"With three locations in the Hale and Lowry neighborhoods as well as Englewood, Chop Shop brings gourmet standards to a quick-casual, family-oriented environment. It offers a house-ground beef burger served with American cheese, house pickles, tomato, butter lettuce, spicy aioli, and a side of chips. For $1–$1.50 extra, diners can add toppings like avocado or 72-hour cooked onions. The vegetarian alternative stars a patty made with smoked tofu, lentils, mushrooms, and goat cheese." - Camila Navarrette, Josie Sexton, Paul Albani-Burgio, Ruth Tobias

Love the ambiance of the place. Quaint, quiet, easy place to hang out. Super friendly staff and the menu was easy to go through. Ended up on the French dip. Added the green chili cheese and that was amazing. The au jus was dark and delicious and the Cesar was good too. My con workers had the short ribs and said they were amazing as well as the chicken strip basket. Great food and place to eat.

Google
Tried this restaurant at lunch. Very pleasantly surprised! The food was fresh, well prepared and very tasty! The bacon wrapped meatloaf was delish! The short ribs tender and not overdone, and both dishes came with a tasty sauce that complimented the dishes! Both meals were topped with a healthy portion of freshly fried onions that were obviously made from scratch... they were perfect compliment to the main dish! They offer fountain service, but don't expect the usual sodas. Instead, select a refreshing drink made with real sugar right here in Colorado. The staff was uber friendly and they were very responsive to food allergies - and definite plus!

OMG. The food was incredible. We celebrated a bday here and it did not disappoint. We went for the entrees the 48 hour smoked rib and the Mediterranean chicken on couscous. These were incredible. Each bite a new flavor explosion. All the ingredients were high quality and all flavors made in house. The fried churro cheesecake was incredible and even the whipped cream tasted high quality and fresh. Thank you to the crew tonight for incredible service and everything.

Google
Amazing food! Great service. The inside is nice but feels more casual than the food looks - feels more like a burger joint via decor. Would recommend this place 100%!

Google
The food is pretty tasty and seems healthy. Somewhat unique selection of entrées and sides. A bit on the pricey side though. A burger with vegetables and fried rice for $45 plus tip is a bit on the high side. I’ll probably be back but I won’t be ordering the burger again.

Google
The staff was so friendly and food was delivered very quickly. The standout food was the Parmesan Fries, they were delicious, definitely the best thing we had. The Mac and cheese was pretty good, as was the chop burger. I wish the 48hour short rib came with more carrots, and less of the crispy onions, the short rib wasn't as tender as I was expecting. Overall very expensive for what it is. Another member in the party ordered the pork carnitas noodle bowl. The carnitas was the best part of the dish. The bowl as a whole was disappointing, mostly from the sauce. No kick, just tasted very heavily of vinegar. Was very tangy. The flavor just was not there.

Wonderful food. Salads were very fresh. Soup was irresistible. Wish we lived closer!

Cozy restaurant. From the moment I entered, I was greeted warmly by your attentive team. The ambiance of your restaurant truly stood out as a welcoming haven, exuding a cozy atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The tasteful decor and soothing lighting contributed to a relaxing and inviting environment. The attention to detail in creating such a pleasant setting certainly did not go unnoticed, and it greatly enhanced my overall dining experience. Now, onto the highlight of my visit - the food. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste of the dishes served. The culinary expertise demonstrated by your skilled chefs shines through in every bite. The menu offered a diverse range of delectable options, each prepared with precision and artistry. Not only were the presentation and flavors exemplary, but the portions were also generous, ensuring utmost satisfaction for even the most discerning palate.

Yelp
We really like the Chop Shop on S Broadway. The burgers are cooked just right and are large. I especially like the bacon ranch chicken sandwich. The chicken is huge and it is hard to eat all of it. The parmigiana fries are excellent. The homemade chips are delicious.

Robbin M.

