I had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Chopt Salad Co in Union Station! From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with genuine smiles and great energy. They were fast, friendly, and made the ordering process so smooth, even during the busy rush. The food was outstanding — everything was incredibly fresh, crisp, and flavorful. You can really taste the quality in every bite. My salad was chopped perfectly and balanced with all the right ingredients. The portions are generous, and you leave feeling satisfied but not weighed down. What impressed me most was how quickly they prepared my order without compromising on quality. Even with a line, the wait time was minimal and the team worked seamlessly together. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and food made this one of the best quick-serve dining experiences I’ve had in DC. If you’re at Union Station and want something fresh, healthy, and delicious, Chopt Salad Co is the place to go. Highly recommend!

This is the second time I’ve ordered their salad from Uber Eats, and will be the last. They make my salads soooo dry, despite me requesting “regular” quantity. It’s almost like they spray the salad dressing on my leaves. I ask for items on my salad that never make it on, despite paying extra. I’m not paying for a dry, bare bone salad. Whoever’s in charge of adding the dressing is stingy.

Melissa W.

Google
Do not order from this location. Twice now our office has ordered from here through the Chopt website. And twice our salads have not arrived. When I called to speak with the manager, he told me it wasn't their problem, that they gave the order to Uber to deliver, and he wouldn't refund us or send new salads.

Dee S.

Google
My experience here was an unfortunate one. From the under staffed employees, to the rude male manager, I don’t know what irritated me more. The line was out the door, with only 4 employees trading roles preparing walk in salads for customers, preparing and handling Uber eats orders, working the register and doing things in the back. 4 employees, I literally waited 30 mins for an $8 salad to be made. There was some confusion with my order, which got worked out but overall I was heavily disappointed with the service from staff, the uncleanliness of the restaurant and I won’t be going to this location again.

Google
Found chicken in my vegetarian wrap. Staff was rude and I didn't get a side of dressing, bread, or utensils which I specifically asked for in the pick up order.

Been here a few times. Never really had any problems. Staff has always been nice. The new manager (sorry if I spell your name wrong) Yemi is doing a fantastic job.

Jacqueline G.

Google
The workers here are extremely rude and lazy. It’s pretty frustrating when the staff refuses to chop the salad and gets frustrated when you ask. Isn’t the name of this place “chop’t”? It doesn’t seem like too much to ask when you’re paying 18+ dollars for a salad.

Food is as expected. Employees couldn't seem to give a duck. 1:30pm on a Wednesday I stood at the counter waiting to give my order for 3 minutes before anyone even looked at me. There were 7 employees in sight. And only 2 customers ahead of me. Only one seemed to be doing anything, wiping the counter near me. It is unfortunate when you are less than 5 feet from someone yet still need to say excuse me three times before they acknowledge you exist. Looked like my salad was handled by 4 different people before being completed. Many of their beverages are in aluminum cans. After I had paid I asked for a straw. I was given a very dismissive "we don't have straws". Ok, says I. I asked for a cup of ice. No cups. Also in a dismissive tone. I looked at the two employees and noted that they just sold me a can that could have had rats running across it in shipping or storage. It was theatrically beautiful but as a customer frustratung when two employees look at you and say in unison and harmony "we don't have straws" I understand wanting to reduce plastic waste, and that the "no straws" and "no cups" policies support that. This, however, given no paper alternatives and selling items that should go with one or the other is a business being cheap. Why , yes, I am the guy that replied "I wish I could take my top back"

Yelp
Really great customer experience from the staff on deck, they were super kind and explanatory. They were sanitary with the food (which is hard to maintain considering how many ingredients they need to prepare). The wrap was made almost instantly and was so packed and secure. The actual wrap had a good variety of texture, leafy greens, full portion of protein, and a flavorful mix of toppings that made each bite unique. Left feeling very full and satisfied! There was plenty of seating and each had charging ports.

