The 38 Best Restaurants in Baltimore | Eater DC

"There are a few great sushi spots in town, but if you ask most locals, they’ll tell you to head to Chiyo in Mt. Washington. In the heart of the merchant’s village, Chiyo has all the standard nigiri and sashimi you might expect, but we especially appreciate specialty selections like the Orioles roll with white tuna, avocado, and tobiko; udon noodle bowls; and banana tempura ice cream. Chiyo now serves lunch and dinner across a newly added upstairs level, joining seating across its downstairs bar or intimate dining room. Order takeout and delivery on the major apps." - Jess Mayhugh

I took my friend who just discharged from hospital and also celebrating her birthday. The chefs greeted us; the waitress provided great recommendation and service. She remembered the occasion over conversation and brought us the bday surprise. It’s very sweet and a special day to remember. We appreciate you. Lots choices from the menu and taste good. The rice is a bit dry; The parking can be tight. Overall great place.

Google
I drove an hour round-trip after reading all the great reviews, and the sushi I got should’ve never been served. The avocado was clearly past its expiration and should’ve been thrown out, and the salmon did not taste fresh at all. Sushi needs to be made with clean, fresh ingredients—no exceptions. This place has potential, but they need to take quality seriously. You can’t serve questionable ingredients, especially when people are paying and traveling just to try your food.

The quality of the fish here is the best I’ve had in the greater Baltimore area. Really top notch. Like one of the other reviewers mentioned, the rice is a tad dry, but honestly imo the quality of the fish makes up for it. And for the price you can’t beat it. 9.5/10 would recommend. This is going to be my new go-to sushi place now.

Google
Hands down, the BEST sushi place you could find near Baltimore! Their nigiri combos are all so amazing and fresh! We ordered out twice and dined in thrice, and were 1000% happy every time. If you want sushi that is just like what you would get in Japan, this is the place!

Google
Awesome little sushi place in Mount Washington village. Never dined in, but their lunch takeout is on point. LOVE their lunch combos that come w sushi, salad, miso soup (and sometimes shumai). High quality food and well made. Would highly recommend for takeout sushi.

Google
Stopped in for lunch. I got the chef's special and my lunch partner got a bento box. There was a lot of food for the $11 lunch special... The service was quick and the wait wasn't too bad. Sushi was fresh and the soup and salad were excellent!

Google
I have been ordering from here for years, so normally I love this sushi spot and make a point to order from here. Today I got an avocado and an Alaska roll- where the avocado was well past its commercial expiration date. I used DoorDash and paid for faster delivery. The outside looked green but when I cut it open it was all brown on the inside. It was absolutely disgusting. This makes me question the quality of all of the ingredients. I went back to DoorDash to rectify the situation and they were unhelpful.

Google
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. Unfortunately, my friend and I had a bad experience with the food. She ordered the Maryland roll, and the crabmeat smelled bad and was spoiled. The beef teriyaki meat was clearly reheated, the potatoes were overcooked, and the rice smelled bad. The food quality was bad, but the customer service was good in acknowledging the situation and addressing it.

Yelp
This is my go to sushi spot. Whether I'm ordering for pick up or getting it via Uber eats, the quality is consistent.

Yelp
My first time there. The service was great. Our waitress was nice, patient and knowledgeable. Their sushi rolls are tasty while a little pricey. The best part was the desert. We had banana tempura. It had great flavor and good size. However, we were charged with an additional' $2.99 'credit fee'. We don't understand why because the fee was on the check even before we told them we would pay with cash or card.

Yelp
This time it was 9/10 took a point off because the shumai was a tad bit not to my liking. I think I waited to long to eat it so it wasn't as fresh as I wanted it to me which isn't there fault at all. But I literally can't complain about this place. It's convenient and affordable.

