Chrysalis Modern Italian

Fun family friendly restaurant. My wife, father-in-law, and me arrived one evening with no reservations. The place was packed but the host was super friendly, kind, and found us a table only after a short wait. The food and drinks were very very good. We all had some version of the homemade spaghetti. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo. My father-in-law ordered the lemon salmon. My wife ordered the vodka shrimp diavlo. My wife found the diavlo to be a little too spicy so we switched plates. It was delicious and perfect for me. I ordered the bread pudding for dessert and my father-in-law shared a tiramisu with my wife. My bread pudding was phenomenal. A couple got engaged while we attended which made it an extra cheerful experience.

Today, Wifey and I ditched the tedium of our afternoon schedules and cruised down to Franklin from Bowling Green Kentucky. We've always had top notch experiences here. Arriving at 3p, and once again we are greeted and treated by fantastic table service. Our server this time was Felicia. She was light, fun and informative. The cadence of our drinks and entrées gave us time to enjoy this beautiful space. We celebrated my 60th birthday here by executing a sabrage. That birthday meal was wonderful. The lunch menu here today was also one for the books. Check out the pics. This place would be high on the list to bring clients and business partners. For special occasions I extend a full statement of assurance that the atmosphere here sets up for warmth and connection. The menu presents options that will satiate every palate. The service will bring you back.

Menu: slightly different from what you see on their website, so we were taken aback at first, but a lot of overlaps Food: delicious! Forgot to take pictures of half of the things we ordered, but the table favorites were Burrata, Pesto, Focaccia. Everything we ordered tasted great. Staff: Was friendly, but one of our guests ordered a fish entree and while they were bringing out everyone’s plates, our server told him to choose something else as they were out of that fish. I think they could have reached out to us earlier. However, they were extremely accommodating to our ever changing guest list and kept adding more tables to accommodate everyone. Service: they don’t let you split the check more than 6 ways, so if you’re going there in large parties, be ready to Venmo each other. Parking: plenty of parking spots right outside the establishment. Vibe: other patrons were pretty quiet and nice. Overall, ambiance was great. Loved the chic decor of the place. The bar area is rather large but no noisy patrons there either. Overall, very pleased with my experience Would go again!

We had a group of 16 meet for lunch on a Saturday at noon. We did make reservations since our group was so large. They had a nice big table for us in the middle of the restaurant. Our waitress was very attentive and always made sure we had full glasses and bellies! The food was so flavorful and filling! Price ranged from$13 to $20 on the lunch menu. There are more items and chef specials on the dinner menu if you come during that time. There was nothing left on anyone's plates! We also tried 3 of their top desserts; tiramisu, lemonchello, and bread pudding. Most of us paired them and americano or cappuccino, which were also amazing! I highly recommend Chrysalis Modern Italian! Oh, there is also plenty of free parking and clean restrooms :)

Best Italian we have ever eaten and the location is perfect! Highly personal and professional servers and the manager came and chatted to us about sourcing of ingredients. We will be back! Thank you

Thoughtful food with great, balanced flavors and amazing, engaged servers and staff. We enjoyed the scampi bruschetta, polpetta, stuffed portabella, and panna cotta.

The homemade pasta was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. It was absolutely delectable. The limoncello was superb. I'm a snob about Italian food because I'm an Italian-American from New York and we take our food seriously :). The fresh ingredients and flavors were spot on. There was a new bartender in training so our drinks were late but they were delicious. The appetizer was burned so we decided to skip it. There were snags like this but every restaurant has nights like that. Despite these issues our server was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. I gave this place 5 stars because I don't want anyone to miss out on the great food served at Chrysalis.

Such a great little place to enjoy small plates or a full meal. It was a beautiful experience from start to finish. We did not have a reservation but our party of 2 was able to be seated by the kind hostess. Our server Brenner gave us an explanation of the menu and always had a helpful attitude when ordering. We really appreciated how quickly the food was served and the excellent portions for sharing. The food was cooked to perfection. The build your own charcuterie was a nice treat before the main entree was served.

Very good food! Makes me feel like I'm in Europe, and the servants are very knowledgeable and helpful.

We had a fantastic experience at Chrysalis! The food was incredible, flavorful. The portion sizes were a bit small for the price, but still worth it to do every once in a while. Our waitress was so kind and welcoming! She frequented the table and kept our water filled and always asked if we needed anything else. She gave great suggestions from the menu as well. Both the peach and the mango spritzers were delicious, and the Pig and Fig flatbread was phenomenal. The ONLY knock I had on this place was the music. It was so dang loud that sitting a booth, it felt like you were yelling to talk to the other side of the table. It was also quite warm inside, we all felt extremely warm and slightly sweaty. Overall, it's a nice quaint date night spot!

