Chipotle Mexican Grill

I usually never write reviews, but my experience at this Chipotle on December 3rd around 6:45 PM was so bad that I feel I have to share it. I’ve been to this location many times and the staff is normally friendly and welcoming, but this time it was completely the opposite. The server (a thin, fair-skinned male) was serving only 1/4 of a normal scoop of corn, tomatoes, and fajitas. Normally, Chipotle gives a full, decent scoop, so this was surprising. When I politely asked for extra corn and tomatoes, he gave me a very rude expression. When I asked again, he said, “I’m supposed to give only this much,” in a very disrespectful tone. That is not how customers should be spoken to. I also requested red hot sauce on the side, but he ignored me and started taking the next customer’s order. I had to remind the cashier myself. Even then, he threw the hot sauce toward the cashier while giving me a very unpleasant look. When I asked for one more extra hot sauce, he said something in another language— I couldn’t understand the words, but his attitude made the message very clear. I don’t mind paying extra for toppings or sides, but the way I was treated was unacceptable. On top of that, they mislabeled the bowls, switching the veggie bowl and chicken bowl, and the quantity in the bowl was nowhere near the usual Chipotle standard. This was honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had at any Chipotle. I hope management addresses this, because I would never want to experience this kind of treatment again. If there was an option to select 0 star i would have gone for that.

Chipotle never fails me, love the menu so much. I always order the chicken burrito, and it is worth the bucks u spend. To make it more delicious, I recommend u to add guacamole. I spent $12.84 (and the cashier didn't ask for tip), and ofc the portion was so big. My friend spent $16.96 for smoked brisket burrito. I believe this is an affordable meal since I couldn't find cheaper Mexican food around Boston.

Visited this Chipotle on October 6, 2024, and it was by far the worst Chipotle experience I’ve ever had. First of all, they didn’t have corn or cheese—two key ingredients for a bowl! How does that even happen at Chipotle? To make things worse, the employees were extremely rude and acted like they didn’t care at all. The soda machine had two drinks out of service, and the entire store was a mess. Dirty tables, floors, and counters—completely unacceptable and definitely not what you’d expect from Chipotle. This place is a disgrace to the brand, and I won’t be coming back. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

Been here many times (takeout), never had any problems. Barbacoa maybe a bit too salty and relatively expensive but everything else is good.

I was told that Chipotle has great standards for cross-contamination for those with gluten allergies. When I placed my order, I told the person assembling my bowl that I have a gluten allergy and need him to adjust preparation accordingly. He stared at me blankly. I instructed him to change gloves, and he was clearly annoyed with me and said nothing. Once he did change gloves, he assembled half of my bowl and then passed it on to someone else, who proceeded to touch the food with likely cross contaminated gloves. It was a demoralizing and upsetting experience, not to mention the fact that this standard is unsafe.

This has to be one of the worst Chipotle in the Mass. A year ago I ordered a fountain drink just to turn around & see an out of order sign on the machine, then they wouldn't refund me for the drink even though they knew it wasn't available before selling it. I go back for the first time in a year & the employee is giving the smallest servings of rice, pico, & corn I have ever seen. I had to ask for more scoops multiple times just to get a look like I was the asshole. Then I had to wait 5 minutes while the employee that was supposed to be at the register talked with a friend about personal stuff. Do not eat here, the food is bad, the employees are rude and stingy, and you're going to get half the amount of food as you should.

Staff said only half my payment went through so I needed to pay the balance, even though the receipt does not show any issues. So I tapped the card again, and the new receipt shows an unknown order I did not make, with said balance. What was even more confusing was that the guy confidently looked at both receipts and said the same thing to explain my second payment, which doesn't even make sense because the half payment issue was not reflected on the receipts. Fortunately I was dining in, and after the meal, both transactions reflected in my account in full, so I could show the staff and get a refund on the second receipt. The guy didn't apologize and another staff had to help out with the refund.

I was at this Chipotle, there was a hispanic woman very rude and agressive and angry, she didnt respond to the questions and when we wanted to change the drink, the normal coke with Zero coke, she aggresively beat the coke and throw the zero , she acted very rude! I wish I never went to chipotle and will never ever go again!