Yelp
Rotten fish again. Quality has gone way downhill. Chiyo had been our go-to sushi spot for years, and I was happy to see that their take out business boomed during the COVID pandemic. We typically order sushi about once a week, or every other week. But the past 3 times we have gotten sushi from there we have consistently gotten at least one type of raw fish that smelled bad. After the last two occasions (about 6 months ago) we stopped ordering from Chiyo basically altogether and have used Yama instead. But tonight Yama was closed so we tried to give Chiyo one more shot. Several of the raw fish sushi/sashimi items had legitimately bad fish. In particular the salmon was slightly brown tinged in color, horrible smelling, and inedible. The yellowtail smelled like trash and made my stomach turn. I thought the tuna smelled a little suspect to me but my wife thought it was okay. Avocado/cucumber/tempura shrimp/salad were all good. I called the restaurant to let them know they needed to check to see if there is a bad batch of fish so they don't serve it to others, and instead they said it was fine and offered me a credit for a future order. In summary I'll probably order vegetarian and perhaps cooked things from them at some point in the future but something is either seriously wrong with their product or storage. And since they dseem to be able to distinguish rotten fish, I won't be getting any raw fish from them anymore. Buyer beware.

Yelp
I think I found my new favorite sushi spot because I've been there twice in one week and loved it both times! They have soooooo many sushi options for all and are reasonably priced. We did dine in both times and service was a little slow the first time but was much better the second time. Def check them out if you want good local sushi!

Yelp
Truly, I'd give it a 3.5 star rating if I could. I came here on a Tuesday night with a friend who is a huge fan of Chiyo. We were seated upstairs and service was relatively friendly. The menu is absolutely gigantic and overwhelming. The specialty rolls have an incredible amount of variety and if you have no dietary restrictions, you'll be in heaven. I stuck to the more basic maki rolls since I'm gluten free. We ordered... - salmon nigiri - tuna nigiri - eel nigiri (for my date) - yellowtail roll - Nataly roll (vegetable roll) - Yu-ki maki roll (to share) - Lesley roll (for my date) Overall, it was okay. I wouldn't order nigiri here again though. It did not taste fresh and the texture was chewy. The tuna was just... not good. My favorites were the yellowtail roll and the Nataly roll. The flavor was good and the texture was nice and crunchy. They also have tamari sauce in case you can't have soy sauce. That said, we ordered the Yu-ki maki roll to share since it appeared to be gluten free (yellowtail and avocado inside; salmon, scallion and wasabi mayo outside). The server then came back up about 15 minutes later to say the roll wasn't gluten free since it had mayo. I was super confused because mayo is naturally gluten free. She then said it was cause of the wasabi. Again, super confused because wasabi is also naturally gluten free. I asked if they could just put the sauce on the side just in case, but the chef had already made the roll. This was a little disappointing since I did mention needing gluten free accomodations before we even ordered. There also seems to be a lack of understanding of which of their ingredients are truly gluten free. It would be great to see their extensive menu marked with some indications of what is gluten free too. The roll came up to the table and was absolutely drowning in the mayo sauce. Allergies aside, I just didn't even like the roll. It would've been better without the mayo, in my opinion. Even my date, who is a Chiyo stan, said this was a disappointing visit for him. I probably won't be rushing back.

Yelp
The food is always fresh and innovative The staff treats you like family from the moment you walk through the door. There are two floors and a sushi bar area that you can sit and eat at. The restaurant is cozy and the have nice music playing and beautiful art on the walls. They share a parking lot with some other shops.

Yelp
I just added sushi to my personal menu options (I know, I know) I can't believe it either. It's been a slow progression though. I have gotten takeout a few times, and it's fantastic. Now, just because I started enjoying sushi... I haven't dove right in. My fave is a fried sweet potato roll. They are fantastic here, for sure!! I call ahead and orders have been ready when I arrive. Service is super quick. There's no seating on the main level. Parking is easy on the street and you can run in and out. Give it a try!!

Yelp
The people who work here are so nice, it is hard to give a poor review of the food. At the same time, diners deserve to know. Perhaps the kindest way to say it is that the food is not to everyone's taste. We tried a range of dishes - sushi-sashimi combo, vegetable tempura, roast duck roll, and grilled octopus salad, and none hit the mark. We left all but the vegetable tempura virtually untouched. The tempura was nicely fried and I liked the assortment of vegetables, but since the dipping sauce was not great it was hard to get the full enjoyment of the dish. This was one of those nights when we left with an unsatisfied feeling. I want to thank previous reviewers for noting the unusual set up, with the downstairs mostly being used as a workspace for preparing take out and the actual dining area being upstairs. Since I knew this in advance I understood what was going on and it was fine. Nobody was rude and that is not a reason not to come.

