Taco Moro Opens With Halal Quesabirria Tacos in Lakeview and More Chicago Restaurant and Bar Openings | Eater Chicago

"A fast-casual chicken spot from WGCI DJ Mike P serving a focused menu of chicken tenders, fries, and multiple sauce and seasoning options (spicy Buffalo, lemon pepper, mild sauce), served in a shoebox as a nod to the historical shoebox lunches used by some Black Americans during the Jim Crow era." - Naomi Waxman

I can honestly say the wings were delicious. I like small wings, so I was pleased with the size of the wings. The fries were fresh and hot. I had the 24 gold and the hot honey, and both were delicious. I also tried the tenders, and those were my least favorite. I will be back again just to see if they're consistent with the flavors and the freshness of the food.

We went to visits the tower formerly known as Sears and stumbled upon this great find. Within walking distance of the Willis tower! A tiny store front that packs plenty of flavor!!! The home made pezy juice was amazingly flavorful and refreshing. The hot honey which was recommended by the cook was so good I had to stop by for seconds on my way home.

First time visiting Chkn Box Chi- I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. The owner, Mike P was outside and very pleasant! One word: FYE! Delicious! I ordered Fake Nuggets w/ Peezy Juice (breaded cauliflower) & fries; hot honey sauce & lemon pepper. - worth the money 😋. I’ll be back! Nice vibe, small stand-up dining area, good customer service!

Food was fantastic and cooked to perfection. The chicken wings are flavorful inside and out. The hot honey sauce is to die for. I literally have only great things to say about this place. The staff were pleasantly nice and the cook helped me decide on best options for me based on my palate. Overall, I highly recommend Chkn Box! Can’t wait for more locations around Chicago.

Nice concept. A lot of hype due to the owner. Saw some of the cast from The Chi while waiting for my food. I know it is downtown so it will be pricier than if it wasnt. The chicken did seem like they were frozen tenders from costco or sams club. Some of them were more breading than actual chicken. 3 tenders & fries will probably not fill you up and might make you feel like it wasnt enough for $12. Still too new so it can only improve. Will check it out again in the future to see if any changes are made to what I thought were areas if improvement.

Yo, if you're cruising through the Loop and craving some bomb fried chicken, you gotta hit up CHKN Box. This spot's got that hip-hop vibe, and the chicken? Straight fire. I grabbed the 6-piece wings with that Hot Honey sauce, and those tenders were on another level. Service was mad quick, and the folks running the truck are chill. A meal'll run you about $15, but trust, it's worth every penny. Plus, they roll around different spots, so follow their socials to catch 'em near you.

Seeing the owner (on Daytime Chicago this morning) with her perfectly manicured nails. Cutting, seasoning, flouring and frying chicken without gloves, truly sets up bacteria under her nails into one’s food!

Rolled up to CHKN BOX in the South Loop and snagged an order of hot honey tenders plus a pan of fries and a limeade, ran me about $18. Chicken was crispy, sauce was legit, fries hit the spot. Owner was chill, vibing with customers while cooking was a bit slow since they were busy. Definitely solid chicken that’ll pull me back, even if it’s not top‑tier.