Yelp
As I read the list of ingredients--mushroom, smoked tofu, goat cheese, lentil patty, whole wheat bun, lemon & boursin aioli, arugula, tomato, and pickle--my mouth began to water. I placed the order and within five minutes, I got a text saying it was ready. My skepticism flared, but I went ahead and picked it up. Back home, to no surprise, the burger was burnt to a crisp. I still don't understand why they rushed it, especially since the place was empty and didn't seem to have many online orders. This burger had the potential to be great, but I never got the chance to taste it. At $15+, it was a rip-off. I should have just gone to Burger King and gotten the Impossible Burger. At least if they mess up, I'm not out $15.

Arthur G.

Yelp
Started with the salmon croquettes and fried brussel sprouts. The croquettes were light and flavorful, and the brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked and nicely crispy. My meal was the fried chicken, which came with sauteed greens and polenta. The coating on chicken was light and crisp, and the chicken was juicy. My wife's sirloin French dip was tender and filled with meat. The bun was nicely toasted and tasty. The accompanying parmesan fries were on the soggy side, but still had enough of a flavor punch.

Deborah M.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch and was craving a burger- service was fast and friendly and the burger was delicious and not too much- hard to find these days! Simple and satisfying, kiddo had Mac n' cheese and we both enjoyed the natural Colorado sodas!

Danielle F.

Yelp
This place has amazing food, some of the best salmon I've had in a long time as well as their fried rice dish. We ordered 2 dishes & just the dishes alone were just over $40 bucks. Tons of parking & easy to drive & find. Restaurant is also very clean & tons of seating options. For the vibe in here definitely have high prices as the restaurant gives fast food vibes with how the seating is & the fact they have no server that comes to the table to place your order & check on you. You also have to put the dishes away yourself & fill up at a soda fountain. Just pricey when you can go to a normal restaurant & pay the same amount for actual service beyond just ordering at a cash register.

John D.

Yelp
We came in for our first visit. Plenty of parking upon arrival. The man working the register was thoughtful and friendly. The prices with the tip were higher than average. 30 plus per person average. We ordered a prime rib and salmon specials. The food was good. The ambiance was nice. A bit loud with the music and echoing sounds. They had a neat mural on the wall. You fill up your own drink from a fountain. The food seemed fresh and of quality content. The prime rib should be served with a steak knife. It's strange to me that an employee working the cash register would get a 15 to 20 percent tip, when they do not do the same job as a server in a restaurant. I guess I'm old school in that way. Although, I'm guessing that tip is shared with the entire staff on duty.

