First of all, this place is inside the main part of the building. Access is through the main entrance. It's set in a food court, which I didn't anticipate. But it wasn't an issue. Visited on a Saturday around 6 p.m. Not many people were eating here, and there were plenty of seats available. Cleanliness was decent. A handful of the tables were dirty, but there were a few people cleaning up for the next guests to use. The food was very good and hot. It was also fresh, which was nice. The wait was around 15 minutes after we ordered. Our items came out one at a time, and you are allowed, however, much steamed rice as you needed. Food quality was higher than I expected, and the price is great for the amount of food you get! It's definitely worth it, and I will most likely return to try the other restaurants next to this one. Also, if you want your food spicy, it will actually be spicy, which is a huge plus for me. I love spice! So just be warned if you're sensitive to spicy food because they do not shy from making your food spicy if you ask. Overall, it was a terrific experience.

My husband and I are new to Atlanta and live an hour away from Chinatown Mall, but have eaten here twice within three days! Generous portions, very friendly owner, great price. I loved the spicy hot pot and agar agar. Already looking forward to our next trip!

The crispy garlic chicken was heavenly - you get soup and rice too all for 13 dollars (which included tip). Next time I will tip more. 5 stars - omg so happy rn!!!

From the time we walked up & ordered our food until the time we were ready to leave & boxed up our food we were satisfied 😋 The lady behind the counter was very knowledgeable. And knew the whole menu inside & out she was also very familiar with the noodles & which dishes paired well with what noodle !! We ordered the seafood hotpot and house fried rice. Both delicious!! The hot pot was brought out to the table & the flame was lit it stayed hot throughout our entire meal. The broth for the hotpot was delicious & didn’t need anything additional. The fried rice serving was large & they were generous with the meats throughout the dish. We WILL be back. The food court was such a nice surprise definitely exceeded expectations.

I am from ChongQing, so I can tell the owner is from Chong Qing. When I miss Homemade food, I would come here. The food is authentic. They have quite big menu. I an indulge with meaty dishes or hotpots or just have some vegetables dishes. My favorites are string bean with pork, hotpots, soybean with shehelion, I always buy their Szechuan chili oil which is the best on the market. I have been coming here for more than 10 years . It has becoming my substitute kitchen. Highly recommend.

I drove across down on recommendation of somebody else to get the liangpi (cold skin noodles). When I was pregnant with my son I ate these several times a week and it’s one of my favorite things ever. Sadly, there is nowhere to get them nearby. So, on recommendation I drove the 1 hr to this shop. It’s in a food court but this is the best food court around. The liangpi is amazing. I took a bite and was instantly so happy. I have had it before with chicken or tofu but my favorite is and has always been with just bean sprout and this is that. I hope this stall will continue to serve this and people will try it. Thank you for the delicious food!

Google
If you want to experience authentic Hot Pot this is where you need to be. We tried the crispy pork HP and it was delicious. Rice on the side. We plan to come back to China Town try other dishes in the food court but nothing beats Hot Pot on a cold night. Excellent service and the price!! Super affordable!! Love it!

Google
I would have given five stars for the food, but after a couple of visits I noticed that the soup is not the same all the time. Lately it's been missing flavor. Service is basic, you order, you pay, they called the food and take it to your table. I still believe you should come and visit this place. Atmos is like a cafeteria, if possible, give the tip to the cleaning person, don't just like it on the table, they work hard to keep the place clean. When you go, definitely get the Hotpot, that's the best thing they have.