If you've gotten this far, you probably know what to expect from a Chipotle. The gleaming metal seats and floors, the disgruntled minimum wage employees, and the paranoia that your burrito will not come out just exactly the way you want. And yet! Nowhere can I find that perfect combination of rice and meat to end a long day. Yes guac is extra, but protip: bring your own avocado! If you come on a less busy time, odds are your portions will be larger. Your mileage may vary. Overall, I enjoy the food and can put up with the factory-feeling. The line has definitely shortened ever since the norovirus outbreak.

I meant to post this the other night but this was from 2 days ago maybe three but still I don't know I think this is a little bit nasty. I get that onions have a covering but still not on Central squares ground. I really hope that these are not onions they used in their food. I normally like this Chipotle a lot because given the whole portion size the debacle they never really were that bad. But this is just a little disgusting.

The cashier overcharged me with one beef burrito(no any extra charge sauce or anything). She told me scan the card first and input price. I only saw a 18 dollar or something and she asked the next person. She didn't give me receipt, I checked my credit card record and found out. Be careful, before you put your credit card or Apple Pay on their post machine, checked the price first and asked them receipt!

Literally the worse chipotle in all of Ma. Customer service is horrible and it's ran like a mom and pop shop. Theres not one time I go in there and there's no issue. Workers are rude and act like they don't want to be there. This place needs change of staff or get rid of it.

Generally, I give Chipotle the benefit of the doubt when I see mediocre reviews, since people are usually extra critical of fast food online. This spot is fine - the food's consistently fresh/good. The issues are more with how it's run. Every time I've gone, I've either been overcharged (like $18 total instead of $14.50 until I asked about it and they fixed it) or the card machine wasn't working so it was cash only. The staff will eat right off the line, like scooping chicken into a side box and taking it aside, or they're just hanging out in the back while a line of folks are waiting for mobile orders (Obviously folks have set breaks, but I doubt they'd schedule everyone to have a break at the same time) but the food itself is good!

bro gave me 1 scoop of rice and 2/3 chicken and had the audacity to look at the chicken and dump some out

The food is absolutely delicious, it's filling and it has wonderful taste. The meat is cooked just right with plenty of flavor, same thing with the rice. The service is really good with the people being really nice and helpful by giving me tips on how what I should get next to eat. The ambiance is nice and clean, good for a family dinner or just to eat by yourself. I would definitely recommend eating in this place.

Wow this Chipotle is... really bad. I visited bright and early and they were already out of everything. I asked for a napkin, and one of the employees dismissing says, "No napkins! We don't have any." Acting with complete disregard for the customer. Another customer complained that his to-go order was incorrect and they'd given tacos rather than a burrito. They told him there was nothing they could do about that.

Was across this place when I was looking for something to munch on. I originally went to an asian restaurant but they have big portions and I don't think I can finish the whole thing so I decided to walk to the next street and found this one. Went to look at the menu and it wasn't bad so I decided to order. I got the carnitas plate which has everything. It comes with rice, bean, salsa and some lettuce and Ofcourse the meat. It was a good portion but I wasn't able to finish the whole thing either. I sat at the restaurant for a few minutes to munch what I can eat and then I left. The place has a good size and it wasn't crowded when I got there. It wasn't busy too. There were like two people ahead of me since I took time to decide what I wanted to get but they are fast in giving the orders so didn't take too long before it was my turn again.

Their guacamole is great...$5 for a generous portion of fresh, healthful & delicious! The staff were excellent too, and Chipolte is reliable in all the best ways.

Food was luke warm, service was below average. First time I have been to a Chipotle that was out of lettuce, guacamole, steak. The place was dirty and lots of people just hanging out looking busy.

The drink machine was broken but was still dispensing water. When I filled up my water bottle with water the workers there were upset and told me it was expired.

food poisoning Had the steak bowl on Saturday night 4/9/22 around 8pm. The next day I woke up with chills and extreme weakness. I couldn't sit in my chair to study. I actually thought it was covid until I took a rapid test.