Chrysalis has been one of our favorite Franklin restaurants since we moved to the area a few years ago. It's still a pleasant welcoming space with friendly helpful staff. But it suffers more these days from a case of overachieving chef syndrome. We tried several of the chef's features on the new winter menu, the osso bucco and the trout. The osso bucco was nicely cooked, tender fall off the bone chunks from two small bones. But the pleasant roast was overwhelmed with a complex plate of cheesy polenta, stewed kale and tomato gravy. A table mate had the same issue with the trout. A nice piece of fish that was overwhelmed by the complexity of the dish. The only diner at our table that enjoyed their dinner ordered a house salad and a simple flatbread. We'll still be regulars at Chrysalis, though we'll hope on return visits that they return to a focus on their fresh quality ingredients being more simply prepared. For now, advising that to enjoy your experience at Chrysalis these days, you are best off finding the simplest preparation on the menu that appeals.

Went in for an early dinner because we had plans later that night. Lucy was our server and she was fabulous. We ordered 3 small plates and shared. All were cooked to perfection and tasted great. Had one of their craft cocktails which I highly recommend. The staff at the bar combined many ingredients to make this drink delicious and easy to drink down. The dessert was a salted caramel gelato with hot espresso poured over er r the top.

Good Italian pod and small plates. The plates with homemade spaghetti are al dente. The chicken in Chicken Alfredo was also overcooked. The Bolognese was very good. There is a children's menu with simple pasta. There is a full bar, and a short but diverse wine list. The interior is bright, clean and simple. Service at the bar was a little slow.

Very good Italian food. Everything was made fresh. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. The service was great as well. We told them we were headed to the Opry so they made sure we were gone in time to get there but we still didn't feel rushed. Will definitely go back.

Incredible scratch Italian cuisine. Fabulous service. We were greeted by the husband of the owner. He was so welcoming and friendly! We waited a few minutes for our table and ordered drinks at the bar. Really cool vibe! White string lights and music. Dimmed lighting made our evening warm and relaxing. Ed ordered the meatballs for a starter. They were some of the best we have had! The tomato sauce is incredible. My husband ordered the lamb Osso Bucco and it was out of this world! The pasta with shrimp scampi was incredible. Fresh made pasta cooked perfectly al dente. Cannot say enough about Chrysalis. Make a resy! Not a huge place so a resy is smart.

Exceptional Dining Experience Every Time! We absolutely love this place! As regulars, we make it a point to explore new dishes each visit, and so far everything has been consistently fantastic. We usually opt for seating at the bar, where the friendly and knowledgeable staff offer great drink and food recommendations. While we enjoy discovering new favorites, the whipped goat cheese salad remains our go-to appetizer. If you're a fan of goat cheese, don't miss out on this delightful dish! The main dining area is perfect for date nights, as well as small to medium-sized groups. If you haven't had the pleasure of dining here yet, I highly recommend making it your next dinner destination!

Excellent food, good service and convenient location in Cool Springs area. We enjoyed Cesar salad, margarita flat bread pizza and Tiramisu that we split between us. Celebrated my birthday there and they they were so gracious. Plan to visit again soon.

This place is amazing! The drinks, apps and entrees are top notch. Been there about 5 times and impressed every time. Notables are the cioppino, homemade pastas, the charcuterie, bolognese, crab stuffed mushrooms, the cocktails!! You really can't go wrong.

We had such a great time here on a double date with some friends! I found their take on Italian cuisine to be fresh and vibrant. The service was great. Our waitress was always ready with refills and was so nice. We got the shareable bread and it was such a nice little app to get things started. Their wine list is pretty great with lots of options from different terroir. I ordered the salmon and it was fantastic! The homemade pasta that it came was delicious and filling. The lemon sauce that was on the pasta was the perfect pairing with the salmon. Definitely a great place to come with friends.

Came back recently for some fettuccine bolognese and it was absolutely fantastic! The house made noodles were a delight. Excellent service as well. What a gem!

Great food and service! This is easily one of my favorite Italian spots in the Nashville area. The fettuccine Alfredo is so delicious!

