Christ Church is breathtaking and full of history. As a Harry Potter fan I loved the references even though the main hall scenes were filmed in the studio. Still I cannot believe they built such a detailed set without shooting at least a few moments in the real hall. The stairs alone are iconic. One suggestion would be to offer a self guided tour option as the place is so rich in details that wandering freely would be an amazing experience

Visited Christ Church mainly for the Harry Potter sights and it did not disappoint! We saw several iconic spots from the films, like the staircase from the first movie and the Great Hall that inspired Hogwarts’ dining room. It was a bit crowded and the entrance fee is on the pricier side, but it was still absolutely worth it. The guide shared some fun facts and behind-the-scenes stories that added a nice extra touch to the visit. A must-see for any Potter fan (or history buff, honestly)!

Legendary & Iconic College For Harry Potter fans this is the place. Anyone wants to have breakfast in the Great Hall ? See the turning staircases? Here you will see where JK R. got a lot of her inspiration from, it is well worth your time. Obviously there are lots of tourists & HP fans but still well worth the visit. Here you have a few options but we choose the self guided tour. It was very good as it allows you to go at your own pace and skip some less interesting parts or stay longer in others. This is a must do visit for all Harry Potter fans. Note it also has one of the nicest Cathedrals in all the Oxford colleges which by itself is worth the visit. Highly recommended from us!

This college is famous for the Harry Potter films. I felt like I was inside the movie — it was amazing. It’s also known for being where Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, once taught. Inside the dining hall, there are stained glass windows featuring characters from Alice. The buildings are stunning and full of history — it’s hard to believe this is a school! The cathedral was also absolutely magnificent. I bought an Oxford University hoodie as a souvenir. It’s definitely worth a visit!

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, this place is an absolute must. From the Great Hall that inspired the Hogwarts dining hall, to the staircase and hallways where Hagrid first brings Harry— you’ll seriously feel like you’ve stepped right into the movies. Here's another fun fact, Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice in Wonderland, was a professor here, and you’ll find little nods to Alice all around. Walking through the campus feels like strolling through a real-life fairytale.

Excellent self guided tour with audio guide included in ticket price. We were blessed with perfect weather. The great hall may be closed for event or for students during lunch or dinner (yes, this dining hall is not a museum and still being used on a daily basis). Best to get a ticket for early morning at 10:00a to avoid the crowd. Note: there is no bathroom facilities once you start the tour. Use the facilities behind the ticket counter building before you start the tour.

Christ Church is one of the biggest tourist spots in Oxford for a reason and it really lived up to the hype. I went at the perfect time since this year marks their 500th anniversary. There’s a small exhibition set up to celebrate it inside one of the buildings and I think it’ll stay open until the end of the year. The Harry Potter filming locations were fun to see but beyond that the entire place has such a special atmosphere. From the architecture to the gardens to all the little historical details it’s definitely worth the visit. Also to add a little spice to your tour when you’re there ask around about the Bullingdon Club and who its members were. It shocked me when I found out 😂

I went to Oxford for just one day, and the only visit I booked in advance and bought tickets for was Christ Church. Here you can see the Oxford Cathedral and the dining hall that inspired the Harry Potter production team to recreate it in the studios for the film saga. Everything is majestic, vast, and astonishing. There’s so much history to discover here, and luckily, the ticket includes an audio guide that allows you to learn more about each building. Definitely worth saving two hours for this tour during your visit to Oxford.- Analía Croci

Yelp
Reviewing as a tourist, not a student. The dining hall is the filming site for the Hogwarts dining hall in Harry Potter. We had friends at the college and were able to join them as guests for dinner service, which was surprisingly good and very efficiently served. The ambiance is extraordinary. There is also a tiny pub tucked away in front of the dining hall that serves a beer specifically made for Christ Church College. The Tom Quad, their central grounds, is well kept and expansive - more open and palatial than the other colleges. There is a large tower here as a landmark, Tom Tower, a Christopher Wren work (the architect of St. Paul's in London). It's worth stopping in.

