Born and raised in Abilene and was a regular customer growing up. Went to the store with my s/o on 1/12/2023 and had a great experience and purchased some candy , obviously. 1/13/2023 I get a message from my s/o with a picture that I’ve provided, of expired candy. My s/o kept the bag to show me to decide if I would consider the candy expired or not… unfortunately it was. As an act of common decency we called their number to just notify them so they can take it off the shelf. My s/o began to let the old-man, who answered the phone, know about the situation and she was responded with absolute disregard and disrespect. The person said “I’ll look, but I don’t know what else you want me to do about.” The old-man responding this way gave us the impression that they do not care that they are selling expired candy to their customers. As someone that works in customer service, that is absolutely an unacceptable response to a customer that was just trying to reach out and notify the place of business…unfortunately will not be returning to this business again. Great candy place. Includes bulk and import items not available anywhere. Great price and service is very kind and helpful. Great for kids.

After reading all the reviews about the old guy, I had to come here immediately. Its a fun little store with a bunch of different candies, drinks, and snacks. They also have many types of truffles and other chocolates. You don't always know what someone else is going through. Even got the old guy to chuckle. Will definitely come back again.

I just went in there for the first time today. I had my kids with me. I was excited about the sodas they had a grabbed an arm full of them. My kids grabbed some too. We sat them down on the counter and the old man at the counter looked at us so rudely. Then I told him we would like to get some truffles. He look at me with such wide eyes and scoffed at me saying "really?" So we left without buying anything. Would have spent well over $50 if the old man wasn't so rude. I call to complain. The owner is his wife. She tried to say that he just wasn't feeling well today. I told her about the Google reviews and that I'm not the only one he treated that way. She didn't care and said I love him very much. Well that's nice but he can't treat people like that.

Best candy store in town, hands down. Fair prices and a lot of options. Like everyone else has stated, little old man is kinda rude. I normally just ignore the rudeness and don’t normally communicate extra when I’m buying anything, so maybe we just cancel each other out lol. It makes me upset though that he treats people who do care, badly. I would hate for my kid to go in there and be treated bad. I will say though that there is a younger guy who works there and I rarely ever see the older guy since they moved out of the old location in the hallway where Ulta is and the younger guy who I have seen is really cool and him and my husband get a long really well even though I’m quiet because of my anxiety. Now I’m going to pay attention to the older gentleman when I go in and if he’s rude I’ll let him know, politely, in front of everyone in the store. Maybe a bit of humility would do him good. It’s an awesome candy spot, but people will live without their sweets :)

I work in the mall and I come here very often. I am very polite everytime I come and have spent a good amount of money there too over time. But man the older gentleman is so so so rude and standoff-ish to everyone! No matter how nice you are! Great little shop, lots of stuff but the old man ruins the experience.

great candy, amazing treats, nice place but the old man at the front ruins the whole experience, he was completely rude and ignored 2 questions i asked. i told him i’d be paying with card to which he responds “i don’t care” and to try to lighten the mood i said have a great day to which he responds “mhm”. I thought it may be an off day for him and gave him the benefit of the doubt but then i got to talking with a much friendlier employee of the mall who says he has a reputation. If he’s an employee some one needs to teach him the basics of customer service at the very least, and if that’s the owner then do better. You are way to grown to be acting like my 4 year old niece.

The old man running the register is super rude. I asked him for a tube to get the pucker powder and he said "Okay, what size?" With the snarkiest attitude. Apparently, I was just to magically know how it works. To be fair, it was listed on the machine but, we hadn't been there before. How hard would it have been to simply be nice? In addition to that. He yelled at my 9 year old when she poured some out. We're talking about a $2 tube of flavored sugar. When I told him I should give it back to him he said "Well, give it back." So, I did. And, I'll never go back. What a miserable old man. He shouldn't be around children.
