A fast, casual eatery - order at the counter and take a seat indoors or outdoors. We ordered from their specials menu. My chicken breast combo came with grilled chicken filet, over rice and beans with avocado. My son's chicken sandwich and fries had 2 filets, veggie toppings on the side. At least chicken wasn't fried. Satisfied with our meals. $12-13 each. Drinks bought separately.

Decent place but a little pricey for the quality of food. To be fair I ordered the chicken nuggets for a quick snack on the go, but I found them lacking in portion size for the price. Would be interested in trying the grilled chicken as that seems to be more of their specialty

It has great food, a bit overpriced and the coleslaw wasn’t that good. Overall a decent experience and i would recommend trying the place, it is nice and clean and has a sweet vibe.

Got the quarter chicken with side of mashed potatoes. The chicken was fine, super super salty. The mashed potatoes were clearly instant mashed potatoes, but the flavor of them was fine. The pita with the char on it was good, a nice touch. I wish they secured their food better for delivery (staple the bag). Would get again if I wanted cheap, convenient comfort food.

I've been eating here at chirping chicken for well over 30 years, soo tasty just love this fresh charcoal cooked chicken

When I lived in the city, I would go here often. I drove by today, and I just had to stop. The restaurant is clean, bright, and relatively good seating. For what you pay you, get a ton of food for the price. Very selective menu with so much to choose from. Outdoor parking is not ideal, so I recommend being in the neighborhood or ordering ahead and picking it up yourself. Overall, great place because you get a lot of food for the price you pay

Surprinsingly good! We were freezing cold walking from thr AMNH, and we wanted something to kill the hunger. Amazing service, very warm atmosphere super chill, affordable prices and the quality: excellent!! They gave us a free lemonade!

Solid charbroiled chicken, nothing special but hits the spot. Was starving in Central Park so hit this place up for some quick cheap(er) eats. Got the grilled chicken breast with rice and beans (wanted kebabs but they weren't ready yet and I was starving). It was seasoned nicely, and was quite tender and juicy. Beans were my husband's favorite part haha. Baby loved the rice. All in all solidi if you're looking for fast and simple.

Very affordable meals; I like the chicken gyro (with fries). It's flavorful and filling, the charbroiled meat is tender and juicy. Their salads, even small size, are huge. Just remember to bring a drink since the drinks here are quite pricey. Food comes out fairly quickly, even during their busy hours. Staff is rather no-nonsense. There's about 10 tables for small and medium parties, I think about 40-50 people could fit inside, and there are a half dozen small tables outside as well.

Nice neighborhood casual restaurant. Ordered the chicken sandwich with french fries. So good. There is some seating, but I took it to go. Was wrapped wonderfully. Would go back again. Friendly place.

Their fired grilled chicken reminds me of El Pollo Loco (in a good way), but just NYC pricing :). I don't love the other chicken items I've tried but maybe I just haven't found another I like

Wow! Confirmation of my order at 6:00pm. Delivery at my door less than 15 minutes later!!! Granted I'm like ten blocks away but still. Everything hot. Everything correct. And the plantanos maduros extra well done are perfection!! Thank you Chirping Chicken for being a family favorite.

Absolutely Love Chirping Chicken. Delicious, Consistent Food. A family staple that never disappoints. Took the opportunity to dine-in one evening as the UWS location has casual seating inside and sidewalk seating. I always appreciate the specials especially when I am dining with someone else. I order the whole chicken special which came with two sides and it was more than enough for me and a friend. The salad and rice and beans were great sides to accompany the juicy chicken and hot pita. Please be sure to ask for the honey mustard as its a good dressing as well as dipping sauce for the chicken. Service was friendly and fast; always a plus!

This chicken is so much better than your standard grocery store rotisserie chicken, and has a price tag to match. For $12, their 1/4 chicken meal deal (1/4 chicken plus salad, pita bread, and a side) was the perfect portion for lunch. They have a seating area for dine-in, but it's not very vibey since most people there are waiting for their takeout orders. Would highly recommend this place if you're a fan of quality, tasty chicken. I could see this becoming a go-to for me if they had a location near me.

Average. Lots of food, but when paying $19, I'd expect it. Charles chicken is a lot more flavorful than here and the same if not slightly cheaper. Service was Kurt and to the point. I asked questions as a first timer and got nothing. I got 1/2 chicken with mashed sweet potato. The mashed sweet potato was bland. No special flavor. Might literally be mashed and that's it. The chicken was hardly seasoned but they're sauces save it. The bbq is liquid but very flavorful. Just different. The hot sauce is good. Honey mustard ok. The salad and dressing was tasty. Bread was fine.

Came here for lunch with a friend and immediately was drawn to the grilled chicken strips. It has a nice outdoor seating area. And was greeted with a friendly waiting staff. The food was okay.

