14 Best Restaurants In Bellevue’s Bel-Red Neighborhood | Eater Seattle

"This recently opened Eastside outpost of the Cho Dang Tofu chain specializes in the volcanic, bubbling Korean delicacy of sundubu: custard-like soft tofu served in a superheated stone dish with any number of broths, meats, vegetables, and other ingredients. Cho Dang Tofu offers 14 sundubu varieties, from the classic mushroom soup to the gopchang sundubu that comes with small strips of chewy, saucy tripe. Accompanying banchan include fried mackerel and a luxurious gamja (potato) salad served from a cart that roams around the restaurant." - Brett Bankson

The restaurant is really clean and nice, feels fancy but the price is reasonable, food comes fast and delicious. Staffs seen not very friendly but they are actually very sweet and helpful (if you familiar Korean family restaurant you will understand). We went there for dinner around five so it’s still kind of empty but after 5:30 the restaurant gets busy really fast. We ordered the combo 2 and bibimbap, and they both so yummy, flavorful, and we still have a lot leftover for next day.

I recently visited Cho Dang Tofu and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. I ordered the Seafood Tofu Soup, which arrived bubbling hot in a stone pot, along with a bowl of rice and a piece of fried fish. As expected from a good Korean tofu house, the meal also came with a set of four banchan side dishes, and the staff were more than happy to offer refills—always a nice touch. The portions were very generous for the price, making the meal feel both hearty and satisfying. The tofu soup itself was rich, flavorful, and comforting, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. On top of that, the staff were friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the visit. If you’re looking for good tofu soups at a reasonable price, I’d definitely recommend giving Cho Dang Tofu a try!

Google
This is hands down the best soon tofu restaurant in Seattle! In LA there’s BCD Tofu House, in San Jose there’s Jang Su Jang, and in Seattle we have Chodang Soon Tofu. But make sure to come to the Bellevue location it’s the one that tastes the best. I’ve been coming here for almost 4 years, and except for maybe once or twice, the taste has always been consistent. I’ve seen many different staff members over the years, but Eddie is by far the best. He has the perfect timing when it comes to checking in, refilling side dishes, and making sure you have everything you need. He’s also very kind and attentive. The soon tofu is amazing, but honestly, Eddie is the reason we want to keep coming back to the Bellevue location even though it’s a bit of a drive from our home.

Google
My absolute FAVORITE Korean restaurant! They used to have multiple locations in Federal Way & Great Wall. Now that those closed, I'd travel any distance to come here. No other soonduboo around compares and it's one of the rare korean restaurants not using the bathroom as an extra closet. Pro tip - if you are Korean, ask for the off menu Extra Extra Spicy!

Google
2025 Cho Dong Tofu is one of the most delicious Korean restaurants in the area. The service is always friendly, and the food is amazing. We especially love the Korean BBQ and the wide variety of tofu soups. The small fish and side vegetables served as starters are a wonderful bonus.

Google
I really wanted to like this place, especially after reading recent positive reviews, but unfortunately that wasn’t our experience. I ordered the seafood knife-cut noodle soup, which was described as having shrimp, mussels, clams, squid, and cuttlefish in a seafood broth. I expected a hearty seafood soup, but what I got looked more like seafood that had babies — tiny, sad little versions of what they were supposed to be. The noodles were overcooked and gummy, and for $21.99, I expected much better quality and portion. My husband’s tofu soup was bland, and the galbi was tough and lacked flavor. As for the reviewer who compared this place to BCD in Los Angeles—it's not even close.

Google
First time here to try their mushroom tofu soup and roe tofu soup. Pretty good here wish they have more side dishes. Definitely will come back to try other dishes. Great service and reasonable price.

Google
I usually come here for tofu soup, and it is good. Why do you even make this haemul-kalguksu menu, priced $21, and its worse than the frozen package that I can buy from korean grocery stores. Dont think of even trying this. If the owner sees this, please remove. What a waste of money and stomach.

Yelp
Great Korean Tofu Soup spot! Fair price. Very hot food. Complimentary sides are solid and are refilled quickly. Awesome, quick service every visit. Especially my last visit! Jonathan moved so fast and efficiently and was super attentive! He's working hard enough for two people! Give that man a raise! And give him a stellar letter of recommendation for his next job!