I've been here a few times and continuously good food, service and ambiance! The staff is really great - from being greeted when you walk in, the bar area, service...all of it is outstanding! The piatto plate (building your own charcuterie plate) has some great options. All the cheeses, meats, olives and apricot jam were delicious. We had the house salad to share and it was great. Recommend ordering their bread, it's worth it for the table. The Vodka Diavolo Pasta was spicy but good! We didn't have room for dessert but usually good here! Also cocktails here are outstanding. They have an amazing Espresso martini!

We generally enjoyed dinner, but there were some issues. Service was rushed with courses coming way too fast and before we had finished others. Pasta was terrific, tuna carpaccio was just ok. Wine list not great. For a neighborhood restaurant, it's very nice. We'll return but sure wish they would slow down the service!

We came here after reading recommendations for an Italian restaurant in Franklin. We made a reservation and went for dinner. The vibe is cool! It feels modern but casual and comfortable. We ordered cocktails and they came quickly and were perfectly mixed and balanced and served over a large ice cube. We started with half sod the kale salad! Perfectly portioned and so good! We each ordered pasta entrees and they were delicious! Our only complaint would be the wait to get our entree but it was so good we knew it had been made to order so the wait is worth it. We highly recommend this restaurant and we definitely will return.

I have been coming to Chrysalis since they opened. I've enjoyed numerous dishes they've had on their ever changing menu. I love that they change the menu so often it keeps things fresh and a surprise. Over all the place is a vibe but it would be kind of nice if they had a couch sitting area to have just drinks and apps not a whole meal, and at night mood lighting would be cool. With a wonderful authentic food they have it would be nice to be transported to Italy through The Resturant.

Early to my dinner reservation but seating was not an issue. Prompt service with menu knowledge who explained a few preferences/homemade specialties for me. Bartender nailed the gin cocktail... so good! Ordered a watermelon appetizer that looks so Summer fresh and tasted of the garden (panzanella, goat cheese, arugula topped with fresh watermelon). Main entree will be the salmon al limone over fresh fettuccini noodle...I could hardly wait for that first bite which was delicious, lemony and well seasoned. Might want to save a little space for an after dinner limoncello or expresso martini...maybe? Well, I splurged on dessert instead, limoncello tiramisu which is good but could use an extra kick of lemon, in my opinion. Do book your reservation and enjoy!

We always enjoy Chrysalis. The al la carte charcuterie board is exceptional and all of the dishes that we've tried have been very enjoyable. Service is impeccable.

They take reservations, and we showed up 10 minutes but were quickly seated. Not a big menu but portions good size, served hot and delicious. I had the saltimbocca and totally cleaned the place. Sauce was awesome. Lebo took great care of us

You won't find the word "Nonna" here- not sure if I even found the use of traditional. They set their self apart by not trying to compare themselves to traditional Italian restaurants- and they do it well, from the decor, to menus. Food - the server said they offered one homemade pasta per day- it was delicious. The Panzanella presentation was beautiful- though I had to remind myself not to compare it to other Italian restaurants. (For me, one of the best things in a tasty panzanella is how the bread absorbs the olive oil and balsamic vinegar.) However, this was a stellar summer watermelon panzanella, where all the flavors blended perfectly! Kudos! Service - not up to par with the quality of the food, everything went well until that last quarter of the service. Ambiance - open concept dining with a fresh feel. We will return.

We went here last year for Valentine's Day and the food was amazing my husband loved his dish and the bread was homemade and delicious we order drinks and desert everything was perfect going back again this year

What a fabulous little spot this is!! I was recently traveling through Nashville and Yelped up this gem for a spot to try some local fresh healthy food for lunch. A wonderful modern Italian experience where they serve house made pasta dishes, small plates with really nice craft cocktails and a fab wine list. The interior is well appointed and nicely decorated. The service is extremely friendly, efficient and speedy. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for freshly prepared locally sourced and delightfully prepared dishes.

Back again for lunch. This place consistently has great food and service. The dining area is clean and inviting. Handmade pasta and fresh ingredients will keep you coming back. They do have a full bar.

My hubby and I stopped in randomly and boy what a gem we found. All the food and drinks we tasted was an experience for the tastebuds. Our waiter was wonderful and the bartender made our drink amazing! They have a large GIN selection so that was a plus!

Really amazing food and great wine selection. The burrata wiith the reduced basalmic is delicious. How much is homemade pasta is also incredibly delicious. Just don't get those.I've been there twice where they run out of the fresh pasta. The service can be suspect.

