15 Miami-Area Spots For a Tequila-Forward Happy Hour | Eater

"If the thought of tossing an axe at a wooden target (safely, of course) doesn’t scare you, Chops + Hops is the perfect place for your next night out. The upscale tavern menu of beers, savory bar bites, and delicious cocktails will keep you coming back. Try their “That’s What She Said,” made with Milagro Reposado, orange, honey, lemon, and orange bell pepper with some candied bacon before attempting to hit the bullseye." - Vox Creative

I went with a group of friends, and we made it a good time. The place was ghost town empty for a friday night, the mood was a little awkward becuase of this. However, bartender was great and fast, he even made me a wonderful mocktail that was delicious. Instructor was nice and clear. Food was super easy to order with QR code on the table, however no one around if you needed something additional. My disappointment comes, when there's no one there/ waiting to play and they stopped us right on time. I get it we only paid for a certain time but if there's no one going to play after us and youre still open for 3 more hours, you couldve just left us. We were ordering so much food, drinks, shots, but all that stopped when we were told we couldnt play anymore. That was disappointing but overall fun time!

Google
No complaints about the place itself. Food and bartenders are great. What I am disappointed about was the parking company they hired, Professional Parking Management. They issued me an overstay because I used their meter to pay for parking on two separate occasions, they issued the ticket automatically based on the first transaction and the hour of me leaving on their camera, and I got my appeal denied because I could not prove I paid a second time and they didn't bother to look either. I strongly advise you to park elsewhere. I also advise the owners to change the parking company. As much as I enjoyed my time there, I cannot support a business who hires a company like this to manage their parking.

Google
Thus is a fun axe throwing bar. Lots of people to mingle with and make new friends. John is an axe throwing expert Super friendly guy. Makes amazing drinks. They have relocated to this new place. I like the old place better, more room, but they couldn't stay there. I'm glad they didn't just come up and go away. They don't food, but they are located in Sistrunk Market place and you can order food from the various eateries located in the marketplace. Very interesting concept.

Google
I had a great time here. The drinks are amazing. I had a great time playing pool, playing darts and only ended up throwing two axes. I just ran out of time with all of the stuff going on. I had a great time here. I would definitely go back.

Google
It was so much fun! It was my first time and we had a blast. The instructors give you tips on how to throw and they have different games to keep it fun and competitive. I had the espresso martini and it was delish. While we waited we plaid jenga and connect four. Bathrooms were clean. Definitely something I would do again.

Google
Great and fun environment to be. We were greeted by Melissa who was awesome from start to finish! she instructed us on the axe throwing and had the most delicious drinks waiting for us afterwards! This place will definitely become my go-to moving forward for drinks and fun alike!

Yari D.

Google
Our group had so much fun! We felt safe at all times. Our 'guide' kept it challenging by keeping score, giving us tips/techniques to have better aim/throws and was just a nice guy overall. They have a pretty cool bar to keep you hydrated. The music also kept for an upbeat vibe.

Google
This place was nice. Very friendly and inviting vibe. Although I didn’t get to throw the axes I still enjoyed myself. It’s best to set a reservation on the weekends being that someone has to stand with you inside the cage for safety. So I just sat at the bar and had a few drinks. And the prices for drinks was great. I will go back again.

Yelp
Not to brag, but I'm fairly decent at axe throwing. It's a great group activity and an excellent option for corporate team building. I learned about Chops and Hops through my job, again for--you guessed it--team-building fun. This location is a one-stop spot, combining a number of vendors under one roof, from burgers to desserts, all surrounding a bar and a spacious, inviting area. There's ample parking (paid) and plenty of nearby bars and lounges if you want to take your fun to a next location. Their bar menu features beers, specialty cocktails and whiskeys with the option to order from any of the neighboring restaurants, delivered right to your table as you learn how to throw. All of the food choices were delicious--from sliders to wings, pretzel bites, and tots. You have plenty of apps and eats to enjoy while you show your peers who rules!