Yelp
Within the Chinatown food court, restaurants can easily be overlooked and can easily become lost within the mix. On the contrary, Chong Qing Hot Pot seems to have an aura that makes you gravitate closer. I guess you can't help it! I certainly couldn't help but stare as a burner was being lit and a delicious looking hot pot was placed on top at a table not too far away. Those just seemed to be such eye candy. Chong Qing Hot Pot is seen as a staple within the Chinese food community in Chamblee and for very good reason. Authentic flavors, traditional food, fair prices, delicious tasting meals, this place really has it all. Their menu offers a ton of variety, in terms of ingredients, as well as flavor profiles. Their hot pots seem to have a heavy Sichuan influence, with spicy chilis running through the hot pots. You are able to order the hot pots either dry or wet. Regardless of what you choose, you can expect a ball of fire in your mouth. My favorite hot pot was the dry fish hot pot. Along with crispy (not fried) fish, there were vegetables throughout the hot pot and plenty of heat. The flavors give you an immediate punch, but everything about the hot pot is delightful. The fish is tender and the vegetables taste very fresh and cooked to perfection. Besides the fish hot pot, I see the beef hot pot going around quite often, sometimes without the fiery red liquid. That would be another recommendation. Their other dishes are also worth ordering. They fish and eggplant is as good as it gets, their noodle dishes are solid, and their crispy chicken with garlic sauce is the pinnacle of traditional Sichuan food. If you ever need some food that will wake up your palate, you will surely find it at Chong Qing Hot Pot. If you're struggling to make a decision at the Atlanta Chinatown Food Court, follow the rest of the people. You'll be happy that they led you to this spot!

Yelp
My friend and I split their Szechuan fish which came with complementary white rice, Egg Drop Soup and Hot and Sour Soup. Given how densely flavored the fish was, we needed a lot of white rice to balance it out, which luckily came with free refills. Not sure if it was because it was the end of the day but the egg drop and hot and sour soups were not good. They tasted almost soapy/fishy in very unpleasant ways. Overall, the portion and quality was well matched for the cost so I definitely want to come back and try something more items from their menu. Staff were kind even though they were busy. This is very much a low key and whole in the wall place. As long as you know that (and be cautious of the complementary soups), I am sure you will find something that you like!

Yelp
I've gotten hot pot from this place twice. Be warned it is food court style here. It does get kind of hot. The price was very reasonable and gives you a good portion. I like that it is actually spicy and they give you a lot of hot rice. I saw they had soups on the side but I was being shy and didn't try them. I can't remember what I got the first time but the second time I got the crispy pork hot pot because it was heavily pictured on Yelp. It was good but better concept than execution. The first hotpot I got was better. It was either their name or some type of beef. It was bit of a wait for my pot I believe around 25-30 minutes so order that first or you'll keep your company waiting.

Yelp
I grew up with Chong Qing Hot Pot, and I'm so glad the restaurant still runs to this day. I recently asked whatever happened to the younger man that used to work here, not realizing that he is now the older man that works there. Chong Qing Hot Pot has kept its incredible quality over the years. The portions continue to be incredibly fair, the prices competitive, and the flavors truly incredible. I don't think any place does a 辣子鸡 like this restaurant. Order any of your Sichuan favorites from here, and they're sure to please. I think the biggest highlight, outside of the incredible food, is the fact that they're not stingy with rice. Too many places do a strict 1 portion of rice per entree. That hasn't yet happened to Chong Qing Hot Pot, and hopefully, they'll never feel like they need to change that. I'll always love Chong Qing Hot Pot. It's one of Metro Atlantas many wonderful Sichuan places.

Yelp
We saw this on Strictly Dumpling and had to make a stop on our trip. It is in a food court with other Chinese stalls. You order at the cou ter and it is brought out to your table. It was delicious and a huge portion for the price! I ordered the beef hot pot not spicy. It took a few minutes to come out but when it did it was worth the wait. It comes out in a pot with a flame burner underneath. There was so much beef and veggies. The broth had great flavor. Not too salty or bland. I would want to eat it on a cold day, when feeling sick, or any old day. You can get rice at the counter for free to go with the hotpot. If you are near I would highly recommend a stop in to try the hotpot.

Yelp
Pretty good hot pot in a food court setting. I liked the flavor of the broth in the beef hot pot (a little spicy), but it really needed salt. I could taste flavors like garlic and ginger in the background, but it was a bit bland. I ended up experimenting with adding sole soy sauce to the broth and it perked it up a lot. The steamed pork dumplings were some of the best I've had. Not too thick or gummy, lots of filling. I liked the atmosphere and saw some other noodle dishes I'd like to try.

Yelp
The best spot in Chinatown. The owner is super nice and generous - they provide hot tea, rice, and hot&sour soup to their customers. Really great options for food.

