Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings

"The folks behind Chu Minh in the International District opened a second location of their vegan deli in Columbia City. The new walkup window has a smaller menu focusing more on Vietnamese iced coffee and bánh mì, but you can still expect to see the restaurant's signature spicy tofu and plant-based meat imitations. " - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

Super friendly little store with an excellent selection of food. While we waited, they offered us samples—and they were unbelievably delicious. They even make their own tofu, and my son (who never likes tofu!) actually loved it. It’s a tiny spot with a huge personality and truly great food. And something I really admire: for the entire month of December, they’re donating 10% of their revenue to support people in need in Vietnam, specifically flood victims. A small business with a big heart.

This place was delicious! Best Banh Mi that I’ve ever had. My girl got the spicy tofu banh mi and I got half with the lemon grass chicken and other half with bbq pork, owner was cool and asked if I wanted half on each side when asking him which he liked better. Next time I’m in Seattle, I’ll be back. Outdoor seating.

I really enjoyed this spot! Spicy tofu ban mi was the best so far, looking forward to returning and trying them all. A free little egg roll while you wait for your order is very nice too 😌 Fried tofu to go was good, nice to take that home and make a few meals.

1st time visiting Seattle from Cali & found this great spot by chance! I got the tofu bánh mì and fruit tea — both were delicious. The guy serving there super friendly and even gave me a free egg roll while I waited. Menu has lots of tasty options like pho or spicy noodles (can’t remember exactly). Wish more time to try. Will definitely come back next time!

So many sandwiches and coffee places nearby I was excited to try a new shop. I was a bit disappointed with the sandwich and coffee I ordered. Something about it was off. Very nice service though. Parking in front is a pain to get in/out of.

Always love the service here when I get the banh mis. I always get pork skin and spicy lemongrass chicken. The banh mis are always packed!! We are always so full. The best part is the free egg roll that they give you. It’s such a nice little treat while you wait! One of the best egg rolls I had, so crispy and flavorful! I got an order to go :D

Go here! Outstanding food - I haven’t ordered one sandwich I wouldn’t order again but spicy tofu is my favorite. Friendly people, quick service and a small covered patio to eat in year round make this one of my go-to spots.

Love this place! I came here first for the grand opening, and it is my family’s go-to spot for banh mi (also the only place I actually will want a banh mi from). The bread has a delightfully crisp and airy texture, there is a wonderful variety of flavor in the protein options, and the sandwiches are very filling. We have only had the banh mis here but I would love to try other options on the menu! The cherry on top is the quick, friendly, and attentive service. Love !!

Yelp
Great vegan Thai food. Offshoot of the original shop on Jackson. Family run. Omnivores love their food too

Yelp
This is a go to lunch spot for me. I enjoy everything but my favorites are the lemongrass chicken banh mi and the tofu banh mi. Also check out their egg rolls, delicious. Plus everyone who works here is super nice! Parking can be a little tricky.

Yelp
My two friends and I had the best service I have ever received while here on Friday! One of my friends is vegan and I had heard about this place online so when she offered to come visit us in Seattle, I suggested we go here. We came in about an hour before close and hadn't looked at menu prior. We struggled with what to get because everything looked delicious. One of the employees recognized this struggle and grabbed who I presumed to be the owner to assist. She and the two employees gave us all a taste of nearly everything on the menu and even sweetly demanded we try a full egg roll as well. Everything we tried (nearly the whole menu) was delicious! I got the fried rice and some egg rolls while my friends got banh mis. We all appreciated the hospitality immensely and have since told multiple people how they must try this place because not only is the food delicious but the people who are behind it are incredibly friendly and helpful. One thing I will note is that this place is more of a takeout place. We ordered on a tablet (assisted by the employees) and took the food to go. So just be prepared to take it home or have a bar lined up to bring it to! I'll definitely be bringing more friends here in the future. Thank you again for being so welcoming! :)