Yelp
I went to this location when it was elsewhere and came in for a little fun. They had a good amount of people inside having drinks. The bar appears to have an extensive list of liquor but they didn't seem to have many top shelf brands on hand. We enjoyed the axe throwing after a lesson by the staff and board replacement. The staff were attentive and friendly. The entire experience was fun, just wanted better alcohol options.

Yelp
Welll I had no idea this location moved, but they did and unfortunately the new location is not nearly as great as the prior location. It's located within Sistrunk and the area outside of the bldg is not the safest. However, once inside it has a few locations besides Chops and Hops to check out as well. The chops and hops location here though is quite small and congested. It has two areas for axe throwing, it has a pool table and a bar area. For an event with a decent amount of people this spot is not the greatest, but it could be good if your party was less than 6 people. I'm glad I got to check it out, I just wish it was in the same location it was before.

Yelp
The axperts were amazing they helped us be able to kind of find our groove while throwing axes. Pretty nice sized bar with a decent selection of seltzers. When you get the bill you can just check which percentage of gratuity you want to leave and it calculates your bill. No simple math needed anymore!

Yelp
Stopped in while waiting for the rest of our group to go to the spot next door. It wasn't busy at all and it was a Friday night. Ordered a drink called Berry The Hatchett and it was very easy going down! Our bartender was sweet and friendly. I'm glad we had her and wish I could remember her name because she was friendlier than everyone else. Not that they weren't, she was just better. If we were going to be in town longer, I'd hang out here and do some ax throwing. It looked like they had 4 different ax boards and two were empty. This place has dim lights and a chill vibe. They also serve food, but we didn't need any since we had dinner elsewhere.

Yelp
This is such a fun activity but I have to say I thought it was going to be easier to get the axe to stick on the target lol. Very humbling moment to say the least but I would definitely go ahead. I went with someone but because you are grouped up with other people in the cage, it could be a solo date for sure. It's fun to compete with other people in a friendly way. Get there early grab a drink or go to their speakeasy for some chill vibes after.

Yelp
We unexpectedly found this place after seeing a play at the Broward Center because our friend was chilling here before getting a tattoo upstairs. This is a really great spot to hangout at night or during the day, drink some cocktails and throw some axes for spiritual purity and strength; strength and spiritual purity. They have great cocktail options that we enjoyed immensely, and if you are so inclined, can enjoyed some fried eats, grilled cheese, or bacon. If I lived closer, I would come here to hang out and enjoy some hanging bacon and bourbon-based cocktails because unicorns and dancing gnomes with axes and poetry.

Yelp
Great drinks, fun atmosphere, excellent staff... Perfect to watch the game and grab a few drinks. This place is super fun. I came here for my birthday and had an amazing time. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they definitely delivered the fun! Check-in was smooth. They brought us over to our caging area where the axe throwing takes place. They staff went over the rules and safety guilt. He taught us how to properly handle the are, when to throw, and how to throw. He gave us different throwing techniques and a few practice runs. After a few practices, the fun and games started! The bar had a variety of handcrafted cocktails. I had the spicy guava margarita, and it was a hit! We didn't try the food. There was a small selection of finger food items. After axe throwing, we went over to Mama Hanks speakeasy for more drinks and fun! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I recently came with a large group of friends to celebrate my birthday. There was no issue reserving a cage that could fit us all. We check in was easy and we were shown right to out cage. The axe master was with us the entire time and showed everyone how to play and offered tips and tricks to the ones of us that were struggling with the axes. The drinks were good and they had a good special on a bucket of seltzers. The food was not great though. Everyone in the group that got something, didn't enjoy it/had something to say about it. I would say if you were to come, come for the game and the drinks!
google avatar

Marcy Y.