This place is strictly for quick emergency meals, IMO. Anna's Taqueria is cheaper and far tastier and (somewhat) more authentic, plus you get bigger portions. Next time I will hop on a Blue Bike and go down Mass Ave to the Anna's Taqueria inside the MIT Student Center, way way better there...hell even the 15 minute walk would be worth it. Even the Anna's Taqueria at Porter Square, just a 3 minute walk from the T station, is a better option. PROs: very simple bare-bones menu. Nice to have the option of brown rice, not just white rice. Dining area is sleek and modern, suggesting much better food than what you actually end up with. You can order online for pickup, which allows you the option of a couple of (very overpriced) menu options not available to walk-in customers. CONs: stingy little portions. No refried beans. No horchata or anything even slightly "Mexican." It's just dumbed-down, gringo-fied "Tex Mex" here, folks. Meat is very Whole-Foods-like: dry and bland, like the stuck-in-1970s-bogus-nutrition yuppies want it. Service is kind of half-assed, every time I've been in there it's always some high school aged kids who look bored, distracted and/or grumpy, and who act as if they're on some kind of social program/entitlement gig rather than working for an actual service industry business. Makes me wonder: why is there no manager around who can put his/her foot up their asses as they richly deserve? In a nutshell: this place is for EMERGENCIES only, folks.

Ordered as part of a group, they messed up our order so bad and I ended up eating a sofritas bowl when I had ordered a barbacoa bowl. The sofritas were not appetizing at all and the guacamole was not fresh and rather gross. Ended up dumping over half my dinner. Never ordering from here for group catering again.

My coworker told me he got sick after eating there but my boyfriend and I went to Eat there anyway as we have many times . I took three bites and I had a severe allergic reaction was Sent home from work and was hospitalized. My boyfriend felt nauseated and had a bad stomach ache . I also paid 51 dollars for four burritos and a bag of chips . I can get a three course sit down dinner are chili's for 21 dollars . They charged me over ten dollars for Guacamole! Then the girl tried to charge me again for queso I said no I had payed plenty enough ! She gave me attitude . I will never ever go to chipotle again and I will make sure to give this advise to friends and family . I have the district managers card and I will be calling him tomorrow I want my money back.

This place ass I'm neva coming here again. They gave me a tortilla and barley and cheese and ran out of queso. The chips weren't even cooked. Fuck you im never coming again. O

flies all over the soda machine with a sign that said soda shortage, old a** food with black guac and stale chips you could break your tooth on salsa was tasteless the beans tasted old and cold, corn was hard, the lettuce was black, tortillas tasted like a sweaty steam room residue old and hard, terrible even the Mexican cola I ordered tasted strange. The employees were rude and didn't accomodate my taste but were eating burritos right before they opened, horrible terrifying experience never had a worse experience at a restaurant.

The napkins here are free and super absorbent, I would even compare them to Kleenex tissues. Also they are brown so I think that means they are eco-friendly? I use a lot of napkins so now I feel less guilty since they are sustainable. The decorations are cool too. This is a Mexican restaurant so that explains the wooden Mayan figures on the wall. The interior looks very industrial I guess because of all the steel and wood, kind of like I'm in some future cafeteria. Whatever it is, I hope all mexican restaurants look like this in the future, which I guess is practically the case now that chipotle is everywhere. Enough about all that, let's talk about the food. This place is cool because you can put lettuce in your burrito, which I didn't think I would like. I used to live in Los Angeles and they never put lettuce on any of the tacos or burritos but it definitely adds a nice touch. Now I put lettuce on everything! And the meat options are amazing because there are so many options like "carnitas" and "carne asada" (I'm not sure if I pronounce it correctly but they never say anything lol). I took a spanish class in high school and I'm pretty sure it means something meat. Anyway, enough of language class, by the time you put all the toppings you want like pico de gallo (also not sure if pronouncing right lol) and crema, you've got yourself a big bowl of yumminess. You can judge me, but I actually like to say that I'm ordering to go so that put a lid, which I use to cover the bowl and shake the dickens out of it. When you open the lid, everything will have mixed perfectly and have become a great big mush. I know it sounds gross but it's amazing, like adult baby food. You just gotta do it, and don't forget to pick up some extra napkins!

