Chipotle Mexican Grill

Terrible. I would give 0 stars if I could. Usually not this bad. But this time the rice is 90% raw. Inedible. Very interestingly, before I came, I told my friend who was walking with me that I was getting some inedible stuff (not even food) at chipotle. Unfortunately i predicted 100% right this time.

if I could give this location no stars, i would. there were bugs in my lettuce and there was beef in the VEGAN sofritas. i am so disappointed because i love chipotle and this is only location close to me. this was completely disgusting.

The woman who helped our order was extremely disrespectful. We hadn't even finished the order but she closed the lids on the bowls. When I asked for lettuce and cheese, she said they were already wrapped so couldn't be opened, and they were only available as sides. I've never heard of such policy ever. She even slammed the sides onto the lid hard with anger. We ended up not taking the foods. What a truly awful experience.

Get control of the workers. What a disaster. Employees eating food out of the containers with bare hands that they serve customers with, throwing paper towels balls at the employee securing transactions for payment, taking sticky tags and trying to “wax” the hair off other employees arms while they are serving customers. Not to mention the inappropriate hispanic music blaring so no one can hear the order. This place is disgusting. What a joke of a public place serving food to the public. Also get some forks.

staffs seemed to lack of awareness on hygiene issues. The counter for preparing food was absolutely dirty and the staff just use his hand (still wearing gloves) to brush the foods off the counter. Then the staff didn’t change the gloves but continued preparing the burritos next which the staff touched the food directly. I am very disappointed.

the women who checked me out was extremely rude. i came in for the chimichurri , and she looked at me and told me the didnt have it when she was holding 2. the women in front of me AND behind me both recived it. i wasnt rude to her at all and she barley interacted with me. she was just lazy and did not want to portion it out. whats the point of having a new item if not to sell it? i had to go back and then she charged me separately, having me pay twice. just rude for no reason

The rice tastes pretty raw and sticks together. This is literally the worst rice I ever had. Otherwise the steak would have been good.

The service here just completely got my food wrong. I asked for brown rice and even though the employee repeated brown rice still gave me the wrong one. Then I asked for lettuce and the employee asked if I said cheese. I said no and then they proceeded to put cheese on it anyways. I ended up throwing away my food halfway through since it had two toppings I didn’t ask for. Just disappointed with the service.

I placed a catering order for an event I was organizing and had quite the experience. Got the top level "Build Your Own: Triple" with Chicken, Steak, Sofritas and all the bases and toppings. Quality was top notch as usual. A TON of greens sent (actually ended up having extras since it 2 of the 6 boxes were used). They also sent lettuce as well as the super greens mix from the lifestyle bowl (with the Baby Kale). Everyone loved the meat Guac just disappeared, haha. Only complaint was that the order was supposed to include fajita peppers, black beans, pinto beans, and shredded cheese... but none of these were included! Maybe they sent extra greens in place of those? Idk None of the attendees complained, but this did limit the options for vegetarians, so I reported the issue as feedback on the Chipotle website. Got helped immediately! Someone responded via email and I followed up and they resolved the issue within an hour total! They provided a small refund and even offered me a free dinner for 2 as a reward on my account. Such an amazing team!

I like grabbing Chipotle for a quick, hot meal. I visited this location on a Monday evening. The location was nice, right on State Street in a shopping district with a nice view of the capitol building. It was really crowded and the line was long. However, the staff were friendly. My food was still served hot and the chips were crispy. Unfortunately, every free table in the seating area was dirty. There was a mound of ice in the soda fountain, probably because the Diet Coke fountain was out (running clear, without syrup) so people were probably having to dump out their Diet Cokes. There were napkins and cutlery, but that area was kind of a mess. Worst though, the white rice wasn't cooked - it was still crunchy. The crunchy uncooked rice really made my brisket bowl a disappointment.

This is the nastiest chipotle I've been t, the kitchen dining area were filthy. The bathrooms both men and women were atrocious please do better

Very sad cause I've been to this location once before and it was great! This time not so much. First off, half of the place is closed with plastic because they're redoing the floors. Fine but it was SUPER loud and not an environment I wanna eat in. This work should be done when they're closed and don't have customers in the store. And two, I ordered a chicken bowl with brown rice and THE RICE WAS HARD!!!! I don't know who cooked it but it was VERY undercooked. That or they refilled the same container over and over and the old rice mixed in. Gross!! Some pieces were so hard that I could have broken a tooth so I tried to chew slowly so that wouldn't happen. Very disappointed with this visit.