Yelp
Chops and Hops made my first axe throwing experience real fun. Went for a friends birthday as a group. There's a bar and several "cages" of axe throwing. They also have food and a bar inside which is nice. The instructor stays in the cage with the group the entirety of the time and helps with your form and aids with the games. I wasn't great at it but did get the axe to stick a couple of times! It is $40 per person. They also have a backyard section with cute palm trees and chairs setup if you want to just hang and chat. They don't really have a private lot. It's street parking with some free spots near the building or pretty spacious inexpensive Pay By Phone metered parking down the road.
google avatar

Tes S.

Yelp
I had such a great time learning to throw an ax and the various games that could go along with it... However, the general vibe at the place was the star of the show! Everyone was into it, the music was 10/10, the drinks ... pretty pretty good! Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Super fun activity! Highly recommend for a day out. They show you how to throw and go through everything you should know ahead of time. Once you got the hang of it you and the group keep score. I didn't try the food it had a tasty cocktail. It's a loud place of course with the axe throwing. So be prepared. The only thing I don't like is you can't call them they don't answer and there's not an option to talk to someone.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Cute set up! Nice place to come with a group of friends or date night with other couples! You can make reservations or walk in but always recommend rsvp. For drinks I hate the six axe super good! Hands down and food I had their poached shrimp roll on challah bread with a side of totes. The roll bread was to much for me tbh i had to pick some bread off to actually enjoy the shrimp.... I didn't really enjoy that dish so much tbh, some other ppl in the group said the same about the food too something about tasting like frozen tenders.... But overall the spot is cool and fun drinks are on point! And the staff was friendly and nice!

Yelp
I'm not surprised this place has a perfect five stars. It's so much fun! Our most recent trip was on a Friday night, and it was $35 a person (although a bit more with the annoying online reservation fees) for a 70-minute session. Our host, Fran, was awesome! She quickly picked up on our group dynamics to break us up into teams and joke around with us, was patient in teaching us, and gave great tips to help us improve. The atmosphere is fun, the drinks are good, unique, and strong, and it's completely safe. The perfect outing for a date night or family outing. A few tips: -Please know that if your party is small, you'll probably be paired with another small party. -Definitely make reservations ahead of time as well in order to make sure you get your spot. -parking in the area kind of sucks, so leave yourself plenty of time so you don't miss your reservation

Yelp
My grad school program alumni group just had a great gathering there (Go Gators!) and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They do arrangements for food and beverages on a group tab and even set up a side table for us (between the ax cages in the back). We enjoyed a few hours of camaraderie and tasty beverages! I haven't been there since before covid so I'm happy to see it's still as awesome as it used to be! Tip: if you're just going for the bar, consider wearing closed toe shoes in case someone tempts you into ax throwing!

Yelp
My friends and I really enjoyed Axe throwing at Chops + Hops. I wore the wrong shoes but they we're prepared with rental's and socks. Matt was awesome and picked out some fun games for us. While we waited for our friend Carla to arrive he stepped in and was Carlos. The "Tenders + Tots" we're delicious. The chicken tenders we're covered in a Buffalo sauce served with ranch and the Tots we're garlic Parmesan served with ketchup. Very filling and I'll definitely order this again. We had a group of 6 which cost $40 pp plus tax for the hour. I recommend using rideshare or carpooling since they don't have much parking.

Yelp
I enjoyed my night at Chops and Hops. They have live music on the weekends- the band was singing some great reggae hits. We had a few drinks at the bar. The axe throwing is relatively cheap no more than $40. We decided to go last minute and they had slots available for 10:00 pm on a Saturday night. Prepare to have fun! If you're a competitor- you have the opportunity to compete with your friends and family. Overall my night here fun filled. It was my very first time throwing an axe. I can't wait to try again.

Yelp
Great place to go axe throwing. We had a great time! The service was good and we ended up pairing up with a fun group and I ended up being the axe champion lol good times! Would definitely come back again!