Yelp
We ate at Chop Shop, Casual Urban Eatery on South Broadway for lunch over the weekend. Chop Shop is one of Denver's premier chef driven fast casual/quick serve restaurants and has three locations - South Broadway, East Colfax and Quebec St. We arrived at Chop Shop South Broadway, ordered our food and sat at a booth in the main dining room. The aesthetic of the restaurant was lively & fun with a vibrant Chop Shop mural on the wall & a huge patio. Clint Wangsnes, Owner and Executive Chef at Chop Shop gave us stellar recommendations and ensured our meal ran smoothly. Manager Alisson assisted Clint & both were active on the restaurant floor throughout our visit. I started off the meal with a Lemon Berry Froze. This vodka cocktail was tart on the tongue with the cooling taste of citrusy lemon & sweet berries. For Specialties we had the Sirloin French Dip, 48 Hour Slow-Cooked Short Rib, & the Grilled Achiote Salmon Filet. The Sirloin French Dip was made with House Roasted Top Sirloin, Horseradish Aioli, Provolone, Pan Dripping Au Jus, & a Toasted French Roll. This is a new sandwich on the Chop Shop Menu. OH MY GOSH. Even just thinking of this Sirloin French Dip has my mouthwatering - it was phenomenal. The French Dip was stacked with all the best elements of a sandwich: thick slices of succulent top sirloin, melty provolone cheese & flavor packed au jus. The crusty French roll absorbed the savory au jus with each dip making for the juiciest bites. The creamy horseradish aioli added a subtle spice to the sandwich. A must order! For a side we had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts made with Nuoc Cham & Ginger Dill Yogurt. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts were fabulous - they were tender little orbs with crisp exteriors and a mildly sweet, nutty taste. Their lightly crunchy exteriors complemented the creamy dill yogurt that topped them. The 48 Hour Slow-Cooked Short Rib was made with Grilled Baby Carrots, Whipped Potatoes, Crispy Pickled Onions, & 3 Peppercorn Hoisin Demi-Glace. The Short Rib made for fork-tender, beefy bites. The short rib had a deep, meaty flavor and was served over fluffy whipped potatoes. The potatoes had a velvety mouthfeel against the chew of the meat. The fried pickled onions added nice crunch while the grilled carrots added a delicate snap. The Grilled Achiote Salmon Filet was made with Teriyaki Glaze, Sautéed Mixed Vegetables, Steamed Jasmine Rice, & Furikake. The sweet salmon flaked easily and had a warm, tangy Teriyaki flavor. The mixed vegetables were fresh and added bright color to this specialty dish. The Southwestern Chop Salad was made with Mixed Greens, Tomato, Roasted Corn, Black Beans, Green Onion, Cilantro, Crispy Tortilla, Shredded Cheese, & Chipotle Buttermilk Vinaigrette. This was a fresh and flavorful salad tossed in a deliciously, creamy Chipotle Buttermilk Vinaigrette that was made in-house.

Yelp
I ordered takeout tonight: chicken pastrami sandwich. It was delicious!! I loved the aoli which had a bit of heat (my kind of sandwich). I've been to the Chop Shop on Colfax half a dozen times and I'm so glad to know this location is just as good!

Danielle M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a fast food vibe with high class meals, this is the place to go! The service is great and the food is even better. I had their grilled chicken southwest salad. The chipotle dressing is spicy but not over the top. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu options.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
We enjoyed a nice casual Sunday afternoon with friends at Chop Shop recently. I had the chicken fingers basket with Parmesan fries and it was delicious! The chicken fingers are big freshly breaded chunks of juicy white chicken. The side of coleslaw was also great! They add caraway seeds for such a different and delightful flavor. I can't forget the melon margarita! It was refreshing and light without being overly sweet. I would order it again. The service was nice and friendly. The seating is a little cramped overall but especially inside so we enjoyed the patio seating. Small menu but great food and drink!

Andrea K.

Yelp
I think if we lived closer, we might visit more often. It's kind of a strange concept- ordering sit- down restaurant quality food at a counter. We came in for lunch on Sunday and had a hard time deciding what to have. We settled on the short rib, onion soup, and a side salad. It was all very good. I especially loved the onion soup. I enjoyed the short rib too but I could have used a lot more of the gravy. The portion on that felt stingy! The mashed potatoes are grade A comfort material! I think we'd return and try the sandwiches. I don't see having a date night here though. The atmosphere just doesn't call for it.

Melanie C.

Yelp
Cute little hole in the wall type place that serves up some seriously yummy made to order eats. Pretty sure most of their business is via delivery service which is fine by me; more room to dine in!

Justin M.

Yelp
I ordered the burger and mac and cheese $15.00, and I was very disappointed. The burger was equivalent to what you would feed a child at Pee-wee football game. I ate in three bites and the meat was charcoal burned. I was surprised the chef let that quality of food leave the window to hit a customers table. The noodles on Mac and cheese were almost Al dente and cheese was watery. My wife has the salmon $22.00 and it was underwhelming and burnt flavored as well. I came back because my first experience was great but this second time was lacking quality food for sure.

Allie R.

Yelp
I was super surprised with the food we received from Chop Shop. The quality was excellent. I would come here over and over for the Mediterranean bowl. Only thing that is a turn off is the price point is of that at a sit down restaurant and it is a order at the counter type of place. Besides that we will definitely check out chop shop again.

