Chiquita's Pizzeria & Mexican Grill

Sub was DE-LISH!!! My daughter ordered it and I picked it up on my drive back to MD. The sub was GINORMOUS!! The chicken chunks on the sub were seasoned to perfection, sub was packed with ooey gooey goodness. I enjoyed the house made garlic Parmesan sauce but the tenders were processed & did taste processed, was expecting freshly fried strips of chicken, but nevertheless they were edible. The sub for me was a 2-part meal, definitely hearty & filling. I’ll go back to try other items, it’s my daughter’s favorite spot.

My fav nachos in the city (I just get the plain ones), chips are wonderfully crisp and seasoned, great balanced toppings (pico de gallo, cheese, refried beans $ fresh jalapeños). Al pastor burrito is also 10/10. Mexican pizza 10/10 as well (great balance again between toppings sauce and cheese ). Been ordering delivery from here for several years and it’s consistently awesome every time.

Chiquita’s really impressed me today. I ordered catering for my Mother’s Day get together, and Chiquita’s was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. My guests raved about the elote and mega nachos. I appreciate that the salsa was actually spicy, and that nopales and cebolla cambray were included. Excelente trabajo. I will definitely be back for more.

The food is very good in taste. What I didn’t like was the service I had to repeat myself many times for the address and they were still wrong, then when it finally arrived the pizza arrived very cold. likee reallyyy cold

The worst thing about eating here was that I ate everything and all of it was good. You can’t stop. I tried the Plantain and Steak Burrito, Elote and Churros. I wish the burrito was toasted to make it a perfect 10. The churros were some of the best I’ve had in my lifetime.

i order from here through uber eats quite often, and i have no complaints about service. you can tell just about everything is homemade. i absolutely love their fresh chips and guacamole is just perfect, also their tres leches is delicious! while i do think some things are a bit pricey (like $8 for elote is crazy), you are paying for good quality. i will say that i did not enjoy their pizza, it was rather watery and the cheese was falling off the pie, just way too much moisture. i chalk it up to me ordering right before close and i will definitely eat from there again, just maybe not pizza lol

Came here for a late night bite with friends and I can honestly say this was one of my most enjoyable food experiences ever. It's not fancy. It is quite small, with only a couple tables. It's cluttered and crowded and noisy and you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the smallest closet of a bathroom I ever saw. And it was wonderful! It's honest and fresh and friendly and creative. My burrito al pastor was exactly what I wanted it to be. Sweet and savory and salty and huge. My companions got tacos and they seemed quite pleased too.

Some of the best Al pastor pizza in the city and great value for flavorful Birria tacos. They have everything with a super creative and inventive menu, and everything is so good- it’s a regular spot for us no matter what we’re in the mood for. Menu is great, the people and atmosphere are phenomenal; they’re an integral part of the community. My only complaint is that they’re walking distance from my apartment so I get it way more than I should because it’s just too tempting.

I ordered two pizzas - the al pastor and chicken mole. Holy cow! The pizzas were delicious - from toppings to crispy and chewy crust. The al pastor was my favorite. The meat was flavorful and there was just enough pineapple. Each slice of pizza had a slice of avocado. The chicken mole pizza was good. Unfortunately, I could not taste the mole sauce. The star subtraction is because this pizza simply tasted like a pizza with chicken on it. The green and red sauces (served on the side) were excellent on the pizza, but I wanted to taste mole. We tried another pizza place that had al pastor on the menu, and quickly determined Chiquita's is far better.

Decided to check this place out for Dine Latino week and was satisfied. We got birria nachos and a burrito. Both were appropriately priced for the size and heftiness. The consomme was just to my liking; herby, flavorful, and not too salty. We also got a melon agua fresca which was delicious and paired perfectly with our food. This is definitely more of a take-out place...sparse and cramped seating with minimal service. Vibes were off, and staff seemed annoyed about having dine-in patrons. I had hoped for our food to be hot, but they took quite long and food arrived cold. The cheese on my nachos had already hardened. If there's a next time, we'll be ordering for delivery.

Absolutely amazing food and great service! I have ordered from there several times in one week because of how good their birria tacos are. And the grilled wings are amazing- crispy but not dry at all. Honestly 10/10 all around, and I couldn't recommend them enough. As for "Aubrey C", I find it incredibly ironic that she's going off about the workers there not speaking English when it's obvious that she herself lacks knowledge of the English language as evidenced by lack of punctuation and not knowing the difference between "their", "there", and "they're".