Yelp
First time coming to this establishment and I was skeptical at first but let me tell you it was so much fun. The drinks were excellent I loved it so much. The price was good too they have specials sometimes so look for that. Elijah was the best I recommend him to be your teacher for the axe throwing. He was super friendly and patient with us. The cage fits 8 people so if you have a party of eight and can get the same time on the appointments great if not you have to share which is also okay cause you meet people. Kind of hard to get a drink at the bar cause it's full but I guess it was food for me because I was getting a little tipsy. The ambiance is a very rugged and masculine but great vibes the music was a great mix and I had an awesome experience. Thank you to Elijah hospitality I will return.

Yelp
I had an awesome time with my friends axe throwing. This was my first time and decided to check this place out. We made our reservation online and when we got there, we signed a waiver. The place was pretty full expectedly for a Friday. The ambiance was very bar like and causal. We headed to the bar to have a cocktail while we waited for our start time. I ordered the sex panther which you can choose between rye or mezcal. I'm a tequila gal so I went with the mezcal. It came with passion fruit, hibiscus tea, honey and lemon. It was delicious and very boozy. The bartenders attended to us very quickly and were very friendly. We were trained on how to throw he axe and given our safety rules. The attendant was with us the entire time, giving us tips and tricks. We even got competitive and were divided into teams. It was a great night.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
We had drinks at the bar since we were early to our reservations at Mama hanks next door. We sat at the bar which was quite busy for a Saturday night but we were attended quickly. The drinks were blended perfectly. Volume level is high due to the axe throwing. I've tried the axe throwing on a pervious visit a few years ago and it was a good time. I remember the staff giving good instructions on how to hold the axe and throw it. It's a nice thing to do on a date night or with a group of friends.
google avatar

Lesley C.

Yelp
My husband and I had the best time here. The drinks were amazing. The espresso martini was phenomenal... still has me thinking about it! They explained the process and come check on you. Great date night! Can't wait to come back
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty sad to have drove from w. Miramar only to have arrived to a closed establishment. No sign nothing. Website said open until midnight and we arrived around 9:30pm It's not often I get a night out without the kids. I was looking forward to releasing some frustrations!
google avatar

Krista C.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I've never been axe throwing but had a great time. You are out in a group with other if you don't have many people. The instructors are great and they stay with you the entire time. I was a little nervous but it was really fun. They also have other games and a bar and connected restaurant. Parking is not the best but very close to other bars you can easily Uber to. Great option to check out for axe throwing. Very fun and good music as well.
google avatar

Angie G.

Yelp
Had such a great time this is great for a date night or with friends. Our instructor Carlos was great. They have a great selection of drinks and food. The pricing varies depending on the time you go and it's best to book online. Make sure you wear closed toe shoes and loose fitting clothing

Yelp
Great place to throw axes with your friends! Loved the space and the attention we had from the staff made it so much better! Food is tasty and drinks are strong. Prices are reasonable too. Miami is just too expensive these days! Lol! Will be back for more fun soon! Oh and parking is on the street.

Mark S.

Yelp
Wish the outdoor section was more connected to the restaurant but the food was tasty and service was great

Yelp
Looking for a fun night out that will have your social media accounts lighting up from the pics? Well look no further than Chops and Hops! Grab the most fun people in your circle and head over to this unique Axe Throwing Lodge. Did I say AXE? You bet I did! Located in Flager Village this is one unique way to do a team building event, celebrate your special day or just to have fun! I took my work team of 30 people of varying ages there to throw some axes, drink some drinks (hmmm . . . axe throwing and drinks?) and just blow off a little steam! This place is fun! And given they don't have a kitchen yet, they let you order in food that your gang can munch on while perfecting their axe throwing prowess. And the drinks? The bartenders extrodinaire make this place worth going to just for the drinks and to sit at their bar or out on their outdoor patio catching up with those in your circle or to meet new people. They go out of their way to explain the rules and of course, safety is paramount as you are actually throwing real axes. I have done this in other cities and this Throwing Lodge does it right. Are there rules? Sure. You have to be 21 and must wear closed toe shoes (did I say safety first?) but that's about it. The cost ranges from $25-$40 a person depending on the time and day you go. We went on a Wednesday night and were in the $25 a person range. Also important to note that there are no refunds, so once you book and pay, you are in! Parking is on the street and there was plenty of availability at least on a week night. Go gather your axe throwing friends and head over for night people will still be talking about long after the thrill of the competition has passed. Axe throwing! It's what you should be doing tonight!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing place they have a bar and games like Jenga and connect 4. The play time is 70 minute we went on a Thursday and got to just play both of us. We got Michelle in our cage. We was so helpful and amazing. This was my guest then and she made the experience so much better. What a fun place!