This location is depressing and an embarrassment to the entire Chipotle brand. Their portion sizes and quality control are so poor I don't think they could stay in business except for that this location has a lot of foot traffic from the college students. Every time I attempt to contact Chipotle corporate regarding the poor quality of this location they apologize and try to send me a buy one get one. I've explained the error in their customer service ways, nobody that is unhappy with the service of a location wants to go back there and spend more money. Maybe they figure if I get two of their quarter sized poorly filled burritos it will almost be like getting a normal sized burrito. No thanks Chipotle. You're no good, no good, no good baby you're no good.

They didnt give my delivery driver the right order they didn't even get my name right on the order gave me a tortilla and a burrito bowl when I asked for Two burrito bowls chips and queso and two drinks with is 60 dollars

This place has the worst chipotle service! Every time my partner or I order online for pick up, they can never make bowls correctly and I have to comeback and ask them to remake it which is ridiculous. Would not recommend.

A little confused why there is 6+ people working here but only one person is helping customers. This location moves at a glacial pace later in the evening.

Came in on a busy saturday at 7pm and had the worst experience ever. The person wrapping my burrito genuinely had no idea what he was doing and my burrito wasn't even closed when I opened the foil. It fell apart all over the table when I tried to pick it up. The portions were so inconsistent. You couldn't get chips unless you online ordered, even though I was right there in front of them. The staff was friendly but terrible at their jobs. Management seriously needs to be replaced by people who can run a business. Wouldn't recommend to anyone under any reason. Would rate 0 stars if i could.

this is probably the WORST chipotle i have ever been to. i get just a plain cheese quesadilla and somehow it tends to get messed up almost every time, and the workers are not helpful when the order is messed up, and get mad. i would not reccomend this chipotle.

I like chipotle like any other person but this location has just never been good. As a student living in Madison, chipotle is a great option for a meal, but after trying this location multiple times, I won't be back. The workers aren't friendly, the food just doesn't taste good, not like chipotle. I'm not picky but one time the chicken was burnt and tasted so bad I had to throw away my entire bowl. Another time, the fajita veggies, which are always mild, were so incredibly spicy I couldn't eat that bowl either. To top it off, they're always out of something. If you're craving chipotle, unfortunately you're going to want to avoid this location.

Normally, I LOVE chipotle. Some would say I'm a finanic. However, there's just something off about the state street chipotle in Madison. The portions are always VERY small, and there's always out of something. Whether or not it's chicken, or guacamole, I NEVER get the perfect bowl here, and it breaks my heart. And I always feel hella rushed. This isn't representative of how chipotle normally is. Ambience is vibes though. Also chipotle should start carrying chalula. That's the best hot sauce, no one likes tobasco.

Serving size is ridiculously small. I've never seen such a small amount of rice. So little rice I could see half the bottom of the bowl. Got double steak and could count about 10 pieces. Wasn't like they were out of anything either, everything was freshly stocked. However I got plenty of cheese so if you looking for a 1:1 ratio of cheese to everything else this is the place.

Got like maybe 1/4th of a scoop of chicken on my bowl. Asked for double chicken and they skimped out on that too. My bowl weighs but a feather. #disappointed

bad service. lost my order and were very rude about it. At 10:15pm, they said they were running behind on orders when I asked about my order with estimated pickup time at 9:30, when they were putting out orders that say "promised: 10:20." Refused to listen to me or check for me when I offered to tell them my order number and just ignored me after that. A few minutes later an old white man asked them and they checked if his order was in and told him.

Consistency is non existent at this location. Chipotle should taste and look like Chipotle. Yet, it's a fifty fifty chance that that will be true. Portions are inconsistent and sometimes laughably small. Sometimes you will walk in and they will be only doing mobile orders. Leading to a much longer wait. Every time you are ready to give up on this location, they provide a good meal. You forget your recent subpar experiences and are a fan again. So yes, the last time I went to this Chipotle it was good. I just hope I can get back to back great experiences for once. Tread with caution here...

The food is very good. The ingredients are fresh and the quality is good. The staff was helpful and courteous. It's a little expensive but worth it.

I've been to this Chipotle location many times during my four years in Madison, but until last night I hadn't ordered from here in over a year due to repeated bad experiences. I completely understand that this location gets bombarded with students, as it's the only Chipotle within walking distance to campus, and is often understaffed, so it's kind of a "you get what you expect" sort of situation. I stopped making frequent orders from this restaurant after being served very small portions on several occasions, but last night this was not an issue at all. In fact, my chicken burrito bowl was packed to the brim last night, mostly due a huge serving of white rice. Although I can't complain about the quantity they served me, I do wish that there would've been a better ratio of toppings. As I said, my bowl was like 60% rice and there wasn't enough salsa or other toppings to balance it out and give it flavor, so it was pretty bland. The service at this restaurant also isn't the best, but you don't exactly go to Chipotle for the service. If you have a car I would drive to the next nearest Chipotle to get your next fix, but if not, this location will do.