Yelp
This is one the stalls in the China town's food court. There's many options and price is really affordable. We got the Sichuan fish and beef hotpot. Both were very delicious and spicy. Both were a good portion to share with 2 people. I preferred the Sichuan fish because the fish was so soft and flavorful. They were very busy but the food came out in a timely manner. Once you get your food, enjoy

Yelp
We discovered this spot on Tik Tok (thanks, @livinginatlantageorgia). And we ordered exactly what he recommended! We tried the spicy beef hot pot and given that temps were in the 30s, it was a perfect dinner for a chilly night! The food court itself is tucked away in a mall with a cute courtyard with a garden and pond. Lights and decorations make the spot super cute. Lots of people there, but it wasn't too crowded. Most spots only had one or two people in line and finding parking and seating was no problem at all on the Friday night that we visited. We ordered our hot pot at Chong Qing and a few items from other stalls and found a seat to wait. Our hot pot was ready in about ten minutes and was well worth the wait. We ordered our hot pot medium spicy, and it was a little much for some members of our family. We will probably take a step down on the spice next time and let each family member add their own chili oil (which was specifically shouted out as being the very best in the Tik Tok we saw). Beef was great, and the texture of the tofu was perfect and custardy. We got a side of rice, which helped us cut the spice a bit. The hot pot does have glass noodles, but if you are a carb lover like me, you'll want more - so the rice helps with that. They have lots of hot pots to choose from, so we will definitely return to try some new things!

Yelp
Step inside and you're automatically transferred to East Asia. This food court, and Chong Qing specifically are an absolute gem. This was probably the most authentic East Asian meal I've had since my time in China. The spicy beef hot pot was so flavorful and definitely lived up with the heat (I went through several cups of water)! My favorite dish was the cumin beef, I'm still thinking about it! Be warned though, you must love cumin because it's completely covered in it. The value of the meals here is also great, we had lots of leftovers. Parking: Easy free parking shared with various businesses

Yelp
Amazing. Great find in the Chinatown food court. Mikey Chen (youtube) has apparently visited here - his picture is next to the cashier. I wouldn't know who he was unless my friend raved about him. The food was so good and so affordable - I want to come back to try everything on the menu. Their beef ho fun was good, green beans were a little salty but still good. Seafood hot pot packed with seafood, lots of cabbage, very spicy! Shrimp with shell - something to be aware of, people can be weird about peeling shrimp but shell on is so much more tasty than shell off. There weren't many shrimp and they were on the smaller side but that's ok. Plenty of white fish, some squid although rare. Young woman who helped us was very helpful, answered my annoying questions, free soup for dining in, also free rice, just let them know how many. They also have chili sauce which is quite spicy but delicious! A must try if you're in the area, don't be scared off by the strip mall. You'll thank me later!

Yelp
Tucked away inside Atlanta China Town mall/food court. Hubby brought me here for dinner because his boss took him for lunch a week ago and he loved it. The food court is across from a nice courtyard garden. There were 4-5 restaurants/vendors and almost everyone eating in was getting their food from Chong Qing Hot Pot - this was a very good sign to me. We ordered the medium sized Beef Hot Pot, medium spicy, with sprouts instead of noodles. They have complimentary egg drop soup, hot & sour soup, and rice. As we waited for our hot pot, I tried both soups. Both were pretty bland, with no signature flavors of either of these soups, but hey - they were free! I think xxx I'll pass on them next time. The hot pot came out steaming hot and they set it up on a burner. We got some rice because hubby said, "we're going to need it!" I had a little concerned about flavor after tasting the complimentary soups - they definitely put their focus on the hot pots!!!!!!! Yummy and spicy and delicious and hot. I'm very glad my hubby brought our own spoons. I thought he was crazy, but they keep costs down by only providing the bare minimum in service ware - styrofoam bowls, little plastic spoons and forks, and chopsticks (and napkins of course). The order taker asked us where we got the spoons and we said we brought them in with us - she giggled and said that was a good idea. Now to describe flavor... The beef was tender and soaked up the yummy szechuan red chili broth. Medium was the perfect spice level for me and I LOVE heat!!! It had cabbage, carrots, zucchini, tofu, Szechuan chili peppers, and the beef in it. We substituted the noodles for bean sprouts and asked for more sprouts for our left overs. Yes - we have enough leftovers to have lunch for both of us tomorrow!! What an amazing deal - $13 for the hot pot +$1 for the extra sprouts and we had dinner and lunch for two!! Amazing . Service was.top notch. The order taker was so helpful and friendly. She made ordering easy and getting our extras and to-go containers was a breeze. We definitely will be back and this will probably become one of our go to places.

