What an experience! Excellent service and the food was great. We got the Gold choice, lots of steak, sushi, vegetables and shrimp and it was fun cooking it ourselves. The tum yum soup was good. The service “ Niko” was super nice and explained the whole experience very good at beginning and educating us on the Chubby Group experience. This was fantastic and would definitely come back again.

First time at Chubby Cattle, and it did not disappoint! Our server, Josh, was absolutely amazing—super attentive, friendly, and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. He gave great recommendations (the A5 Wagyu short rib was incredible!) and even helped us cook the meat perfectly. As first-timers, we were blown away by both the quality of the food and the outstanding service. If you visit, definitely ask for Josh—you’ll be in great hands!

One word to summarize: Disappointment. Had high expectations for this place before I went. I liked the Mikiya brand both in LA and Bay Area. But this place was a huge let down from my experience. I would rather stick with Mikiya for A5 wagyu experience. I went by myself and select the diamond tier. 1. The good A5 meat was just a few pieces. Probably 2oz for each selection. I asked the server to help me grill these because it’s the best meat and the picture 2&3 were what happened. Totally burnt. I was being too nice so I ate the first kind of meat but it was impossible to eat the second. So I asked them to place another order and grilled myself. 2. The food delivery speed was subpar, I have constantly waited more than 10mins for my order at first. This is at 2-3pm so it’s definitely not peak time. 3. The unlimited “A5” was definitely a big step down. Sometimes it doesn’t look like A5 marble at all. In contrast, Mikiya A5 ribeye unlimited looked wayyyy better in quality 4. The unlimited A5 brisket can be so hard to grill because they were so thin. They can easily stick to the grill. In Mikiya, you can just put it in the pot and take it out easily. 5. Minor issue, their sauces or spices were all sweet. Even the salt had sugar in it. This would make your appetite go away pretty fast.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience at Chubby Cattle! From the moment we walked in, the service was attentive and welcoming. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional — everything tasted incredibly fresh and premium. The meat selection was beautifully presented, richly marbled, and melted in the mouth. The broths were flavorful and well-balanced, enhancing every bite without overpowering the natural taste of the ingredients. We especially loved how clean and comforting everything felt, even after a full meal. The atmosphere was modern yet cozy, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Overall, an outstanding experience — we will definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend.

The food is top tier. The service is quick and our server Viet is extremely helpful! He accommodated all our desired requests. The vibe of the whole restaurant seems as if you're in Japan! Everything was excellent and the selected meats were exquisite! All the A5 Wagyu selections were so fresh. We are very satisfied and Viet also convinced us to get a membership! We will be returning diners.

We came in town to visit our family. We wanted to try something different from our hometown (MN). We came across Chubby Cattle through social media video. This restaurant already had a line upon our arrival!! We arrive at 11:45am and didn't get seated until 245pm!! This place is on fire (pun intended 😂)!!! Our server Kelly is super nice and so pretty 😊. She is really kind to explain how the process works and which price tier is best for us (since we are from out of state). The meat are well seasoned and delicious 😋!!! Definitely worth the wait and money. I recommend joining the membership if you plan to eat here more often and are locals. One downfall about this place is the VERY, VERY, VERY LONG WAIT TIME! Sign up on YELP to be on the wait list!

An Amazing Experience! 🌟🥩 We recently had a truly fantastic dinner at Chubby Cattle! The food was excellent, and what really made the night stand out was the incredible service we received, particularly from our waiter, Patrick. Exceptional Service from Patrick Patrick was absolutely wonderful. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond when we hit a small snag: * Quick Thinking: One of our grills unfortunately stopped working during our meal. Patrick immediately noticed and, understanding that we now had only one grill for our group, he was incredibly generous and extended our time for the meal so we wouldn't feel rushed. This was a lifesaver! * Wagyu : He even took the time to personally help us cook the delicate Wagyu cuts, ensuring they were prepared perfectly. His knowledge and willingness to step in and assist with the cooking truly elevated the whole experience. Food Highlights The quality of the meat was top-notch, especially the Wagyu. Everything was fresh and delicious—definitely living up to the restaurant's reputation. Overall: Chubby Cattle is a must-visit, not just for the great food, but for the outstanding customer service. Ever since the Japanese BBQ shut down in our town, we were sad that we may not ever find another until I found Chubby Cattle on Instagram! There was already a line when we came before the opening, but there is a wait list we can sign up beforehand. The wait wasn't long, probably 10 mins max for a table of 2. There were a variety of meat to choose from, everything was delicious and scrumptious. I really like the house special sauce and chili as it compliments the meat quite well! Our server, Viet, was very helpful, and kind!! He was also very convincing in selling the membership! Lol Keep up the good work! We will be back!

The service at chubby cattle was amazing, the service and the server Rachel. They cut the meat, cooked and even showed us the best cuts 10/10 would recommend !!!

I came here with my boyfriends for our 2 year anniversary. Loved food here got Diamond tier enjoyed the most premium meat waygu and sashimi that melts in your mouth. The vibes are very fast passed but the decor and tables are so appealing. So cute in here absolutely loved so worth going !! Viet Nguyen was our service and he went out of his way to assist us when we needed. I was telling my boyfriend to get me ginger and he wanted rice. Viet heard and he automatically offered to get it for us. He always checked in on us and reassured us that our food will be coming out!!! 10/10 loveee