Yelp
This was incredibly fun!! It took a second to get the hang of it but once we did, we had a blast. Make a reservation because it fills up fast and be prepared to share your slot with a group! We made some friends. They share a kitchen with the speakeasy nextdoor (which was an indication of how good that food would be!!) we got a couple drinks (all phenomenal) and the charcuterie + bacon. Oh my god the bacon.... You won't regret it! Your instructor takes you threw a couple different games, we were there about an hour and a half! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Had a great date night here. Was so fun and LOVED their espresso martinis. Such a good atmosphere I could hang out here and drink all day

Yelp
Had a fun time at Chops + Hops. Easy to register online in advance and book a time slot. I appreciated that a staff member came to help facilitate games and train any newbies, but didn't feel like they needed to be there the whole time. There were a couple of things I didn't like: -They match you with random couples (even when there are open boards) so that you are playing in a large group of 8 (reducing the amount of time you get to actually throw.) -They definitely want you to go to the bar first...the bar only has a couple staff which is fine except that it cuts into playing time -They are very prescriptive with the gameplay, which is great for some groups, but doesn't allow for self-determined competitions (like trying to beat my significant other...) -Very little parking on the street.

Yelp
Went for a private event. Super fun, nice settings and friendly staff. Everyone had a great time.

Yelp
Great place to go with friends. I went with three others, and it was our first time axe throwing. EXPERIENCE We all felt safe and loved it. We aren't athletic, and nobody felt like a loser. There's an employee in the 'cage' with you to be a referee and game facilitator. There was the perfect mixture of orderliness and fun. I wish I remembered the employee's name 'cause she's awesome. She helped us improve and maintained a positive energy. She led us through multiple games. She also had a great eye for the group photos at the end. - I thought there'd be a lot of paperwork, but it was actually quite quick and simple - but not toooo simple. I repeat: we felt safe. :) FOOD & DRINK I don't drink, but my friend lovvvved her espresso martini. The tater tots were tasty. I wish we'd ordered one of those awesome bacon items. OTHER NOTES First, plan to arrive early. The nearest public parking garage was a 5-6 minute drive away. You'll most likely do parallel street parking. - Second, I would not recommend this venue if you have a party member who has sensory sensitivity. It can be very loud at times, especially if there is a large celebration. - Third, bring hand sanitizer. The venue has bathrooms, but your friends won't wash their hands between every turn with the axe and their next bite of tater tots. I did not see hand sanitizer from the business. - Fourth, don't forget to take slow-mo videos. You'll have a great time. I'd go again.

Yelp
Went with my whole family! We had a great time. It was my second time with the family. We will go back again! Love this place! I wished they had more variety of food on the small menu.

Yelp
Late Friday night was my 2nd time to Chops + Hops, contrasting nicely to my previous visit which was just after opening on a Saturday afternoon. Unlike the almost empty venue I'd previously experienced - it was a thriving affair for sure, but luckily despite only having the 4 cages we were still set up and ready to go within about 20 minutes. I think my favorite aspect of the activity is its relative ease. The learning curve from having never thrown before to getting on the board is quick, and while you'll probably have some hits that won't stick or miss the scoring zone still, you don't need to be particularly sporty or athletic to feel you're accomplishing something within no time. On the previous outing, there were 3 of us so the instructor joined us for games in pairs, this time we joined with another group of people and he mixed us up rather than just teaming us up with our friends. It worked well! We all cheered each other on and had little jokes within no time, and as the instructor filled in the missing slot again he was able to control the games so there weren't big one sided blowouts. It definitely gives you the impression they can control the evening depending if you're there for purely fun (like we were) or took this seriously. Cocktails and music were good, the ambience totally suits the activity and I'm sure most people trying this for the first time will enjoy themselves. I don't think I'm going to be seeing this as a calling to do it frequently, but also not averse to friends suggesting it as an activity if they've never tried it before. I'm glad they've opened up, and hope they stay successful going forward.

