Chipotle has opened its first downtown Detroit location | Eater Detroit

"A downtown fast-casual Mexican chain known for its iconic, gigantic Mission-style burritos now operates at 630 Woodward Avenue Suite 360, just south of the Shake Shack. Every time I come here portions get smaller and smaller. They make excuses for saying it's going to be extra. You give me half ass scoops of meat and double portions of rice and beans and a whole cup of sour cream and I'm left with nothing but that. Protein doesn't exist here. I have two half proteins and still couldn't even get a full bowl. Everytime I come here or I go and order on DoorDash same thing. You would have thought I ate half of this. This is the damn bowl.

I just had the worst experience ever at this disgusting filthy chipotle. The employees are rude and need to be trained on good customer service to have returning customers!! I will never be back here I swear to god. Fire the management and retrain the staff

I'm very disappointed I spent $19 on my DoorDash order I was very hesitant at first to order chipotle on door dash due to what I be hearing about it I don't understand how I ordered a bowl with white rice , black beans , corn salsa , medium green salsa and sour cream and cheese and I get 3 tacos that taste like it's been sitting out all day I had no choice but to eat it because I'm at work with nothing to eat this is ridiculous I've worked in food before there is no way you guys should be unprofessional and inconsiderate i would've been ok on waiting if you guys were out of stuff it just shows pure laziness and lack of consideration never returning to this location again please do better .

The experience wasn't as bad considering all the reviews I've read. The food did take a while, simple task seemed to take a bit longer than "usual". I think we were in the building for about 35/40 minutes to order 2 burritos on take out with about 3 people in front of us. They were training alot of new employees so with that grace it would be like a 3.5 star experience though it mightve actually been closer to a 2.5

The counter staff were excellent! Fast. Customer service oriented. The back of the house? The guys on the hot line? Just one speed. Running out of everything? No veggies. No chicken. Either there’s bad training or bad management of the lunch rush. It happens every day. How come there are so many empty 1/3 size pans? Came back 5 months later, STILL the kitchen doesn’t seem to keep up, and seems uncaring of the long line of patrons waiting for lettuce or meat(s) or other hotline items. And STILL no management response to these failures. But WORSE? What’s one thing you can be sure of with Mexican chips? That they don’t bend! But our side order of chips was full of a blend, of fresh chips, old chips and way way stale chips that were BENDY! You don’t understand the concept of “fresh” if your chips are rubbery!

I stopped in today and had an unexpectedly great experience—mostly thanks to this light-skinned, curly-headed kid at the front. I think his name was David? Either way, he was absolutely hilarious and really brightened my day. You can tell he’s got great energy even if he might be going through something—he still showed up and made people smile. This guy definitely deserves a raise, a promotion, or at least a bigger cut of the tips. And give him more hours! If he’s here more often, I’ll definitely be back more often too. People like him make a big difference.

Traditionally, I have a bad experience when I come to this location, which is unfortunately my home location. Tonight, however I will give it a five star review thanks to the young man working behind the carryout counter. He noticed I had been sitting there for a few minutes and checked on the name of my order and made sure to bag it up nicely and that everything was included. Also the ladies who I believe were making the carry out order made mine perfectly. I’m so happy thanks to the team working tonight, thank you.

This Chipotle isn't the worst I've been to, but it could be cleaner. Most of the time I visit, they are out of the items I plan to order, but I’ll attribute that to them being very busy, so I can’t judge them too harshly. I usually avoid this location, but I ordered through the app. It only takes me about three minutes to walk in and grab my food, yet I always end up with a parking ticket for being gone those three minutes.