Eh, what's another review after they've already hit 3,000 reviews?? You already know the food is good, and the price is worth it. My friend and I killed 3 rounds (with sides, milk tea, desserts!) so we small but mighty. I'm glad I live nearby because I can put my name on the waitlist (must be within 5 miles of the restaurant to join from their Yelp page) and then go home LOL. You can track your ETA and see how many parties are in front of you which is nice. I went when everyone was still on break, so my wait was 4 hours which I think is abnormal. I would expect at least a 2 hour wait if you want to plan ahead. Location wise it's perfect to kill time, because the Pacific Pearl Plaza is right across from the outlets! You can venture further to stroll through downtown Livermore or downtown Pleasanton which are both super cute. Parking is easy to find at Chubby Cattle, and the service has always been excellent. They entice you with amazing sides to get you full faster and honestly, it works on me. Nothing hits quite like the first sip of sweet milky jasmine tea after a mouthful of heavy meat. And their egg tarts are so thick and tasty! The section with the rice machine, miso soup machine, sides/fruit bar, drinks machine, and mapo tofu/curry can get reaaaally crowded with the narrow walkway space. They also have wagyu beef sliders and corn cheese to grab. The only trouble I had was the thin meats sticking to the grill no matter how quickly I pried it off, and I would only get burnt bits by the time I scraped it off. This didn't happen the first time I came, so I'm not sure if it's a grill problem or a skill problem lol. I was more inclined to order thicker meats as a result, even though I prefer thinly sliced. I'm convinced it's just me, but we shall see if it persists next visit!

We (party of 4)recently went to this location. For some reason their waitlist from an app closed out so we had to go to the actual location. We got there by 6p and checked in.... We did not get seated until 8:11p. I'd suggest you get here in a near empty stomach and ready to cook/consume immediately for the 90min limit. The interior design was cool. The employees seem miserable and over worked seeing how busy they were. I would suggest bringing hand wipes. The men's bathroom was a mess. They ran out of soap and nobody bothered to refill it or change out the trash(isn't this a violation for food safety? How are your employees washing their hands if customers can't?). Floors were wet from what I hope to be water. There is a membership $28 for basic for the year but changes to $88 upon renewal or $58 for "plus." I wasn't around for the waiter to explain how it works but you can check online. Is it worth getting? Only if you plan to dine at Chubby Cattle often. The memberships entitle you to a discounted pricing plus points for money you spend. Small perks here and there. The food is what you'd expect from their advertisement. You choose from Premium/Silver/Gold/Diamond tiers(please check the different tiers to see what fits your budget. No you don't get to choose separate tiers.). We choose the Gold Tier. There is a soft serve machine(get this as early as you can, when I got to it I got the last drop of Vanilla and Chocolate) rice machine, a curry station, milk tea station, icy beverage station, small bites(egg custard/sliders/corn kernels with cheese(heat this up on the grill)/banchan station and a typical sliced fruit station. At our table, the burner kept going out. Apparently the sensor kept getting blocked by oil/grease from the fatty meats(this happened about 3-4 times). The menu may seem like there isn't a lot but you might be missing other parts as it wasn't a plainer very well. The only part our waiter guided us through was the protein parts. Would I wait 2 hours again for this meal? Probably not, it was an interesting experience. I personally think this is overhyped. Check their memberships and dining tiers beforehand. Make reservations before 4p for your dining time. Bring had wipes. Wear grippy shoes. Be ready to wait... a long time. Go with a near empty stomach. 5/10 chances of me returning, lots of room to improve upon.

Food was great! I'd give it an 8/10. There were many choices outside of wagyu such as pork and chicken. They also had a lot of sushi/seafood/fried food option. Their side bar could use some more options, but I liked their seaweed salad. They also had a nice fruit bar option. For dessert they had chocolate ice cream and egg tart (there were supposed to be 2 ice cream flavors but only 1 was working). For drinks they had sodas/slushies and milk tea (but only 1 flavor available today). Our server was named Raymond and he did a great job. He was efficient and informative as well as accommodating to our needs. He cooked for us for the most part (it was a Monday and not as busy) and I liked that he asked each one of us in the party how we like our meat cooked!

Tried The Chubby Cattle and it was fantastic. The variety of wagyu cuts were impressive, super tender and really well marbled. There's a nice self-service area with a few sides and desserts, but honestly, you come here for the meat and it absolutely delivers. The tablet ordering system makes it easy to order at your own pace, and our server was very attentive throughout the meal. If you're a wagyu lover, this place won't disappoint. The wait does suck so come early early.

Finally got to try this place out! We went for a late lunch/early dinner so there was practically no wait. Normally around lunch or dinner you'll be waiting an average of 2 hours or more. We ended up doing the Gold tier option. The highest tier is the Diamond, which gets you a little bit more premium meats. The silver option gets you all the regular items but no premiums. All the Japanese wagyu was really good. Some of the other skirt steaks were just ok. The pork belly was average as well. In the back you help yourself to miso soup, rice and any sides. The meats came out pretty fast and our waiter was very attentive. There was so many items on the menu and we tried almost all of the meat options in Gold. We didn't have room to try any of the seafood or sushi, so I can't speak for those items. Overall, it was fairly pricy. They have a membership club that brings down your price per meal if you want to join.

Came here on a Sunday evening and got on the wait-list at around 430pm and they said the wait would be long, and it was. We waited for like four hours for our group of 10 people for a birthday. We mostly shopped at 99 ranch and hung out in the parking lot until it was our turn to be seated. Once we were seated it was great, all the side dishes and drinks, rice, and soup are available buffet style. You order the meats and other dishes on a iPad and they're very quick in getting your orders in so you can start cooking right away. The 10 of us were seated at a large table with two grills. I believe we chose the cheapest option and it still had wagyu options and everything was so good! Idk if I would wait four hours again, but I would definitely come back on a weekday or if the hype dies down a bit. Lol.