Yelp
4.5/5 Ambiance, Service: ordered through uber eats. Happy this was a late night (closes 9pm) option. Food: the food was a big plus! The menu is spicy chinese options, though its more limited for delivery. I ordered the beef hot pot (med spicy). It is a LARGE portion and comes with a small side of white rice. The beef is well-seasoned and tender, though a little overly salted. In contrast, the vegetables aren't salted at all, and pick up only a bit if the spicy oil flavor theyre sauteed in. They were also quite soft and didnt have much crunch to it. I wish it was as flavorful as it looks, but with some soy sauce it fixed it up. I'd love to try this option in person and different portions of the menu. Would recommend!

Yelp
Since my beloved Hi Pot closed, I have been reluctant to order from another hot pot restaurant for fear that it will not compare. That was the case with Chong Qing but the food was not bad by any means. I had the Beef Hot Pot, mild spice, for delivery. First of all, the portion was humungous. It also met my expectations for the spice level. One of the things I enjoyed most about Hi Pot was the variety of items in each order - so I was a bit disappointed that this wasn't the case with Chong Qing. Neither the website nor Grubhub actually listed what all was in the order, i.e. type of noodles, vegetables, etc. or allowed you to add anything/customize. The search continues.

Yelp
Chinatown food court is such an underrated place and this is one of my favorites restaurants in the food court! Once you order at the counter you can sit wherever you like. They have free water or hot tea that is self serve as well as free egg drop soup and hot&sour soup too! when your order is ready they'll generally call it out and you can get it OR they'll bring it to your table. This place is known for their spicy dishes and they make their own chili oil (yum). My husband and I shared: - hot pot with crispy pork ($12.50): such a steal for the price, and it's huge! we got it medium spicy and will definitely get it hot or extra spicy next time. The broth is flavorful and comes out in a mini wok over a fire so it's kept boiling. Filled with vegetables like carrots, zucchini and cabbage + vermicelli noodles and PLENTY of crispy pork. They also offer hot pot with other meats like chicken, beef or lamb. Recommend for sure! - string bean with minced pork (I forgot the price but around $10): fried string beans in sautéed garlic, onions and minced pork. So good! - Chongqing spicy pork intestine: my usual go to item here. They fry it crispy and it's sooo good with rice.

Yelp
CASH Preferred =. Ambiance is that of an outdated food court. There are ~6 Asian restos at this Chinatown food court. DR is open, self serve tables inside and a couple of garden tables outside. ++. Food is SPICY Chinese. Over the years, I've tried dishes like cumin lamb, cumin beef, Chong Qing spicy chicken, egg plants, string beans but my favorite is their dry beef (or chicken) hotpot. It's a good balance of veggies to meat ratio and balanced spice. Included is steamed white long grain rice. If you eat on site, they offer self serve complimentary hot and sour or egg drop soup but not for take outs. +. Prices is reasonable and CASH is preferred. Credit cards are accepted but you incur a transaction fee. Pay inside. ++. Service is friendly and efficient. I do takeouts and call ahead. My order usually is ready in about 15 - 20 minutes. +. Parking is a limited shared lot and free. CQ is a tried and true traditional Chinese food. Best for takeouts! MY RATINGS - - - Inhumane - - Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++ EDIBLE...WHERE have you been all my LiFe!

Yelp
Good food, lots of options. Friendly workers. They gave big portions with every order and good prices. Came out fast. Clean inside seating.