My wife and I just ate a Chipotle Veggie Burrito . Byfar the best veggie burrito I've had from Chipotle. Habanero is still my favorite place in Madison for a veggie burrito. Love the monster pickled Jalapeno peppers. However, Chipotle out did themselves with the veggie mix for their burritos. Will definitely enjoy another veggie burrito from Chipotle.

I tried to log in to the app to take advantage of the booorito coupon, and I cant log in. Not pleased chipotle. Not cool.

I ordered from here. There was a large piece of avocado shell in my bowl. There was multiple large lives of lettuce(I didn't order lettuce), large chunks of random peppers(I didn't order peppers), undercooked rice, and a piece of extremely tough chicken that was most definitely not cooked correctly. It was a mission to eat this bowl and whoever made it should not be working there. I am not sure if I even want to order from this chipotle anymore after this one.

Genuinely the worst chipotle ive ever been too on both service and quality. The food is over or under cooked. The service is horrible. These people should be imprisoned

Placed an order on the Chipotle app at 11:09. Est. delivery11:45. It is 1:00 pm and they are now saying it will be delivered by 1:30 and that the driver is waiting at the store. According to the app the driver has been waiting for over 45 mins. I tried calling and you get an automated answering machine that then transferred me to the store and they never picked up. Guess I'll be using QDoba as the new go to. Thuis is the second time they've done this.

I've seen lemonade stands run with more integrity. They legit just don't have 1/3 of the ingredients at all times. The portions make zero sense, and if u try and ask for more the employees are extra rude. I miss my Seattle chipotle's more than anything. This place is mismanaged and needs to metamorphose into a Pacos Tacos.

Upon sitting down and pontificating about how many stars to give this chipotle, I could not decide on giving it five or one stars. Alas, here we are, giving chipotle a five star review. However this is not to overlook this chipotles issues. This is the worst chipotle ever. The chips are stale 50% of the time- probably more actually. The chicken is either bland and tasteless or sets ur mouth on fire with too much seasoning. The salsa is always too spicy, and they either give u too much guac or not enough. Not to mention there is a certain worker who works at a speed of 1 scoop of rice per hour and single handedly causes the line the wrap around the building. Not to mention the tables are always disgusting and mobile orders are always behind. Not to mention the heating needs to get under control. Also why are the bathrooms permanently closed- what public event is every day that is causing them to always be closed? Yet everyday I make the trek from my dorm to this establishment and eat chipotle. Because, while it is the worst experience ever, and oftentimes the worst meal, you can't have any reward without some risk. And on the occasion that the chips aren't stale, the guac to rice ratio is just right, the salsa is not too spicy, and the line isn't piled to the door, the experience is euphoric. This chipotle is like a toxic relationship where you always find reasons to leave but there's always the one reason to stay. Overall, five stars.

Just a bad Chipotle, nothing more nothing less. I miss my regular one in Chicago every time I walk past it. The portions are never right, there are always five pieces of meat, and don't bother ordering for pickup -- every SINGLE time I've done so, my order has been wrong. It's either not enough of something or too much of another. Today it was the smallest amount of rice and most amount of sour cream I've gotten. Asked for guac on the side, they put it right on top. Go somewhere else. Maybe Qdoba, and I don't even like Qdoba.

Hey I absolutely was loving the CHORIZO meat selection. I became a regular two times a week for it. Now it's gone. Please bring it back. The tofu is okayish but chorizo was soooo good! Cravinggggggg ittttt, wannnnt ittttt.

They cant handle any kind of rush so they went online only during the busiest hours of the day. They don't ever remove the trash at the end of the night you are walking over used bowls cups and food to leave. Food quality is worse than any other chipotle I have ever been too, it is disgraceful that they tarnish chipotles name like this.

This is the slowest service I could ever possibly imagine at a chipotle. Do not come here unless you plan on waiting 20 minutes in a line of 5 people.

This is the worst chipotle location I have ever been to. To start off, the workers are always in a terrible mood, just constantly mumbling and looking annoyed. The next issue is the fact that they often will be doing online orders only. After walking to the store, you will have to go on the chipotle app and order that way, which will take far longer than the time it shows on the app. When the in-person line is open, they only take card, i guess cash isnt good enough for them. The last and probably most annoying thing is that they will tell you they don't have chips when they clearly have a bunch of bags left. They will tell you those chips are "for online order only." I'm here in person, just sell me chips. All in all, highly recommend chipotle gets there shit together here or I'm just gonna start going to Quadoba.

Worst chipotle ever. I'm tired of getting my hopes up and trying one more time because it's always a complete waste of money. Rice is undercooked. Forgot my queso. Forgot CHEESE. The total size of the burrito was smaller than my hand. 4 pieces of meat. I'm never going to chipotle again like this was my final straw and I better get a refund

They literally try to make awful food. Chicken taco with extra cheese, extra lettuce and extra fajita veggies came with a piece of chicken and two shreds of lettuce. It's like entertainment to them to see who can make the worst food and not get fired. Awful place.

