Chucks Homemade Water Ice

Very cute, vanilla soft serve taste amazing very creamy one of the best I've ever had. The lady was very kind and generous. Overall a great experience so glad I stopped by! Highly recommend! The honored my requests abd were happy to oblige. My friends pretzel was so warm and fluffy as well!

Homemade soft ice cream and homemade wooder ice. The ice cream was creamy and flavorful and priced fairly. I had the mango and the tangerine water ice (wooder ice if you’re from Philly) Caveat: they add a flat fee of $1 for using a credit card, regardless of amount, so bring cash.

We came here as this seemed to be the only spot in driving distance open for water ice after a Wings game. I had mango and candy fish. Both flavors were yummy, and I preferred the candy fish flavor. My husband had a chocolate soft serve, which was creamy and delicious. Service was great. The owner was so kind and spoke to us for a few minutes. I wish they had the prices posted on the menu (unless I missed them). This is a great late night spot for a sweet treat!

Awesome spot for water ice & ice cream. The main flavors: mango, cherry, green apple, pineapple, strawberry lemonade, blueberry, watermelon, & chocolate are always available. They rotate special flavors: Candy Fish (Swedish fish) was delicious! I got a quart of chocolate takeout, & candy fish regular for the road! I will be coming back often👍

Water Ice is Great. The people are Awesome. It's just the prices are a little much. I use to take my kids more frequently, but 3.50 for a kids cups and can't mix the flavors makes me skip out on them sometimes.

So yummy! I had the strawberry lemonade gelati and it was super tasty - love that they have the custard on the bottom and the top. They have a good number of flavors and the lady that served me was super friendly. Will absolutely return.

The line is always long and it's a good sign!! They have the water ice , pretzels and soft serve you remember from the summer nights ,after dinner , "line up at the corner the water ice truck is coming " days. So grateful I live close by.

The guy who was serving us let us try a few flavors before deciding on what to order. The lemon was by far the best and reminded my family and me of lemonade! The texture of the water ice was fantastic too. I also really liked how the gelatis had custard in it instead of soft serve.

Haven't had much water ice before, but this place is great! Tried the lemon water ice and the vanilla custard and both were amazing. Owner is really friendly too!

Really good. Really, really good. One of the best, possibly edging out Pop's for second place but too close to call at this point. Keep in mind I only speak of lemon water ice; I do not countenance the other flavors or products. Thicker than average, lemon had some nice tartness but a tad too sweet for my taste but,yea, this be some real nice wooter ice. And Mr. Chuck, FYI, if you edit your business name on yelp from "Waterice" to "Water Ice" you'll get more eyeballs on your page.

Every time we go to Philly we try a new water ice place based on ratings. We have tried Jimmys, Pops, and Chucks. Chucks is better than ice outside of Philly, but inferior Jimmys or Pops in flavor and texture. No bits of fruit, either. My wife and kids concur. Certainly enjoyable on a hot day...I'm not saying to avoid it, but there are better spots out there.

Live love Chucks best water ice and custard in South Philly, everything is homemade and fresh and the owners are so sweet. Down to earth place, prices are affordable.

On the hunt this summer to find the best water ice in Philly! Did I find it here? Not so sure, but I'll tell you a little about it... I've driven past this little spot which is kind of out of the way, very far down the west end of Snyder Ave. I wondered why I had never heard of it, or actually been here before. Maybe the location? It's seems just like a lot of the other classic South Philly mom & pop wooder ice shops.... Window and cash only, and standing boldly in Italian flag colors. Somewhat simple offerings: -They have almost a dozen flavors, some with real fresh fruit pieces. Love this! - soft serve -of course that last one means they offer gelati -Soft pretzels which for most go hand in hand with water ice for some reason, but here they offer them topped a few different ways like pizza, cheese and pepperoni. -Nachos We wanted to order a kiddie size but they wouldn't do two flavors so went with a medium which at our last location, the same size cup was a small. Same cup and for $1 more here. Lemon was a popular choice with our crew and it was good choice! It was perfectly tart and a tad sweet and had lots of chunks of lemon in it!! Absolutely delish! The mango and cherry were also incredibly flavored, no fruit though! My strawberry lemonade was good too. Perhaps a tad to sweet for me, but good. All and all, we would head back to Chucks when we're in the area and think you should try it if you are too! *Knocking off a star for lack of a place to sit, the fact that I didn't get that warm South Philly welcome and feeling I'm used to getting at places such as these, and and for the fact I think they're just a hair pricier than the places we've encountered so far.

Best water ice I've had in my life. An old friend used to live nearby and he would take me here every time I visited in the summer. Get the watermelon if they have it!!!! I miss it so much.

They have delicious water ice and soft pretzels. My husband enjoyed the pizza pretzel. They have great prices too.

It's fine... I mean, I appreciate the classicness of the place. And the signs are spot-on. But the menu is so damn... plain. Maybe I'm spoiled with a million water ices, this place only has like 8. My kids cone was big for a kid though, and the flavor was totally fine. The rest of the menu like pretzels and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies are just so damn plain --- EXCEPT getting pretzels "chopped up" - I have no clue what that means. I should have asked. I would come back here just to ask what was up with that chopped pretzel.

Best water ice, pizza pretzel and soft baked cookies in South Philly!!!! This place is a hidden gem unless your truly from South Philly. They offer a variety of flavored water ices. My favorite cookies are the chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin & sugar. I always have a hard time deciding if I want water ice and cookies or a pizza pretzel so I usually end up getting all 3 and saving the cookies for later. My family & I have visited this same location for over the past 5yrs and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Caesar & his wife, the owners, are very friendly. I hope they add outdoor seating so that I can eat my pizza pretzel right there instead of inside my car. It's hard to drive knowing I have a hot pizza pretzel waiting for me Prices are reasonable. I'm not sure if they take debit/credit cards I usually go with cash. We normally visit during the day because the lines are shorter & I can use the reserved parking spot right in front of the business to eat my pretzel....check out my pic from their FB page.... Lol

This is a local water ice stand that has not changed much. It's been 17 years and the water ice and ice creams still taste the same. The best in South Philly. The prices are reasonable good. A must try would be the waffle ice cream! The staff there are super nice and fast. They already know what I want when I get there. Super friendly family owned business I'm bummed out that they're not open year-round, but now that it's the summer again, I'll keep going back.

Mango is the best! Love this place!! Definitely give it a try if you're in Philly! They have a good bit of flavors.
