Chris' Fishing and Whale Watching

What an absolutely incredible experience!!! Our host Kevin was an absolute delight. He's friendly, super knowledgeable and he's got jokes! That sadly may have been lost on our mostly German fellow passengers, but I was in stitches. Most importantly he found us a whole bunch of whales and my god they just practically come right up to the boat. And at the end of our trip Kevin made a fantastic food recommendation 👌 10/20 best meal we had on our trip.

This was a fantastic fishing experience! From the people in the shop to the gentleman on the boat, everything was absolutely perfect! I will definitely use this service again if I’m in the area. Keith in the shop took care of his customers like they were his family it was amazing! Devun on the boat was fantastic and helpful! The captain was very experienced and helpful as well! Thank you all for such a great trip!

Skipper Roy with deckhand Chris on our boat “check mate” are fantastic. Our boat left the dock around 3:30 PM. Sea Otters, seals, birds . That’s before we got into the bay. Once in the bay, whales. I lost count on how many we saw. That was our first sighting. The skipper said he sees activity and went to another location. More whales fishing with seals. My son saw a breach. I saw so many whales. I rate this trip, once in a lifetime. Thank you. We are from Germany.

Wow what a fantastic time we had! This company was great and the captain of the Star of Monterey was awesome he got us close to all the creatures. We say many whales, one even surfaced very very close to the boat, many seals and even a few dolphins. The water was pretty rough but the boat captain manages it superbly. We all were so happy when we got back. I highly recommend this company!

We had an amazing time. Our guide was very informative on the wildlife and area. We saw over 15 humpback whales during the tour. We saw tons of sea lions, otters, and other wildlife. If you do get sea sick you might want to make sure you take Dramamine. I did just fine but my wife gets motion sickness. She took it and was fine. Others had some issues.

Great experience! We saw dozens of whales on Easter Sunday on our whales watching cruise! A few went right under our boat. I'm talking close up, no binoculars needed! The crew was nice and helpful, telling us where to look and about the whales. We stopped by earlier in the morning just so we knew where to go and was promised we would see whales. Delivered on that promise! Bucket list adventure checked off!

The deck hand / naturalist, Kevin, was helpful and knowledgeable about what sea life we could expect to see, the underwater terrain, and the habits and traits of the humpback whales we watched. The captain, Harry, did a great job getting us to the whale-watching area; the cruise to and from the watch area was smooth and enjoyable. I can happily recommend Chris's Fishing and Whale Watching for this activity, and I would definitely go again!

The captain was very informative during the trip. We got to see so many whales with an added bonus of dolphins on the way back to shore. The captain even kept us out longer than expected to ensure we got to experience the best we could!