This is the worst chipotle in the history of chipotles. Only reason I give it 2 stars is bc it's still a chipotle and the most popular place on campus to get food. So they're always busy. But it sucks. Inconsistent , weak portions, lines forever, constantly online order only (40 mins behind when that happens), run out of ingredients. It's a hit 25% of the time. Misses 75%

They gave me the smallest portion size of carne a Sada the meat looked old and not tasty they over charged us we both got sick .

I got 5 burritos to go for me and my co workers last night. All of the burritos had rice that was horribly under cooked, so crunchy it hurt your teeth and inedible. Wasted money. We were on the go that night and chipotle had closed by the time we realized the food was bad. Bummed.

Yes, I am old but I get out alot and don't live in a bubble. So how is it that it took me so long to eat here? Probably due to my aversion of chains but man, Chipotle changed me. I'm on board with their attempts to bring better proteins to the table and their flavor combinations are off the chart. You can't go wrong with any options but to me, the barbacoa is hard to beat. While not traditional, made with beef rather than lamb, the meat is tender and unctuous and pairs well with any of their salsas. Also, don't miss out on their guacamole and chips. It seriously rivals that of local mexican restaurants. Cilantro. Red Onions, Citrus. Perfection. While I still will choose a local place over a chain, in a pinch, Chipotle has my vote. It's fast. It's cheap. It's delicious!

The portions are nonexistent. I requested extra shredded cheese and meat and there was barely any. Go to Q'doba if you want something like Chipotle. It's very close and the portion sizes are bigger and it'll be easier on your wallet.

Chipotle is by far my favorite fast food restaurant! Even if the line looks like it will take forever you usually don't stand in line for a long time.The staff is very friendly. They did run out of one Ingredient and i had to opt for something else which made my meal not as tasty as it usually is. Remember if you want guacamole it's always extra! I usually get the burrito bowl but they have lots of options for you to choose from. The great think about this location is that you can take your food and enjoy it at the Union which is just a less than 5 min walk! This is especially great in the summer!

I had Chipotle for the very first time today. I know... seems crazy right? But it was pretty ok! The service was awesome. The kid making my food was totally patient with my awkwardness and how I for some reason have such a hard time ordering at these "build your own" type places. I got a burrito bowl with steak, queso, fajita vegetables, guacamole, and hot salsa. It was pretty good! Got a LARGE serving of guacamole which I am definitely not complaining about. The steak was... meh. Some weird textures mixed in there but overall it was ok. For fast food it's fine. I think you pay a little more than it's worth, but I would go back if I was in a hurry and wanted something filling. Overall I liked it.

I don't know her name, but the old lady who works there has to go. She makes food at glacial speeds with pathetic proportions that make the price not worth it at all. When shes not there, it's great portions with a price that's worth it. Overall, especially when she isn't on the clock, absolutely love the food.

This Chipotle was the worst one I have ever been in. The place was covered in trash, you couldn't find employees, and they were an hour behind on pick up orders. You had to order digitally and the times they were given were all wrong. They were so far behind. We had to leave without our food. Strongly discourage people from going there

I love Chipotle, but this location serves burritos that are half the size of all other locations. When I studied abroad, I missed Chipotle more than I missed my family. That's how much I love Chipotle, but I skip this location because I always leave hungry. Go to another location or the Q'doba on the next block. Also, the steak is always overcooked, not the medium rare that all other locations have perfected.

The worst chipotle in America and it's not close. Half of the time you can't order in person and only digital. Then the digital orders are 30 minutes behind schedule, at the very least. They are consistently out of ingredients and have terrible customer service.

This is hands-down the sorriest group of employees I have ever experienced. During my 3 years living in Madison this organization has amazingly declined in both service and quality of food. From portion size to lackluster customer service this Chipotle offers nothing but disappointment with a side of attitude to their customers. Do not waste your time or money here.

Hands down the worst Chipotle in the Central Time Zone. The older lady that runs the meat station is so skimpy with the portions that I almost asked for triple steak. Not only that, they consistently communicate the orders wrong and I've gotten charged for guac without ordering it.

I absolutely Love Chipotle. So Friday night I decided let's go to the Chipotle on state street,I had never gone there before and I figured it should be ok visiting that location...I would Never go there again. The ingredient station was filthy, where the food is prepared didn't look clean at all. I still ordered and that was the worst tasting chicken bowl and burrito EVER. The meat was unseasoned, and had Fat attached still. It was sloppy and unappealing looking. I won't go back to that one, and my chips were chewy.