Went consistently over four days to try and make up for protein requirements (MACRO dieting) while staying uptown, and Chirping Chicken came thruuuuu. Got the half white meal essentially every day and it was amazing. So well prepared, delicious even without the skin, and served with hot sauce and tzatiki, it is just unmatched.

I ordered takeout from Chirping Chicken and one of my items was incorrect. But because I was tired I decided not to call the restaurant and just deal with the mistake. 1/2 hour later they came back to my building (without my asking!) and delivered the missing order. That is so awesome! So upstanding and honest. Thank you so much! Plus, the food is great.

One of my Favorite Restaurants in NY! It's on the corner of my Hotel I always stay at and it's my first stop!

Fast service and good food. You order at the counter, pick a seat and pick up the food when they call you number. Bring cash because they have a 4% surcharge if you pay card which they don't disclose. I ordered the whole chicken with two sides special (pick between mash potato, baked potato, sweet potato and mash sweet potato). I picked the mash and basked potato. The chicken was fresh and came with 4 pieces of pita bread. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes.

I went here because they have chicken and lentil soup on the menu to get for a friend who was sick. I was told it was seasonal and they had none. It was the middle of October! I won't be going back. It says they have it online. They have no soup at all. So list it as seasonal. I do not recommend this place at all. Chicken soup is a seasonal item for this place.

The chicken is always delicious and juicy. I order the chicken kebab platter every time. Everything is quite good and the prices are reasonably cheap for the upper west side.

I have visited this location plenty of times and the service and staff are very friendly and helpful. The charcoal boil chicken is very delicious and juicy no where near dry. They offer a variety of meals for reasonable pricing. The food is fresh and great for lunch. They have a lot of tables for small and large groups. The pita bread combo it's my favorite. The picture below is there burrito bowl which was very delicious as well. I would recommend this place as I am a regular here and food consistently taste good.

I came here last night for a late night dinner and surprisingly they were open till 12 even though yelp says they close at 10 ! I ended up getting the grilled chicken rice and salad. Everything was delicious but I really want to get the white meat grilled chicken next time instead of the thigh meat. I absolutely loved my ice tea and lemonade. Those drinks were very delicious. I tried a bite of the turkey burger and it tasted amazing and the fries were very fresh and crispy. Next time I'll order the turkey burger for sure !

Too bad the midtown location closed- it's good and dependable, great for lunch or a quick dinner. Unfortunately, it can be inconsistent more often at the uptown location that I can remember from the midtown location....

I used to stop by Chirping Chicken all the time several years back, but I stopped eating chicken. One day at occurred to me that I remember seeing they had fish options, and while they discontinued serving Branzino (kind of a disappointment), I had the salmon. It's actually a very ample portion for the price, the rice and vegetables in the platter are fresh and perfectly cooked, and then adding that fresh tzatziki sauce and warm grilled pita bread to the mix absolutely put it over the top. So far deliveries were fast and food was warm when I got it. Exceptional quality and serving for the price.

Let's just give it 5 stars for the food. Freshly made and flavorful. It has seating area. Pretty large tables. But mainly take out place. In evening you see parents doing a pickup after work. They have a large menu. I want to go back just to try all the things

The food is gross. The chicken gyro is on some kind of chicken patty crap and the sauce is so watery it's like milk spewing out after each bite. It wasn't worth the two bites I took before deciding to waste it completely. Avoid this place and find something better.

Jimmy is back!, That what it says on the menu.. and then actually got to speak to Jimmy my Greek fiance got to speak to him and they were more than hospitable to us. The nicest guys you could ever meet in a place with great comfort food. And looked out for us. Anyway I can't recommend this place enough if I can give it 10 stars I would.

You get what you pay for and is well priced for New York City. I got the chicken Caesar wrap with fries and the wrap was crisp and delicious. Good spot to stop for lunch!

I truly do love this location. The chicken, whether you order the combo meals or chicken thighs over salad, is always perfectly cooked. And that it's across from the gym only makes it better.

the worst delivery experience ever. ordered directly from their web site. they are about 6 blocks from me. ordered for one person. perfect weather. waiting now over an hour and 10 minutes - they keep saying it will be there and then "its in the lobby" all bs. will never order from them again.

Food is good However they are charging extra with wrong pricing on the wall and cc credit card surcharge without any notice on menu or wall pricing. This is consumer fraudulent action that should be reported. When asked the manager he told me that the pricing on the wall is wrong! Clear fraud action!

Wow, nothing like ordering salmon , being served a pork chop and the server insisting that you ordered it! After waiting 20 minutes I just gave up. It was dry as fuck and overcooked.