Insanely small portion sizes, but the quality of the food is there. Every time I've been here, all of the tables have been pretty dirty and unmaintained.

The best Chipotle location Always positive attitudes and always give huge portions. Definitely makes me wish the one is Quincy was this good -- I would go all the time!

This Chipotle is hit or miss--today it was a miss. The amount of rice, beans, and chicken was weak compared to the heap of sour cream and salsa. Gotta get the ratios right. I'm a little upset I used my free meal from the rewards program on that. Boo! Note: when their top employees are in, this Chipotle rocks.

Seemed like it was everyone's first day at work or they want to get out of there more than anything; also, my tacos had so little meat in them I'm currently eating some chicken curry across the street at H-Mart. I didn't get any beans or rice, so on top of the paltry serving of meat, there was more tortilla than fillings. Still tasted good though, but that's the result of standardized company-wide recipes.

Smh where do I begin ! I went to this location yesterday 12-9-2018 @ 8pm i ordered a chicken burrito and a chicken rice bowl the guy charged me $26 YES $26!! I questioned it and asked for my receipt he proceeded to say that's the price and chicken is more and that for some reason the machine didn't print my receipt?! I was trying to explain i get the same exact thimg at another location and its only $17 ish dollars he ignored me and gave me nothing but attitude, not professional at all ! So I leave annoyed and get home to see that they didn't even make my food right they forgot sour cream and pico on the burrito and the bowl. So basically $26 down the drain. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

I usually think of Chipotle as the Mexican version of McDonald's, i.e. a garbage festival. Lately, however, I have changed my tune. This probably has something to do with my mildly abnormal obsession with black beans and cheese. Yup, these duders have both. And they will put it in a bowl for you. And it will cost under $3. Oh hello, perfect lunch. Sorry co-workers. I will be farting all afternoon.

Normally solid but on my last order of 2 Barbacoa Burritos I placed with the app for pick up 1 had only a tiny bit of meat in it and the other had NONE! I didn't realize until I was already home, I placed a complaint through the app and was never contacted, just received a coupon for chips and guac which doesn't even cover the cost of one of the burritos... Bad customer service from corporate...

"The happiest Chipotle?" "Friendly staff?" I'm sorry to inform my fellow yelpers that this is no longer the case. This is probably the unhappiest Chipotle I've ever been to. I got my usual burrito bowl - awesome as usual. Customer service? Not so much. The staff who made my bowl barely made any eye contact with me, let alone flashing a smile. I had to repeat "a burrito bowl not a burrito" three times for them to get it right. They looked so miserable working there... The cashier was only one who acknowledged me as a person and made me feel welcomed. Good thing I got a bowl though, because when the staff were wrapping the burritos for the customers in front of as well as behind me, the tortilla ripped and the burritos EXPLODED. This goes to show two things: 1) they don't skimp on ingredients 2) they lack the competency to properly roll a burrito. I am still giving 3 stars because of the food itself. It's still a good place to get your burrito fix. I would just recommend you getting a bowl and keep yourself entertained, because no one else will.

This is the happiest Chipotle I've ever been to. Seriously, it was almost eerie how nice all five employees I encountered were. But those smiles seemed genuine and they rolled a mean burrito. This is quite the accomplishment judging by the locations downtown. The store itself was clean and everything was well stocked. Hopefully they can keep it that way, it is Central Square after all. Well played on the opening Chipotle, well played.

Let me start by saying I love Chipotle. I believe all Chipotles should be 4 stars. This particular location suffers from quality control and more importantly, the staff demonstrates very poor hospitality skills. To be short, they're rude and show little respect for the establishment. Having dined here several times (usually in the evenings), I know it's not a one day occurs. Between staff slamming pans when a guest walks in 10 minutes before closing, the constant yelling between BoH employees or the really rude tall Hispanic cook that never smiles - there's always something that annoys me during my visits.

