also mentioned, the middle was raw. I wish I got a photo but my kids threw it away immediately. It was deff raw dough compared to actual soft baked middle. I'm happy they caught it

Cute space, the smell of baked cookies hits you as soon as you open the door! A nice variety of flavors to choose from and they're laid out nicely to look at while you're deciding. These would be a great birthday or celebration gift for someone too.

The cookies are AMAZING. The cookie butter cookie is not only delicious but vegan! Service was great, the worker guided us towards what to get since it was our first time! Such a cute spot for a sweet treat!

I was really excited to try out this place, given that I travel to NYC often and would often hear of this place but never had the chance to try in NYC. I just got the chocolate chip cookie and the taste was underwhelming, too sweet, and taste-less (?). Despite being overly sweet, I didn't really feel like there was really any taste to the cookie itself and it just felt like large lumps of sugar. Despite having a big sweet tooth and frequenting other cookie shops such as Levain (which their cookies are also incredibly sweet), this one unfortunately did not hit the spot. I might come back to try one of their rotating flavors, but if they mess up the most basic cookie.... I don't feel as inclined to do so.

Over priced and waaaayyyy over hyped. Cookies are essentially like hockey pucks with the texture and dryness of a scone. Honestly way better places to get cookies in the area.

So excited they opened one in Bethesda! I've been waiting to try their cookies for a while down, and let me say, it did not disappoint! The cookies are warm, ooey gooey goodness! Every time I come in, the general manager Bri is always there with a smile on her face and is super friendly to interact with! The store is super clean! I definitely recommend coming here at least once a week to try their rotating menu every Friday! You'll never be disappointed leaving here!

Chip City cookies are SO SO SO DRY!!! They are so dry and have no flavor. It's a cute little store and the NYC ones have potential too but they need a master chef or baker to come in and completely redo and overhaul the recipes. Levain is highly superior. Get some moisture in those cookies!!

These are some dry hockey pucks! If you want some delicious cookies walk down Bethesda Row and get you some Levain! Levain never disappoints! We tried the smores, chocolate chip and confetti! And they were all disappointing!

The cookies are very good. The staff is awesome. They are always so nice and they always go out of their way to acknowledge my son which makes him more excited about the experience. The store is extremely clean and very cutely decorated. I like the texture of the cookies. The bottom is a little more baked which makes it easier to pick them up without them falling apart but the inside is always warm and soft. They are not overly sweet and have just the right amount of flavor. The cookies and cream is my favorite with just the right amount of Oreo type cookies running through a soft moist cookie.

If I could give them more stars I would!! The cookies had a crunch on the outside but was moist and chewy in the inside. I froze them and wet a paper towel and put them in the microwave to reheat. They were just as wonderful as the day I bought them. I did not have to add anything (salt) to balance the sugar. This is my Go-To cookie place when I travel to Maryland!!! The server was also sweet and very informative. The ambiance was fun and nostalgic. Very cool aesthetic.

Cookie butter cookie was okay. Cookies were warmed. Thick cookies, but in my opinion better than levain.

Best cookies I've ever had! The chocolate chip is perfect! Crunchy outside and chewy, gooey middle. I love that they have different flavors each week too. Staff are super friendly and welcoming.

Cookies are really good. Soft and chewy. Downfall Bethesda doesn't open until 1pm. 12pm Opening would be good especially on weekends.

Another HOME RUN by Chip City! I always enjoy these cookies in NYC so it was a real treat seeing them in Bethesda. Obsessed with their pb&j and cookie butter flavors. Don't miss out when added to their weekly rotation!

After eating cookies from Chip City, I became violently nauseous. The cookies came directly out of the oven and were very fresh, but they made me so sick. I have never felt worse after eating cookies. Crumbl is definitely the better option!

Very disappointed as they did not live up to the hype. They were over baked and the directions given to heat up were terrible. Definitely not as good as levain.
