Choco Bakery - Disrespect Disguised as Service
Let me start by saying: I don't write reviews unless the experience really deserves it. And Choco Bakery? Oh, it earned this one.
I came in and ordered multiple pastries--simple, right? Apparently not. What should've been a smooth transaction turned into me standing around awkwardly, waiting for a tray and a bag like I was asking for something outrageous. Common sense clearly isn't baked into their daily operations, because if someone orders more than one pastry, why do I have to beg for basic packaging?
But wait--what really got me was the attitude. The energy at that register was snippy, cold, and borderline hostile. And here's the kicker: after making me wait, the girl at the register had the audacity to apologize to the customer behind me for their wait. Ma'am, I was also waiting. I guess my time--and presence--didn't matter.
I hesitate to throw around heavy words, but let's call it what it felt like: racially charged microaggressions. This place sits in a predominantly white area, and it shows. I've seen how they treat customers who look like me--dismissive, cold, like we're a problem just for walking in. And trust, it's not a one-time mistake; it's a pattern. And it needs to stop.
Choco Bakery, do better. Because no matter how good your pastries might be, if the service is soaked in bias and disrespect, it leaves a bitter taste no frosting can cover up.