All chipotles are the same? False. I have eaten at dozens of chipotles and the guys in central are in a league of their own. The place is always clean, the employees are friendly, and most importantly, they pile on the ingredients like nobody's business.

I can think of no word to describe this place better than, "meh". You walk in, and it looks like a cafeteria, awkward seating near the line for the register or along long shared metal tables, and construction is still on-going. The music ranges from your typical Mexican restaurant fare, to jazz, to H&M-like beats. The employees really are very happy, which is strange but nice. The food is also reminiscent of a cafeteria. Nothing is too spicy, or too flavorful, for that matter. The carnitas is nothing special. They layer on the guacamole and sour cream to the point that it really starts detracting from the overall taste. It is also WAY overpriced. Over $9 for 3 soft shell tacos w/guacamole (and nothing to drink)?? It was over $11 for the burrito! I can buy all the ingredients myself and make food for a week for less than the cost of those 3 mediocre tacos. On the on-going burrito tour, sadly Chipotle is near the bottom of the barrel.

One of the staff members asked me if I was eating for two... Not only is that presumptuous but could be very harmful to a person's self-esteem. I personally do not intend to return to this location.

I agree with many other previous reviewers. We all know the food you get at Chipotle; it is all about the service and the store that make the experience. This place has a generic feel. It usually is clean, but nothing really special about it. I've been to other Chipotles, and they usually make me want to stay and eat in store. This place does not. The employees are usually engaging and talkative. I do enjoy talking to them every time I stop by. Do they roll the best burrito? I don't believe so. Plenty of times the tortilla is breaking apart as they pack my burrito for a to go meal. The food is what it is. Everything else? Not real special. I wouldn't choose this Chipotle over any other ones in the area. I usually go here out of convenience more than desire.

I like chipotle，but i hate here the service.cashier was so mean，no smile when I buy a bowl they don't care about you and so mean ask to you what you want! when I want to get my receipt back，Gold hair cashier like the shit so mad to give back my receipt，i'm customer .i'm really want to complain about they 2 cashiers at this store(customer service)but I can't find it!one is speak Spanish gold hair one is blonde hair! Even i work next store I Never want go again!

The quality here is consistent with other Chipotle places in Cambridge and Boston (which I find pretty high, given the horrific quality of most Tex-Mex type fast food around here). What makes it 4-stars is the quality of the service. The staff behind the counter are friendly and good at their jobs. Also, this place is neat and clean, at least during the off-peak hours. Which is nice, given that a lot of fast-food places tend to get rather filthy in the Central Square area. This place is ridiculously crowded during lunch. So, I'd recommend picking up food early and not trying to wait in line during lunch hours.

Honestly, some of the rudest people work at this location. Ordering anything makes me feel guilty because everyone seems so annoyed at having to serve you. Upon paying for my order, I asked for a fountain drink which I was charged and paid for. As soon as the cashier returned my card to me, she walked away without saying a word. Having not received the cup for a drink, I remained at the register and completely ignored by the multiple staff members. When the cashier finally returned, I politely asked for the cup (which again, I had paid for with my meal). Her look of utter annoyance when she handed me a small cup put me off from asking for the larger size which I paid for. If management reads these reviews, I would strongly suggest retraining the staff to be more friendly when assisting customers, or at the very least, tell them to look less annoyed while doing it. Definitely not going back.

The worst place ever, extremely bad customer service. don't come here. i had an emergency , need to cancel the order so i call them right the way but they can't do anything for you. Ask me to call customer service no one pick up the phone. Ask me to leave the message never return my call. Talk to manager, he cancel the wrong order from another customer but can't cancel my order. What a place!!!!!!!!!

Omg I found a huge LEAF in my food. Like from outside? It doesn't make sense. Im disturbed. Don't go here.