Decent meal and delicious chicken for a good price. I ordered the 1/4 chicken (dark meat) with mac and cheese as my side. It comes with pita and greek salad. I wouldn't come here just for the mac and cheese, it was plain and mushy, nothing spectacular. The green salad was refreshing but kind of small. There was plenty of pita but it was pretty dry to eat with the meal, I wish there had been some kind of sauce provided with it. The chicken was the star of the show. The dark meat was moist and flavorful. The skin was crispy and I wish I had gotten more chicken!

Ordered onlne just after 9pm for 30-minute home delivery. Called after 1 hr. Said food was on its way --but nothing.Called again after another 30 min. Another promise, then nothing. Completely unreliable re delivery. I've eateninside and liked the food. But delivery?? No more chances.

Just want to reiterate how horrible the service and value is at this particular location. Decided to give them another chance, which is my fault. Ordered delivery at 11am and still waiting for it at 12:30. I've called twice and both times I was told it's "5 minutes" away. They are also significantly more expensive than the 42nd street location, which charges anywhere from $3-5 less for the exact same item. Ok, now I mean it.... never again.

Chirping Chicken is a great option if you're looking for a good, solid meal at a reasonable price of $10 - $20, for lunch or dinner. I just ordered take-out for dinner last night and had plenty of food left over. - 1/4 Chicken: Tasty and filling, with great pita bread on the side - Mac N Cheese: The macaroni was thin and soft, but it was nice and cheesy - Mashed Sweet Potatoes: Good flavor, but the texture was too mushy for my taste The sides weren't my favorite, but the chicken was as good as always.

Chirping chicken is my go to late night spot. I work overnight in the city and they offer fast quick delivery. Good prices good food.

I ordered the spicy wings and the potato salad from here, and they were both delicious! The wings were a little on the small side, but were fried perfectly, very tender and juicy, and they were very accommodating of my requests. The potato salad was not bad - it was sliced, and mixed with mostly mayonnaise. They have a lot of other chicken dishes to try here, including rotisserie, pita wraps, burrito bowls, and more.

Great place for a quick bite. The chicken is flame broiled and that makes it taste soooooo good. I had a chicken souvlaki with feta and it was extremely satisfying. Definitely a place I recommend.

The chicken is tasty and juicy. Also strongly recommend the ribs. The food is high quality with a great price. Although the place is always very busy and have lots of take out orders, they are very efficient. We got our large order within a few mins.

I usually order in. The grilled chicken and pita bread is excellent. It's moist and mouth watering. Better when eaten hot. Even better as leftovers. Their burgers are really good. I much rather have one at Chirping Chicken than one at a certain chain restaurant in the 70's. Their fries and their grilled vegetables are also my favorites. Personal observation and opinion: When calling in to place a takeout order, the staff may sound like they are shouting at you. In actuality, they have to talk louder because of the background noise. They at times can hardly hear anything you are saying on the phone. The place is packed during it's peak hours.

We wandered in while taking a walk and abandoned our lofty goal of cooking at home after a hard day at work. We went for the meal combo of 1/2 chicken, which comes with a side salad and a choice of sides. We went for the Mac n cheese which was amazing. The cheese was so gooey and the portion was just enough to split between two people. We actually thought we were going to be able to stretch the meal into two days but it didn't happen. We finished the whole thing between two people in one meal. The chicken was tender and flavorful. We added some hot sauce from home on it which made it even better (though definitely not necessary). The cost was reasonable too. Would definitely come back

Chipping chicken is consistently very good... Chicken is delicious and the barbecue sauce is terrific... Sides are great is very satisfying

It was my second trip to NYC in two weeks and even colder this time around with the temperature hovering around four degrees Fahrenheit. Once again, I arrived well past 10PM, and even in the Upper West Side, late evening dining options were slim. This fast food spot happened to be a block away from my hotel and open until 2PM. There are six of them in Manhattan, so I assumed they must have quite a following for their chicken. Even walking the one block was tortuous to this Left Coaster, but I made it to find a full staff but just one other customer. They serve ribs, burgers, burrito bowls, and gyros wraps, but they're best known for their charcoal broiled chicken.i decided to order the 1/2 Chicken individual meal for $14.25 as it afforded me a salad and a side (photo: http://bit.ly/2tjdOL2). What I didn't know was that they were out of several sides like the mixed vegetables and corn on the cob. That left me with the Rice & Beans which were pretty heavy going (photo: http://bit.ly/2Byu7Z4). The leg and thigh were tender, but the breast was a bit on the dry side. I liberally squeezed the bottle of the honey mustard sauce in order to moisten it. Most of their business at that hour consisted of deliveries and pick-ups, so it was a bit lonely in there. Once I finished gnawing on the chicken and splooged the sauce onto the pita wedges, it was back into the cold for me.