Yelp
I was today years old when I discovered this place, and my life may never be the same. Just when I was ready to give up on finding a perfect sushi spot in Baltimore, there it was. Now here we are. I was meant to be for you as well....

Yelp
Baltimore, Maryland @chiyosushibaltimore has fresh sushi made daily I enjoyed all the specialty rolls and love put into everything! Truly one of the best sushi spots with dine in and pickup available
google avatar

Ruolan S.

Yelp
Appetizers are special. Dinner combo includes sashimi and beef teriyaki. It has a good price. The second floor for dine in is cozy. But servers don't always stay at the second floor. Sometimes it is difficult to get the service you want in time

Yelp
In my opinion this is hands down the best sushi restaurant in Baltimore. I've only ever ordered over the phone/Uber eats and done pick up, but every time I enter the establishment, I'm greeted by staff who are extremely warm and friendly. My go to order is two tempura rolls, an order of spring rolls, and the mochi ice cream for dessert. The flavors are perfect, and the prices are very affordable compared to other sushi spots in the area. I've never eaten at the actual shop, but it's a perfect spot for carry out!

Yelp
So..... what's up with those chairs? Let me tell you. My girlfriend wanted to check this place out. I recalled reading reviews on Yelp and was..... hesitant. But, I love some good sushi. And you can't find it until you find it. The place is very unassuming in a cute area with a few other restaurants I'd like to try in the future. It's like somebody's house was converted into a sushi joint. There's just enough parking. I don't know where you'd park if the parking lot is full. Just don't park in the street (is what I was told). About those chairs. When we entered the front door I could immediately see the sushi chefs behind the bar making rolls. BUT.... you also see what appears to be an assembly line for 'to-go' orders being prepared. They have a table set up in the middle of the room with to-go bowls, bags, etc. And you're blocked from entering the room by 4 chairs lined side by side. Huh? What's going on here I thought to myself. They said the dining room is open. We told them we had a reservation and were told to 'come on'. Just move the chair out of the way. Huh? We were led to the upstairs dining room by one of the employees (I assumed she was an employee, who else would be leading us to our table). Everyone was wearing plain ole street clothes. It was like I came to somebody's house and they were serving me. Weird. We had the place to ourselves and were told Sundays were pretty empty. Now, let's talk about that menu! ...talk about information overload; whoa! They literally have hundreds of rolls. I kid you not! I just had to find something and go with it because I got tired of looking. Variety is good yes, but too much is just..... too much. I got edamame, the double ell roll, sunrise roll, and Maryland roll. I liked the sunrise roll, but REALLY liked the Maryland roll! The crab was fresh! Aside from that.... what I'll say its, been there done that. I can check it off my list. I may order in for those few rolls, but I'll stick to my other spots.

Yelp
Odd, unlikely sushi spot that delivers on quality with generous proportions. While they have a massive menu of sushi rolls, their a la carte, sashimi, and cooked dishes are exceptional. I had their agedashi tofu, sashimi combo, and uni. All great, with the tofu standing out as a super flavorful and hearty dish whereas my general expectation for the dish is light and subtle. The sashimi combo had good variety, quality cuts, and good portions. Service was attentive, helpful, and friendly.

Yelp
I was not expecting how big the Mix Ebi Tempura is. Japanese beer is a must! I should have tried their plum wine but will do that next time. Home like Ambience. The Waitress was superb and serving was fast. It really is hard to find a real Japanese Restaurant here in my area but if you see Japanese folks eating in groups (as i can understand what my next table is) then you know this place is a must try! Fully recommended!

