Westfield London’s Restaurants: Where to Eat at Westfield White City | Eater London

"Just past the entrance to the market on Goldhawk Road is the relative newcomer Cho Sim. With some of the friendliest service in the neighbourhood and a seemingly permanent 2-for-£12 happy hour on cocktails, it also happens to serve superlative Korean comfort food in the form of fried chicken, toppoki, mandu, and pancakes. From the excellent pickles selection, make sure not to miss the suk ju namul, bean sprouts in sesame oil, which are far greater than the sum of their parts." - Kate Walker

I went to Cho Sim this evening always wanted to try this restaurant since I moved to the area recently. The staff was warm and welcoming, we got a table quickly they patiently took our order. The restaurant environment was lovely and bill was good for the amount of we ordered. We definitely recommend this restaurant. Definitely will revisit without a doubt.

Food was disappointing, either salty, bland or bad texture. Kimchi and kimchi pancake were great though, same with the customer service. Fried chicken, texture was stringy and dry. Beef rib soup, a lot of beef which were tender but soup was salty. It comes with rice. The rib eye BBQ was plain despite description saying it was seasoned with salt. Kimchi was great, probably home made. The kimchi pancake was crispy and not greasy.

I recommend this restaurant and would visit again. Really enjoyed having authentic korean food here. It's the closest my wife and I have had to the stews we ate in Korea. We loved the Budae Jigae (9/10) and liked the Yook Gae Jang (7.5/10). We thought the seafood pajeon was average (6.5/10). The flavour was different to all the ones we've had in Korea, but it was still decent and worth trying once. It's a shame there's no free banchan to accompany the meal. Perhaps they should have a minimum bill requirement and give banchan for people who are paying X amount. Atmosphere: We wished they played Korean music. There's a few Korean restaurants in New Malden that play Korean music and the atmosphere is just a bit better because of it. Drink: It's nice that they sell the canned grape drink (Haitai Grape Bon Bon). Although their markup is 2x for such a small can. (£3 Vs £1.50 in shops). Last time I had it was in Korea and very much missed it, which is why I just had to have it. Our order: Budae Ji Gae £14.50 Korea army stew serving with ramyun noodle and rice Yook Gae Jang £14.50 Spicy beef soup with spring onion, beanspout, glass noodle and egg Served with rice Seafood Pa Jeon £11.00 Traditional Korean pancake with spring onion and mixed seafood served with soy sauce Bon Bon Grape Juice £3.00 238ml

The food was amazing, the korean wings were boneless and the topokki sauce was flavourful while the actual rice cakes were cooked to perfection. would be better if there was another member of staff working as the service was slightly slow however the food came out very quickly

The staff at Cho Sim are attentive and friendly, providing prompt service without being intrusive. The restaurant's clean and minimalist design, combined with soft lighting, contributes to a relaxed dining environment. With most dishes priced between £10 and £15, Cho Sim offers good value for authentic Korean cuisine in London. Portion sizes are generous, ensuring guests leave satisfied. Cho Sim is a commendable spot for those seeking genuine Korean flavours in West London. The overall experience is positive, making it a restaurant worth visiting.

An average restaurant if you are looking mediocre, toned down Korean food paired with a Western playlist, but definitely not the "authentic taste of Korea" as advertised. (I'm Asian) Quite a disappointment, we ordered mixed fried chicken, LA short ribs and kimchi soup w rice. Food arrived fast but not too hot. Kimchi soup has the right amount of salt but lacking the sour and spicy from high quality kimchi. Fried chicken not too hot, so I suspect it is pre-fried and the chewiness of the batter agrees (see picture). It takes a strong arm and good chopstick skills to finish the mission. Beef was alright, I would say it's average good. I'm typing this, listening to Adele in the restaurant, looking at its tag line: The authentic taste of Korea. Not a Korean (my girlfriend is close enough), but enough to tell that it is not as expected.

Delicious Korean food, reasonable prices and really kind and helpful service. Would recommend booking as it got very busy around 6-7pm. Would definitely recommend and will come again

After 1.5 years we are back taking this wonderfully delicious Korean food. We are from Singapore. Thanks for having us today for dinner and we will come back again.

Just discover this new place in the neighborhood. The seaweed salad was fresh crunchy and spicy. Really enjoyed the Topokki as well. Maybe a little too sweet?