G T.

Yelp
Cute urban eatery . Service was wonderful and dinner was very tasty! Sat outside and enjoyed the sun and food!

Lyndsay B.

Yelp
This place has amazing food and service! We ordered the Chop Shop Beef and Broccoli and the chicken pastrami sandwich with the Brussel sprouts and HOMEMADE Parmesan French fries . Upbeat music, nicely decorated, and clean! Definitely will come back when we are in the area.

Emily C.

Yelp
3.5/5. I think I ordered badly. I had the pork carnitas rice noodle bowl and thought it tasted a bit off; it may just have been that I was not a huge fan of the sauce, and there was a ton of it. When I was ordering, I was asked if I would like to swap the pork out for chicken, tofu, etc., and I initially went with the chicken option, but then realized I was being charged for both pork and chicken (full price pork bowl without pork, + chicken, coming in at around $19 pre-tax/tip). Once I noticed, I decided to stick with pork, but just a heads up for if you want to swap your protein. The food was ready very quickly and my friend seemed to like what she ordered. Our only other negative was that the music was quite loud and made it a bit tough for conversation. Awesome feature having a parking lot in SoBro. I'll have to come back and hope to update with some more stars!

mary S.

Yelp
Service was prompt and attentive. Always fresh and delicious. I will be a repeat customer.

Jackmerius T.

Yelp
Had a delicious soup & salad combo for lunch here the other day. Service was great, ingredients were fresh, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Definitely going back to try some other things on the menu

Huey Huey A.

Yelp
Good food and service. Good people watching spot. Love the mixed slush drink, music playing, and bid booths.

Gen B.

Yelp
4 stars for the food and 6+ stars for the staff!! I got the pork carnitas rice noodle bowl, which was pretty good. The presentation was great! I liked all the veggies and the poached egg. The hot n' sour sauce was interesting (I probably could have used less of it tbh), but it was good once I added sriracha to the mix. Extra points for clearly marking on the menu which items are GF! :) 6+ stars to the staff because I accidentally left my purse on the back of the chair when dining. I called about 25 minutes later and they already had it secured and waiting for me to pickup. Thank you!!!

Joey R.

Yelp
Great food and service, nice clean place to bring the whole family. Staff are friendly and everything on the menu is the best. Plenty of parking out front

E T.

Yelp
Great place to sit outside and enjoy some good food. We ordered the veggie fried rice with crispy chicken and a French dip with parm fries. The fried rice, chicken and French dip were awesome! Definitely would come Back for those. The parm fries were like warm and perhaps not the freshest. Perhaps because we were there around 1:30 after the lunch crowd. Staff was very nice and attentive! We will be back.

Tarrah T.

Yelp
I so, so, so loved the dish (crispy fried organic tofu). Everyone seemed to really enjoy what they had, and everyone working there was very kind and helpful! Super good food...my only disappointment was that it was a bit pricey.

Pauline L.

Yelp
We stopped in because nothing else was open or that out group I o could agree on... We all agreed this was fantastic! You order at the counter and take a seat to have your food delivered. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The super green salad was unique and delicious! Big enough for leftovers. The French fries were cooked to perfection and were delicious... not your ordinary burger and fries!!

Molli S.

Yelp
Still the best food in Denver! The short ribs are both my favorite and my husband's for so many reasons: The short ribs are always tender enough to cut through with a fork; If allowed, I would literally buy this gravy by the quart; the batter for the onion strings is amazing - always crisp and sweet onions!; and the char on the carrots is consistently *chef's kiss* There is nothing I don't love about this place. I think the value is great for fresh, well prepared food. We'll continue to come back!

Ingrid S.

Yelp
I did not want to cook tonight and I ordered carry out . It was flipping delicious. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was perfect. The carrots were cooked perfectly and the meat was so tender. It was the perfect portion size and I will be eating here again.