Yelp
I'm grading on a food court curve, which discounts environment and emphasizes value (and taste, as always). Now, I've only had hot pot once before and that was in a sit down restaurant, years ago, but I felt like trying something new(ish) today, and turned to Yelp for recommendations of places open at 10 AM. Chong Qing Hot Pot had reliably high reviews. Something like 350 of them, an average of 4.5, and best of all, walking distance. So I slipped into my Birkenstocks and made my way. I had decided to have a hot pot of some kind before I arrived, and only a few things were technically under the "hot pot" label on the menu. I've always been partial to lamb. Mild spice, because as much as I like the real thing, my stomach disagrees. It took probably 15 minutes for my order to arrive, but it was apparent that the lamb had been cooked in the broth, as it should be. The presentation is real - a metal bowl with a fire lit under it to keep it warm. So much food, too. Way too much for a single person. For $13.25 in an era where everything seems too expensive. I also ordered a Mexican Coke, because why not? The broth was very tasty, with lamb, bok choi, zucchini, carrots, translucent rice noodles, and tofu. I was given a bowl of white rice on the side. Granted, styrofoam bowls, plastic spoon, but it's a food court/takeout place. My only regret is that I now have to walk home with quite a lot of leftovers. I wouldn't say the food is transcendent or anything, but it's good, it's cheap, and food court takeout doesn't really get better than that. Hot Pot doesn't seem like a to go food, but I'll definitely be bringing this with me.

Yelp
My favorite spot at the Atlanta Chinatown. Spicy crispy chicken, cumin beef and a szechuan pot with white rice and I am in business. Me and my wife love the food here and has been coming here for years. The price has increased over the years but it is still worth it. Bring cash to avoid credit card fees. Service is fast and friendly. Definitely recommend this spot. Carpe Diem with your taste buds good people.

Yelp
Service is good I really like the male owner. I have been here at least a dozen time in the last decade of living here. I have always ordered the seafood hotpot. The fish didn't taste fresh and the quantity of seafood has been reduced by 30%. The price of seafood hot pot has gone up by $3 which is understandable. Ambiance is very multicultural.

Yelp
I lived and worked in china and got accustomed to authentic Chinese food. Since coming back, my taste for Americanized Chinese food is no longer there. I simply cannot stand Americanized Chinese. This place is legit. I've been to several authentic sichuan restaurants around the country and this place is easily as good or better than almost everyone I've been to. They have my favorite sichuan dish on the menu...Ants climbing a tree and it's just like I remember from eating it in China. I'm here on business for one more night and I'm going back. Next time I'm in town for business, I'm going back. It's. That. Good. You'll notice I gave the atmosphere 5 stars. I would assume most Americans would give it 1 because it's, well, a food court. Thing is...it reminds me of the restaurants in the malls that I'd go to in china so...5 stars it is. The facility even has a small garden in the middle which gave me pause. Don't get me wrong, it's no Suzhou garden but there's something about it that is comforting. Bottom line, you have to try this place. If you like Americanized Chinese food then I'm sure they have something you'll like but I don't know because I didn't look.

Yelp
Went to Chong Qing Hot Pot for dinner tonight and got Cumin Beef and Lanb Hot Pot. It was good, but Szechuan style admittedly is not my favorite. The meats were good and tender with nice mix of vegetables for balance. It's worth checking out if you like spicy food. Avoid the Hot and Sour soup though, some of the worst I've ever had!
google avatar

Nelle C.

Yelp
Excellent, excellent, excellent Szechuan-style cuisine - a good choice if you're into spicy food. The ordering system appears a bit chaotic, especially as Chong Qing shares the dining room with about five other restaurants, but fret not, it's a seamless experience overall, and the taste of the food is WELL worth it. Plus, it's frequented by Chinese folks - as a rule, i don't really fw any non-American restaurants that don't attract their homeland peoples! If the original locals think it's good - that's a good sign that the food will be bangin. Meanwhile - i don't even remember all the items in the feast that i ordered, but definitely the fried rice (i asked for spicy) was amazing, the fried shrimp, and the veg lo mein, and the shrimp in garlic sauce w/ wood ear mushrooms - ALL OF IT WAS DELIGHTFUL. i know, i know - i didn't order anything super adventurous, but sometimes simplicity rules the day. Overall: DEFINITELY recommend.

