Dong Ba Market

Came here to compare this market with Danang’s Han market. They’re different. This market sells dry and fresh food and due to the coming Lunar New Year it’s very crowded with lots of new year’s fruits, flowers and food. It’s bigger than I imagined. Worth coming here to absorb the local ambience - chatter and bargaining.

If you are in Huế this is a must visit. We call it the polite market because it’s very clean and well organised. So many things to see, food, fruits, clothes and local products. Easy to walk around and not stressful like other markets. Nice place to feel the city vibe.

There are so many stalls for everything. We found this nice couple Nguyen Thao’s stall with everything in a fair price. They were super nice, kind, and allowed me plenty of time to try and search online what everything is. I got some yummy local snacks, nuts, and local oil in the end. So happy to meet this nice couple owners. They’re just at the entrance of the no.14 gate/platform.

Dong Ba market blends the best of dry and wet markets here in Huế! It has everything you could want from delicious fruits and wholesome veggies to clothing and prepared food! If you are familiar with a palengke then you will feel at home here!

Great place to get an authentic local market experience. A whole host of things to buy and a section on the north end (relative to the suspension bridge) with many food stalls serving from 10am until close. Don’t let the reviews of hustling deter you, if you politely say no thank you and move on they let you be. Be clear what you want to buy and be prepared to haggle. Hustle is part of the culture.

Huge street market and most famous one in Hue. Very well kept and organised despite the huge amount of items you will find. I just wish the sellers were hustling us less, it felt way too overwhelming and we couldn’t decide where to eat or what to buy as we would get interrupted all the time in our train of thoughts 😥 also bumping prices whilst we speak vietnamese is a bit unpleasant…

The food section was fascinating and had a great variety. Upstairs the fashion was not great and westerners really get hassled to buy. Some nice fabrics

Authentic local market, we went on a Monday morning, under 1% tourists. There an upstairs which Sells clothing and material which can be access from stairs in the middle. A good place to practice your bargaining skills and try some local cuisine. The market has sections: kitchen ceramics, baskets weaving, shoes, nuts and grains, fresh flowers, food incense etc.
