Flint’s Barbecue Owner Starts New Creole Soul Food Business | Eater SF
"Instead of barbecue, Martin has launched Lady Flint’s Creole Soul as a tribute to her family’s roots in Monroe, Louisiana and to her sister Martha, who taught her to barbecue and passed away last year; the recipes are a collaboration with her sisters Lynette Martin and Theresa Martin-Stroud. Starting as a series of occasional pop-ups (the first tentatively slated for January), the concept serves Creole and soul-food comfort dishes that have already been tested via Sunday dinners ordered through Martin’s Facebook page: a popular shrimp Creole made with hot sausage added to a tomato-based broth and served over rice with a succotash-like Cajun corn on the side; classic red beans and rice; and a Jamaican-inspired mustard chicken marinated overnight in a Dijon mustard, sweet vermouth, and Worcestershire blend and then baked (Martin says that’s her personal favorite). While waiting for the public debut, Lady Flint’s is available for catering inquiries at 510-467-4550 or ladyflintscreolesoul@yahoo.com." - Luke Tsai
This is a very pleasant atmosphere where you're guaranteed to wanna sit and enjoy what you've purchased and why wouldn't you? This place ran by Mr. Chisley who happens to be a great Samaritan in the community of Monroe, la where they've been a beacon in the community for 10 years. C'mon down to Chrisley's Soul Food and I guarantee you'll come back over and over, They have this Kool aid that's number one hands down, they have smothered Gar fish, fried cat fish, baked & fried chicken, pork chops, pork steak smothered in gravy and i can go on however I need you to stop in and i promise you'll certainly be more than glad you did!

Best soul food in Louisiana! Fastest service! Friendliest staff! Great prices! Plenty of parking! Cafeteria style setting, dinner is hot and ready.
I had ribs, candied yams, potato salad, cornbread, and a drink. My wife had baked chicken, candied yams, cabbage, roll, and a drink. All for less than $30!
Every bit of the food was 100% delicious!
Best kept secret in Louisiana...oops!

Traveling on I-20 and decided to take a short detour to eat at a local place, and we are glad we did. The patient, friendly server explained our options. My husband decided to try the pig’s feet, I got ribs, and the other member of our party got baked chicken. The ribs and chicken were delicious. My husband decided he simply doesn’t care for pig’s feet - too little meat for all of the fat and bones. The sides we really liked were the potato salad and the mac + cheese. We were disappointed with the cornbread as it was too sweet; not the Southern style cornbread we are used to. The place was busy with local folks, which is a testament to the good food.

You're greeted time when you walk in the door. The servers are dressed healthy, neat & clean, which is a 'plus' with me. The variety of foods on the serving line is hot & appetizing & very good to the taste, & if you're getting a carryout, it doesn't take them long to serve you, even if it's a long line when you arrive, you're in & out of there.

I have never eaten here but I do want to thank one of the older gentleman employees that drives the white car for his kindness and looking out for a complete stranger and keeping my husband's white motorcycle safe. THANK YOU !
I can't wait we are definitely going to eat there real soon!

Yelp
We lucked out as this place is only open on Sundays and it happend to be Sunday. We stopped in for a late lunch about 1:30 and we're given a nice welcome. We were told there were only a few items left as they had sold out of other stuff. We got the smoothered pork chop, two scoops of rice with the pork chop gravy on top, and a scoop of cooked cabbage. The meal also included a roll similar to a kings Hawaiian, a slice of cornbread, a slice of cinnamon cake, and a choice of drink which was koolaide or bottle water (since I am diabetic We went with water), also a side of hot sauce and small container of cranberry sauce. The man and I shared the plate and it was enough for the two of us or easily one really hungry person. The pork chop was so tender we didn't need a knife and the gravy was so flavorful. The rice was lightly seasoned and I appreciated the gravy on it (next time I will ask for extra gravy). The cornbread was sweet and the roll was soft. I loved the cabbage it was soft and had a sweet flavor to it. Overall I can't wait to go back and try more things on Sundays. The meal was about $14 and some change and that included a 3% credit card charge which was fine.