Brandon H.

Yelp
All of the food that we ordered was amazing and so was the service! Will definitely make this a regular spot!

Danna O.

Yelp
I love finding great burgers and I found one here at the Chop Shop. And some yummy onion rings. I dont like anything out of a normal burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and mayo/mustard. I go by the patty, not by the strange things place might put on a burger. Just a good honest burger and I am happy. Chop Shop serves it up right, juicy and good. I also love real sugar in my beverages instead of high fructose corn syrup. Chop Shop delivers there too with real sugar fountain drinks. Bringing my friends next time to this little gem on Broadway.

Elizabeth R H.

Yelp
Ordered for pick up and food was still hot when I got home. Always delicious food! Try the onion soup it's fabulous!

Shauna R.

Yelp
This was our 3rd visit and once again it did not disappoint! We actually came here for my birthday dinner and picked up food. Two orders of the 48 hour shift braised, short ribs, and one order of the grilled achiote salmon. THE FOOD IS AMAZING! Best birthday dinner, especially since it was takeout. The short ribs are beyond tender, perfectly seasoned and the demi-glaze sauce is incredible. The mashed potatoes also taste, incredibly homemade and the grilled carrots on the side. We're perfection. The fried onions provide the textural element that makes this dish perfection. My daughter had the grilled achiote salmon and said it was the perfect amount of teriyaki rice and the most incredible grilled vegetables that she's ever had. My son and. I both had the 48 hour braid short ribs, and agree that they're the best we've ever had. Please don't let the outside flu or the inside. This is incredible quality food. Happy birth day to me! One for the books!!!

Lindsey T.

Yelp
This was the best meal my daughter and I have had for a while in Denver. It was a beautiful day and she was wanting to sit on a patio somewhere. It being 4 pm early bird hour for dinner, there was plenty of seating in the shade. We shared the chicken and short rib entrees, and while we enjoyed both we would prefer the chicken. It has a crispy tempura breading and was exceptionally tender and flavorful. We swapped out the polenta side dish for mashed potatoes; the short ribs already came with potatoes. That decision worked out because it was the perfect comfort food. Not a bad deal for the money, the portions were generous and and there were leftovers While the key lime pie was cute as a button in its little tin and graham cracker crust, it tasted odd like there was not quite enough sugar or it was not blended sufficiently. Some bites tasted better than others. Otherwise, I continue to think about this meal and when I will go back again!

Niki G.

Yelp
The food is amazing! I highly suggest the short ribs and the beef and broccoli! Both were amazing. The drink selection is excellent as well. Don't miss this gem!

Andrew C.

Yelp
Chose this place having never been there before for a birthday lunch with our son because it was midway between our homes on the West and East side of town. Our son ordered the crispy chicken sandwich but they brought him a burger (not his favorite meal at all). He's not the type to send something back so he ate it but I could tell he wasn't happy. The lone waitress seemed a little frazzled and forgot to bring us any silverware. Our other meals tasted good so it wasn't a total disaster. Just not very impressed.

Abby B.

Yelp
I would give this place 3.5 stars, but can't. The chicken pastrami was EXCELLENT!! The French Dip just tasted... off. Either the sauce or the Au Jus was weird together. It was more like a simple chopped pork sandwich. Service was excellent, but the prices are outrageous!

Cameron S.

Yelp
The Fried Chicken with polenta was delicious! I was afraid it was going to be too heavy and it was perfect! My wife got a salad and I sampled it too! It was amazing!

Jill S.

Yelp
Great food and fast service. Meatloaf was amazing and portions were ample. I highly recommend.

Bailey H.

Yelp
I have dined in person 2 times and order for delivery! Every time it tastes amazing! It's cute and low-key. The loaded mashed potatoes are a must have.

Lucas L.

