We were in the Lowery area dropping off a donation and decided to try something new. This unassuming building is hiding delicious slow cooked food at a fast food pace. We ordered three dishes to try them out (photo attached) and we were not disappointed!
First off, their 48-hour slow cooked short rib is front and center on the menu, for good reason. It is flavorful, juicy, and fork tender, but you don't even need to cut it because it just melts in your mouth. It comes with roasted whole carrots and silk-smooth mashed potatoes and a rich gravy.
For a lighter fare, we also tried the French dip. Thin sliced slow cooked sirloin paired with horseradish and a savory au ju. Most restaurants just put sandwich roast beef on a bagette with beef water, but this was completely over the top with flavor and satisfaction. It would have been my go-to dish, except we also tried the fried chicken...
If all they did was fried chicken, KFC would be run out of town on a rail. Crispy, juicy, amazing flavor, topped with a chipotle honey sauce, paired with white cheddar polenta and bacon topped sauted chard with bacon gravy. Hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had.
Slow cooked southern food delivered at a fast food pace. Don't check this place out if you aren't prepared to have a new favorite restaurant!