Yelp
Service was really fast on a Saturday night and our waiters were great about banchan refills. Very efficient too! FOOD: They have a new item that's not on their menu yet- two actually- descriptions are posted in the restaurant. They're attached to this review. We got the chicken thighs bulgogi with seafood tofu soup combo. The chicken thighs had good savory flavor and were cooked to perfection but a bit on the salty side. Seafood tofu soup was perfect- hefty portions of tofu, flavorful fresh shrimp, clams, and oyster, not over salted. We also got a hot stone bibimbap. The rice was so crunchy and the vegetables were perfectly seasoned and cooked! Not oily and was almost flavorful enough without the gochujang they provided. Banchan- I liked their cucumbers, kimchi, and bean sprouts, but the fried fish and fish cakes were too oily/salty for my liking. Perfectly cooked though. Barley tea was delicious. 10/10 that's all there is to say about it. Overall, if you're going to come here look to spend $15-$25 unless you get a combo, in which case it's more but would likely be split between a few people (I hope). A chill establishment with k-pop on the speakers, fast service and well-priced, good food. Not bad!

Yelp
We had the LA Galbi and the Kimchi Tofu Soup, and they're probably one of the best of their genre in greater Seattle. Their service was impeccable and I don't think my tea glass was ever below halfway. They're also very attentive about refilling side dishes. 5 Stars: Good food complemented by their fantastic service and a fair price.

Yelp
We have driven by the place a million times without really paying attention. It is in a nondescript corner of a little retail area. For Mother's Day, I really wanted Korean food so we finally tried it! The place was packed on a Sunday night. Still, we didn't wait long and were served right away. The portions are large! The prices are a little more than other places in the area but the larger portions may justify that. Everything we ate was delicious. The spice level was just right. Good, reliable Korean standards.

Yelp
Cho Dang Tofu is a chain of Korean tofu restaurants that is similar to BCD. I have been to a BCD maybe twice long time ago, so I won't compare. They are kind of fast-food Korean with a simplified menu, but also seems to have everything I want. The interior is clean-lines and minimalist. The service was swift and no-fuss. Full disclosure that prior to coming here, I already read up that the combo meals are spendy, and their prices are higher than Lynnwood and Federal Way. Honestly, not a surprise for a Bellevue address. I knew what I was walking into, so I won't ding them for cost. Nakdol Bibimbap, $19.99 - 4 Stars Menu: Crispy Rice served with Diced Kimchee and Spicy Marinated Octopus in a Hot Stone Bowl This is the dish that will bring me back. It is a thing of beauty. The seasoning is potent and impeccable. The presentation is beautiful. The crispy rice is amongst the best I have ever seen. Separate photo provided. Dolsot Bibimbap, $19.99 - 4 Stars Menu: Crispy Rice served with Sauteed Vegetables, Beef, and Egg in a Hot Stone Bowl This is the standard version that most places offer. Theirs meet expectations. Theirs cost $2 to $4 more than further places. Banchan - minimalist with two standouts - saba fried fish and the daikon soup. Both are favs that are rarely served. Bravo!

Yelp
Cho Dang Tofu has been on my list to try for quite some time, and I'm glad to check this place off! There really isn't a good list of Korean restaurants on Eastside that have affordable prices for they quality of food, but I think Cho Dang Tofu is definitely one of the better options on Eastside. We paid Cho Dang a visit on a Friday around 7pm and had no wait time to get seated. Cho Dang Tofu is located in the shopping plaza of a nearby Safeway, making parking accessible to the restaurant. During busy times of the restaurant, you may have to park in the shopping lot and walk over. The ambiance of the restaurant is sit down - the restaurant does do takeout orders, but the restaurant itself is cozy and has a decent amount of indoor seating options. I got the Nakdol Bibimbap, which came with some delicious banchan. The banchan consisted of a small fried fish, a wintermelon (? could also be radish) soup bowl, and small dishes of kimchi and fish cake. These dishes were delicious - the fish was fried to a pleasing crispiness, the soup had a comforting and subtle flavor, and the kimchi served as an excellent palate cleanser. As a plus, you can also ask your server for more of the kimchi/fish cake banchan too! For the Nakdol bibimbap, I would say that Cho Dang Tofu is generous when it comes to portioning - this was a hefty bowl of rice and octopus. As a heads up, as good as the flavor was, texture and taste does start to get a bit monotonous after eating half of the bowl. But there is a strong spice flavor and plenty of crispy rice, which is great. The Nakdol Bibimbap by itself is $20, which I think is a pretty solid price given the service and amount of food received. I personally think that in terms of Korean food on Eastside, Cho Dang is one of the more affordable options. I would definitely like to revisit in the future to try their other options (4.5 stars)