Now that I've tried it...editing my previous review. I may have been a tad bitter not getting in. Chubby Cattle is 100% worth the hype. Best meat I've had at an Asian BBQ place. First of all, is the yelp waitlist a tad annoying? To some, yes. But once you make a point to join it early, you can monitor your place in line on the app. Also if you are down to sit at the bar, you can get seated earlier. Now to the food. The meat quality was outstanding. The meat melts in your mouth. For what you get, a lot better value than 10 butchers. My wife and I got the gold tier and it was true authentic A5 wagyu. The A5 wagyu nigiri is 100% worth paying extra for. As for service, it was outstanding. Preson was the BEST server ever. He helped cook all the specialty cuts and made sure we were taken care of. He also did a great job explaining to us the membership program as well. We will definitely come back for birthdays and to bring friends for a fun night out. :) 10/10

Tiffany our server was awesome and attentive, suggested we sign up for the membership since we love AYCE, and we plan on eat at more of their locations. Ordering was easy on the iPad/tv, everything came out lightning fast, and was of great quality. No alcohol/beer yet until they get their liquor license; the condiment bar gets a little tight with all the people. Overall this is a must have experience in the bay; get there early and sign up on the wait list during peak times, luckily the outlets are right across the street.

Maybe we just went on an off day, but we went on a Monday. We got there an hour before opening & was 2nd in line. At 11:00am, they bring out their tablet for people who are in line to sign up for the waitlist for when they open. After signing up, you're free to leave the line, but return at 11:30 when they open. We got in and the server showed us how the process works. You order from a tablet and food will be delivered after. Halfway through the meal, I noticed that half the items we ordered weren't coming out. After I inquired about it the first 2 times, they told me they were still cutting the meats, so it'll come out soon. I inquired again when it wasn't coming out just to be told they never had the meat & won't be getting it in until dinner. It was disappointing because if I knew they didn't have the meat cuts I was hoping to try, which was why I opted to pay for Chubby Cattle, I wouldn't have gone. It was a premium price paid for mediocre cuts of meats since the main cuts we wanted were out. We were also seated way in the corner, so we weren't attended to often, so plates just kept piling up & leaving us with not much table space since their tables are on the smaller side. If you're looking to come here for specific cuts, make sure they actually have them before being disappointed in it.

Chubby Cattle in Pleasanton made for an excellent choice for my birthday dinner--lively, indulgent, and exactly the kind of spot my family and I love. We came on a weeknight and were pleasantly surprised that the wait time was short, setting the tone for a smooth and enjoyable evening. The highlight here is, without question, the variety of Wagyu options. The selection is impressive, and every cut we tried was wonderfully marbled, flavorful, and downright delicious. It's a dream for meat lovers, and the quality more than lives up to the hype. The staff were accommodating and friendly throughout the meal, happy to explain options and make sure everything ran seamlessly. A fun bonus--especially for families--is the self-service side dish station, along with a milk tea drink station and slushies, which my kids absolutely loved. These thoughtful extras add to the overall experience and make the meal feel interactive and relaxed. There is a 90-minute dining time limit, but it never felt restrictive and didn't take away from our enjoyment. All in all, Chubby Cattle delivers great food, attentive service, and a fun atmosphere. It's a place I'd happily return to--and likely will, the next time we're celebrating something special.

Table for 2. Was sat at the bar. Bring a jacket because they leave the door open and it gets super cold! Grill didn't work for the first 15 mins. We had to ask 5 times for someone to tend to us to get the grill working. Finally got it to work and they left it on high which burnt out meats. Asked for a grill and never got one. By the time they were going to replace it, we asked for the check. Dipping sauce they have house and teriyaki, chili pepper, salt and pepper. That's it. Sweet and sweeter. Veggies had flies which was unappetizing. Place is tight and hard to move around. Plates are super small. Ended up enjoying their sides instead. Shrimp tempura and unagi roll was decent. The yellowtail wasn't that good but excepted for a Wagyu place. We did tip, Hopefully that goes to the bus boys because they were doing most of the work for the servers. Won't be coming back here unfortunately.

If i could give this place a 10/5 rating i would!! Absolutely worth the wait. This all-you-can-eat wagyu KBBQ was an incredible experience from start to finish. The meat was unbelievably tender--each bite practically melted in my mouth--and the quality was consistently outstanding throughout the entire meal. Every cut was rich, and beyond flavorful, making it feel indulgent without being overwhelming. Even though the wait for two people on a Sunday night at 7:30 was about an hour and a half, it was handled so well. The hostess, Jenny, was amazing and refreshingly honest about the timing, which we genuinely appreciated. Knowing exactly what to expect made the wait feel much more manageable and showed how much they value transparency and their guests' time. Once we were seated, our server Viet truly made the night special. He was attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead without being overbearing--making sure we had everything we needed and that the pace of the meal felt just right (even though we had only 20 minutes to get our order in). His service elevated the entire experience and made us feel well taken care of from start to finish. Between the exceptional wagyu, outstanding service, and overall atmosphere, this was a dining experience I'd happily repeat. If you're willing to wait for top-tier quality and hospitality, this place is more than worth it.

I went to Chubby Cattle for a team dinner and we were very impressed with their food bar and the meats. We went with the gold menu, and the meats were truly high quality and delicious! Also the experience and selection of items in the food bar was impressive and not overwhelming. The rice machine is awesome! And both of their milk teas are pretty good! The entire experience was top notch to the point where I joined their Chubby Club Membership. As for ambiance, it was pretty loud and busy like any other AYCE restaurant. The service was great too, Nam H. did a great job talking us through the menu and he was very pleasant! I will be back, especially since I'm now a chubby club member. See ya guys in a couple weeks for date night!

To start, the check-in process could have been more organized. Staff set out the iPad for the waitlist without saying anything before heading in, which led to confusion and some arguments due to people cutting the line. There was also no option for groups larger than six with just a message saying to "talk to the host," though there wasn't any host to talk to. When the party ahead of us finally found an employee to ask, they were told to put it in the note which should be noted somewhere for less confusion. A brief announcement or instructions would've helped maintain order. Fortunately, my group was only four people, so we didn't have any issues signing up for the waitlist. Still, I felt bad for the two parties ahead of us as we all waited together for about an hour and a half before opening. Once we were seated, though, the experience made up for it. Chubby Cattle was such a treat! We chose the Diamond Tier and really indulged. The meat quality was outstanding; the marinated options were delicious, but the plain cuts really let the natural flavor shine, especially with the great selection of dipping sauces. Our server, Rex, was phenomenal. He was super attentive and efficient even while managing several tables. He ensured we were taken care of even when our grill suddenly stopped working. Overall, despite the rocky start, our visit to Chubby Cattle was amazing. We even decided to sign up for a Chubby Plus membership after months of considering it. I just hope they improve the waitlist process to make things run more smoothly next time.