Yelp
If you get to read the police reports about crimes that happen near Union Station, you might likely be scared to come. I mean it's a whole travel depot, stuff happens. Now, I know there is always a chance to get robbed in broad daylight but not by a business. That's exactly what happened. I went with my co-worker who asked if I would go with her, I agreed, I needed to get some steps in. We get to Chopt Creative and I'm excited, I would have preferred Canes or Unos Pizzeria but a salad sounds healthy. I got a Cobb Salad, no blue cheese please! The way the workers get down with making salads is wild, there were about 8 people behind the counter, all making salads. Like little salad soldiers. So the whole experience is cool, and it's fresh but that is where my enthusiasm ends. I got to the end of that counter and heard the price. I wanted to give it back. Actually I did think for a second of pretending to not have my card but didn't want my co-worker to have to pay. Ugh, so I paid. The salad was a salad, $17 dollar salad. Ummm, honestly I rather go down the hall and get a side, and drink with something super unhealthy. Why in the world is salad more expensive than food food? This is a hard no for me! For healthy people, sure. Have at it, all yours! Ambiance is causal. Admittedly, the salad was pretty good but not $17 good. I get why people come, but if I was into salads I'd make my own and bring it to work. In my Donna Summer voice, "she works hard for her money". Yeah no $17 salads for me.

Yelp
I enjoy a salad, even more so when someone else makes me that salad. Many of my coworkers have had from here and always recommend it as a quick stop to pick up lunch. On one of the few days that I did not bring a lunch and was at Union Station I decided to give a try. With this being Union Station this was a busy stop. For me, being a first time visitor, I needed a minute to look over the menu. I should have done this ahead of time, but time slipped away from me that day and here I was standing back, looking at the menu. Finally decided on what I was going to get, Classic Cobb Salad, and approached the line. It was confusing at first, so much going on and multiple employees running the line. I wasn't sure who I needed to place my order with but was able to get it started. Going down the assemble line I just watched as they put my order together and made my way to pay. Once I paid I was set to make my way out the door. I had no idea how chaotic this place was going to be. Once I grabbed a bag, utensils, and napkins, I was out the door. The taste of the salad was decent. It tasted better since I didn't have to chop everything up and put it together. But for the serving size I don't feel like the price was correct.

Yelp
Who knew pulverizing your salad into tiny pieces would make it taste so much better. The Mexican Caesar salad is one of my favorite salads out there. My favorite part is pretending I'm being healthy while eating a salad that has Heavy dressing and 1000 Calories. Please don't tell me the real number I didn't look it up. Quick staff gets you through the line quickly too.
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Was thrilled to learn of this assembly-line concept for salads, but my "Classic Cobb" was very imbalanced consisting primarily of romaine, leaving alot to be desired. Additionally, a complimentary roll would go a long way.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
A solid lunch spot to grab a hearty and tasty salad to go. I like to order ahead so I can just grab it and go. The Mexican Caesar salad is a fav. A tasty take on a classic that packs just a little spicy punch. I also like to create my own salad. There are so many options and toppings and dressings to choose from! I like to basically create a chopped wedge salad. Their pickled red onion la are yum. And definitely get extra salad dressing. If you want a good salad, this is a spot that can deliver.
google avatar

Yelp
one of my favorite items to get before I board the train. Easy to eat on the train, convenient, lots of options.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best salads around. Many choices, including grain base or lettuce base. Tasty dressings are on point.

Yelp
The food was tasty, the customer service was excellent and the location clean. Highly recommended if you are at Union Station and need a bite to eat.

Yelp
Chopt Creative Salad Co. at Union Station in DC is a great place to go for delicious and fresh salads and much more. The staff here is very friendly and efficient at getting everything together. I have had a really good experience every time that I have been here.

Yelp
Can't get enough of this salad it's ridiculous!!!! My own creation is still the most amazing salad I've ever had (see below). And it's the most perfect post workout meal! Or just regular every day meal. As for this specific location, I came here on a Tuesday night ten min before close. I had great and efficient service. When I noticed a piece of some other food in my salad, I asked the guy putting together the ingredients to remove it. He did so. Then when he was about to put in the falafel, he noticed some other pieces of food that didn't belong there and removed those even before I had to ask him first. I thought that was so thoughtful. Seems simple enough but so many others wouldn't have bothered. Otherwise I will continue to be a regular at Chopt until the day I can no longer go. Here's my must try salad !! 1. Mixed greens (kale, cabbage, etc) 2. Corn 3. Beans 4. Avocado 5. Falafel 6. Fresh mozzarella balls (though today I tried the cojita cheese instead. DELICIOUS) 7. Egg whites 8. Mexican Caesar dressing Next time I'll try it with tortilla chips! This salad always lasts me two meals it's so big! But at the same time I WANT it to last two meals. Really I want it to last forever if I could. Mouth watering! If you try it let me know what you think !