Yelp
Any time it's a cool or cold day and you want something to eat that will warm you up, check out Chong Qing. It's in a strip mall food court (known as Atlanta Chinatown, or to some as the Dinho Food Court), tucked away next to a quaint outdoor garden. The green beans are vibrant (probably blanched before the pan fry) and delicious. The crispy chicken is exactly that, provided you don't let it sit in that yummy, slightly spicy sauce for too long. The hot pot sits atop a flaming sterno type gel, which is unnecessary in my opinion, but I guess some like to eat their soup at boiling point temperatures. They also make their own chili oil paste on site. From the outside, looks can be deceiving, so do yourself a favor and look beyond the exterior.

Yelp
Oh my what a gem this place is. If you like eating legit culturally immersed eats you have to try this place a few times.

Yelp
Food and service are the best I have had in a very long time. Let's just say I drive an hour and thirty minutes to eat there more than I would like to admit.

Yelp
I still come here years later, and the dan dan mian is my favorite of all that I've tried across multiple cities, including a few here in the A. The service is wonderful and efficient and the prices, while having gone up with inflation, are reasonable. I'm not quite sure why I originally gave this place 4 stars, because it is firmly a 5. Remedying that with this review update.

Yelp
Great food! It's like I am transported to a shop in another part of the world. Enjoy the spicy chicken next time your around.

Yelp
Chong Qing is located in a food court, which was busy when we arrived. We had placed a takeout order, so our visit was pickup and go. Both chicken orders were heavily breaded. Sesame chicken was bathed in a sweet sauce with a dusting of sesame seeds. The General Tao's chicken was resting in pepper oil with pepper flakes throughout. The flavor was there; a touch of heat, but not hot. The mix of breading and oil created a spongy feel. Not bad- I would have preferred a little less breading and more chicken. The lo mein was seemed tasty by my daughter. We also ordered egg drop soup which was on the bland side. Not a bad meal, but not an outstanding one.

Yelp
Haven't been to this area in a super super long time but was surprised to see this here when I was visiting home for a little while. Came here for dinner with a few friends and tried a few dishes family style: Fried spicy large intestines: PROS: - huge quantity - very flavorful - good balance between the vegetables and the large intestines. CONS: -not enough intestines hahaha. This is a favorite of mine! House fried tofu: PROS: - huge quantities again - large assortment of vegetables CONS: - could have a little more flavor. Wasn't bland but wasn't as tasty as the intestines. Stir fried Long Beans PROS: -huge quantities: I'm starting to think that all these places are great for sharing. - very flavorful. CONS: - not really a con but it is on the oily side. However to get the beans cooked to this texture it is essential to use sufficient hot oil. Would I come back again? Probably not as there is another similar type cuisine restaurant about a 10min drive away. But if I'm near here with friends I wouldn't mind!

Yelp
My husband and I love this place. We live in Florida but every time we do road trips we try to pass by this area just to go to this restaurant. The food is delicious specially the Spicy chicken and the fish. The hot pot is also delicious. The service is good and fast. The food is always hot. The place have a lot of chairs and not very loud.

Yelp
Whenever I take a trip up to Chinatown plaza, I always have to order from Chong Qing Hot Pot. We ordered the Cumin Lamb and the Dry Fish Hot Pot. I've order from them several times in the past and have never been disappointed. Their service is always helpful, as they help you set up your hot pot and refill your bowl of rice when needed. This is located in the plaza's food court, but the food exceeds any type of mall food court you can imagine. The place is generally pretty clean and simply designed. I will always recommend this place!

Yelp
Great little treasure of a find. We ordered 3 different dishes and all were fantastic. Nicely spicy and not over oily. Another visit is due when we visit Atlanta again.

Yelp
My lovely bride and I were suffering from a nasty cold bug that we could not get rid of, so we needed some spicy Szechuan food to kill it off. We ordered Spicy Wonton Soup, Dan Dan Noodles, Beef Hot Pot, String Beans, Kung Pao Chicken, and Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, all to go. Not sure whether the Spicy Wonton Soup or the Beef Hot Pot was more effective, but they did the job. The Dan Dan Noodles were NY Chinatown quality. Service is polite and efficient. Every dish seemed freshly prepared with good ingredients. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I've been to this food court where Chong Qing is located multiple times and have been trying to do the whole circuit and try every restaurant in here. We ordered the fish fillet with eggplant, crispy pork hot pot, and house lo mein. We enjoyed all the dishes, but especially the fish/eggplant dish. Fish was perfectly tender. Never really eaten eggplant before, but I couldn't get enough of that either. Service was overall quick and friendly. I would definitely come here again to try more of their menu items.