Yelp
Im honestly perplexed. We stopped by since the reviews are good and the pictures look good. The whole experience was truly unpleasant. The place is dirty and the floors are worn and dusty - there is a distinct unclean feeling that should have warned me off, especially since its a sushi restaurant. But I ignored my better judgement and ordered. Also waitress seemed irritated? Held out her hand for the menus in a frustrated manner when we finished ordering. My daughter said hi to her and she ignored her. Very strange and unwelcoming - i felt like we were annoying her / in trouble. Then, the fish came - oof. The salmon nigiri was dry? And both mine and my husband's tasted really fishy, the krabbe roll was also fishy and on top of all of this the sushi rice was completely wrong texturally and unseasoned. Start to finish this was bizarre and unpleasant :( Back to yama I guess.

Yelp
Awesome service, great food, fantastic customer service. We dined in and the place was pretty much empty and quiet. We sat upstairs and received food and service promptly. Fried ice cream... wow incredible. It's ice cream wrapped in pound cake then fried. We got a variety of sushi. Sweet potato roll.. also wow. SO GOOD. Wasn't super impressed with teriyaki chicken though. Would totally come back!!

Yelp
Sushi was absolutely delish!!! Fresh BIG rolls and our server Rita was the best!!! We had the Nate Roll, Dragon Roll and Maryland Roll. So many rolls to choose from! Will be back again soon to try more!!!

Brian S.

Yelp
The crab sushi and spicy tuna was fantastic. Best sushi I've ever had. My server was attentive and friendly

Yelp
Chiyo Sushi in Mt. Washington is a true gem, offering a warm welcome and an authentic Japanese dining experience. The menu features a delightful mix of traditional sushi and innovative dishes, all showcasing the freshest ingredients. The standout for me was the Roast Duck and Dragon Roll, a testament to the chefs' creativity and attention to detail.

Yelp
Great people, great sushi! My fiancé's family comes here frequently for family dinners (birthdays, celebrations, etc). They are always able to accommodate larger parties with no issues! I've seen a few review mentioning that there is only small dining room-- there are plenty more tables upstairs! Their rolls are always fresh and they don't skimp. We normally order a sashimi boat and a variety of rolls for the table to share. No-one ever leaves hungry! I recently just tried their tempura banana dessert also... OMG. It was so good and definitely shareable (Although I tried to finish it by myself... didn't happen). Ask for Jordan as your server, she's great!!

Chamber O.

Yelp
When I have to put the salmon sushi out of my mouth the moment it goes in, we've got a problem. When I sit down to sushi ordered at a restaurant, it should never, ever make me gag. Chiyo isn't some dollar sushi happy hour joint. The cut of fish was weird, rubbery, smelly, unchewable and just plain old. If the chefs behind the counter (one who was lost in texting when I came in) are not paying steely-eyed attention to the quality of their RAW fish, the customers are playing a game of Russian roulette. The miserable mediocrity of my other dishes and fish would not lead me to write this negative review, but they were nothing to seek out either. My restaurant litmus test isn't, "I guess I could eat it." I will never, ever go back.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is one of the best sushi places I ever been in. It's located near the train station. Parking maybe crazy, but it's worth to try. It's small cozy place. The menu is very detailed which tell you what's inside and outside the sushi. I tried the champion roll, it's great. They give warm towels when you are in and when you re done. It's great! I was surprised about the customer service and the quality of sushi. I will be back and try more food there --- This place is always the best sushi place around Baltimore. I have been back multiple times and tried different rolls every time I'm there. It's great as always. Would recommend to anyone who loves sushi and want to try sushi!

Yelp
This is our go-to sushi place! I usually keep it simple and go with the double spicy tuna roll and then pick a new speciality roll each time. The inside of the restaurant is nothing special but service has never been a problem. We typically do take out and it's just as good, and usually about 20 minutes after we call.