Yelp
Ambience - 3.5 stars Food - 2 stars Cost - $$$ Service - 3.5 stars The food was okay but not worth the price. I like spicy food but the food I ordered was too bland. I ordered their seafood noodle knife soup (2 stars) , pork bulgogi bibimpbap (3 stars) , chicken bulgogi and vegetable japchae. Just based on food and cost it is a 2 star. But the service and ambience deserves a star upgrade. Although I do see a lot of Asian folks dining here so may be it is just a new flavor of the Korean food I have become used to.

Yelp
Where do I even begin with this place? It never misses! This is my ultimate comfort food spot. I mostly in my life have gone to the Kent location of Jang Soo Tofu (not sure how these locations are affiliated, but they do have the same menu). I love this location as well and the tofu soup is my favorite by far of any Korean restaurant I've gone to in Washington. The service is always very good. :)

Yelp
This place is so good- I never thought that tofu soup would taste any different from one Korean restaurant to another but this one just knocks it out of the park. You can determine your own spicy level and the soup base is so flavorful. I got the dumpling soup and the dumplings tasted homemade. The banchan was also really good and they came with this fish banchan too that I was excited for. The kalbi is pretty standard - I would say that the shining star at this restaurant is this tofu soup and happy to say that I look forward to coming back. All of the waiters were really attentive and would openly ask you if you wanted a refill on banchan which I appreciated.

Yelp
Cho Dang Tofu has been recommended by several of my family friends and so my family and I decided to give it a try one weeknight. Even on a weeknight though, the restaurant was PACKED with people, most who were of Korean ethnicity (which is always a good sign when trying a new Korean restaurant). Thankfully, they were able to seat us within about 15 minutes after arriving. Their menu is extremely extensive, but they do have many tofu soup (soondubu) varieties, which is what they're known for. They also have galbi (Korean short ribs), daegi (spicy Korean BBQ pork) and bulgogi (grilled marinated beef) as well as acorn noodles and different bibimbaps (rice dishes). My family ordered the BULGOGI and OYSTER TOFU SOUP (mild) combo, the DOLSOT BIBIMBAP, and the HAEMUL PAJEON (seafood pancake). You get one banchan (with unlimited refills) per dish. The banchan included kimchi, sesame sprouts, cucumber kimchi, fish cake, and fish cake. They also served a fried fish that was very bony (almost like a mackerel but without the excessive fishy taste) and a small scoop of potato salad (which was my least favorite as it wasn't sweetened). Even though it was super busy, we got our food within 15 minutes and all at once. The BULGOGI and DOLSOT BIBIMBAP were still sizzling loudly and the OYSTER TOFU SOUP was bubbling hot when they were served. THE BULGOGI was alright. It honestly needed to be marinated longer as it lacked the deep caramelized soysauce mix sugar flavor, but the meat was hot and tender. The DOLSOT BIBIMBAP was very good. It had all the usual vegetables including spinach, carrots, sprouts, mushroom, and zucchini. The rice was also super crispy in the stone pot and the egg melted perfectly into the dish. The waitress even poured in some hot tea to get the final bits of rice that were stuck to the dish. With a side of gochujang sauce drizzled on top, it was perfection. The OYSTER TOFU SOUP was excellent, and probably the best of all the dishes. It had large pieces of oyster and lots of tofu. The mild really wasn't spicy at all (you never know with Korean dishes), and so we would probably try at least a medium next time- the spice ranged from "no spice" to "extra spicy"). Even though it wasn't spicy, it was bursting with seafood flavor. No wonder their tofu soup is their signature dish! The HAEMUL PAJEON was also just okay. I've definitely had fluffier and crispier pancakes in the past. Regardless, the pancake had a decent amount of seafood and green onion. The dipping sauce was good too. Service was fantastic. Even with the dinner rush, the servers came by to refill our banchan and water multiple times. They were also super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is clean, just crowded. But the tables were spaced far enough away from each other so it wasn't claustrophobic. Overall, 4/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

Yelp
Tofu soup is pretty noteworthy here. Was visiting from out of town, and in my opinion better than most spots in LA. Def come here if you're craving tofu soup.

