Absolutely awful experience today. The employee Kelsey (not sure if that’s how it’s spelled, but I asked another worker for her name) was incredibly rude from start to finish.
I watched her be semi-polite with the group ahead of me, asking all the normal questions like “bowl or burrito?” “what kind of rice?” “what kind of chicken?” It wasn’t anything over the top but also wasn’t how people should be greeted. Anyway, the second it was my turn, I was met with nothing but a blank, cold stare. No greeting. No questions. Nothing. I had to awkwardly start my order myself just to move things along.
She made my tortilla and went through every section, rice, beans, meat, sour cream, lettuce, without saying a single word. NOT A WORD. Her demeanor was stank the entire time. Not a smile, not a bit of effort, just attitude.
And let me be clear, this is not a language issue. She spoke perfectly fine to the customers before me. I’m Hispanic and fluent in Spanish, so I know that wasn’t the problem. This was just plain disrespect.
Even after I paid and was leaving, she kept giving me looks. It was honestly disgusting behavior from someone representing a brand I actually love. I’ve never been treated like that at any Chipotle, and it made me feel completely unwelcome.
If a manager happens to read this, please reach out. I’d really like to discuss what happened because this level of unprofessionalism should not slide. Everyone can have a rough day, but there’s no excuse for treating paying customers with that kind of attitude. People who treat others this way are a cancer to the brand.