Yelp
I think that just because Harry Potter was filmed here, made it worth visiting. Initially I though the great hall was filmed at the Uni of Oxford, but apparently from reading reviews, this is part of Uni of Oxford! I saw the "dining hall" it was magnificent...and the hallway where they filmed harry and ron talking to Professor M and the quidditch field or something of that sort. If you love HP, definitely visit...if you are a student, get that student discount!! Price is still high though..at 5.50 with student discount... reg is 7 pounds.. yikes... hate the price, but love that i can see where HP was filmed!

Yelp
Walking into Christ Church for the first time is an undeniably breathtaking moment. The first thing you see is a huge quad of impeccably trimmed grass surrounding a fountain, all bordered by grand buildings. Christ Church is one of the most famous Oxford colleges. Its alumni include thirteen British prime ministers and Einstein was a guest student. The impressive builings have been used in Harry Potter (the dining hall is where students eat daily), Brideshead Revisited and the Golden Compass, and it's easy to see why. It's the only college in the world which also counts as a cathedral, which is well worth visiting. Check out the quads, especially Tom Quad and Blue Boar quadrangle. It's best to visit when the hall and cathedral are open. Prices: Adults: £4.90 Family: £9.80 Concessions: £3.90 Under 5s: Free It's cheaper if the hall or cathedral are not open. Price includes illustrated information guide.

Yelp
The visitor's self walking tour inside the college is quite short for 8#s, but I'm still glad I did it. Would love to dine in that hall one day. The architecture is just amazing if you're in to that.

Yelp
If you are a tourist or even a resident of oxford then this is one place you will want to visit. It is very beautiful - especially on a sunny day, and you will enjoy it. The buildings are grand and overly beautiful - and the grounds are well tended and lovely to wonder around. I would recommend bringing a picnic and having it in the ground if the weather permits it. Try and visit when the 'Harry Potter' hall is open - the kids will love seeing it. It is very big and grand, the students have breakfast there on sunday mornings. Remember to bring your camera!

Yelp
Christ Church is an extremly popular College within Oxford University with 600 students. Christ Church Catherdral is also extremly well know as it sports world famous boy & girls choirs. The buildings as historic as they are, are a sight not to be missed. If you have a day in Oxford be sure to visit Christ Church. An small entrance fee may be charged to explore the College and its spectacular gardens. But it is worth every penny especially if you just want some chill out time or a lunch break... the scenary is beautiful.

Yelp
Our group of forty from Arizona had a private tour of Christ Church and gardens! Our guides were so very knowledgeable and entertaining! References to the Harry Potter books and movies were abundant! The dining hall was quite impressive! Must of us got a chuckle out of the marble quotes wherein misspellings were simply adjusted by adding a letter as an afterthought... rather than ruining the entire marble slab to start over! So much history! We also delighted in the "silence" signage for testing taking place! Quite an amazing tour!

Yelp
Good place to grab a tour. Find the Alice in Wonderland window in the Great Hall (go outside of dining hours). Instead of taking the tour, consider just attending the regular Cathedral service, which is as high church as you can find.

Yelp
Food at christ church is slightly below average compared to standards at other colleges. They only have good food on guest nights.

Yelp
christ church is a amazing college and also has a lovely cathedral . the college is in a prime location in oxford and a well recognised name in oxford. this location is perfect for looking at the beautiful architecture and perfect for sight seeing for tourists.

Yelp
Another architecturally incredible Oxford college - its dining hall and grand staircase were used as sets for the Harry Potter films. It's easy to see why this remains one of Oxford's top tourist attractions.

Yelp
I actually got to stay here for a week as part of a summer school program for adults called the Oxford Experience. For about 1200 pounds, you get room, full board and tuition in a course of your choosing (you couldn't stay in Oxford for a week with all meals alone for that...). Courses range from King Arthur and Jane Austen to the Beatles and murder mysteries; you are sure to find something fascinating. But the real star is Christ Church (you don't say College, just Christ Church, and its nickname is "the House"). Buildings that date from many centuries back, that you actually live in for a week, and you take three meals a day in the dining hall up the staircase they used in the Harry Potter movies. Awesome. I was so disappointed that Dumbledore wasn't there presiding over the high table. But it was terrific. Such history. And the best part was being there after the college gates were shut and locked and you were on the inside. The place was yours to wander around...fantastic. But if you can't do the program for a week, at least visit for the day.