Yelp
I love Chopttttttttt. It's one of the highlights every time I'm in the DMV area. The same guy behind the counter is who helped me the last time in June. He was so helpful as I tried each and every dressing haha. Anyways, I made my own salad with kale & arugula as the base, with toppings such as eggs, apples, cranberries, carrots, and the sesame ginger dressing. Lovedddddd it!!

Yelp
Good for a quick salad, but would not be my salad of choice. The topping to salad mix was light on toppings, heavy on salad, so it felt a bit overpriced as a whole. Atmosphere: Line can be long during prime lunch hours, especially within Union station, but the max wait time I've had has probably been 15 minutes - they generally move fast! Food: The salad quantity was filled to the brim of the container (which was great), but I felt like the predominant mix was just the salad base, which was spinach and romaine mix for me. I was hoping for a bit more protein/toppings added; when I was eating the salad, I felt like I was just eating the greens for 75% of the time. This is healthier, I suppose? But I wished there was a bit more flavoring AKA toppings in the mix. One caveat: Because they are moving really fast, some of the toppings are accidentally mixed into other topping containers as the employees move down the salad line. For example, there was a single crouton mixed in with one of the toppings I got, and I bit into that without paying attention - I had been trying to go lower-carb, so that was a bit of an unfortunate surprise for me. Just be the lookout for unintentional toppings, in case you're trying to avoid specific ones! Overall: 3/5 - Decent salad, but not my go-to salad place; seems a bit pricey for a lot of romaine and spinach, pretty much.

Yelp
I really love salad but for some reason when visiting Chopt, I always order the same thing - Caesar salad! I opted for a "healthy" dinner before my Amtrak train to Connecticut for the Thanksgiving holiday. (Union Station was a zoo to say the least!) Unfortunately, there was a romaine lettuce epidemic and it was being recalled from literally EVERYWHERE, which was fine for me because I am more of a spinach salad girl anyways. My go to order: Spinach, Grilled Chicken, Parmesan, Croutons, half Mexican Caesar and half regular Caesar dressing mixed - amazing combo. If you love caesar salad, the mexican caesar dressing is a great option because it's the caesar you love with an awesome kick! I've had their traditional mexican caesar salad but unfortunately with the chopped jalapeños is a little too spicy for my palette so i just stick with the dressing with my traditional caesar. WARNING: The dressing is spicy so i personally cut it with the regular caesar to tone it down a bit. You can't go wrong with Chopt for a quality salad. Veggies and proteins are fresh and tasty, staff is friendly and quick and this location in particular looked newly renovated so it was very nice and modern looking. I also have the app on my phone and automatically get rewards! #score
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Not the best chopt location. I've only been a handful of times, and it seems like each time they're either out of a topping I want, or they get something wrong on my salad (I typically order with the app and just pick up). The line can get long and move slowly. I still enjoy the salads, but the service and quality here are off.
google avatar

Steacy L.

Yelp
I eat lunch here often because it's one of the healthier lunch options close to my office building. If it weren't for the convenience i would never eat here again. 1) Get ready for "salad soup". No matter how many times i ask for "just a little dressing", inevitably i get back to my office with a mushy bowl of lettuce that's floating in a ton of dressing. It's gross and it defeats paying for a "healthy lunch". 2) The line setup is inefficient, oftentimes the people behind me in line get their order taken before me depending upon which sub-line i'm directed to. Wouldn't be a big deal if i wasn't in a rush (most days i am).

