What Is Cacao? And How to Use It in Cooking | Eater

"A classic chocolateria best known for its churros paired with thick, rich hot chocolate—a traditional preparation that exemplifies how cacao is transformed into a dense, spiced beverage rather than a simple sweet snack." - Sylvio Martins

The Churros and chocolate is a specialty of this region and this legendary cafe specializes in it for almost 100 years. Loved the food and the ambiance, especially the pictures of the celebrities along the walls. It’s a fun place with a couple of different seating cafes of their own in the same square. So you are bound to find a spot in one of them for sure. Don’t miss this place on your trip to Spain. It’s heavenly.

Churros if it is you must try here with hot chocolate. It was great. The place is well organised. You pay and outside they arrange you place to seat and then get your order. They have got some great cookies and ice cream too.

You simply can’t leave Madrid without trying Chocolatería San Ginés. The chocolate is rich and velvety, and the churros are perfectly crisp, an unforgettable experience!

My wife and I enjoyed a great cafe con leche and small plate of 4 churros with chocolate sauce for dipping. The chocolate sauce is plentiful and a great way to go from cafe con leche to a mocha! Walls are covered in celeb photos going wayyyy back. Great ambience. Don't miss it!

The best churros and hot chocolate in the world! This shop is a dream for churro lovers, the churros are perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and always fresh. Paired with their rich, velvety hot chocolate, it’s an experience you won’t forget. Warm atmosphere, friendly service, and pure indulgence. An absolute must-visit!

You cannot visit Madrid without a visit to the world famous chocolateria San gines, it’s as simple as that. It was around €5.60 per person for this cup of chocolate and churros, I wouldn’t pick churros off a menu in any restaurant/cafe anywhere really, but here, it has to be done and I have to say, honestly, they’re like no churro I have ever tasted! These were lovely and I am so glad that I have been… I will be going back! You make your order at the till and are given a receipt and escorted to your table. Once sat down, a waiter will come and collect your receipt and then make your order and deliver it to the table, the whole experience is lovely as well as simple. Depending on the seat, the chocolate is prepared in front of you at one of the bars.

I thought I'd write a quick review to say I'm always at one of my favourite places. Great coffee and especially great service from the people there especially Arantxa. She's always got a great smile, is friendly and does a great job. A people's person. Now I have to add, although the staff are great, they are overworked because the company won't hire more workers. This is typical. Speed of service is bad here now. This is not the fault of the workers who are great. This is management.