This is the best Italian food in America. There, I said it. I just had house-made smoked paprika spaghetti, with a creamy meaty bolognese (with homemade Italian sausage that.... Omg. The sauce is so rich. Here's my hints: A totally unique and savory seafood soup is incredible. The Caesar salad. The osso busso. The tiramisu. Bread for 2. Homemade pasta with anything. Enjoy

Been going to Chrysalis for a while. Great service, excellent food and drink selections. Some great drink options and the wine list is very good. We usually build our chartruterie but the entree selections with home made pasta are fantastic as well. Must try full service restaurant in Franklin

Chrysalis is located in a small strip mall with easy parking. We were there on a Friday evening at 5pm without a reservation. It wasn't long before the tables were pretty filled. The decor is very open with a full wall of many colorful butterflies...thus the name. The bar area is small and could be used if the tables are full. Especially on a Friday evening or weekend a reservation could be necessary. There are booths and tables spaced out nicely. Our server was Lebo who has been there a while. Lebo is very familiar with the menu and offered suggestions as well as how foods were prepared. I enjoyed their Aperol Spritz that had a dash of orange bitters and lemon added to the usual spritz formula. If possible it made the Aperol Spritz even better than the usual. Our table had the mussels, Chicken Saltimbocca, and pan seared trout. The portion sizes are just right. Not just right is the bread, it is dry and tasteless. There are about five offerings for dessert but we were all topped off from our delicious meal.

Don't wait on coming to this restaurant! We had one of the best Italian meals ever here. There is a reason why this place was voted the best Italian restaurant in Franklin in 2023. Everything was fabulous from the appetizers to the mains to the dessert. Very accommodating to my husband who is vegetarian. He had the most amazing vodka spaghetti with veggies....it was so good. I stole some from him. And that tiramisu is heavenly, so creamy! Our server was attentive and made my birthday dinner super special!

Chrysalis is, hands down, my favorite restaurant in Franklin (and possibly all of Nashville if I'm being honest). The food is just delicious - we have never experienced a misstep - but it's about more than that. From the minute we walk through the door, we are always treated like friends. The low staff turnover in the time we've been visiting is a real testament to the work environment Andy has created here too. They are kind and unfailingly patient with guests of all sorts. It's hard to choose favorites from the menu but we especially like the So Too the Sage cocktail, the melanzana, the pan-seared rainbow trout, and Hayley's panna cottas. This is where we want to be when we're celebrating (even something as mundane as making it to the weekend), and it's where we want to be when we need to feel cheered up. It is my happy place each and every time. In a town full of great places to eat, Chrysalis really stands out from the crowd.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. This was my first visit in and wow! Our Server, Hannah was so attentive, knowledgeable and kind. The watermelon salad was one of the best I've ever had. The place is quaint and my husband and I could have great conversation without it feeling too loud. We will definitely be back.

Coming from NJ/NY and moving to TN has been a struggle when it comes to finding good Italian cuisine... But guess what we found it along with the hospitality!!! From walking in and meeting Amanda at the front door, to being hosted by our Bartender, to being served by our waiter Brenner, to Andrew providing some incredible deserts this night out with my loved ones was second to none. Every dish was just outstanding and the service impeccable. If you have not been... I highly recommend you visit because everything is fresh and cooked on the spot daily, but the service is from the heart and it is shows. One of the best if not best meals my family and I have had since we've moved to Nashville!

One of my favorite local restaurants to date. The staff are incredible, the food is SO tasty, and the experience is 10/10. I highly recommend.

This is the 2nd time we've been here and each time was enjoyable. Would definitely recommend! Food: Food has really great flavor and the portion size isn't overwhelming but leaves you satisfied. Menu has nice array of choices Atmosphere: The overall atmosphere is casual. Service: We had a nice waitress who was helpful. The one thing I will mention is that both times I've been here I've noticed the servers seem stretched too thin with too many tables. They look rushed and it appears difficult for them to keep up. This would be the only reason keeping it from a 5 star.

Nice little Italian restaurant with plenty of gluten free options! I had the chicken pesto sandwich for lunch and my husband had gluten free chicken pesto pasta. Both of our entrees were good and had nice presentation too. They had some other cool options such as a build your own charcuterie board.

Great food and great atmosphere! I don't drink but others in my party enjoyed their cocktails. I got a mocktail (bartenders choice) and it was amazing! I've been there twice and I'd definitely go back.

Wonderful ambience, perfect for a business dinner or a date night. The charcuterie board has a great selection and it comes out in abundance as well. When we dined the short rib was out so I ordered the osso bucco and it was phenomenal. It was served with polenta and was one of the best meals I've ever had. Wine selection was delicious and the entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable in their food & wine menu. If I could give more stars I would!