Yelp
Although I've been to the "Atlanta" Chinatown food court numerous times, I have never eaten food from Chong Qing Hot Pot. I've walked by their stall many times and have seen many people standing in line, but there are other food court businesses that I really like. On 12/30/20, at about 7:30 pm, I finally saw there wasn't a line at Chong Qing Hot Pot (in fact, most of the food court was empty), and I wanted to try something different, so here I am. To get to the food court, park just about anywhere around the building complex. The biggest parking areas are near Oriental Pearl Restaurant and Dino Market of Atlanta, which are at opposite ends of the complex. Customers going to the food court need to go through clear glass doors to get to the courtyard that has a fish pond, then go through more glass doors to enter the food court. All tables are first come, first served basis, and it's up to the customers to social distance themselves. I was happy that there wasn't a line. This gave me a chance to look at everything on their menu, which has a lot of items. The employee at the counter wore a facemask, was very nice and answered all the questions that R and I had, and I had a lot of them. I finally decided on a beef hot pot to share between the two of us. The employee asked me if I wanted it spicy, and I told him yes. We grabbed a table away from any other table and where no one else would walk anywhere near us while we ate. We waited about 15 minutes, and the employee personally brought the hot pot (wok), a stand for the wok and a warming candle that he lit. I went to the counter to get two bowls of steamed white rice, which is included as part of the meal. The meal smelled good and spicy! And it looked good! I scooped up slices of beef, tofu, carrots, zucchini and onions, among other things into my bowl of rice and added a little more soup. This was definitely spicy! The tofu and the vegetables were cooked perfectly and weren't mushy. The beef was chewy, and it would've been less chewy if the beef was sliced thinner. There was enough food for the both of us to share. Overall, to me, the beef hot pot was meh. It was spicy hot, but lacked any real flavor. Or maybe the spiciness just overwhelmed all other flavors that were possibly in the hot pot. In my mind, this spicy beef hot pot would be the result if someone decided to make a Korean kim chee shabu shabu. The guy working there provided really solid customer service! If I come back, I'll try something else.

Yelp
An authentic szechuan spot in atlanta at an incredible price. Picture menu is very customer friendly even if you don't speak Chinese and the cashier was incredibly nice and helpful. (I do speak Chinese for clarity.) Recommend their jumping fish and tofu or any of their hot pots. They have many classic chinese dishes as well with homestyle sichuan preparation. An easy place for me to recommend for good Chinese food.

Yelp
Chong Qing Hot Pot is a hidden or maybe not so hidden jewel. Great quality food, affordable prices and large portions. Everything is prepared fresh and there was a steady stream of customers but they got the orders out quickly. I went for the Spicy Chicken which I like but the true star to me was the Sweet & Sour Fried Fish. Crispy pieces of white fish in a very delicious sweet and sour sauce. It was so good and I can't wait to have it again. Next time I will order the fish and one of their hot pots. If you find yourself in the area and close to the China Town shopping plaza definitely check them out.

Yelp
Not authentic Sichuan food, or maybe I ordered the wrong items. Their pic of the dry fish hot pot on the menu featured many fish pieces but what I got in reality was mostly bland veggies and few fish pieces. The Chong qing chicken had no numbing peppercorns in sight and tastes like it's flavored with sweet chili sauce...