Yelp
It was my first time going and I loved it. It was so much fun. Made reservations the week before. It's a must b/c weekends get sold out very quickly. They have a bar right in the middle of the place with TVs. You can order drinks and food and they will bring it out to you. You have a little ledge that is right outside the cage so you can place your drinks on while you throw. The staff was very friendly. They have an employee in the cage guiding you and keeping your score. I forgot the guy that was with us but he was young with curly hair. He was awesome!! They pair you off in twos to play in teams. You have 3 axes to choose from to be able to throw. Now that I had some practice, I will definitely be back to sharpen my skills. I highly recommend. It was a great date night! You also need to wear closed toe shoes in order to throw. The only Con is the parking situation. Be sure to read your confirmation email on where you can park so you don't get towed.

Yelp
So much fun!!!! My co workers and I went to Chops and Hops for our company Christmas party. To be honest, I was a little annoyed that we were going there because, I wanted to go to a lounge. Boy am I glad I went! We had a BLAST!! Our guide was so friendly and fun! He taught us everything we needed to know and was VERY clear about safety precautions, which I loved! The bartenders were so nice! There was a drink I had seen on an old menu that I wanted to try but, it was no longer available. I told the bartender what i like and he made something especially for me! It was DELICIOUS!!!!!! (That is saying a lot because I'm picky with drinks.) The music was awesome! We danced, drank, threw axes, and laughed like crazy! It was such a good time that we closed the place down. We did not want to leave! Chops and Hops is a MUST visit! You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Axe throwing is one of my new favorite hobbies thanks to Chops and Hops. My husband and I had a blast and I can't wait to do this again. It was our first time but for some reason my husband was throwing like a pro! Our instructor was excellent and he had a great attitude and was very patient. He was a great teacher and made everyone in the group feel like winners. Chops + Hops is great for date nights or group events like birthdays, graduations, etc. but you need a reservation via their website. I would love to bring family here in the future for a large events. As far as the food, we ordered tater tots which were hot and delicious and blue moon beers. I wanted the passion fruit cider but it was unavailable. Next time I would like to try more options from the bar but the axe throwing experience was top tier for me.

Tyleranne T.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years. They have completely changed the way the cages work. Before they had axeperts in the cage to facilitate games and keep everyone having fun. This time we went and the person got us started by explaining the rules and after starting the first game they left. The back patio area is no longer there, now it's parking. Please bring back the patio and all of the axeperts. Drinks are good but now no kitchen for bar bites. Whole new staff

Yelp
Great place for date night or group hangout! Recommend a group of minimum four, but they are able to place you in a mixed group if needed. Drinks are great and they even have an outside hangout area along with live music. Parking is horrible so please do yourself a favor and uber!!! We had a reservation for friday at 8pm so you can imagine the lack of street spaces since there is no private parking lot. Staff was amazing!! Great customer service & overall can't wait to be back :)

Yelp
One of my best friends gather a group of yelpers to celebrate her early birthday here. Kat was our server and she was very nice, I started off with the guava margarita which was pretty good I just wish the cup was bigger lol we were also hungry so we decided to order food and hate to say it i wish i would have never ordered food. I got the buffalo tenders with tots and let me just say it literally tasted like frozen food that was just thrown in the oven to heat up my friend and i didnt even finish the food. The worse $15 I've spent! Aside from this axe throwing is definitely something fun and different and very hard to do lol. So i would only recommend this place for drinks and playing!