Yelp
I am extremely grossed out. I have had the chopped Caesar salad with chicken more times than I can count. I have eaten at this location multiple times over the years as I work and live close to Union Station. One day in late March, during the lunch rush, I saw the line was non-existent a decided to go (the weekday lunch line here is among the longest in Union Station). However, it turned out that they were closed and many of the employees were scarring around. I thought it was something like a mechanical malfunction or something else. I went somewhere else and totally forgot about the experience. It turns out that, according to the April 4, 2018, Washington Post health code violations notice page (article by Terence McArdle), that they were closed for operating without hot water and because of insects, rodents, and other pests. It was reopened the next day. Solid pass for me on this location. Vermin may invade old buildings like Union Station from time-to-time. Especially around food outlets. Hot water tanks may malfunction. It happens. However, if and when those things do happen the staff should shut it down until fixed. There is no report about whether the violations were self reported or the result of a routine Health Department inspection. If self reported, kudos to the management and to the team. If not, shame on them because if they washed their hands or the cooking surfaces and utensils somebody should have felt that the water was not hot. Someone should have seen or been actively looking to ensure that no vermin were present. No amount of profit is worth risking making people ill or worse. The Chop't website makes no mention of the matter and does not list an explanation or list of remedial measures. Perhaps the actual store has something posted? Check all of this out for yourself and decide if this is a quick serve restaurant you feel comfortable frequenting. No stars for me. Unfortunately, Yelp has a mandatory one star minimum rating system. Would that they allowed an award of zero stars (or negative stars) or listed health code violations and health code scores. As with anything we consume, caveat emptor!!!!

Yelp
I'd go to cava or sweet green over chopt. The bowls are actually pretty good but the quality of the food at sweet green is better. Also the service is not the greatest at this location. My friend and I asked for just a bit of salad dressing and they poured a ton on. I couldn't understand what he was saying but apparently he said let me know when to stop... but by that point it was already too late. Then the cashier took at least 5 minutes per person to check out and grab a to go bag. There was no one in line but I didn't think it should've taken this long.
google avatar

Bhavna A.

Yelp
I was already having a bad day that resulted in me missing the stupid Megabus which always leaves right on the dot when you need it to be 2 minutes late and takes 1.5 hours to leave when you're there and waiting like a homeless person. So here I was bumming around Union Station waiting for my next bus, and looking for food. Tip: don't think too much when it comes to food. Use your intuition and go with what your gut says. After all your gut is the one that's going to see all that food anyways. I don't know if it's just this chop'd location or all of them are tragically crappy, but I came in here and saw a menu so huge and overwhelming that I decided to go with one of their "seasonal favorites." Boy was that a mistake. With the Tres chillies whatever they doused on the chili oil crunch which was salty and shitty and basically overpowered the entire salad and killed my taste buds. Nothing else including the quinoa, sweet potatoes or beans has ANY taste. I don't know if my taste buds can taste again. That's how awful it was. Yuck. I will never go to Chop'd as long as I live. It's only "Just salad" for me!
google avatar

Sam T.

Yelp
I am a big fan of Chop't. This location is no different than my other outstanding experiences at other locations. They are always busy with the lunchtime crowd but they always seem to make great quality salads no matter how busy they are. The employees always have a positive attitude even while up to their heads in salad orders. My go to is the Kale Caesar!
google avatar

Jane L.

Yelp
I have used apps to order ahead at several places in Union Station and Chopt gave the best service by far! I got there a bit early so I took a seat first to wait until it was closer to my checkout time. A gentleman behind the counter noticed that I had glanced at the pre-ordered bags behind him and asked me if I ordered from the app. I said, yes, and gave him my name. I think my order wound up being ready 5 min early and he brought it to me at my seat. Maybe that's normal for them but I have had pretty mediocre to terrible experiences from other restaurants, so I was amazed. Come to think of it, I also had great customer service from Chopt online. I had an issue with a promo credit and they responded very quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite salad spots, located in the main hall of Union station is Chop't. It's a chain but this particular location is one of my favorites because of the options they offer. Depending on when you visit the line can be ridiculous, but on this Sunday evening it was fairly empty. I ordered my usual, the classic Cobb w/ kale mixed greens, sub the avocado for fresh jalapeños, and sub blue cheese crumbles for American white cheddar. It's a good size portion and the kale usually fills me up. I feel like what makes these salads so good is the dressing options. There are so many to choose from and even seasonal salads/dressings. Today I got the chimichuri ranch & texmex ranch mixed. It was really good. So if you're in the DC area or Manhattan New York. Drop in and check it out.
google avatar

Ru L.

Yelp
Those traveling through Union Station in DC and need a quick and healthy bite to eat ought to stop by Chopt and grab one of their great salads. Probably the first restaurant that actually offered a keto option and it was Tex-Mex friendly too. I had the Mexiketo Carnitas salad: Leafy greens, carnitas, pepitas, and green goddess dressing with avocados and served warm. It really hit the spot. The salads, except this one, are served in deep dish bowls that are pretty big. You're gonna get full if you can finish it off, but the best thing is you won't feel guilty afterwards.

