Watch live glassblowing at noon or book a hands-on class in the newly expanded studio. The 2025 grand reopening drew regional press and affirmed Norfolk’s reputation as a glass town with public demos and artist residencies.

Wonderful friendly staff and amazing facility! We were on Virginia Beach for vacation and wanted to do something different. So happy we stumbled upon this glass studio and decided to end our vacation by taking a class to make a jelly fish paper weight. Karl, the instructor, and Alex, the teaching assistant, made this a wonderful experience for my boys. We had a great time and created beautiful pieces. I wish we came earlier in the week so we could bring the pieces home with us but they will be shipped. Highly recommend!

YOU MUST VISIT THE GLASS STUDIO! The demo's are at noontime. Sign up in advance for one of their classes. We really like that in less than an hour we both made a drinking glass out of glass. The staff is wonderful. The experience amazing and we will never forget our visit here.

I took a cold cut glass class and made coasters. The teacher was very informative, friendly, and encouraging. Class was offered from 1:30 to 4:30. I took the entire time to create four coasters. Only $10 shipping fee. Highly recommend!

Edit: we picked up our flowers, so I added photos! 😊 My partner signed us up for the Colorful Botanicals class where you get to make flowers. It was a challenging but really cool class. We learned a lot about how you work with glass and all of the really cool things you can do with it. Kole was our instructor and they were super sweet and patient, and you could tell that they really love glasswork and they want you to enjoy it too. My partner and I each made a clear and a colorful flower. We haven't picked the finished flowers up yet, and the class really requires both hands and your brain to be involved in what you're doing 😆, but I managed to take some photos of the petals we were making while in class and record a few seconds of using the torch to melt the glass down. Everyone we encountered at the glass studio was really kind and grounded. They are encouraging and supportive of anyone wanting to learn glasswork at any age. You can tell that they want to share what they love with you and they want you to have a good time. If glasswork is something you're interested in and you've been wondering or nervous about how to get started, I highly recommend taking a class here. They also have free demonstrations on certain days/times, which are super cool to watch. Altogether, it's a great place to hang out and one of Norfolk's treasures.

This incredible resource in the tidewater area drips beauty and history. It has a wonder collection with much to see for any art lover. Across the street is the glass studio where demos can be seen and even take classes on how to blow glass. And best of all this museum is free!! Keep an eye out on the different events this place holds as well. Free parking on site as well.

I would highly recommend getting the schedule and being certain to attend the demonstration or taking a class!!! We just happened to walk in because we thought it might be ‘interesting’. Well they made quite an impression! We were sorry we couldn’t get into class, but we caught the full demo. We have a new appreciation for glass art! It’s an all new studio and space. The Chrysler Museum next door allowed us to see a huge collection of glass art as we learned more about this fascinating medium.

I highly recommend the noon glassblowing demonstration, Karl and Phoenix put on an excellent glassblowing show for my family and a few others! Karl is an exceptional and informative teacher with a great enthusiasm for the art. We all left with a new appreciation for glass art and hope to return! The show was free, as is admission! They had a microphone and live video on a tv showing an up close view of the demonstration, so anywhere you sit you will have an amazing experience!

Demonstrations were going on. Enjoy watching the process & the final project. It isn't finished until it cools down in a kiln, which can take days or months, depending on piece. Very informative. Just wish we had been in a week we could have participated in making something. Sign up in advance of visit.