Yelp
My friends and I had so much fun here! We reserved a spot for 5 of us and joined with another random group of 3. If your party is less than 8, I believe you will have to join with others unless there's no one else come at that slot time. If you don't like that, I think it's best to book at the earliest time so the chance to have others to join you is less. We booked at 9:30pm and we didn't mind to have fun with others so it was ok for us. It was our first time and it was so fun even tho I missed 90% of the aims LOL. We had so much laugh with our instructor/ Axepert too. He explained everything clearly and taught us how to throw like a pro! Bartenders were super nice and friendly. Price for the cocktail was reasonable. I ordered Berry the hatchet and it was so good! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
What an interesting concept, a bar with signature cocktails and great craft beer, where you can throw axes at targets. Hmmm.... wonder why no one else thought of this sooner. So I landed here on a rainy Sunday with Yelp friends because there were wine drinkers in the bunch and we had just finished up at a brewery in the area. Have to keep it fair right. When we walked in, the place was pretty packed. They opened at 2 on Sunday and we got there about 3ish. You have to make an appointment to throw the axes and it is about $25-40 for a 90 minute session, depending on the date and time. They give you instruction on how to throw the axes and have you sign a waiver. No one in our party wanted to throw the axes. It was just as fun to watch. The reggae music was blasting to basically drown out the thump, thump, thump of the axes hitting the targets. It was loud in there, but not so loud that we couldn't have conversations. What I liked most is their signature drinks and craft brews. Thank you to one of the owners Chace who explained the concept and our server Chris who helped us have a great time.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best Axe Throwing places in South Florida. They have a great selection of drinks and beer not to mention appetizers! The key for me that really distinguishes this place is the Axe Specialist. They keep customers fully engaged through out the time you are there. You can rent your cage for an hour and usually they try to fill it with a party of 8 if possible based on bookings. The "Axe-pert" shows you how to throw the axe and you have multiple chances. They also crack jokes and stay engaged by creating fun games for everyone and go as far as splitting people into teams. This creates more involvement and fun for everyone as now your party becomes a full party and you get to know other people who may be sharing your cage with you. I have gone to this place on 4 occasions and it's never been disappointing. I heard there is a Speak Easy coming next door. I will have to go back and check that out as well. And outside there is a seating section if you want to step out for a talk or hangout and often live bands are there as well playing popular music as well!

Yelp
first axe throwing lodge, Simple. Throw Axes. Drink Beer + Cocktails and Wine something different but still a good time. If you are going to throw axes don't come in flip flops.

Yelp
I came to visit on a Saturday night with a friend and we had such a good time! We made a reservation and showed up on time, they made us wait for a bit, but there was a bar so you could wait at the bar until your section is ready. I enjoyed it! They teach how to throw and keep score for you, which is probably the best part! I really Liked it because they had live music and other games or things to do. Really cool spot for a hangout!

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing. I've been a number of times and the service is great every time. The drinks are amazing too! My favorite is their old fashioned with honey and lemon. Most recently, I celebrated my birthday here... we booked online and had an area separated for us. The area had some chairs, a couch, and tables. It was perfect to hold the groups belongings and keep everyone together. The axepert was great! She created teams and kept score for us. She also helped everyone learn the right form to throw! You can come here for just drinks, which I definitely recommend. But if you're axe throwing, bring a group it's fun!

Yelp
What a great time! This was my first time axe throwing and though I sucked We had an awesome time. There is an assigned Ax expert in the cage with you the entire time and you get to practice before the "games" begin. They book 8 people to a cage, so we were a group of 4 and were paired up with 4 other people and we had a great time cheering each other on! We also ordered food and it was yummy - we ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup and added bacon to the grilled cheese - very very good, we also had the chicken Cesar wrap and added bacon to it (can you tell we like bacon lol) and it was very delicious. Great size portion. Make a reservation before you go to reserve your time and you can get there early and hang out at the bar before your time is called. The bartenders, ax masters and all of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend checking this place out.