Yelp
This is my guilty pleasure!! It's pricey for a salad but it's worth every single penny!!! I literally get the same salad (Mexican Cesar) every time because it's just that delicious !! I highly recommend it! Plus it's such a large portion, yum! This place is always crowded around lunch time but even so they have a good system going and you can be in and out in about 15 minutes. If you haven't been here before, go! Update: Obviously came here again. I came around 7:30pm and was upset they were out of the ingredients needed to create my salad. I know it's late in the day but is it too much to ask to chop up one jalapeño for my salad? Instead I got the seasonal feature, Mexican street corn Cesar. Happy I was forced to try a new one. Watch for the level of spicy if your sensitive.
google avatar

Joanna P.

Yelp
Tried again and got another totally wrong salad from a mobile order! No time to go back before meetings. Don't bother with mobile orders at this location.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
I love this place. The food tastes amazing. Personally I build my own, with all of my faves. I also like the packaging, silly I know. Highly recommend when you're in the area. Lunchtime is crazy busy.
google avatar

Joseph P.

Yelp
The food was good the service was excellent but they don't verify contents which is why I gave them 3 out of 5. They should proof what's in the order before handing it to you especially take out orders we taken them to go back to our office and proof check there to discover missing contents.
google avatar

Shannon J.

Yelp
Great salads and bowls, interesting seasonal options. Tons of variety; ingredients always fresh. Perhaps not the most bang for your buck, (especially in terms of protein) but comparable to everything else in the area. The customer service may not be warm and chatty, but it's fast.
google avatar

Wilson B.

Yelp
My first time at a Chop't Creative Salad Company went well. I was not difficult for me to order. I ordered a Mediterranean Falafel salad bowl for myself and a Smoky Santa Cruz for my mum. We ended up switching because we liked each other's more. Staff was nice and they worked very hard. The food was good and filling. I wish the drink options were better but there's a Walgreen's on the lower level so that is that. I see myself returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrific kale salad for Amtrak train ride, carefully prepared Gluten-Free by staff who are well trained to avoid cross-contamination. All salad dressings are GF, and the menu denotes GF and Vegan options. Appreciated by anyone with Celiac.
google avatar

Hb C.

Yelp
$17 for a salad? Made the mistake of ordering a Custom Craft salad which can be very pricey. Prep cook didn't mention they charge for everything separately. Including .79 to chop each ingredient. Stick with the Favorites Menu. Cashier was kind enough to provide a military discount (4.75) to offset this pricey average at best salad.

Yelp
I come to this Chop't ALL the time because it's near my work so I suppose I SHOULD review the place, right? To start off, it's really hard to find a better place to get a salad! They have everything you could possibly want on/in your salad. I honestly can't think of any reason why anyone wouldn't like this place (unless you hate vegetables or are allergic to them but I've never heard of anyone being allergic to lettuce). For those that haven't been to a Chop't before, their creative take on the salad is that it's chopped up in front of you. They have ridiculous salad-chopping people that appear like they attended salad chopping school. They wield double-handled saber-like chopping knives while the lettuce and other ingredients fly in the air making a vegetable tornado. Once they gather together what remains of the salad, they slowly pour the desired dressing into the salad until you say "stop". Note: They have such a wide variety of dressing there to suit even the pickiest salad eaters. I don't know what it is about the chopped up salad but it makes is so much more delicious to eat. I'm serious! Salads aren't my favorite but this place makes it sooooo much easier to stick to my healthy diet. Highly recommended. Another note: Definitely try to stay away from this location from about 12:00-1:00pm; the line is HUGE. But if you do go during this hours, the line moves fairly fast and they provide menus for you to look at while you're waiting in line. And trust me... with all the different options and combinations, you'll need all that wait time to figure out your salad.

farsh s.