Be prepared to wait! We arrive a few mins after they opened and the waitlist was already long. We waited ~4 hours to get a seat for a party of 2. Thank goodness this location is next to the outlets so we were able to walk/shop while on the waitlist que. We got the middle tier. Everything was very delicious and I love how we didn't smell like kbbq afterwards.

It was our first time at Chubby Cattle. Great experience for our first time. The booth we were in only had one grill. Not sure if other booths were the same, but this place def did not feel like it is good for big groups. Our server did his best to explain how the whole experience works, but I personally had difficulty hearing him. Best to look up how the ordering and membership thing works before going here because it was somewhat loud and I think our server could have spoken louder, but probably would not have made a huge difference. Our section was just incredibly loud for whatever reason. The inside is also small, not much room for strollers and things. You order from a touch screen and they are serious about timing at this ayce. Your allotted time shows up on your ordering screen and when time runs out, you can't order anymore. I really enjoyed their brisket, scallops, and fresh kimchi. Service was great! The orders came out pretty fast. I would personally skip the fried calamari and Hokkaido seafood soup --these two did not hit the spot for me. I'd definitely come back to see if the quality is consistent. Pro tip: you can join the Yelp waitlist when you're 5 miles away.

Went to Chubby Cattle at 1:30pm on a Monday to put our name down but the waitlist closed early and wouldn't re-open until 4pm. They will not let you put your name down if they've already closed their virtual waitlist. Keep in mind that this isn't one of those restaurants that close midday so realistically you're still going to wait a while once you've added your name to the afternoon waitlist (because the restaurant will still be full of seated patrons who had put their name down on the morning waitlist). Fast forward ... Got here 15 min early (3:45pm) and there were already 50 people standing in line. Reached the front of the line at 4:15pm. They use the Yelp waitlist system on an iPad kiosk stand outside the restaurant but you're not able to add your name through the mobile app or on a browser - only in-person. Our estimated wait time was between 120-145 minutes with 29 parties ahead of us. We got a text at 7:16pm to see the host because our table was ready, but when we entered the restaurant, we (and other parties before and after us) were ignored for several minutes. I think an acknowledgement from staff would've been nice, particularly from the host holding the iPad but at a minimum from the other employees that would walk by us all. We were finally seated at 7:21pm (so more than 3+ hours of waiting ). Once you're actually seated, service is great. But everything before that is a total letdown. Tldr; Wait time: 2/5 (185 minutes i.e., 3+ hours) Service (from the host): 3/5 Service (from our server): 5/5 (ask for Tiffany!!) Food: 5/5 I do not recommend this place for people that have to drive a long distance to get here. I didn't factor the wait time into my initial review / score because we'd visited around the time of their grand opening (5-6 months ago) so I figured they just needed time to iron things out .. but not much has changed since then in terms of optimization. Management should really consider using OpenTable or Resy for reservations and requiring customers to add a credit card for a deposit .. if they're worried about last-minute cancellations. And so if there's an empty table because a party leaves before the time limit, then more power to the person that happens to walk in on a whim. Just food for thought.

Didn't expect to come back so soon but we happened to be in the Pleasanton area overnight and decided to try visiting Chubby Cattle on a Monday albeit the holiday season. We arrived around 1025 am and parked right in front. Knowing they open at 11:30 am, we wanted to be in the first group to get seated. At 10:30 am, one person decided to wait at the door and I decided to join the line. Found out that Chubby Cattle staff puts out the wait list iPad at 11:00 am so got to be #2 to get seated once the doors open. Well worth it since by 11:30 am on a Monday, a large number of peeps were outside and I'm sure some missed the first wave. Anyways, our waitress this time was Van and she convinced me to be a Chubby Club member for $28 and told me all the savings I would have by being one. Saved $13 apiece for me and my wife on the gold tier bill by signing up. This time, we got a table (rather than a booth) and tried a few things different from the first one. My wife decided to choose the premium items and selected the A5 Wagyu Foie gras nigiri and the A5 Wagyu Uni Caviar Nigiri. It was pretty good I got to admit. Got to try it once if you are a chubby member! Food was delicious as always and got enough meat to satisfy me and not waste any! Can't wait to come back again! Thanks Van for being our waitress this time around!

First time with the wife and it was her birthday. Came early to get on wait list and it was fast. RAYMOND was very very helpful and friendly. We also made small talk and found out her like starwars! Raymond service was top notch! Good music and good food and clean space and always checking in on us to see that we're good.

Finally had the chance to come in and try Chubby Cattle and everything was amazing! We had a great server who explained how things worked and even prepared one of our dishes for us. We opted for the Diamond option and also ended up getting a membership which allow us for membership pricing and a few perks. The prime wagyu was very delectable. Me and the hubby savored each dish. Definitely coming back and we recommend weekdays so you don't have to wait too long in line. Reservation is suggested.

Finally a BBQ where I don't leave smelling dank AF. I avoid BBQ at all cost because leaving smelling heavy makes me super disgusted and it's one of my fiancée's favorites when eating out so he's so glad we came across Chubby Cattle. It's a complete win for us both. There's 3 tiers to choose from, all AYCE (all you can eat-- within a time window) that includes meats, sides, fruits, ice cream, soft drinks, MILK TEA, yes, you heard right, milk tea!!!!!! Match made in heaven. For the Gold and Diamond tier folks, please get A5 Wagyu Short Rib and Ribeye. Don't do yourself a disservice, skip the A5 Otoro.. it was our first time here and we got the A5 Short Rib and Otoro. The short rib was stellar, but the otoro was extremely disappointing. At least the cuts we got during our visit, were complete waste. The service was incredibly quick, bringing dishes and clearing the empty ones. There is bar and booth seating, I prefer booth for a more comfortable experience. However, it gets insanely packed so if you're lucky enough to score no wait time, congratulations to you. The restroom is clean, there's parking, and if you have to wait long, the outlets are across.

