"If you fancy a slap-up meal in southwest Brussels, make a beeline for this fancy brasserie adorned with modern art and boasting a lovely alfresco space at the rear. Brugmann offers an extensive choice of pedigree Gallic dishes at lunchtime and in the evening. Traditional recipes are treated to modern, particularly Asian, interpretations, such as langoustine in a tempura of crunchy walnuts with a sweet and sour bisque sauce." - Michelin Inspector

The staff are mostly highly skilled and friendly, there will be the odd unhelpful person as is only human. The level of care is excellent. I underwent major surgery and was treated with dedicated care and respect by true professionals. The admin aspect is less convincing probably due to understaffing. But the catering is extremely poor, inefficient and incapable of delivering even what it says on their own menus. Plus a lot of the food is industrial and in no way can it be qualified as healthy. Yes, you will get fresh veggies. But the (plastic-wrapped) sauce will contain additives. And don't even think of having dietary requirements! So bring your own food if you have to stay over...

I went therefor a consultation 10 days after serious leg surgery on April 13th. Arrived alone in an ambulance (single expat mom in Brussels, immobilised in bed after accident). The consutlations secretariat informed the ambulance staff I should be take to x-rays first. After the ambulance staff left and x-rays were taken, I asked the x-ray technician for help to get to the consultations building. She refused to help me saying I should walk to the reception. Refused even after I told her I do not feel safe to walk. Obviously, I fell in the corridor. Was put in a wheelchair and pushed in a waiting room where I was left unattended. I heard the lab technician who had refused to help me say she had told me to wait for someone and I left on my own. I said it was not true. After I was again left alone for a while and called desperately the consultations sercice, the same female lab technician came back and whispered into my ear that I do not only have a leg issue, I also have a problem with my head. She refused repeatedly to give me her name (no name tags on staff). Called the hospital mediator today and he said I should not have gone alone for a checkup and should have brought my own wheelchair if I cannot walk. I said it is the first time I am in such a mobility impared situation and did not know. That perhaps they should have warned me I need my own means of mobility in the hospital. He said supermarkets don't warn customers either that they do not provide wheelchairs. I hang up and here I am, writing this review. I shall try to write a formal letter of complaint to the hospital. Would just like an assurance that they review this incident and take measures so that this never happens to anyone else. And an apology perhaps.

The MRI machine looks extremely dated. Very narrow and completely closed on one side. I do not recommend MRI at this hospital.

Terrible experience. I would not recommend to anyone. Results not provided within expected timeframe. No follow-up from the personnel, had to raise it to management and weeks later I was finally was told that they got lost/damaged. Had to do the exam another time and ... again no results for many weeks. Called multiple times and no one seems to be able to provide any useful information. Raised it again but no one seemed to care or be interested by the urgency connected to these tests. I went to another hospital and received the results the day after the exam.

Service at the stomatology stays low. Why? 1. you need to forseen 30min before appointment before you can check in. And when asking when the doctor is 30 later than appointment, the front desk cannot help to tell any useful information. "he will call your name right now." but nobody is calling my name... 🙄 2. Once another 10 min passed the doctor called my name. I asked his professional advice on what needs to be done and about how long could it take. (i need to inform my work when I would be back. Basic politeness. ) He said it depends on what you want to have it done. ***A long talk from him where I cannot get an answer from him on my questions.*** I asked my question again. What do you suggest, what are the prio to be done here ? He said: "you can do x, y or z, I don't care. His last sentence really got me irritated. After some discussions. I left the room. As a dentist HE is the Profesional person in the room. He has to advice the prio, don't use sentences as I don't care and especially listening to the patient question. 3. Last time an old lady wanted to pay her consultation of 5 euro with cash and make a follow up appointment. The lady at the front desk refused indifferently the cash (because it's cashless there) and refused making an follow-up meeting because she did not pay today's appointment. Luckily another patient saw this. Paid with his bankcard and received the cash from the old lady. So that old lady can have her follow-up appointment. Once it was me to pay my appointment at the same front desk. I asked her if she knew that legally you cannot refuse cash. If a customer only has cash on him, he has to be able to pay. The lady at the frondesk indifferently said: "That's the policy. If you are not happy you don't have to come or you can complain to our hospital." 🙄 4. Orthodontist. I went there as a kid. Lastly I had an issue. Came to the lady where I used to go. She had some delay. She looked 2 sec in my mouth, concluded she cannot fix my cord for my teeth on this appointment. You need to come back. Wrote on the paper consultation 50 euro. I asked her. But we did nothing here. You just said we cannot do anything during this appointment. She said: "I analysed your mouth." It was an easy earned 50 euro........ 🙄 I came here since I was young young out of habit. But really... It stops here.

That one start I will give to the receptionist if there is zero star I would give that also how can a hospital hire someone to receive calls and speak only one language and does not speak Dutch or English? Plus she was rude kept speaking french in angry voice I had to hang up.

As a foreigner, I had quite a good experience here. Unfortunately, i had to visit many of their sections, neurology, urology, sleep disorder, physiotherapy, and blood analysis, and I encountered highly skilled personnel and, most importantly, gentil and friendly. To get the most of it, you should use their informatics tools.
