Chiringuito Es Bruc Review - Sant Tomás - Menorca - The Infatuation

"Once you’re drizzling lemon over barbecued sardines, garlicky squid, and prawns hot off the grill, you’ll get the fuss everyone has been making over Es Bruc since it opened in the 1950s. It’s located right on the beach in Sant Tomàs, and there's another outpost in Cala Santandria, just south of Ciutadella. They also do great fried seafood, plus burgers, steaks, and tortilla for some turf with your surf. Many other chiringuitos tend to be lunch-only affairs, but you can get late breakfast here from around 10am. Along Menorca’s central-southern coast, walking routes weave out by the water to hidden coves such as Cala Escorxada, which makes Es Bruc a convenient post-swim/post-hike stop." - Isabella Noble

Its a lovely place to eat if you time it well with the sunset. No paper menus, you scan on your phone and then read the menu from that.

Called in for lunch break during long walk. Ordered tuna salad and a portion of chips to share. Salad ok Chips arrived cold and looking very sad! Immediately advised waiter who refused to accept there was an issue and proceeded to place his full hand on top of the chips and continued to say that they weren’t cold. We persisted politely with our request for fresh chips - particularly as he had handled them! He became quite aggressive but took them away gesturing his displeasure. We should have left at that point. We would not return!!

Did a walk in for a drink but stayed for a meal. Beautiful beach setting and battered calamari was excellent for starters followed by the lamb chops and cod fillet which was equally good. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely evening and well done team

They call themselves Chiringuito, since they are directly on the beach, but they are much more than that, a real restaurant. They serve generous meals and it is all home-made. They serve fabulous croquettes from calamarsets with tinta negra! They were delicious. We were here with a whole family of 6. The service was very friendly and helpful. The view is the beach and the water. A recommended and new addition to the eateries on Cala Santandria.

Waited ages for our meal. The kids sole and chips looked suspiciously like basa. Small skinny and boney. Should have probably been thrown back in the sea. Burger and chips was okay. I had the ham and eggs. Could have made a better meal if I'd been drunk. To top it off they tried to charge us for drinks we never ordered. We'll not go back.

Part of the hotel we stayed at. Run separately. Good service, clean, fairly basic menu though. Open sided on to the beach. Fairly priced. We used it a couple of times and were quite satisfied accepting it is what it is. Usually quite busy.

Amazing food, good quality and generous quantities. The location is amazing, on the beach, and there are different veggie options. You should try the cheese omelette, it’s so yummy!

The food was absolutely amazing but the flies made it almost impossible to sit and enjoy (but it's out of their control, mostly due the sea water, the seafood, etc) Great service.