Absolutely amazing quality meat and even better service from Anderson! He made sure our questions were answered and all our food came out quickly. He helped us cook the meats as well when he had time! They played EDM in the background and it made it a super fun environment! The self serve bar in the back has fruits, veggies, egg tarts, rice and meat, and burgers! They also have self serve ice cream, milk tea and icees. You have to come here and put your name on the waitlist, you can't do it on Yelp in advance unfortunately... but the Livermore outlets are across the street so you have things to do while you wait!! They're part of chubby club so you can get a membership discount and free birthday meal too definitely worth it! Thanks Anderson for making this a great experience!!

This place is amazing and with the hype! We got the diamond tier and it was delicioussss and worthy the hype! I got on the yelp waitlist on a friday at around 5:50pm and got seated at around 9pm. The food was delicious and really reminded me of Japan and honestly I think it is a very reasonable price for how high quality the meat is! They also have an amazing selection for drinks like a jasmine milt tea and soft serve as well as a bar with fruit and other sides you can get! Our server Anderson was amazing and super helpful! He helped us learn about the rewards program and he was ever attentive with our group! He gave us a bunch of recommendations and even helped us cook a lot of the meat! Celebrated my birthday here and it was the best choice! Purchased the membership and can't wait to come back. We ended up with the gold package and it was perfect. We really enjoyed the A5 selection and all the Wagyu you can eat. Meat was high-quality and fresh. Also got some sashimi and hand rolls. Everything was just absolutely wonderful, including the free soda, desserts fruit, salads, self serve rice machine, ICs Boba drinks. The list just goes on and on. Listen to me...Get the membership...otherwise, you snooze, you lose.

It was our first time here, and we had an awesome experience! We got here at about 11am, signed in, and were 4th in line. We were seated immediately when they opened at 11:30am. Rex was our server, and he was so warm, friendly, and helpful. Thanks Rex for taking care of us! The rest of the staff were also so friendly, helpful, and prompt with clearing our table (for more food!). They also maintained the self service area cleanliness and presentation consistently. The food quality was excellent! My family took advantage of all the various wagyu, but my favorite was the yellowtail carpaccio. We really enjoyed our meal here and hope to come back again soon!

First time at Chubby Cattle! We got the Diamond Tier. My favorite was the A5 Wagyu Foie Gras Nigiri. The Wagyu was soooo soft , so tender and just completely melted in my mouth. I love their salmon carpaccio, the salmon was so thiccc. They also have a self serve area that has fruits, desserts, drinks, soups, and appetizers. I loved their Jasmine Milk Tea, it was not sweet which was perfect.

Really great quality beef. My family of 5 filled up which is quite impressive since my brothers are 19 and eat a lot of food. The service was reflected in the high price tag. Our servers answered all our questions and were really attentive. We got on the waitlist at 4:45 pm on a Friday and we were seated at 6:30pm.

First of all great service despite on how really busy it is ! My family (party of 12 adults & 1 kid) came for our cousin's 21st birthday and he chose this restaurant. Went on a Tuesday night and this place was super busy! They are still on a soft opening as well, I can't imagine the how busier it will get. The hostess Presley (I think that was his name) was great with keep us posted on our table and getting our party seated. He explain the tiers ( silver, gold , diamond) . We ended up with the gold tier. Seniors 65+ have a discount. FYI. Also the staff were nice enough to put the birthday cake in the fridge while we ate. Our waiter Viet, was amazing and patient. He got us promptly with changing out grill and other services. He explained a lot of the menu, & showed us the process of ordering from the kitchen. There was also a bar area for smaller parties. Besides the meat they had sushi options, & hot pot soup too. Fruit stations and appetizers bar (seaweed, miso soup, kimchi, garlic etc) were freshly put out. They also had fresh vegetables for the hot pot soup ( tom yum etc) Rice and miso soup had its own machine self service station. Impressive of the set up. I love how they have a milk tea station & slushy area next to the fountain drinks. Soft serve ice cream and warm egg tarts were other options for dessert. Get there early to be on the wait list! Long wait times in general. The only suggestion I could give to make it a little kid friendly, is to have booster seats for the booths. High chairs on the aisle makes me nervous for safety reasons in the spacing of this restaurant. Overall would recommend for certified waygu meat and service. I look forward coming for the grand opening so we can have beer and alcohol drinks that would be hopefully available then!

Lunch waitlist opens 1 hour before open and dinner waitlist opens at 4 pm as stated by their instagram. You can only join waitlist nearby in person. We got there right at 4pm on a Sunday and there were about 4-5 people in front of us in line already however once we signed up we were already number 34 and quoted to be sat at around 6:20-6:45 pm which was confusing but understandable as this place is super popular. We signed up and got back at quoted time but were disappointed as we weren't sat until about 7:45 pm, so in total we waited almost 4 hours (which could have been fine if we weren't under-quoted)! The food was solid, the selection is good and the servers are all hard working and doing their best in the very chaotic and over-stimulating environment. I liked the table-side tablet to order or call server along with their selections/variety of side dishes. It's also cool that they have sushi. Also note that you have 70 minutes to order. 2 things that were lacking for me were that there seemed to be no vents indoors and the milk tea ran out for the entire night. Definitely save showering or washing your hair until after you visit due to this! Overall, worth checking out once for the experience and maybe go on a weekday.