Yelp
If you need a quick fix of Korean food in Bellevue, this is a decent option with a limited menu. However, you're paying for the convenience of the location, not necessarily the quality of the food. The restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived and didn't get much busier (which wasn't a good sign). I ordered the dolsot bibimbap and my friend ordered a soondubu and both were ok, but not the best we've had. Service was attentive, and a cart would come around to refresh the banchan or refill your tea, which was convenient. I probably won't return here, but it was worth a try!

Yelp
My go-to spot if I'm in the mood for tofu stew on the east side! The side dishes are refillable and so yummy (my favorite is the mashed potato, definitely because of the mayo lol). I also LOVE the fried fish it comes with, but sometimes it's not as crispy as I'd want it to be.
google avatar

Yelp
A comforting bowl of hot tofu soup on a cold day makes for a delicious meal. This location is pretty big and parking is easy to find in the lot. There is lots of seating in this restaurant and staff is welcoming and friendly. I got their mushroom tofu soup mild. I should have gotten the medium spice level because the soup was good but not as flavorful as I'm used to at other tofu houses. I was also a little sad that it didn't include the egg. This is the first tofu house I've been to that doesn't do the included egg. I do appreciate that their banchan is tasty and also comes with a fried fish. Rice was delicious and perfectly cooked and they serve tea. In my opinion, this spot is a little pricier than I'm used to back in California but the food is solid and service is great. I would definitely come again to satisfy my tofu soup craving.

Yelp
Clean atmosphere & friendly staff. Located right next to mud bay in Bellevue area. We normally get to go from here after we stop at Mud Bay, but in our most recent visit we dined in and got the Dolsot Bibimbap, Budae Jjigae, Mixed Tofu Soup! The banchan was delicious, they give you a little fried fish which wasn't too salty, but watch out for tiny bones! My favorite is the Korean bean spouts & cucumbers! Unlimited banchan with dining in which is nice! In the past we have gotten the combos, pretty decent value if you're sharing. I like their Kalbi & Bulgogi combos (A & B on the menu). Overall, super yummy, authentic, decently priced and greet service.

Yelp
Great place for soondubu on the eastside!! This place is perfect on a rainy day, there is plenty of parking and the restaurant has a very clean ambiance. The workers are quite friendly as well. The soup itself is pretty good, but I wish it was spicier. My friend's soup, which she got extra spicy, was barely spicy at all. The banchan is delicious, and the workers regularly come by and give you refills of them. The best part of the meal is at the end; when you finish the rice and only have the crunchy rice left stuck to the bowl, ask a worker to fill it up with barley tea and you can loosen the crunchy rice and eat it as a snack or with the leftover soup! Overall, a very satisfying meal experience, but a little pricy.

Yelp
I am a big time kimchi tofu soup/jiggae stew. Decided to come here to try as recommended by friends for lunch. First glance at the menu, a pretty good selection of items, such as soups, sides bibimbap etc you would expect from a korean place. I went with the combo that has a hot plate meat and a tofu soup of your choice. Got the Kalbi which is caramelized well, tasted decent but nothing pops. The tofu soup I got was the mixed tofu soup which has some seafood in it. You get to customize how spicy do you like it but I got mild just to try it. Wow, the soup literally tasted bland, majority of them is tofu and probably a total of leas than 5 items of seafood (tiny shrimps and some clams). That's it and $40 pre tax...... The service is decent as we got seated pretty fast as it was just before the lunch peak hours. The restaurant is nice and clean inside but definitely a little cold. The server came by to fill up our ban chan twice but the serving is very small with each refill.. Overall, a very mid experience for a relatively expensive menu. There are better spots elsewhere imo..
google avatar

Domovoi D.

Yelp
Solid authentic Korean food, no complaints! Love the stoneware rice that comes with soondubu. Staff are super attentive, refilling banchan frequently, and service is fast and friendly. They seem to be environment friendly- refilling banchan depending on which ones you enjoy more, so food doesn't go to waste. They use smaller banchan dishes, not taking up table space and less dishwashing. They're less "Americanized" than most K restaurants around, 5 starts.