An okay experience today. Chipotle was one of the few places open on this Sunday evening that was quick and easy. I ordered on the Chipotle app while sitting outside in the comfy chairs at the Esplanade on Woodward Avenue. The restaurant was clean with no dirty tables. My food was not out on the display when I arrived, but it was ready. I'm guessing they have a problem with people taking the wrong orders because I gave my name and the gal handed me the bag. The condiments section was stocked and tidy. Back at the hotel room and digging in, they had put all the right stuff on there. Guacamole, sour cream, cheese, fajita veggies and the most over cooked chicken I've had in some time. Dry and chewy and disappointing. A definite bummer. I've never been talked to so rudely over something as simple as a bathroom code. I was waiting on a mobile order and asked the employee for the code, and he hit me with, "You have to buy something first." Mind you, I was literally waiting on food that had already been paid for! I explained that, and he still doubled down with attitude like I was trying to scam a burrito out of him. The tone? Uncalled for. The customer service? Nonexistent. If this is how y'all treat people picking up orders, I'd hate to see how you treat dine-in guests. I'm not asking for red carpet.. just basic respect. Do better.

Dirty Store. When you have to clean your own table, you deserve an employee discount. If we weren't starving and had to drive to Chicago, we wouldn't have eaten here. This place is unacceptable. The health department should cite them for filthiness.

Great Chipotle located downtown on Woodward - their new honey Chipotle chicken is like crack cocaine bruh, very good and addicting. Also forgot this about Chipotle and not sure if it's just this location or at all of them, but they have very good fresh juices like lemonade, mandarin and berry aqua frescas, and watermelon limeade. Service very attentive (especially in line) and quick. Relatively spacious interior dining environs with plenty of tables and chairs as well. Check it out!

This is a catering review, and it was excellent. Not skimpy on the portions, especially of the guac, and everything was freshly prepared and arrived hot. I'm so glad they're downtown. I love getting Chipotle catering because you get all the meats and all the salsas you want - it's perfect for a crowd with different tastes. You get fresh chips, tortillas and hard shells and all the fixins. Perfect for a company lunch.

I have never seen a Chipotle this slow or dirty on the line and out of so many items 4 hours before closing. They were out of steak, guacamole and chicken al pastor. Prep line was pretty dirty and only one guy making food with at least 4 others in the area that might have been able to jump in to help in one way or another. It is a decent sized store and plenty of room for a long line not to affect seating.

*I recognize this location is extremely busy at lunch,l. However, it has been this way since it opened and should be staffed more than well enough by now to resolve this issue.* If you order online, be prepared to wait. When you get to the pickup window, the staff will ignore you until they decide to grace you with their attention. Further, don't expect to receive everything you ordered. Majority of the time they're out of almost everything and they'll fight you over receiving a refund. Honestly, corporate needs to intervene in this location and either re-hire or re-train this locations staff.

This place needs more and better trained staff. Pick up orders are often not ready until nearly 45 minutes after the expected time and today they put the wrong order in my bag. The sticker still had my name on it though so I recommend checking your order before leaving. I decided to give them another chance since maybe they have new employees (and I was hungry). They made my order incorrectly again. This time I checked before leaving and they forgot guacamole, beans, vegetables and gave me the wrong kind of rice. They remade it and still gave me the wrong type of rice. Please train your employees better or develop a more effective means of making customer order during the busy period. Repeated mistakes and significant delays should not happen if a business wishes to stay open.

order a bowl online, was the most pathetic chipotle order I've ever received in my life. it was a quarter full with 80% sour cream. waste of sperm at this establisment. I could raise a dog to make me a better one.

The customer service was terrible and the cranky worker told me there was no white rice left and soon came back and gave white rice to the next customer. Overall a poorly run restaurant.

With just 30 minutes for a lunch break, I want something quick. This place offers orders ahead of time which is good, and I typically set my pickup 10-20 minutes ahead. Even with this, I end up waiting 15-20 minutes in store... Then, when I get back to my desk, I am ultimately let down because the portions are always lacking compared to locations outside of the city! My bowl looked like someone had already started eating it. This place needs a quick training or more staff to help keep up with the lunch rush, I am sad because I love the food from this franchise.

I travel quite a bit and eat at Chipotle often. This has to be one of the worst locations. No rice at all (but same price). i ordered a side of chips, there was 12 in the bag and they were as hard as leather. Kitchen was filthy with food all over it. I should have left, but paid. I got back to my room and took one bite and through the rest out. Disgusting to say the least