Yelp
While it saddens me to have to write this post, I think it's imperative that I share my experience so that people are informed of the recent staffing shifts and the lack of professionalism that ensued. Yesterday, I excitedly brought my daughter to Chiyo Sushi after a long day at the mechanics. I have paid using Apple Pay before but this current staff said that they could not accept Apple Pay. No worries...I drove 12 minutes home to get my wallet and returned so that we could order our food. I asked for me usual, 2 California Rolls with crunch, spicy mayo and eel sauce on the side for 1 (my daughter doesn't eat any of that). When I received my meal, there was crunch on both. I asked if they could make it plain. One of the newer workers asked the man to do it over and I went back to my car to wait. When I came back inside, the shift supervisor came out and told me that "they are closed". I asked about my California Rolls and she said "We aren't making it, because that is not what you ordered". I said "I definitely ordered for everything to be on the side for one order" and she proceeded to cut me off, yell and tell me that I needed to leave the premises. After I saw her hostility and where this was going over a $6 - $8 roll of Sushi, after I have been a loyal customer, I decided to end the conversation right there and leave the establishment. I am very disappointed in the customer service I received. I have never experienced this kind of rudeness and disrespect from the staff there before, however, based on the tone and hostile nature of the employee, my daughter and I will not be patronizing Chiyo Sushi anymore. I hope this helps someone and I hope the management team works to creating a more positive guest environment with staff sensitivity training.

Yelp
If you're a vegetarian sushi fan, Chiyo Sushi is a must! This Mt. Washington hideaway has been on my to-try list for some time, and I was thrilled to finally be able to check it out. Currently operating as takeout only, I had to wait nearly an hour for my order to be ready (albeit peak Saturday night hours), but the wait was well worth it. I was quite impressed by the sheer number of vegetarian specialty rolls to pick from, and selected 4 different rolls to try--Fresh Roll, Four Seasons Roll, Ivy Roll and Sweet Potato Roll. All but the Fresh Roll (8 pieces) were 6 piece orders. Everything was beautifully rolled and packed with undeniably fresh ingredients. The Fresh Roll was my least favorite--the cucumber and squash combo with the mango just didn't quite pack the punch I was expecting. The Sweet Potato Roll stuffed with tempura sweet potato morsels, nailed a vegetarian roll classic. The Ivy Roll was truly unique, with crisp sweetness from the apple, rich creamy notes from the avocado, and a hearty crunch from the fried bean curd. The Four Season Roll was a delicious balance of more tangy pickled veggies and julienned carrot. All and all, an excellent first dining experience and look forward to trying more of the menu!

Alex D.

Yelp
Food was great. Very odd setup, questionable service... Went in and the place was blocked off by chairs, despite two people working behind the sushi bar (who didn't so much as acknowledge my existence). I almost turned around, but finally a host came down and asked if I wanted to dine in... Sat upstairs, where there were lots of other guests. Odd entry, and my waitress seemed like it was not a day she really wanted to be working. But I persisted, ordered, and the food itself turned out great. Guess I'll try it again.
google avatar

Xiao L.

Yelp
The restaurant is small but the sushi is great. Everything on the menu are worth yo try. U can also go to the website for pick up option. The price is a little bit high for full. But it's located at inner harbor, everything is high price.
google avatar

Mickey M.

Yelp
The advocado rolls were delicious sweet perfect ripened. Rice was sticky good but more then an hour sinced cooked. The seaweed was ok but Eloise and I are seaweed connoisseurs. The lovely young red headed server was so sweet. She made it such a lovely lunch. Kudos to the chef. I had salmon teriyaki. Great sauce. I hate sugary sweet or toxic ginger garlic loads. Perfectly cooked. Not dry perfectly fatty. Just enough artistic sesame seeds. I despise fatty fatty cuts of salmon- hiss hiss H-mart. My son Maximillian will love this place when he visits from sf. I can't wait to try the udon and fish tempura.
google avatar

Clynton M.

Yelp
I was really hoping to like this sushi joint, but unfortunately the flavor wasn't there for me. The service was up to par! I really like that they give hot towels to cleanse your hands as you are waiting at the table. Overall the service was good! As for the sushi, the menu is extensive. It was organized into cooked, special and vegetarian rolls. They were in alphabetical order, but this was not helpful at all in differentiating the many different dishes. It took me a while to finally come to a decision. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the rolls I got, but regardless it tasted flavorless to me. I ended up using the soy sauce more often than I usually do to give the sushi some flavor. I also noticed that many of their specialty sushi rolls did not have cucumber. :( I feel like cucumber gives the sushi roll texture and a refreshing bite. I might come back to try out the sashimi, but as for now the special rolls are off my list.