Yelp
I really like Cho Dang Tofu Korean Resto, it is tasty and the CS Skill is indeed superiors. I wish the portion would have Kimchi Soup rather than Radish Soup but it is okay. Big Boss Richard & Oppa Bosa do take care of the customers and have very good hearts. I will try the Tofu Soup laterrrrr, this place is a much try, typical Korean Soul right in Bellevueee, WA. ‍‍‍‍‍‍ Also I do not take any credit from them to do the reviews, this is truly what I feel, if u disagree... Yelp
TL;DR: Kalbi is tender and tasty. Unlimited side dishes. Parking: small private lot. Atmosphere: typical asian-style restaurant with booth seating Service: wait to be seated, you will be watered, bill brought to you, Menu: One page menu on printed on legal sized paper. Colorized menu with photos. Sides: unlimited sides come with your meal, including: beansprout salad, kimchi, potato salad, and spicy pickled cucumber. Wait staff is pretty attentive on when you are getting low. Fish Roe Tofu Soup: the flavor was good but the fish roe was severely overcooked -- was not soft at all and was tough and brittle to bite into. Kalbi: very tasty and on the sweet side. The beef was very tender. A great dish to share!

Vicky U.

Yelp
Food and all the workers were awesome! They work hard by continuously walk around to tables to ask if they need anything or to refill the side dishes! I've been here 3 times now and have brought different people each time and it's been great every time! Keep up the good work & make sure to pay your employees well!
google avatar

Julie T.

Yelp
SO GOOD! Highly recommend! I ordered the beef tofu soup, mild. The side dishes all tasted great, I love their bean sprouts. Oh! The fish that comes with the soup, was crispy and had lots of flavor. All the employees were attentive and were super nice. The restaurant was spacious and had lots of seatings. Parking was super easy.

Yelp
Came here on random weekday for dinner. The inside of the restaurant is clean and has a modern feel. Immediately when you sit down there are paper menus that also act as placemats! I ordered the bibimbap and my partner ordered the seafood soondubu, both items were around $18-$20. The food was good, but my partner and i agreed it lacked umami and overall flavor. I would've thought the fishes to pack a bit more of flavor but was slightly underwhelmed. Nothing bad, but I personally wasn't wow-ed by the entrees. The real stars were the side dishes in the cute trays! I haven't personally seen a whole fried mackerel at too many Korean restaurants in Washington so it's definitely a treat when we see this! In addition to the fish, there was also kimchi, kimchi cucumber, bean sprouts and potato salad. All very good. What I love about this place is that the sides are unlimited and the waiters are always asking if you need a refill on any sides. This is so appreciated because sometimes you know you get judged for asking for a 4th round of cucumbers, but not here!! A true rating would be more of a 3.5/5 stars but it's a good place for a casual dinner and who can turn down unlimited sides? Was a nice experience and will likely come back as this is a nice Korean place near me.
google avatar

Steven Z.

Yelp
Oh my GOSH this soondubu is absolutely amazing. If I lived closer, I would come here so often. The banchan includes a full grilled mackerel which is an excellent start to the meal. I've tried the seafood, pork, and intestine tofu soups. The flavors are nicely balanced. The intestine one has a certain creaminess and umami to it, highly recommend! The rice also comes in a stone pot. Great for delicious charred rice at the end, or a rice/tea broth if that's up your alley

Yelp
This place is my favorite Korean spot in Bellevue!! The food is always solid and such great pricing. Truly a bang for your buck! The service is fast and the waiters are always coming around very generous with banchan refills! I love all the options on the menu and the combos are really awesome. It gets packed but the space is big so great for big meet ups & very lively atmosphere.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Cho-dang has perfected soft tofu soup. You have unlimited ban-chan (side dishes), see photos below. Ate seafood spicy soup, kalbi & hot stone bi bim bap. Spicy seafood todu had plenty of seafood & you can customize the spice level. Kalbi portion was huge & meat tender which is served on an iron plate. Stone bibimbap has plenty of vegetables & can also customize the spice level. Sauces are delicious & loved the fish (croaker) as an appetizer. Rice with tofu soup Comes in a hot clay stone where you scoop the rice in a bowl & can make 누릉지 sticky burn rice soup on the stone dish. You won't be disappointed with their food. Servers are friendly & very attentive. There's plenty of parking spaces in the strip mall. Ambience is clean, welcoming & busy during meal hours. Bring your patience & expect to wait for your table. I highly recommend Cho-Dang tofu restaurant in Bellevue. Hope you get to visit & dine there soon. Bon appetite!