Good restaurant that I would recommend everyone to try at least once bring a jacket because it's pretty cold inside There was a 10 minute wait for a party or 2 at 4pm. It's a yelp waitlist you can join on your phone. We got the gold tier and with that we got 1 order from the special meats and 1 order from the special dishes per person. You order off the IPad they provide you. It's a pleasant dining experience with the milk tea, slushies, egg tarts and sliders! For meats, I would recommend getting the short rib meat and the finger meat! The server cooks the special meats for you but the rest of the AYCE menu is on you. Service was good and the food came quick. Our server even recommended a selection of meats based on how they looked in the back. I'd personally skip out on the carpaccio next time as our fish was dry without much sauce. Keep track of your 90 minute allocation time because they cut us off before we finished without any last call notice. Unfortunately we didn't get to try all we wanted. It's very cold in the restaurant.

I finally had the chance to try Chubby Cattle, and wow--what an experience! My friend treated me to lunch here, and even though the wait was almost two hours, it actually worked out perfectly since we used the time to wander the area and pick up some snacks from 99 Ranch next door. By the time we were seated, I was more than ready--and the meal absolutely delivered. This was my first time dining here and my first time trying wagyu beef, and the experience was phenomenal. My friend already had a gold-tier membership and walked me through their ordering setup. The customer service was great--simple, warm interactions that made us feel welcomed without being intrusive. I liked that everything was done through the tablet, which made each round of ordering easy and efficient. There were tons of options for meats and even nigiri, which honestly surprised me with how good it was. I wanted to try the Hamachi, but they were out during our visit--no worries though, because the salmon nigiri still hit the spot. There is an ordering time limit, so definitely make the most of it. They offer unlimited drinks (I kept going back for the milk tea), plus a rice dispenser and a miso soup dispenser that had both of us oddly fascinated. I joked that the miso was basic since it was just broth, but my friend loved the convenience of it. The meats, though... unforgettable. The wagyu was rich, and dipping it into their signature chubby sauce was perfection. I honestly should've asked if they sold bottles of it because it was that good. My friend mentioned a grilling tip he learned from a server during his first visit--smear the meat a bit as you cook so the juices and fat help prevent sticking. Worked like a charm and made the experience even better. His membership also came with a solid discount, which was a nice bonus. Between the two of us, we probably ordered at least 30 items--but hey, it's all you can eat and absolutely worth every bite. Aside from the long wait time, everything else was exquisite: the ambience, the service, the flavors... all perfect. I completely understand why this spot is so popular. It took me about an hour and forty minutes to drive here, and I can confidently say it was worth every mile. If the customer photos aren't already convincing enough, take this as your sign--you need to try Chubby Cattle.

The line was loooong. I was skeptical when I read reviews that it was worth the wait, but I have been converted. I got there around 2:30 for dinner. The wait-list had closed by that time, and the wait-list for dinner was not going to be available until 4pm. I came back at 3 to start lining up for the dinner wait-list. I was #4. By 4pm, the line was was all the way to the Ranch 99 entrance and back. When I got on the wait-list, I was #13 because there were people still waiting from the lunch wait-list. My husband and I went to the outlets across the street, and by then, there were 81 parties on the waitlist. We got seated around. 5:15, which wasn't bad considering what others have waited on some reviews I have read. As for the dining experience. It was amazing. We got the top diamond tier so was able to get the premium wagyu meats. My favorite was the A5 Miyazaki short rib. We signed up for the membership, and got the typical discount plus the birthday discount since it was a day before my birthday, so we more than made up for the membership fee. Aside from the A5 meats, which you can only get 2 portions of, there was a selection of other wagyu meats, but not as "melt in your mouth" tender. There was also unlimited drinks including milk tea and sides bar. There was also a rice dispenser which was kind of fun to try. A few notes and tips: - there was no alcohol served. Not sure if it was because they didn't get their alcohol license yet. - you can only place an order every 10 minutes so load up. - they hold pretty strict to the 90(?) minute time limit. Overall. It was a great experience. I highly recommend it but plan wisely to minimize waiting. Once you are on the wait-list. You can keep track of where you are on the waitlist. For dinner, I would recommend getting in on the tail end of the lunch wait-list which might be tricky because I don't think there is a set time when it's taken away, or the beginning of dinner wailist, which requires lining up an hour in advance at 3pm. -

Time to update my recent visit at this stoneridge Chubby cattle location. It's a tad small and the wait list is ridiculously long. I was on #32 when I arrived at 730 pm, but luckily people bailed out and I was seated at 9 pm. Thanks for fitting my party and I otherwise we'd have to drive 45 mins home without my party getting to try this place. Kuddos to the hostess for doing her best. Service is amazing, since they constantly check on you. As always, I got the premium menu with an annual membership $28/year and a free tier birthday dinner within 3 days of your birthday and your party +1 gets the $10 discount. The place allows you to pick your own rice, milk tea bar, salad bar so I love the round pickled daicon to go with the grilled meat. Onto the meat quality, it was really good with the A5 limited wagyu cuts. I always get the ribeye, and even their sushi was pretty good. I'd definitely say it's better to go for the grilled meat and bang for your buck. Expect to come out all smoky. The ventilation doesn't work well, but I love the smell of grilled meat. Just have to shower afterward when going home. And I walk away with a glass full of milk tea on the way out.

We came here for my nephew's birthday lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Got in line at about 10:30am, 10th in line. They open up the tablet waitlist at 11am for the 11:30am seating. They will text you when your table is ready. You can also sign up for the waitlist on Yelp but Yelp doesn't open their waitlist until 12:30pm. Once inside, it's mostly booth seating. It was slightly cramped for our party of 5. There wasn't much table space. You get 90 minutes for AYCE. The little buffet area was somewhat cramped as well, a narrow hallway space, The meats came out slow at first and then all came out towards the end. We felt a little rushed at the end because of the pacing of the meat. But we still enjoyed our experience here. Noise level was moderate. Not super loud but sometimes hard to hear the waiter or the people across the table. The place was busy and is doing well after a few months of being open. It's their 1st Bay Area location. They will be adding 2 more locations in the Bay Area soon.

