I was really excited to visit Chocolate Manor, but found that there wasn't too much diversity in terms of merchandise. What they seem to have a lot of is chocolate molds, and while their chocolate is good it isn't exceptional, and chocolate shapes are boring.
We came in and browsed for awhile before placing our order. Chocolate Manor appears to do a bustling wedding reception business, as there was a strong wedding theme throughout the store in addition to catalogues sitting near the entrance. There were chocolate covered potato chips, caramel apples, truffles in a glass case, and molded chocolate galore. We eventually got into line and chose a few pieces of toffee, a peanut butter truffle, and a turtle. The toffee and turtle were pretty good, though something was off about the peanut butter in the truffle.
The dessert industry in the Quad Cities isn't huge, and Chocolate Manor fills a certain niche; however, I found that it was pretty mediocre and definitely lacked inventiveness.