Yelp
Another restaurant (sit-in turns Togo only restaurants) employee suggests us to come to this one. We went in as a big 8-9 people group. Everyone loves the foods that they ordered. Service is 5/5 Prices is in a normal range for Korean foods. Location is great. Located in a plaza with large parking lot. Foods: 4-5 banchan items with unlimited refill for vegetables items.

Katrina C.

Yelp
Overall great restaurant for comfort Korean food! We ordered the combo tofu soup and kalbi beef short ribs for $40. Pretty good portions and food was flavorful. We did get 4 stars spicy and it wasn't very spicy at all. It comes with banchan and the servers frequently came by to ask whether we wanted refills.
google avatar

Lydia X.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends because we were craving soondubu and this spot definitely scratched the itch. It was super authentic and the soup was flavored so well. Perfect for a cold day! The service was also pretty quick, and we got seated right away even though we went on a friday night. Overall this is such a comfort meal and I loved the experience!
google avatar

Louisa H.

Yelp
I ordered the beef tofu soup, non spicy. When they say non spicy, they really meant it. I've never seen my non-spicy tofu soup be a pure white before. It wasn't bad by any means, I was just a little surprised. I tasted my partner's medium spice tofu soup, and it was just barely spicy. So if you're the type to be cautious of spice, I wouldn't sweat it (literally) at this spot. They give you four side dishes in a small platter. Wish the platter itself is bigger, because we found ourselves constantly asking for refills. There two things that make this place stand out though! First is that they give you a whole small fried fish as part of your order. Next is they give you your rice in a sizzling pot and offer to fill it with hot tea after!
google avatar

Ms. A.

Yelp
I dined in few times so far and I love their food and service. All servers are very attentive and they come and fill small dishes and fill tea/water often. Restaurant is always busy but we get seated quickly. I usually get same dish (mushroom tofu soup,) so I would like to try different menu next time.
google avatar

Sally L.

Yelp
The restaurant is very big and you will be seated pretty immediately. I have never had to wait when I come here. They give everyone individual banchan dishes which is nice of you come in a work setting since you don't have to share side dishes with others. I always get the tofu soup, but the bibimbap is also good and popular. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're craving something filling and warm. The portion sizes are very big!

Yelp
A Solid Korean restaurant in Bellevue finally! Probably the best ever (in Bellevue). Unlike Cho Dang's other locations, the Bellevue location feels a bit more upscale and is much cleaner inside. The space is very big and it filled up quite quickly when my friends and I visited (Sunday mid-morning). Service is good and food is above average as well. Prices are pretty ridiculously expensive for what it is but hey, I am just glad we finally have a decent / above average Korean restaurant on the Eastside. I recommend the combo. It is expensive but you really get the best experience imo. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised they serve intestine soon tofu. If you're into stuff like this, it's a must try here. 4 stars for food, 4.25 stars for service, 3 stars for price.

Yelp
A little piece of home located in Bellevue, perfect for those cold nights where you need a warm meal to fill your stomach. This was my first time here and as soon as I walked in, I noticed the traditional Korean ambience, with sounds of all my aunties speaking amongst customers. Once you place your order, the food is brought out fairly quickly, alongside your banchan (side dishes) The first thing I noted was how small the portions were for the side dishes (we're talking Michelan star plating small) but, I realized that they are diligent about coming around and refilling them as needed. Tofu dishes are also accompanied by the traditional fish on the side I came here with a mission, to try their intestine tofu soup, and that is exactly what I ordered. It was served bubbling in the traditional stone bowl, alongside the rice that was also served in the dolsat (stone) bowl. Pro tip- when you get your rice, they'll also bring you a empty bowl. This is so you can scoop your rice into the bowl, and then they pour barley tea into the stone bowl, so you can scrape the scorched rice from the sides and bottom of that bowl to enjoy (this is called noo-roong-jee) Tofu soup was delicious, flavorful, and the intestine was cooked nicely so there was no gamey scent whatsoever. I went with "medium spice" and it was plenty spicy and I tolerate spice very well so be forewarned! They do also have other dishes on their menu in addition to tofu soup and I look forward to trying those out! Overall it was a great meal, friendly and attentive staff, and definitely a new go to spot for all of my tofu soup cravings!