Yelp
Wait on the Lord. A lunch buddy adventure almost 18 months in the making.... Sad to see how many establishments didn't survive but happy that this one did. Pack your patience because they are running on a small staff but the food is worth the wait

Yelp
If there ever comes a day where I become terminally ill and the doctors advise I only have 24 hours to live, I would leave that hospital immediately (not caring if my booty cheeks were still visible) and I would walk straight to Chong Qing Hot Pot. I don't want to see friends, family, or even my dog. I only want one thing and one thing only - Chong Qing. First thing I would order is: everything. Literally anything and everything on the menu. And then proceed to eat every crumb of food and every drop of soup given to me. Whenever I get full, I would simply lie down and take a nap right there - falling asleep to the soothing sounds of pots clanging, dumplings sizzling, and food workers yelling to each other in their native tongues. When I wake up, I would order the entire menu again and repeat the whole thing over and over. I take personal hygiene quite seriously, so I would have to bathe myself halfway thru the day of course. However, instead of using water, I'd request that they bring in a bathtub and fill it with the spicy hot pot broth. I'd immerse my entire body in that beautiful broth; I would take their mongolian beef and use it to rub and exfoliate my skin; I would take their crispy chicken garlic sauce and carefully let it drip into my eyeballs; and finally I would take their string beans and somehow use it to floss my teeth one last time. After those 24 hours are up and I have passed on to the next life, my only wish is that there be NO funeral held for me. Rather, my last request would be for all my loved ones to gather at the Atlanta Chinatown Food Court, bury my body in the middle of the garden, and have a celebratory meal at Chong Qing - the closest thing to heaven on earth. May God bless Chong Qing. May God bless China. And may God bless the United States of America! Amen.

Yelp
This little food court tucked in the side streets of Buford highway is the definition of a hidden gem and one of the most fun places to visit here in Atlanta. Many of my friends who have moved from ATL still dream of this place so I'm really thankful to have been introduced to it back in 2015 by some friends. The Dan Dan noodles are a must try (they're like crack) and I also enjoyed the beef hot pot at medium spicy level. A few of my favorite parts of visiting below: 1. The Dan Dan noodles basically come separated, they have the special chili sauce at the bottom and mixing it together is oh so satisfying... 2. I've always had really good customer experience, they have free rice and soup as well as really nice service so it's just a nice place to visit 3. The whole setting in the food court just really feels like you're transported into a different place and out of Atlanta If you're looking for Dan Dan noodles this is your spot, you'll see more from Atlanta China Town soon

Yelp
Get the Dried Fish Hot Pot and make it spicy you will not regret it! Make sure to mix it after the fire goes out so the flavors are mixed in well. Every bite is better than the last and the serving size is huge. I get at a least 2.5 more meals from this dish. Additionally, I always get string beans as a side and this time we tried the Dan Dan noodles (no meat) which were good as well!

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp I had a taste for real Asian cuisine. And boy did it not disappoint. I like that this food is Szechuan because it is a diff type of Chinese food which means it's more spicy and more flavorful. When you first arrive at the building you might by thrown off because it looks like a hall. But it's a good kitchen in the rear and there are several Asian places all authentic and the smells are amazing. I ordered the 1.Kung pao chicken 2. Chicken fried rice 3.Greens beans tossed in garlic sauce (favorite)!!! 4. White rice There were so many items on the menu it was hard to chose. The rice could have had just a little more flavor it's kind of plain but everything else was superb. I will be back again.

Yelp
Legit and authentic spot in Chinatown Food Court! My go-to whenever in the area. My favorites are Seafood Hot Pot, Dry Seafood Hot Pot, and Shrimp fried rice. Flavors, textures, and quantity abound! 1 entree and fried rice gives me like 4-5 meals when using the unused white rice for my own fried rice meal days later! It's worth the trip and experience. Not to mention the free egg drop soup while you wait! Simple, warming, and delicious!

Yelp
Came to Chong Qing which is located inside a small food court for lunch! Make sure you bring cash though! There were a lot of options with television screens and pictures of food items to help decide. We decided on the Crispy Chicken with Garlic Sauce with medium heat. It was really tasty and packed a nice heat. The chicken was way more crispy than I thought it would be and was still extremely moist. This packed a great bang for your buck. This entree was around ~$9 and is easily 2 meals and we took home leftovers. Chong Qing has free rice, hot and sour soup, and egg drop soup. You'll definitely want to take advantage of the free rice to eat with your entrees. The egg drop and hot and sour soup you'll want to skip. The flavor wasn't there and it was like drinking food colored water practically. I didn't factor those into the review as it was completely free so I didn't feel like I wasted any money! Would definitely come here again!