Yelp
Everything that I've ever had from here is delicious. I absolutely love the Chesapeake roll!!! Friendly and warm atmosphere which is greatly appreciated!

TuongVi P.

Yelp
I'm hooked!! I came to this place 2 times within 3 days!!!!! Then more....... The champion roll and the carrol roll were AMAZING! Too afraid to order anything else hahaha The last time i was there I had the aged tofu for appetizer.....wow! A huge portion so it's definitely good for 2-3 persons! I love it so much that I'm drooling thinking about it. There's a small parking next to it but I and my friends found it easier to park on the street because it can be hard to move the car out the parking lot sometimes. Staff was very tentative and friendly.
google avatar

Michael Z.

Yelp
It's a really nice sushi place! The small setting makes the scene intimate and more personal. They start you with hot towels and them give you time to look at the menu. The menu is QUITE extensive and overwhelming. It would be help to have a smaller menu and maybe rotate throughout the season based on whatever is most fresh at the time or maybe if the servers can provide recommendations on what's in season. Otherwise the sushi was good! My only wish was that crispy salmon was "crispy" and the rice could use more flavor
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Such a wonderful, family owned restaurant! They offer so much variety, but I personally ordered a bunch of sushi and every single thing was amazing. Highly recommend the food, plus the owners and staff are so friendly. Definitely try this place out of the others in the area!

Yelp
Possibly the best sushi in Baltimore Region. Unique selection. Great Japanese beer and saki as well. Parking lot is shit though and very tight inside.

Yelp
This week we wanted to try something local. This is a cute little place in Mt Washington/Roland Park area. Ive passed it on my commute but have never tried it until now. We decided to get delivery. I got the Deluxe Sushi Combo which had 9 nigiris, 1 uni (sea urchin) and 1 inure (roe). The sea urchin was honestly an unexpected treat. It was sweet and cool and delicious to eat. It was the first time that my husband tried sea urchin and he loved it! Generous cuts of sashimi as well - loved the combination go fresh salmon, tuna, white fish and sea urchin. Very delish and fresh. I also got a side if the eel sashimi. You can tell the quality of a sushi place by the eel. It was beautiful, fresh and generous cuts of eel sashimi. The sauce was fragrant as well. Really hits the spot. Would highly recommend! This might just become out regular sushi place!
google avatar

Abby W.

Yelp
Location is in a bit of an awkward spot and there are about 5-6 tables but you can always order take out. There were three separate menus and they had sooo many sushi options (cooked, vegetarian, regular) and each roll I had was so yummy. My favorites were the Bruce and Volcano roll. The staff was really friendly and attentive. My waiter noticed right away if I was running low on water, but he wasn't bothersome. Definitely check it out
google avatar

Yelp
Really like this small sushi establishment in Mt Washington. We like to sit by the sushi bar and watch the chefs making everything. The a la carte menu is so much fun, you cross what you want with a pencil, and since the portions are small for each order, you can try as many as you want. I especially their sea urchin, sometimes could be of great quality. The unagi don is also very fulfilling, nicely set in a lacquer box, the top layer of rice was soaked in unagi sauce, so delicious! Not too much a big fan of their special rolls though, pretty good already but I prefer other places. The katsu is not very good, not recommend, the once I had it, the katsu crispy skin and the inside meat were separated and the meat was definitely over fried... Overall, nice place to hang out in a small group with great unagi don and a la carte menu.

Yelp
We strayed from our usual, Yama, to check out Chiyo last night. Everything was pretty good. Edamame was a little too salty for me, I didn't love the flavor of the wasabi dumplings (and I am a huge wasabi fan) but it just didn't work for me. The selection of sushi is EXTENSIVE and I am a bad Yelper, forgetting to document the rolls we landed on. One had crawfish and I believe was the New Orleans roll. It was good! We got two other rolls, one with soft shell crab topped with spicy crab and mayo and the other one escapes me but it sounded extravagant on the menu and ended up being a little bland. All of the rolls were pretty good, but I found this place to be pretty pricey. The dining room is quaint and I like the vibe, but we will most likely stick to Yama because nothing here really blew us away.