Yelp
Today I go there as usual for dinner. Ordered the salad. There was one person seem to be handling the orders. Once I paid I went to the area where they have the napkins, knifes and forks and it was covered with trash bags and some of the trash were sitting on the counter. Pretty disgusting. Made me wonder what they do in the back that we don't see.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
A great big bowl of good stuff for about $9. Chop't is set up to crank out salads super fast, and they will keep chopping your greens down to dust if you don't stop them LOL! Vegetarian rating: definitely 4 stars, this is a salad place haha it's easy to pick from the zillion options of greens, veg, nuts and you name it, huge diversity of ingredients here. I recommend their new Mexicali Vegan, it's a combo of tomato, beans, palm hearts etc etc that just sounded great, a dose of spicy pesto dressing on top made it complete. I'm a new fan, it doesn't hurt that I actually prefer my salads diced into tiny bits :)

Yelp
This Chopt location is located within Union Station. One of my commuter buddies on the MARC Train recommended Chopt for lunch. During lunch the lines are long, but don't be discouraged due to this. The Chopt staff are extremely fast when preparing your salad. I had the Key West Jerk Chicken Salad and it was delicious. I am looking forward to future visits at Chopt.

Yelp
I got here relatively early with a friend so the line was still under control---don't let the line fool you though--it moves quickly---they have about 6-8 chopping stations going on at the same time---so they get you your food so you can run away. If you can swing it go earlier rather than later to avoid the crowds. I love the concept---for those of us that aren't that creative (or are too lazy to put together a list) they have pre-selected combinations of salads/wraps--or you can rattle off a bunch of stuff that you specifically want. All the ingredients are definitely fresh and tasty. I had the seasonal special the saganaki chicken with the spa tzatziki dressing--spa meaning lower fat lower calorie (sounds good to me) The portions are pretty big--probably why it costs a bit more. I like the boylans soda they have (mix the cream with the black cherry and ginger ale---yum!) This place definitely made me feel better than eating the many other things I could have chosen at union station. Also if you're going to frequent them--make sure you grab a punch card--after so many punches you get one free!

Yelp
This is the best health food selection in Union Station. Better yet, add the area across the Mall into L'Enfant and South Capital Hill too. Not only do they have a great menu, served fresh and in front of you, that include wonderful selections such as Santa Fe, tomato, corn and fried onions on a bed of lettuce, or the harvest Cobb, with free-range chicken, goat cheese and nuts, but also you can make your own salad and have one of the helpful staff prepare it for you. Or you can have it on a wrap. I had them do my own salad with chipotle chicken, nuts, cranberries and goat cheese on a bed of lettuce and savored it for an hour. Amazing. For someone traveling on Amtrak, this is the best train food you can get for your trip.

Yelp
I had heard of Chop't before and needed a quick lunch in the middle of a work conference at a hotel nearby. I was craving something fresh, and this place sounded like the place to do it. Surprisingly, it was delicious! The salad and ingredients tasted extremely fresh. I had never been there before, so I wasn't really sure how the system worked. It was during lunch, so I went with the Vegan Mexican salad with the mexican dressing. It was very good and hit the spot. The reason for four instead of five stars was something that kind of rubbed me the wrong way. As I mentioned, I wasn't sure how the system worked nor did I know of my options. The guy chopping my salad asked me which dressing I wanted, and he sarcastically said that I should go with the mexican. I wasn't aware that was an option, but he also added a laugh at the end, making me a feel a bit self-conscious. Maybe I'm being a bit too sensitive, but that didn't leave a five-star experience for me. But, the food was great and a very large salad for the price!

Yelp
Great salad, but not the best location for the first time customer. Super expensive salad too! I've heard great things about Chop't, so I made sure to squeeze in a visit when I visited DC. The salad is really good, but way too expensive. Seriously, $10 for a Cobb Salad? I dropped $42 for three people for a salad lunch, but that's typical DC prices. The Chop't employees weren't much about explaining the process, so things were a bit awkward at first. Discovered later, they "chop" up the salad in front of you at your discretion, which we didn't realize, so the employees looked rather confused when we moved down the line to order drinks. Chop't is much like Subway, where you moved down the line telling them what you want as you go along, but we didn't know. Once I got a clue, I was able to better tailor our orders. I would give Chop't four stars, but the prices will keep me away.