Hello, My name is Royry Walker and I just had to take a moment to give praise to your team at the central square area. Every time I enter the store I'm greeted with a smile and great personalities. They even know my order by hard now and that impressed me. I've been so impressed by this location I've recommended this location to many of my clients and customers who visit Boston. These names I'm about to list are the group who always goes beyond their job titles. Nadhira,Kokayi,Brenda,Maegen and Aida. I'm so impressed that I've even thought about having them on my team with my company. But that would be selfish of me. Keep up the amazing work and the family friendly environment. I usually love coming here but this trip was kind of a waste of time and money. Depending on who is slinging behind the counter really makes a difference. Ordered my usual burrito chicken bowl. And the amount of rice and chicken went in was below than normal, I felt that if I asked for extra it wouldn't even matter and would only cost more money for me. Either I got a guy who didn't care or corporate changed what a normal amount is.

Every time I come to this location they never have anything fresh guacamole is black and the employee don't give a shit and don't help. And another thing why is it when I ask for a bowl they add a lil bit of rice and add a lot of extra shut ugh

Worst chipotle service ever. They unevenly distribute ingredients, don't listen and put the wrong things in, they forget what they JUST put in, they have ingredients in other things - cheese in the salsa (what if someone wants that salsa and is lactose intolerant??) It's messy, the staff isn't friendly or seem to know what they're doing. I hate that this is the chipotle I live closest to because the service is terrible.

Pretty much the most sub par Chipotle out there. They are always out of food, or it looks like it has been sitting out for ten hours. Most of the time the employees barely give you any food in your bowl/burrito, I always have to ask for extra. Some days only one employee is working the food line while you see other employees just standing around. Typically a bad experience due to the poor customer service.

I was a very regular customer for some time. I was hooked on the salad bowl. That was until this last Sunday when I ordered a salad bowl with chicken and got one with extra hair. One hair I can reluctantly accept. But I draw the line at 6, foot long black hairs. There may have been more, I suspect there was but I wasn't taking chances. Honestly, are they running a clandestine barbershop in the kitchen?

Stopped in here last month to get a burrito during the lunch rush. I was in line to place my order and noticed... water dripping from the ceiling onto the food assembly area behind the sneeze guard glass - right in between the white cutting board material and the food bins. There was a tray with a paper liner placed there to catch the water, but it was not remotely catching all the water. And who knows what that water was?! The staff there did not even seem to think anything was amiss. I called the city's health department to inspect and hope they helped Chipotle correct the situation, but I'm reluctant to return, given the poor level of care I saw with this situation.

I love this Chipotle. I wouldn't call myself a regular, but I have graced the doors a few times. The food at this Chipotle is much like the food at other Chipotle--delicious as hell. it's not quite the authentic Mexican experience, but quite possibly the best fast food Mexican place out there. Everything tastes fresh and is super flavorful. The best part of this place is the friendly staff. Employees are always smiling and are damn good at what they do. I look to Chipotle when I need something tasty right away. The employees don't mess around and quickly get me in and out. One caution though: sometimes they can skimp on some ingredients. If this happens, just ask for more and they'll happily oblige.

The food I got today was surprisingly worse than I've gotten at other Chipotle locations. The rice in my burrito was undercooked and a bit crunchy, and I had to spit out a small chicken bone. I greatly prefer Boloco for burritos, but the nearest one is in Harvard Square. It's just easier to order at Boloco - every time I'm at Chipotle they ask me a ton of questions I'm unprepared to answer, and usually they have to repeat themselves because I didn't hear them properly. Boloco has just two or three choices for any given item, and they're clearly explained on the overhead menu. Plus, I never had a bad meal there and they have smoothies.

This is not a comment on the Central Square location but a generalization based on visits to many Chipotles in multiple states. Chipotle employees are hands-down the worst burrito rollers I have ever encountered, which never fails to astonish me because that is their main menu item. Consistently, they overfill the tortillas, then sort of fold the tortilla in half vertically to position all the fillings in the very center and THEN start rolling it up the the traditional way. This leaves you with a burrito that is more round than oblong, like a little beach ball stuffed to overflowing. And that's if the tortilla doesn't break under all that stress. This seems to be a company-wide technique, I can't imagine any other reason why every Chipotle I've been to does it the same terrible way. If anyone from Chipotle headquarters happens to be reading, please learn from other Boston tex-mex burrito joints- many do a great job- Boca Grande, El Pelon, Anna's, Felipe's and the late, great Picante's in Central Square.
