After eagerly awaiting a chance to dine at Chubby Cattle in Rosemead, we finally got a Saturday night reservation. The restaurant has a cozy, laid-back atmosphere and wasn’t overly crowded, which made for a pleasant evening. There’s a single menu price of $65.99 per person, with drinks billed separately. We opted for the charcoal fire outdoor dining, and the smoky, charred flavor it imparted on the beef was a highlight—absolutely delicious.
The A5 Wagyu beef was a treat, though limited to one piece per customer, which left us wanting more. Compared to other Chubby Cattle locations, the sushi menu here felt a bit restrictive, with only one type of sushi and one dessert available. That said, the quality of the other meats more than made up for it. The short rib was the main show- tender, flavorful, and perfectly marinated. Every bite was worth the price.
Service was fantastic, with attentive and friendly staff who made the experience even better. Our only gripe was the parking—navigating the small lot was a hassle. Overall, it’s a spot we’d recommend and return to, but we’re also curious to check out their Hacienda Heights location for a potentially broader menu. Chubby Cattle Rosemead delivers a solid dining experience that’s well worth the visit.