Yelp
This place is a must go to. The food was delicious and the service was even better. I also like the fact that the restaurant is very clean and bright. The waiters are always asking if you need a refill on Banchan without you having to ask. Their stone pot Bibimbap and rice is amazing. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
Cho Dang Tofu specializes in Korean soonbdubu, and it's busy for good reason as the food is decent and the space is clean, bright and inviting. The soondubu itself is good but there was no egg. They have a no spice version which I actually like though. Pricing though is a bit high, with a standard tofu being almost $20 and $40 if you add a side of Kalbi. Banchan quality is good but the selection is pretty meager. But the cleanliness and efficient service are both good draws, and I would probably come back.

Yelp
When I'm in the mood for a nice hearty bowl of soondubu, Cho Dang is always my first choice. I like to order their ham and sausage soondubu with mild heat. It's the perfect amount of flavor and spice for me and is just so comforting to eat. I also really like their galbi, it pairs so well with the soondubu and is a little on the fattier side but so flavorful. Their banchan is yummy and the staff are very attentive and good about refilling them often. The potato is my favorite and I usually ask for several scoops at a time, which they are happy to do for you if you ask. The inside of the restaurant is spacious but can fill up quickly, and they usually have Kpop playing which creates a lively atmosphere. I always leave Cho Dang happy and full and am glad to have a good soondubu spot on the Eastside.

Yelp
This is the best soondubu place I've been to on the Eastside. The price for the soondubu itself is not as high as some other places, and you get the same quantity of food and a way more authentic "Korean restaurant" feeling - although maybe that's the tiny fried fish talking lol. Said fried fish started off our meal nicely. I got the fish roe tofu soup combo with kalbi and the soup was good but not GREAT. I wish it had a little more depth - the flavor was good but not very strong. The kalbi was good - not too sweet - but we got really fatty cuts with the giant bone so the bone-to-meat ratio was kind of sad. Considering the price of the soup with and without the combo it's still not a bad deal though. You could get away with ordering a combo and an extra soondubu or other main to fill out a nice meal for two. Okay so far my review has made this place seem kind of mid but at this point it was slightly higher than mid for me - which is already pretty high for Korean restaurants in this area TBH. The thing that really sets this place above the others is the banchan - side dishes. Koreans know that the quality of a restaurant's kimchi is a big indicator of how quality the restaurant is in general. The kimchi was great - like what my mom makes at home. The cucumber kimchi was bomb and they had potato salad - my fav so this may be biasing my review lol. They give you side dishes for ants - pretty much two bites of everything - but just flag the banchan cart down and they'll refill. Good way to reduce waste! Overall I def recommend.

Yelp
This place was so awesome! I would say they are the best banchan experience I've ever had. They come by with the carts and consistently offer refills during your meal! All the flavors were excellent and you get a fried fish as well which was tough to debone but delicious! They do have a vegetarian option for the soft tofu soups so you can get a water base if you request it. The mushroom one was good but I will do more spicy next time! Seafood pancake was the stand out! The fresh seafood in there was next level with so many mussels and squid and shrimp! They cut it in front of you with scissors and it was soo crispy! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Pros: good service, we were offered refill on banchan many times, plenty seating, easy parking Cons: small portion for the price charged (because it's Bellevue?), food tastes decent but I've had better Korean food in PNW