Placed a large catering order for a 15 person party for delivery. It went seamlessly! All the food was delivered at the time stated, it was hot and delicious! The crowd loved it! Will definitely do again in the future

Our favorite pizza spot, we love all the different creative combinations. They also have amazing vegan food. Our family orders from here every couple of or few weeks or so. They are so kind and the service is amazing. Love this spot.

I order lunch from Chiquita's at least 1-2 times a week and am always very pleased with my food. My personal favorites are the Tajin Shredded Chicken Salad and their jamaica, but I've ordered other salads from here and always enjoyed them. The serving sizes are large and the ratio of lettuce to toppings is perfect. The food always comes quickly when I order delivery and it's always fresh. They even go the extra mile to seal the juices to keep them from leaking during delivery.

My husband and I only do take out once a week- on Friday. Chiquita's is a great go to because if we can't agree on whether we want Mexican food or pizza/ cheesteaks we can get both and everything we've had from here has been amazing. We order the fajita salad every time, no matter what. The homemade ceasar dressing is wildly good (my only complaint is we always order and pay for extra dressing and rarely get it).

Chiquita's is consistently very good when it comes to service and delicious food. I've tried most of their menu and it's all great, hard to choose from so many options! The jumbo fried quesadilla is out of this world, I ate for like 3 days straight

Chiquitas is a South Philly staple!!! We've been ordering from here since the month we moved to the neighborhood 3 years ago. The menu has such a variety, so many great options. Their quesadilla frita de birria is life changing (enough for 2-3 ppl), the street tacos are filling and flavorful, THE WINGS!!!!! Ugh no words. they have some of the most reasonable prices in the city. Support your local businesses, especially this one!!!

This is a review of Aubrey C. aka "Marjorie Trailer Green" aka "Pussie Smollett" who also decided to spew hateful rhetoric and muck up a perfectly good Friday for the rest of us. Based on your loaded review, why did you find yourself on 8th and Snyder? Would love to know more. If you want to charge your Tesla, stick to the big box store parking lots. Dave Portnoy hasn't trekked his way here yet, so very curious what brings you to the badlands, as it were? Based on your writing comprehension, I would be very careful at criticizing others for their grasp of the English language. Additionally, the plausibility of bugs, sogginess, a hair, an insulting staff member, and Ryu the server drop-kicking your offspring into a permanent disability is about as likely as your tinfoil hat getting struck by lightning twice. However, if that were the case, look at Morgan & Morgan for representation... I'm sure they would love a deposed account of what happened from any of the voices inside your head. Stick to Papa John's, and papa Tide Pod.

Chiquita's is my favorite pizza place around. The owners are lovely and the food is always delicious and hot. Delivery is quick, and the staff are all always friendly. That woman below Aubrey is a racist troll who's entire page is full of nasty reviews and she just seems unhinged. Order food and see for yourself how lovely they are, and enjoy the delicious food this establishment has to offer.

I've hired Chiquita's to cater multiple birthday parties for my family as well as one of my work events. We also get takeout just for fun! The food is always delicious, especially the birria quesadillas. I love the elote and the churros. The plantains are also excellent. I think their Mexican pizzas are way better than their plain pizzas but the kids like the plain ones. Service is quick and their delivery drivers have been great even when trying to find me in the middle of a park (see above re birthdays...).

Perfect take out/delivery spot for our family! Everyone gets what they want. Great wings, pizza, salads, tacos, sides...always a hit. Also a community-minded spot with back-to-school specials, great menus for parties, etc. Our family orders at least twice a month Chiquita's never disappoints!!

Chiquita's Pizzeria and Mexican Grill is a tiny place with just three tables and chairs. The name of the restaurant and the menu intrigued me. I am completely obsessed with Al Pastor and I can't say I've ever seen an Al Pastor pizza or an Al Pastor stromboli. But instead of being adventurous and jumping right into one of those items I decided to play it safe and go with the Al Pastor Street Tacos. For ten dollars and some change I got three healthy tacos garnished with the standard cilantro and onions. However, there were also sauteed onions mixed in with the pork as well as something else I couldn't identify. Could have been a kind of pepper (not spicy though) or possibly nopales. I picked through the meat to remove these extra onions and the other thing. I feel like with a good Al Pastor marinade you don't need to anything else to it. There were other garnishes that I wasn't expecting as well. Some carrots and cucumbers. With the addition of all the "others" one of the main ingredients was significantly lacking and that was the pineapple. I had barely any in my filling or tasted it in the meat. That's a tremendous disappointment when the Al Pastor is known for that flavor profile. All of my picking apart aside, the tacos were pretty decent. They gave me two green sauces instead of a red and green. The thicker sauce was very spicy and a good addition to the taco. I'm definitely willing to try other menu items and see what they have to offer.