Delicious! My wife and I visited this restaurant and loved the ambiance, the location and the wait staff was on the ball! Really enjoyed everything about our visit and we'll definitely be back!

You need "help" in so many more ways than one. I'll just leave that there and will follow up with the health department on whether or not salads should be sitting on a counter for 45 minutes. Oh and please do locate that videotape you pretend to have so we can review it with the health department together. RESPONSE; Again, Andy can't resist name calling. Health Department reports are available online for anyone to review. You did not ace every report. In FACT, you had three follow up inspections which indicates violations, then a score of 91 in 8/22 and 93 in 8/23 but hey, we are still dealing with Andy's "alternative facts".

I was in town for work and looking for a nice night out. The team at Chrysalis was welcoming and attentive. The drinks were original and delicious. The food was comforting and tasty. Thank you for taking care of me!

Really fantastic place! Probably the only restaurant I've been to that has "small plates" with portions large enough to share. The wife and I had four and walked out stuffed. The wine and alcohol selection looked substantial and the tiramisu would've been discussed here if I weren't too full! Definitely recommend getting reservations.

This restaurant is newer and has a cool atmosphere. It is very noisy. They have some really delicious cocktails. The service is very good. Some of the dishes are great, some are average.

I went here with a friend for my birthday and was blown away by the service, food, and cocktails. The amazing (get ready to hear that word a lot) service started at the door with the gentleman at check in. He was fast, efficient, and friendly despite it being a very busy (and booked) Friday night. Having arrived early for our reservation, we sat at the bar and had a cocktail while we waited. The bar service and cocktails were exemplary. I didn't catch our bartenders name, (she was a very sweet brunette with an undercut) but she was fantastic, on top of her section of the bar, great attitude, great service, and everything about the cocktails was excellent. The same seating host came and got us at the bar and seated us in a booth with Brenner as our waiter where the exemplary service continued. By this time we had a had a few cocktails (we were celebrating my birthday, don't judge! ) and were being less than diligent with placing our order. Brenner was attentive without smothering us and managed to make sure we never felt forgotten or rushed. When we did manage to order, the food came out fast and was both delicious and visually appealing. My friend and I were able to enjoy our night out and catch up in the amazing environment created by the equally amazing staff. In a time when quality customer service seems to be on the decline, Chrysalis absolutely raised the bar on service to a whole new standard. Well done, Chrysalis, you've gained a loyal customer!

We went for my son's 17th birthday and it took so long for drinks to come out (15-20mins), then a long time for food to come out, we kept having to flag our server down for anything as she clearly tried to avoid our eye contact. At the end, she tried to smooth everything over by bringing my son a free dessert for his birthday. We were there for at least 2 hours. This is the second time we've had a bad experience with this server. (Female w/large glasses). Our food was good, just very disappointed in the service being it was my son's bday and on a Thursday night (12/19/24). If we come back we will be sure not to be seated in her section. We've had much better experiences with other servers there.

One of the few places in the greater Nashville area that always exceeds our expectations. Amazing food and drinks. It's a wonderful place for a celebration.

To say that we won't come back it's an understatement. Do not recommend this place at all! After many months without a date-night due to a new baby arrival, we were excited to try this place. Ambience was welcoming and the decor was nice. After looking through the menu for the hundred time before doing the awkward look-around if anyone will take the order. The server finally came over and politely apologized. The hostess never told her that we had been seated. We ordered the Burrata to start and the Braised Beef Short Ribs and Pesto pasta with Chicken. Burrata came out. Delicious. It all went downhill when the entrees came out. The Braised Beef was overflowing with olive oil and it was extremely bitter. It was inedible to be honest. The chicken in the Pesto pasta was beyond chewy and undercooked. According to the server, after she brought the plates back to the kitchen, the chef agreed that the plate was extremely bitter. By this point we lost our appetite and did not want to eat anymore. They took the noxious dishes off the bill and we paid for what we had eaten. The hostess dismissively dropped the check on the table and gossiped about us with the bartender. The waitress felt bad about all of this but there was nothing that she could have done to fix it by that point. Go somewhere else, the food is not worth your money!

I stopped in early and had a cocktail and some snacks. I loved the look of the place and the staff was very friendly. I look forward to going back for a meal.

Staff is very friendly! Food was delicious- husband said his Caesar salad was the best he's ever had and I loved the bolognese and bread for two! Such a great restaurant- we're just sorry we don't live close enough to go more often! It's definitely a visit every time we are in Nashville, though!!