Yelp
Came here right after grocery shopping to grab an early lunch. Got here right when they opened and got seated right away, they proceeded to fill up very quickly. Nice to see it's a popular spot. Service was friendly and fast. We got two stone bibimbap bowls and a fish roe tofu soup. Love the individual banchans and fried fish appetizer. The tofu soup came with its own rice in a stone pot. The food was hot and delicious. Loved that they came around to refill banchan fairly regularly. I do think the stone bibimbap was pricey but definitely had a good amount of food. The restaurant was clean and had nice modern touches. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Yelp
Here is an honest review from a Korean who grew up in Korea around great Korean food their whole life! First of all, the location is great. Very convenient with a big QFC next to it, as well as happy lemon (boba store) to finish off for dessert. The service is a 20/10 here. The servers are amazingly friendly, nice, and welcoming. Another unique food items they offer is the famous Korean "Ban-Chan" also known as which are: kimchi 10/10, bean sprouts 10/10, korean style pickled cucumber (haven't tried bc i don't like cucumber) , potato salad 9/10. It is UNLIMITED and you can ask for a refill as much as you want, any time you want! the tofu soups are served in a traditional korean (jji-gae) bowl which keeps the dish warm throughout your meal. It is cooked to perfection where the soft tofu and spicy soup compliment each other so well! ~ TIP: ask for an egg and put it in your soup. this is how Koreans usually eat it and it's delicious~ Their bibimbap is also so so yummy! The portion is PERFECT for 1-2 and has so much toppings in it. If you haven't tried any of the bibimbaps here, you're missing out. If you order a soup, they also serve you a complimentary rice dish with white rice in a korean traditional "" stone-pot? where you can finish the rice and pour warm tea in it to make noo-roong-ji. Kind of like crispy rice in warm water, almost like porridge but the rice is more firm- rather than soggy. It is a great experience for those who are curious. I definitely recommend this restaurant :)

Yelp
Excellent service. My first time here and the server was so nice he recommended the bibimbap served in hot stone bowl! It was an amazing experience! It was served in the hot stone bowl I can hear the food cracking at the bottom, and that part was an extra delight. They also served sides with the dish and a tofu soup. Clean & organized store. I was told it can be very busy in the weekends.

Yelp
I had some high expectations for this place, as the menu has one of the steepest prices I've seen for Korean food. However, the tofu soup that I ordered to be extra spicy was not spicy at all. Not the end of the world, but my rice was also over cooked and very mushy. Could be possible that my to go order resulted in the lid covering the rice for too long with no ventilation for the steam, but I wouldn't pay that amount again if this is what I'm getting. Their Korean bbq also goes for $44 and imo there are other Korean restaurants that charge less for better quality.

Yelp
It's O.K. It seems to be trying to copy the format of BCD Tofu House in the L.A. area (right down to the little fried fish appetizer) and largely succeeds, which is not a compliment in my book (I know there are plenty of people who love BCD but I'm not one of them!) Your first impression is likely to be concerned because they have an OKAY rating on posted on the front. There are some people who believe lower ratings like these are a badge of honor for comfort food establishments but I'm not one of them. So, I entered the place a bit pensively. The rest is typical sundubu-focused with many different types of soups to choose from, and the usual assortment of kalbi and bugolgi protein compliments. I chose standard kimchi tofu soup with beef and it was really bland. Kalbi and bulgogi meat was fine but nothing super special, and not good enough to recommend visiting for. Service was over-stretched and required a lot of hand waving to get someone over the help us.

Yelp
First time having dinner at restaurant with party of 6. They do not take reservations so we had to go their early. We ordered seafood soup, Kalbi, Jap Chae and Bibimbap. Ordered mild seafood soup. It was not very spicy. Should have ordered a 2 star. The banchan was in individual servings/ person. It also came with a fried mackerel. Serving was fair to moderate. Friendly staff. Took awhile to refill water/tea. Clean restaurant and well lit.

Yelp
Very clean restaurant, food quality and service are very good. Why not 5 stars? quite pricy perhaps the result of high inflation.

Yelp
Great restaurant! My group ordered the kimchi tofu soup, the mushroom tofu soup, and the stone pot bibimbop. All were absolutely delicious and we were so happy! The bibimbop sauce is fantastic and when I asked for my spice for my mushroom tofu soup, they gave me some extra spice to add to my soup. Awesome place.

Yelp
Cho Dang Tofu is a go-to whenever I'm craving soondubu or kimchi jjigae. It can get really busy, so I tend to come for an early dinner whenever possible. If you come during prime dinner hours, there is almost always a long wait. Service is overall decent, the servers are nice, but I think maybe they're understaffed. Expect to be needing to wave them down for any requests after ordering your meal. It can also get loud in the restaurant, so I wouldn't recommend going for a date night All in all, the food here is pretty solid. My one stipulation is that it is a bit on the pricey end for what you get (All entrees are $17+ and combos run for $36). I typically order the kimchi jjigae as I really love the variety of ingredients included, though I noticed the description says cheese and not once have I had cheese included with the dish. The portions are generous and you get a stone pot of rice with your soup. I always end up with leftovers! Another nice feature is the unlimited refills on banchan. A worker will periodically roll around a cart and refill whichever one you'd like as they get empty.