Revisited after a month to see if the hype held up. It did. Thanksgiving weekend meant it was absolutely slammed, but somehow the staff kept everything running smoothly. Orders still came out quickly, plates were cleared before we could stack them ourselves. That's impressive when the place is at capacity. Alan was our server this time - regularly checked in and offered to swap our grill plate multiple times. Preston at the front was working hard to keep the waiting crowd happy, which isn't easy when you're looking at long waits. Same great beef tongue with lemon situation. Still ordering it multiple times. Still worth it. The fact that service didn't crash and burn on one of the busiest weekends of the year? That tells you they've got their systems down. Props to the team for maintaining quality when it would've been easy to let things slide.

Chubby Cattle in Pleasanton is one of those spots where the food is excellent, the experience is memorable, and the timing is everything. If you want dinner here, come early. And I mean show-up-at-4:30-and-wait-for-them-to-open early. The waitlist fills up fast and the walk-in window closes before the evening even begins! Don't bother casually strolling here by 6PM on a weekend, because if you do, chances are you will not be eating here. Once you are inside though, the flow is efficient. Almost TOO efficient. They move quickly, the food comes fast, and the moment your 90-minute buffet timer ends, they remind you with the precision of a swiss watch. Fortunately, the staff is friendly, so the exit feels more like a gentle nudge than an eviction. They even let me walk out with the side bar items I had already grabbed, including a milk tea and an egg tart, which felt like a small but honorable victory. Now for the important part, the food. My group went with the Gold Tier because if we are here, we are doing this properly with at least an A5 cut, which you won't get if you pick Silver. With Gold, you get all of Silver plus one special dish and one special meat, so choose wisely. I loved the A5 Miyazaki wagyu short rib. It is incredibly fatty and delicious to the point where you may wonder if it's even meat you're eating. It's kinda like butter with a side of meat. If that is not your thing, the A5 finger meat gives a firmer bite and might be more enjoyable. The sleeper hit for the night was the wagyu skirt steak (harami) which quickly became the favorite at my table. It has actual texture, a slight chew, and that satisfying savory flavor that fatty wagyu cuts sometimes sacrifice. You can order a lot here, but there is a 10-minute cooldown between rounds which means you have to strategize. Choose your battles. Choose them well! But honestly, just come hungry and keep ordering (anything really) and it'll be amazing in its own way. The side bar has plenty to offer, but I will be honest. When I am on a countdown clock in a buffet setting, my brain is wired for maximum value, so vegetables become optional. Still, their chopped jalapenos, radish, and lettuce makes me feel less guilty when I devour trays of meaty goodness. Also from their side bar, I very much enjoyed their Samurai Tea, which is a mix of black and oolong tea. It helped cut through the richness of the wagyu. If you need a moment of clarity mid-meal, that tea will provide it (as well as make you feel more full in the process). Between four people, we managed 34 dishes before deciding that pride is not worth the indigestion. The food is great, the quality is high, and the experience is legitimately fun once you accept the speed-run nature of it. Final verdict is a solid 5 out of 5 for flavor and selection, with the gentle warning that you must come early or accept defeat before even starting.

Went here on Thanksgiving day with cousin and nephew. We wanted to eat around 2pm. Figured I get there early and check-in on the iPad at the front around 1pm. We still ended up waiting an hour and half total. Wish they had an online reservation system as I'm coming from the Peninsula and there's no guarantee of getting a table. This is my only complaint. We chose to do the Diamond Set as I paid another $29 to my Chubby club one membership to be a Chubby Club plus member. Today's payment basically knocked off discount that we received today and we got to spin the machine for a prize as part of the promotion. Only got points out of it. The food from selections from the Diamond set were absolutely top notch. We ordered the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Short Rib, Otoro Thick Cut, Ribeye and all cooked quickly, but the bites were impeccable. They are limited to 2 per person I believe, but we made the most out of them. Since there were 3 of us we got a few different choices. Then we ordered a Wagyu Nigiri with Uni & Caviar and Wagyu with Foie Gras. Both were delectable bites. Then we stuck mostly to Brisket and other meats and Sushi options to get our proteins for the day. Lol. They have a lot of options at the self service station with fruit and other vegetables, but we mainly focused on the Wagyu and were able to try most of the dishes offered. The place itself was clean, but the space is small and I can see why it's tough to get a table when it's busy as sometimes they close the waitlist. Our server was knowledgeable and was able to answer any of our questions and as always they are quick to take away the empty plates. Our server was also able to toss in an A5 Striploin which you cook and then put on top of a piece of nigiri and was very good. Would definitely go back if given the opportunity, overall a 9/10 experience.

Stopped by Friday night during the Black Friday rush with a couple of friends. We joined the waitlist around 4:30pm and it was about an hour and a half wait. Not too bad as we've heard people wait up to 4 hours before. There's 3 pricing tiers that can potentially get a discount with a membership add on. Each tier has a different option on the all you can eat with more options as you increase in price. We went with the gold option that gave us the perfect amount to try the wagyu caviar option and the other tender meats. You can order up to 10 things every 5 minutes and it comes out pretty fast. Overall great experience! All the meats were really fresh and tasty. Our server, Nico was the best as well. He was very attentive despite it being so busy and helped cook the expensive meats. Thanks chubby and Nico! Hoping to come back soon.