Yelp
I am left in awe. I was so hungry and it left me so satisfied. I got the bacon chicken sandwich and the chicken was crispy yet juicy . The buns were perfectly toasted. Everything felt high quality and well crafted. I highly recommend the food here. Plus the environment was clean and very welcoming. Can't say enough good.

Jerilin N.

Yelp
Tasty and fresh! This place is great for both vegetarian and meat lovers. One of my favorites!

Bill A.

Yelp
Kind and of expensive for what they serve and how you essentially wait on yourself. The food is good too, but not great. Atmosphere is kind of blah.

James I.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in without realizing we had arrived just after their business hours (Apple maps had the wrong hours posted). They very graciously served us and didn't even point out that we had arrived late--we didn't realize until we were eating. The food is great and easily punches above its price point. Try the ribs and Brussels sprouts. We will be back (during their actual business hours).

Erin P.

Yelp
Great fresh food, and cool atmosphere for eating in. Lots of healthy options and clean eating priorities

Jacklyn W.

Yelp
Menu prices are quite high for what you get. $18 for drunken noodles with a small portion of salmon is overpriced. The noodle sauce was too heavy and not great in flavor. A large salad with a protein is $20+. There are a few solid menu items but overall price doesn't equal quality.

Ryan D.

Yelp
Food is always consistent, fresh and made on time (I have only ordered takeout). It's a great local spot for a quick bite. My favorite menu item is the chicken pastrami sandwich. Yummmmm

Teri K.

Yelp
You come here truly for the French onion soup.. or at least i do. Its just that good... the cheese they put its not too much nor too little. It also comes with a side of bread to dip in. I'm just hungry thinking about it. You have to order it! If you don't you're missing out. I've also gotten the kimchee fried rice, which wasn't my personal favorite but my fiance loved it! They also serve Boylan's soda here as well

Vanessa W.

Yelp
This is the best takeout I have found in Denver this year. Every time we order the food is perfect. They also have the best salads and best creamy Mac and cheese in town! Thanks Chop Shop for being so reliable!

Kali G.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch before driving back to Texas. The guy at the front was helpful and friendly, he offered suggestions and used the word "redonkulas" to describe the limited time deal. That made me laugh. My hubs ordered the steak and potatoes, I went with a burger with a side of frys. The food came out relatively quick, not fast food speed but definitely faster than a normal sit down restaurant. The staff who delivered the food was friendly (seemed like the whole staff was pretty happy/friendly) I always appreciate a friendly environment. Now let's talk about what really matters... how was the food? Overall good! My husband enjoyed his steak, it had some type of curry flavoring to it that we both found interesting and unique, it wasn't something I would personally seek out again but my husband said he would absolutely order the same thing again. I'm not sure if they placed it in the Tupperware container with the intent to make it look like a body party but the immature part of my husband and I kept cracking jokes and laughing at what he was "presented with" (if you don't see it in the pic than your simply far more mature than we are:) The burger was good, I'd order it again, it wasn't anything different or new but it was a good solid burger, the meat patty had a nice salt and pepper seasoning to it and as a pickle lover I appreciated that they gave more than one pickle, the aole was a nice touch. I ordered a side of frys and holy heck that side of frys was enormous. In TX we often get portions that are a bit large but this was even bigger than what we get back home. Let me just say it this way, you could order the burger and side of frys and two adults would have more than enough food, plus, they tasted great! This place has a cute vibe with the patio, I did notice several homeless people who were acting very drunk hanging out in the parking lot next door so I'd recommend if you do the patio (bc it's so dang cute) than sit on the side close to the front door vs the far corner, if you are not with young kids or that doesn't bother you than sit wherever, there's not a bad seat.

Lauren B.

Yelp
I got Uber eats to deliver the other day and I was blown away that my smoked chicken pastrami sandwich was super crispy even as takeout. It was absolutely delicious and the coleslaw on the sandwich was to die for. I am looking forward to eating in next time.

Chris H.

Yelp
Not bad - Not great. My husband does love the french dip.