Yelp
This is my favorite, go-to sushi spot in Baltimore. Their sushi is all very fresh and delicious. I've ordered their sashimi special several times and it has been consistently fresh and delicious. Their rolls are also very tasty, the volcano roll is my favorite. Of note, I've only done take-out and delivery and have found that the food holds up well.

Yelp
Tried out Chiyo for carry out for the first time... Tried a few simple rolls (Philadelphia and Salmon), one special roll (Nate) & seaweed salad. Everything was yummy. Will definitely be back! Side note: The parking lot is very small and not convenient.

Yelp
Hands down the Best Japanese restaurant in the Baltimore area. The quality of their ingredients is always top notch, their fish is the highest quality and the taste is exceptional. I recommend champion roll, uni shooter, and age tofu.... the three things that we always order every time we visit this restaurant. If you're in the area, pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
YUM! Wow. I think I can agree this is some of the best sushi in all of Baltimore. If not the best. I had their sashimi lunch special (comes with side of rice, miso soup & salad), all for $12. So if you're talking about ways to make this place affordable, deff go for lunch. I also had their Orioles roll - and mmmmmm!!! SUCH FRESH FISH. They have so many options for rolls, so whatever mood you're in you can find your roll. I enjoyed every single bite and will definitely be returning time and time again. Thanks so much!

Yelp
I came here a couple of years ago and now recently only rediscovered them. Their big sushi platter is very simple, tasty and reasonably priced and can be ordered with brown rice. And they have uni! Nom Nom Nom. They are a small place and only do take out these days. I ordered pickup from them last night and am already thinking about my next order.

Yelp
Honestly, I don't know yet whether or not the food is good because I was harassed in the parking lot by some lady who claimed she owned a business there and said I was parked in "her" spot. (FitChicks?) I pulled into the Chiyo parking lot in what I thought was a reserved spot for the restaurant, next to all the spaces reserved for Chiyo customers. Before I got out of the car, I realized I didn't have my purse and noticed there was a sign that said "for FitChicks customers". So I attempted to pull out and leave, but someone had just parked behind me. I thought it was just someone who didn't realize they were parking someone in, *because I'm an adult*. I got out of my car and knocked on her window and asked if she could please move her car so I could get out of the space. She snapped at me that she'd move "when she felt like it" because she owned the business on the sign and that I was in her spot. I said that if she moved, I could get out of her spot. Then she accused me of "getting smart with her" and she told me she'd move whenever she felt like moving, and maybe I should think about speaking to her more politely (??), then slammed the door. So I just got back in my car and waited for her to finish her little tantrum so I could leave. After about 15 minutes of holding me hostage there, she finally went away. Congratulations lady, I hope you feel better about yourself that you got to bully a stranger who accidentally parked in "your" spot for 2 minutes. I'm giving this place a couple stars because I don't really want to take it out on Chiyo that their neighbor is a petty bully, but she's chasing off your customers. I heard the food was good, that's why I came to try it in the first place, but I'm probably not going to bother after that. If you're trying to eat there and you're driving, make extra sure you don't accidentally step foot in a space that doesn't have a Chiyo sign unless you want to be "punished" by some patronizing overgrown child. Better yet, maybe just take the bus.

Yelp
Love in the time of the pendejovirus. Ok, let's be honest, we're all a little rattled. Get yourself some Chiyo sushi, unless you have a grade A place closer. My body is vibrating from something so good, and I didn't have to make it. Granted, I'm also pretty much 'Mad Hatter' at this point, but it was simply perfect. I didn't even order. I just asked 'em to do their thing. Of all the wonderful things, the squid and octopus (and maybe other seafood) salad was the most magical. One block walking distance from the light rail in fabulous, scenic Mt. Washington. Also, all the bars are open.

Yelp
10/10. I came to this spot for a date night with my friend. It didn't disappoint the service was very good everyone was knowledgeable about the items and selection. The rolls were delicious. The Lesley roll is a must it's very flavorful and it has peppered tuna that is tasty. I can't wait to come back and try some of the appetizers next time.