There's a huge line for a reason. Alas, my girls and I found our go to carnivore heaven!! Unlimited premium American, Australian, and Japanese A5 Wagyu beef, seafood, and nigiri. And I mean premium - I can still taste all the melt-in-your-mouth A5 wagyu, toro, uni/caviar wagyu nigiriYUM! Menu details: Gold is $59 and Diamond is $88 but as a member, for $28/year, you can get discounted prices ($7 off gold and $10 off diamond). We rode on my friend's membership and got the diamond treatment. Why would you get anything else!? Service was great and the staff were super knowledgeable about the premium meats and even offered to cook our meat for us (probably so we don't incinerate the wagyu). There's unlimited veggies, rice, boba, and soft serve ice cream too. Get in line early to make a reservation!

Ordered the top tier diamond selection, $88 per person at noon. The beef was tough and inedible . Seriously, inedible! That was NOT Wagu beef. The beef lacked flavor and was in need of more seasonings than what was available. The sides were subpar and limited. The mini cheese burgers were left out to harden under the heat lamps and were also, inedible. TheTempura shrimp, fried Calamari and dumplings, those can be found better at Costco. Really disappointed in this place. Don't listen to the social media hype, this place is mediocre at best.

Came here for a birthday celebration, and what a perfect way to celebrate a birthday- unlimited high quality meats. We did the gold tier which included special dishes of A5 Miyazaki Wagyu short rib and Wagyu Uni Caviar Nigiri. So very delicious. I enjoyed the self service area that included unlimited jasmine milk tea & curry that you can smother over your rice. Orders are placed through an iPad and came out fairly quickly. Our waiter, Viet, was on point and contributed to our great experience. Will def be coming back.

Not a fan of their waitlist option. I can't do it on the app so you go to the location and join there. What are you supposed to for hours while you wait? That's crazy to me. Seating at the bar is freezing because they keep the door open since it's so smokey in there. Not a fan of the buffet in the back. It's too small and cramped. Why don't they just bring water and rice to people. Just feel like for the price we should be getting served. The side choices are not as much as you would expect either. The meat quality is good. But not really marinated. Don't go in expecting a normal Korean BBQ experience bc this is not it. The beef ended up all tasting the same. You can only eat so much of it. The hubs enjoyed the sushi. Their screen talks about sauces, so I had to ask to get their siracha sauce and the server had no idea what the garlic sauce was so I didn't get to try that. The meat needed some spice so I'm surprised they don't have more spicy sauces. Overall I'm not a fan of the dining experience. There's totally not enough ventilation happening there. It's not a spot I'm going to crave to go back too. The food was ok, but nothing you can't make at home.

Me and my family (party of 6) dined here today (1/24/26) around 5pm and I just wanted to give a huge shout out to our server, Rachel. She went above and beyond when it came to serving us. My family had an amazing time eating here and we owe it a lot to her for making my family's second dining experience exceptionally better than their first. The first time my family ate here last month they ordered Diamond Tier, however, the server back then didn't offer to cook anything. But this time, Rachel helped us with as much cooking as she could for the rest of her shift. We were honestly a bit sad that she had to leave at the end of her shift because she brought such good vibes & energy to the table :) If any management sees this, please give her a raise! She deserves it! If you plan to dine here, definitely plan to get here early because the waitlist tends to close at certain times. All of the wagyu were so very delicious. But be careful not to order too much towards the end of tiring because all that chewing gets so tiring! Definitely take advantage of getting radish or kimchi at the salad bar to help balance out the flavor of the meat. Also, sesame oil is available upon request if you need to add it to your salt/pepper. Overall, my family would definitely be back here again if they ever get another wagyu craving. Wife really wanted to try this place so we went for her birthday. Was hoping to get there before they opened, but ended up getting there at 12:15pm. Threw our names on the waitlist and got the 35th spot. ETA was 2-3 hours so we went to the outlet mall while we waited. Got back at 3:00pm and waited another 40 minutes to be seated. I was starving at this point. Ambiance is nice. The place gave off the vibe of how I'd imagine a yakiniku restaurant in Japan would feel like. Service was great. They were attentive and the meats and dishes were brought out fairly quickly. We decided on the Gold tier since there wasn't a big difference between Gold and Diamond except for the quantity of special meats you can order per person. All of the meats were high quality and the A5 was just melting in my mouth. We tried a lot of different types of meat just to try them and didn't dislike any of them, but the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Short Ribs were by far our favorite cut. The A5 Wagyu nigiri special dishes and the hand rolls were amazing as well! Tried the tom yum hotpot as well, and it was delicious. I loved how sour it was, and had a little bit of heat. There wasn't much protein in it though, outside of maybe 3 shrimp and a small amount of squid. The self service station also had a few interesting items. I was surprised at how decent the Japanese curry was, and the egg custard tart was flaky and delicious. The milk teas were way better than I thought they'd be as well. I ordered the salmon carpaccio, but it never came out. I was pretty full by the time I remembered so I didn't bother telling them. I asked if they did anything special for birthdays, but the server said not unless you were a member. About a minute later, they did a whole performance for someone else's birthday. I guess if you want something special for your birthday, get the membership before you go! Overall the food and service was really good, but I don't think it was worth the 3+ hour wait. Once the Milpitas and Santa Clara locations open, maybe it'll decrease the wait times.

Finally came a second time! SO good and there are very good egg tarts too. Milk tea is so good as usual. The waygu beef was REALLY good! Service was impeccable, Viet was very attentive and funny! He gave the best service! Ambiance was very nice and modern. So a fun place to come enjoy a meal. Good for couple and for big parties too. Will come again!

Server: Anderson How long was the wait? 2 hour... Was the 2 hour wait worth it? Abso-freakin-lutely! Don't complain y'all, that wait makes the all you can eat worth it Amazing service hands down. Only been here twice and honestly going to be a repeat customer just because of the amazing service we got. Anderson rocks! Favorite meats this time around was the A5 Wagyu Sirloin, the A5 Waygu Shortribs, A5 Wagyu Nigiri with foie gras, Wagyu Brisket (no sauce) with the pasture egg to dip in. Oh man, so orgasmic! Must try! Our next time here, we have our eyes set on that Diamond Tier and actually commit to doing it this time lol