I have ordered from Chiquita's dozens upon dozens of times and every time every single item has been not just good but great. The experience also has always been great and I have never had an issue during the ordering process and could always understand everyone taking the order just fine . As for the food I have been ordering from here for years so this isn't a comprehensive list but some of my regular orders all of which I can attest are great: Tinga shrimp burrito or tacos, Garlic parm tenders ( they are Garlic forward as the name suggests so if you don't like garlic don't order this), anything Birria most especially the Birria Cheesesteak which is down right addictive ( I struggle to switch things up and not to order it every time we order from here), cactus fries, philly steak pizza, old bay tots and their milkshakes.

Ordered Chiquitas via DoorDash and the food was delicious. Got the loaded nachos, mozzarella sticks and my favorite, Mexican coke. The food came hot and packaged well for delivery and were very generous portions. No complaints at all, just absolutely tasty and so sad I moved out of Philly that I can't order from there again.

I've ordered from Chiquitas numerous times and they've been able to accommodate my food allergies (avocado) and intolerances (gluten, eggs) with ease. They tell me what is safe for me to eat, what can be modified to be safe, and what will not be safe. I appreciate a business that is honest about their ability to accommodate my needs, and I've never gotten sick from their delicious food. My family members who don't have food restrictions also love it!

I placed my order for pickup through its website. Very user friendly. The menu is extensive: pizza, Stromboli, breakfast, milkshake, smoothies. When I arrived about half hour later, my food was ready. Staff is friendly. Tacos al pastor is delicious. I can taste the spice of the seasoning which is very down distinct. It has some pineapple and small pieces of nopales aka cactus. Meat is a little bit overcooked but generous in portion. It also comes with some carrot sticks, jalapeño, and small onion. Overall it's a pretty good tacos

As others have mentioned, get the Al Pastor pizza! It's delicious and so flavorful. Tip - I'd recommend picking up you pizza versus delivery. If there is a delay in delivery and it takes a while to get to you, the quality of the pizza decreases a bit.

Lil' hole-in-the-wall but never misses. I order their take out like... often. Way more often than I'd like to admit. The burritos are a hit but the Al pastor pizza (w/ extra pineapple and extra green sauce) keep me coming back. Also their grilled wings?! Fall off the bone, incredibly flavored, like wood fired or something. Highly recommend for low cost/high reward takeout.

As for the pizza side of the restaurant, I've ordered some alright food in the past. Good portions and super cheesy meals. But recently, I ordered a burrito and the birria tacos and while the portions were awesome, the quality was overshadowed by sheer mass. Not too much in terms of good flavor, but the ingredients are obviously alright and the amount is definitely a deal. Burrito was falling apart though, and the flavors were dull, even in the hot sauces they provided. Consume on the side of the tacos was oniony for sipping and dipping, though. Would love to try the mexican pizzas, but the burrito wasn't the one.

Was craving the pizza and wings so we went back and I have to say the quality hasn't changed since ur last visit. The grilled honey sriracha wings were even better this time around and despite all the issues with chicken, the quality hasn't changed We also got an xtra large la guera pizza with chorizo. The corn and chorizo is an amazing combo and if you are a garlic lover this is the pizza for you. My car still smells like this delicious pizza the next day. The menu is huge but honestly I think this is going to be my go to order from now on

Got a few things from here but had to get the Al Pastor pizza. Top 5 things I've eaten in my entire life. Everything was AMAZING. I cannot wait to come back and try more!!!

We thought JLJupiter and friend may have been over emphasizing the goodness they experienced with the Mmmmm.. so good...game changer comments......BUT oh HOW THEY WERE SOOO RIGHT!!!!! This food is incredible!!! My only regrets are that I couldn't try EVERYTHING ON THE MENU AND THAT THEY ARE NOT IN MY AREA! Your food has so much appeal, just from the appearance, but then the flavor and taste will excite your pallet!! I've done the delivery from Grubhub a couple of times, as I'm in West Philly. I am in love! The pizza is brilliant, the salads are delicious and if I had the money and metabolism to not gain weight by just looking at food, I'd eat here at least once a week.

I have never been in person to this joint. I only order through Grubhub. Sure I had my craziness with their delivery people but either they read my hate reviews or resolved their delivery problems. They get 4 stars because their food is junk, and I don't give more than four stars to junk food. Let's be honest. This isn't good for you. It's wings, pizza, various cheesy Mexican things. But everything is tasty, generous, and fresh. You can get the wings grilled not fried. There, you're welcome. They even have salads. So I guess this could be healthy if you don't eat too many of the chips. But you will.