Yelp
Always a favorite of mine. I crave salad from here. Now the negative. ..my husband pointed out. It was his 1st time and he was confused and received no direction from the staff. We went around dinner time so it seemed like the eager, energetic, and intelligent staff goes home after the lunch rush which is when I usually go. The service is definitely slower in the evening which you think at Union Station it should always be a rush..ie catching trains and buses. But I still give it a 5 rating cause I love the variety and choices of items and the chopping of my salad.

Yelp
Food was late, Preordered for pick up at 12:45 . Food wasn't ready til after 1pm. This would have been fine, except while my brother and I were waiting, the Manager assaulted another customer near us who had been waiting even longer than us, when he complained about it. Manager was taken away in handcuffs. Quite the eventful lunch break.

Yelp
This was my first time at Chopt and I enjoyed it overall! I created my own salad which had a variety of yummy options to choose from and it was fairly easy in ordering. My only complaints are that I wasn't aware of the fact that my salad would come up to $13! I wasn't aware that the chicken was $4 extra and I was a little sad that I wasn't offered bread, lol. I was in a rush and didn't bother to go back, but the team members created my salad in less than 5 minutes which was a plus. I'd definitely come back to try more on the menu.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I am not normally a salad person. Like, in fact, I detest most salads. But, this summer I interned near Union and my intern friends finally got me to try Chopt. I ordered a Chicken Tinga salad with arugula instead of kale and no cheese. This is now literally one of my favorite meals! It's so good -- mexican chicken, quinoa, black beans, avocado, shallots, and tortilla chips. Yes, it is a bit overpriced but I can always make my salads last for two meals (the portions are generous) so that helps me to justify the cost. Like everything else in Union, it's crowded during the lunch hour but the line generally moves quickly.

Yelp
OMG! yummy yummy yummy absolutely delicious salad at great prices!!! I really like Kale and discovered that I can simply order my own and not adhere to the recommended, pre-made selections on the menu! For a make your own - you can choose a greens of your choice and 4 ("general toppings" like tomatoes, peppers or beets. No meats, avocado or premium toppings) toppings free of charge for only $5.99! What a deal! Chop't changed my expectations for quick healthy salads. Definitely my go to spot for a great salad from now on! :)

Yelp
I love Chop't. They have a great selection and are always really fast. I think that they do a good job handling the lunch crowd and their ingredients are always fresh. I tried online ordering once and I felt like it took longer to get my salad than if I were to wait in line -- probably won't do that again. Great lunch stop. Don't be intimidated by how long the line is. I always need the time to figure out what I'm going to be getting anyways.

Yelp
$15 for a salad is a LOT, even in this neighborhood, but it totally worth it! I don't remember the name of the salad I had, but it had spinach, arugula, mixed greens, quinoa, black beans and avacado. I added shrimp and got the sweet and smoky chipotle dressing. That stuff had a kick, but WOW that was a good salad! Don't be intimidated by the ridiculously long line; it moves very quickly, as there is nothing short of an assembly line of people behind the counter tossing and chopping and prepping orders. Plus, there is a sort of concierge that points customers to the next person available to take their order, and points them to their next step in the custom salad process (some move on down the line, while others grab their order and head straight to checkout). I can't say that I'll be a regular here, but I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
Came for an evening visit for dinner and was hit by a strong chemical cleaner smell upon entry. Staff members looked tired and ready to go home. The refrigerated area that displays the different ingredients was messy, with a young lady picking at the bits and pieces that had fallen in the wrong spots. I watched as she grabbed tortilla chips and other bits, most making it out of the case, but some falling into the wide open containers of other condiments. This scene took my appetite down a couple notches. The team put my harvest bowl together quickly but without any passion or interest. After paying, i sat down, took the lid off my bowl, and watched in horror as a majority of topping and dressing stuck to the lid then slid onto the table before I could put the lid back over the bowl. Luckily the napkin I'd just used to clean old food off my chair was placed conveniently under my bowl, so most of my sweet potatoes and dressing were caught by it, rather than the table top. Using the famous 5 second rule, I shook the napkin, catapulting most of my food back into the bowl. Ignoring the napkin's recent history, I enjoyed a rather bland but nicely textured harvest salad. Watch out for those lids!

Yelp
This was my first visiting this restaurant I order the Mediterranean salad. I wasn't sure about the cauliflower rice because I have never tasted before, let me tell you it was delicious the salad was so good and tasty. Staff or manager was great explaining the difference in salads. I will definitely return.
